I really liked that little corset/waist-cincher thing too :cry: I was thinking about trying to get the set even though I already have the non-exclusive one, and selling the extra Clawdeen... but now Lala is so plain. Guess not. Boo. :(
Sad face. That Draculaura also has the buck-tooth fangs. I can't stand the Draculaura dolls that have her fangs connected like that.
I am bummed. I've had my Venus for a day and somehow I've already managed to rub a bald patch in her flocking at the back! I had no idea it was that fragile! I can't imagine the flocking on any Venus owned by a little girl lasting very long. I barely even touched it. She also has really dry, brittle hair and a hole in her pants. I'm thinking about e-mailing Mattel, although I'm not sure it's worth it because even if they send me a replacement, what's to stop it from happening again? :(
Flocking does not have to be fragile though. A fair few SS ponies have held up over the years :)Good to know. I guess the flocking on my Venus doesn't have enough glue holding it on or something.
I've had signature Clawd for like a year and his sideburns have held up fine through normal display/posing, so I wouldn't worry too much about him as long as he's kept away from water ^.^That should be easy enough. It's not like he's got any hair to brush in the first place, so I doubt I'll be touching his head much except to pose it.
I guess there will be no washing of Venus' hair either :yikes:I already boil straightened her hair. I was very careful not to get the flocking wet, although I suppose some of the steam could've done something and then when my finger touched it while brushing her hair, it rubbed off. I dunno. Whatever the case, it seems way too fragile for such an expensive doll. There's just no way a little kid is going to be able to play with Venus without her flocking coming off.

I bought her last week, and they had all the boxes behind the shop desk so i couldn't compare all their face-ups. Well When I unpacked her when I came home I first noticed that her lipstick had a scratch, and that her joints are really really loose. I checked her yesterday, and then i also noticed that she has wonky eyes (Didn't notice at first due to being focused on the loose joints)
Dumb thing is that since she is unpacked, there is no way I can return it (returns are obly for packaged or flawed toys, but I don't think they will accept face rub, wonky eyes and loose joints as "flawed" because it still works...)
Maybe try returning to her to the store? Paint scratch on the lips is definitely a flaw even they can't ignore right?

I was tempted to get a DDG Spectra as well, as I like her a little bit better than signature Spectra, but I still have a fairly strong dislike for the character in general and the whole ball-and-chain motif is a real turn-off for me ... which is a pity, because I have a couple of cool ghostly photo ideas, and Spectra would be perfect for that, but I just can't bring myself to like her enough to buy own her. I'll have to turn one of my other ghouls into a ghost. LOL.

I'm debating getting my first MH doll soon, but I just can't bring myself to pay the $20 price tag. Do these dolls ever go on sale? If so, how much are they usually marked down? Would they possibly have them for a good price on Black Friday? I was kind of hoping I could find one at a Thrift Store, but unfortunately for me, none of the ones around me carry toys anymore, and there's no Goodwill near here. I really want to get either Draculaura or Rochelle eventually.

Found schools out Lagoona today, there were 4 of her on the shelves at TRU. They were all somewhat wonky eyed but at least she's back in stores!! I also saw a bunch of the werecat twins again, I bought them when they first came out so I didn't need them today. Hopefully this is a sign of better distribution. There were also a million Robeccas and Venuses so they're definately not that elusive in my area anymore lol

Last year Walmart had them for $10 on Black Friday. I picked up a few :D
So I got both a DDG Spectra and a signature Spectra yesterday. I'm keeping the DDG Spectra body, but I've already swapped their hands around as I don't like those grafted-on chains on DDG Spectra's hands. Now I can't make up my mind whose face-up I like better. I like DDG Spectra's fringe, and I kinda like her skinnier jaw, but her hair is a lot longer than sig Spectra's, and her purplish eyeshadow also kinda makes her look ill. I think I prefer sig Spectra's softer eye make-up. So I may swap their heads around too.
Lol! Are you Dr. Frankenstein in disguise?! The thought of you swapping heads on differn't bodies then deciding if you like it just made me start to wonder lol! Its ALIVE!!! ITS ALLLIIIVVVEEE!!!!!! :cheer:LOL. I've done it quite a few times, always with the same characters, so you can't actually tell. When I've got a doll that I don't want to keep, but it's got a newer, better body (eg. it's got plastic hip joints instead of elastic and/or its elbows and knees aren't as floppy), I swap heads and keep the new body and then sell the old one with the head that I don't want to keep. In this case, I can't decide which Spectra head to keep. There are pros and cons to both. I like sig Spectra's eyeshadow better, but I also like DDG Spectra's lip color and fringe better. Too bad I can't blend them together!

Especially with the swimsuit series it buggers me. Swimsuits are so small pieces of clothing so it hard to do anything really special with them. In the regular lines they can make all the new clothes interesting and cool, but swimsuits.. not really...

I'm like you, I can't stand the swimsuit lines. Only real "bonus" to them is that they are a little bit cheaper. I bought SS Lagoona and Abbey so I can buy some clothes off Etsy at some point and dress them up in something more than a simple swimsuit. That's the only thing I like about the swimsuit lines, they give me dolls I can dress up and not feel bad about it because I don't like their stock clothes.

I don't particularly like Hoodude either, he's sat on my shelf looking forlorn but I keep thinking I can't possibly separate him and Scarah.....I find him to be a rather disturbing doll, not just in appearance (he wears a jacket but not pants?!) but in concept as well (Frankie made him, so doesn't that make her his mom?). As long as their eyes are proportionate to their head, I love them. I think they make the dolls look so delicate with their waif like limbs.
Now, what I don't like are the tiny-eyed customs. sure, they're really well done, but they're offputting. DX But that's okay, I'm not buying them.

I think everyone's customs are wonderful... I like seeing how different people interpret a doll's facemold and turn it into so many different and unique things! Big eyes, small eyes, lots of make up, au naturel, whatever... I love seeing people's creativity with these dolls. :D

There are a few realistic MH customs I like, but they are few and far between. I much prefer the cartoony style they originally had over anything realistic.This. The more realistic dolls - both MH customs and the actual BJDs and such - tend to creep me out. It's the uncanny valley effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley).

Are there pics of the Draculaura herself somewhere? From what I can see of her in that pic, I really like her, but I want to see what the rest of her looks like to decide. I don't want the car (I'm dreading finding out the price, I'm sure it's not cheap) but my mom does have a J.C. Penney credit card, so depending on how she looks, I may have to pick up the set and sell the car.

As for the picture stealing, that's a big no no. I hope everyone's stolen pictures get taken down. If I ever posted photography of my MH Doll's I know for sure, I'll be unloading a whole bunch of watermarks all over the picture so no one can steal it or claim it as their own. XDMost of the images on that FB are *are* watermarked.

Has there been any leaks/info about another release of Venus? I can't remember if it was her, Robecca (which I'm guessing it's her since the info about the dance class is above this post.) or both of them that's getting another release in a new line. I was just bragging to a friend about you guys<3 Saying how you are all so helpful and THE BEST community. I just love it here. Whenever I venture away and try to read other websites, I always cringe and come running back. It's so hard to find sites with punctuation, and good grammar, and capital letters, and reliable information, and on, and on, and on.
Sometimes I feel guilty because I'm not a pony person, and only joined the Arena to be apart of the Dollhouse:( I wish I could be a better member by being involved with ponies, but another collection might kill me (definitely my husband!)

I missed the postie by like 30 seconds! I was home all day and he waited until I was out doing the school run to show up! He was next door as we got home, and there was a "card to collect - no one home (signature required)" slip in the mailbox. By the time I'd gotten the kids in the house, he was way up the road. I have a feeling he wouldn't have handed over the package anyway due to some rule or another, though.
Now I've got to wait till tomorrow so I can go pick up my package from the distribution center. I've got a couple of items coming, so I'm not sure which one it is. Possibly the second set of tights I bought on eBay.
EDIT: Must be patient. Besides, when I got to my daughter's classroom, I was told she'd just thrown up a few minutes before. She is my priority right now, not a package with some more toys in it. I just wanted to whine a little bit about how I'd only *just* missed the postie.

So I grabbed her as there were no Ghouls Rule dolls there I wanted. She's very cute with the fanned out skirt and bow :Ddid you dip her in ice water after the boiling water to set it?

I picked up a Venus today :) I was a little torn about her, but once I saw her in person I really wanted her. There were about five on the shelf (and all of them looked really nice) and one Robecca.

I sent it and they said they are going to replace me the dolls. I offered to give them USA address to ship but they wanted to ship them straight to Finland for me. Today I got a call from FedEx that my package has arrived to the customs and Mattel has even paid the customs fees for me :shocked: FedEx has picked up the package and they are gonna deliver it to me tomorrow.
From the start, I was prepared to find someone in US to receive the dolls, ship them to me at my cost and pay the custom fees, I didn´t even dream that Mattel would do all of this for me. When I get my package tomorrow, I´m gonna send a thank you- message to Mattel.
I can´t believe this. I´m so extremely happy with Mattel now. This is an example of great customer service :ohyeah:

Lucky! The more I see the new version of School's Out Lagoona, the more I want to exchange my original for a new one. I like the new one faceup better. She has prettier eyes, softer freckles, and less lipstick.

I acccually replaced my original Lagoona for the wave 2 because of her bigger lips. I love them, it makes her face looks less "apple" in my opinion ^__^
The big lips were really off-putting for me. So much so that I wiped off her lipstick and repainted it (http://www.flickr.com/photos/pukunui81/7696728220/in/set-72157629753093226/). I did like that she had one eyebrow higher than the other until I realized that her left eye was higher as well. I was disappointed to find that my actual doll didn't really look that much like the one in all the official promo shots. I think this rerelease version looks more like that one, which makes me happy.Since you said you like the rerelease better, I'm almost tempted to ask you if you'd like to trade. I personally find yours gorgeous and like her focused look a smidgen more than the sweet, spaced out look of mine.
On a side note, I was looking at the CAM sea monster's leg fins the other day and it occurred to me that Lagoona's fins face the wrong way. Both the sea monster's and Gil's leg fins are streamlined for moving forward through the water, whereas Lagoona's would be more conducive for moving backwards in the water. I'm thinking I might try turning my Lagoonas' fins around to see what it looks like.This has bothered me since like the beginning of time. My DDG Lagoona arrived, and while there's nothing technically wrong with her, her expression isn't working for me. It looks like she's looking up, at a point somewhere above my head, instead of straight on. It's almost a creepy effect, as horror-movie-obsessed me keeps imagining she's watching a ghost up there... So yeah, this girl is getting exchanged for one of her clones if I find one with a more neutral expression.My Clawds are both looking up quite a lot, and I find it rather annoying because their heads don't bend forward, so I can't ever get them to look straight forward without making them lean forward at the waist. Some of the others also look up, but to a lesser extent.

I can't find any way to contact the user directly. I *have* just sent tumblr a copyright infringement notice. Hi, I would like some advice and I don't know where else to ask but here so..
In my country the dolls are very pricey and we do not get exclusives, and I don't have paypal so I can't buy overseas(shipping to my country is also quite expensive). So I was lucky to find an online seller on Facebook who has pre-orders of various products from the US and back in late August the seller had put the "I <3 Fashion" dolls available on pre-order. That time I pmed the seller to just ask for the price (php1800 aka 43usd each and even allowed to lower it to 1700php as last price) so I can save up for them and did not order yet as I did not have the cash yet to be confident on ordering.
Now that I have enough money to buy them I decided to ask the seller again how much overall for the 2 dolls and noticed she raised the price (php1900-45usd for each doll). I asked if I can order them for the price she originally told me (43usd each) because something as low as 2 dollars is a bigger amount here. So I asked her why she raised the price and told me that apparently, she was thinking of the other dolls (the basic dolls probably) she also had up for order that time back in August when I first asked her how much the 'I <3 Fashion' dolls were. After a failed attempt to haggle with her I asked her to recall her message back in august and told me her past conversations could only go back up to September and her facebook was glitchy. I got confused so I just advised her that she should be careful and not make the same mistake in pricing with other people to not confuse them as well, and she took it as an insult and told me that her other buyers were ok with the price markups and understood her when she told them. I understand that MH dolls are hot on the market, beggars can't be choosers and I understand that she also has to pay for taxes w/shipping overseas so I don't think her prices are unreasonable, but I want to know if what I did (asking for the old price) and what I told her afterwards was wrong. (Sorry for the length)

I can't find any way to contact the user directly. I *have* just sent tumblr a copyright infringement notice. In my country the dolls are very pricey and we do not get exclusives, and I don't have paypal so I can't buy overseas(shipping to my country is also quite expensive). So I was lucky to find an online seller on Facebook who has pre-orders of various products from the US and back in late August the seller had put the "I <3 Fashion" dolls available on pre-order. That time I pmed the seller to just ask for the price (php1800 aka 43usd each and even allowed to lower it to 1700php as last price) so I can save up for them and did not order yet as I did not have the cash yet to be confident on ordering.
Now that I have enough money to buy them I decided to ask the seller again how much overall for the 2 dolls and noticed she raised the price (php1900-45usd for each doll). I asked if I can order them for the price she originally told me (43usd each) because something as low as 2 dollars is a bigger amount here. So I asked her why she raised the price and told me that apparently, she was thinking of the other dolls (the basic dolls probably) she also had up for order that time back in August when I first asked her how much the 'I <3 Fashion' dolls were. After a failed attempt to haggle with her I asked her to recall her message back in august and told me her past conversations could only go back up to September and her facebook was glitchy. I got confused so I just advised her that she should be careful and not make the same mistake in pricing with other people to not confuse them as well, and she took it as an insult and told me that her other buyers were ok with the price markups and understood her when she told them. I understand that MH dolls are hot on the market, beggars can't be choosers and I understand that she also has to pay for taxes w/shipping overseas so I don't think her prices are unreasonable, but I want to know if what I did (asking for the old price) and what I told her afterwards was wrong. (Sorry for the length)
I'd also like to know if it is still worth ordering from her since she is the currently the only way (that I know of) to acquire the dolls I wanted (since I don't have a debit or credit card yet).

My mom thinks I'm a bit odd for still "playing" with dolls and MLP, I'm 27 btw, but on an outing she got my a surprise...A DT Draculaura. Which is nice and awesome of her..except I don't collect the main line of dolls. I only collect the CaM sets. I thanked her profusly but told her I don't collect that type and she said she'd take it back and we could look for the right kind together! It's going to be a good mother-daughter bonding thing I hope..She thinks the dolls are spooky.. I guess they remind her of the Chucky dolls...I think that if they should be likened to horror film dolls they'd be more like the puppets from The Puppet Master...
But it made me all warm and fuzzy that mom tried to get me something nice like that... Just wanted to share...

Aw that's wonderful! :heart: I'm the same age and I also hear the you're weird/odd thing from people :blush: But my mom has always been a doll collector too, so she "gets it" (less so ponies, and she isn't into spooky things, but still XD) It is super fun to take your mom doll-hunting (and have her treat you!), makes you feel like a kid again :D

I have ordered a pair of shoes from the seller as well. The shoes are hard plastic and fit on the loose side (you really need to have the doll wearing socks or leggings to keep the shoes snug). They are very pretty and nicely made in my opinion even if they aren't a soft plastic.

As you can see, the red shoe has a big crack in it, the cola shoe has a small crack, and the pearl shoe was so tight it left gouge marks in my sea monster's foot (and still wouldn't go on). The shoes that didn't crack were also so tight I couldn't get the dolls' heels in all the way.
Your red shoe looks exactly like mine. Along with the crack. thankfully it pushes in and stays kinda hidden.There's no hiding the cracks with mine. When I put the shoes on, it pushes them out.

Ohhh, that's great news! I love those red sparkly shoes so much...Pretty sure I have them favourited. *A*Yes, I really like them too. They were meant to be my witch's ruby slippers. You can imagine my dismay when the left one cracked as soon as I put it on her foot.
So, if you heat the shoes up to get them on, do you have to heat them to get them safely off?I don't know. I don't think so. I think the idea is that if you leave them on the foot as they cool down, they retain the shape of the foot rather than the mold or whatever so they'll fit better. I haven't tried yet. I will report when I do so.

That makes a lot of sense actually...means that if you have a store like DG you can get them for $15 but if you don't you have to pay $20 - $25 at mattel.com ...sneaky sneaky...
I saw Classroom Lagoona at TRU today...was tempted but...I'm trying to save money and she just didn't have the wow factor for me; though I love her jewelry and the fishnet accents, I just can't justify spending that much for a few little items. I may yet cave though, I really want her earrings and bracelet.

*double facepalm* Just realized I said Classroom--I meant School's Out (the second Signature version). I LOVE Classroom Lagoona...and I thought the necklace was a molecule too! I'm a big science nerd and the classroom version was one of the dolls that caught my eye first before I started collecting.Oh! Well, if you change your mind let me know then! I think, when I get the gorgon/mummy set, I might use the mummy pieces with the gorgon hair.They must be slightly different subspecies. Or, you know, gorgons could be one of those species where the males and females look different ... Just sayin'!

Just about everything on that site has been stolen from the factories. So yes, that eBay seller most likely is selling stolen goods. Some people just don't care. I'm sure some people even get a thrill out of it.
Yeah, that's why I quit buying stuff from TaoBao :c Hasbro and Mattel can't improve their products if they aren't getting any money! Still, that Lagoona is tempting; are those TENTACLE ballet shoes??? @_@I asked a Hasbro rep about Taobao once - back when that prototype G4 Minty was making the rounds - and they said there's nothing on that site that's legit (at least in terms of their own products) and that they're trying to do something about it ... I don't think there's really anything they can do about it other than pay their factory workers well enough that they don't feel the need to steal stuff and sell it on the black market. And while those of us with scruples can stand on principle and say we won't buy anything from places like Taobao, there are too many people out there who are too greedy to care. They want something that no one else has, or they want it before everyone else has it. :(
The dolls look real the art just looks a little.. off... to me somehow, i dunno maybe they changed it slightly.

I'm so happy Deuce is getting a new doll.I hope he has articulated wrists. It's hard to tell from that tiny, pixelated picture, but it looks as though he doesn't, which would be annoying. If it turns out he does, though, then I'll most likely upgrade.

I'm from Michigan and I've never seen the Werewolf Sisters IRL:( I KNOW we got a small shipment when they were clearanced out, but I wasn't lucky enough to find a set. Since then, they haven't had a shelf space in the new layouts for MH, so who knows. I bought a set from someone here way back when. I've stopped obsessively checking them on Target's site, but that would be your best bet. Would anyone kindly post the Werewolf Sisters DCPI Target website thingy? I no longer have it :blush:
The more I look at that Dance Class Lagoona's outfit, the more I think it would look much better on Draculaura. Actually, it looks like Lagoona forgot her dance outfit and borrowed Lala's. It just doesn't suit Lagoona at all.

I think what I like most about the dance class dolls, is no Frankie, Lala, or Ghoulia! I'm glad they are rotating who we see so it won't be the same ones clogging the shelves as the sub-line winds down. Right now there are a lot of SS Ghoulia and Lala around here, and I always feel bad for them being left behind.No Abbey either! I like Abbey, but there have been too many variations of her already. For those that missed them the first time around, the Classroom dolls are apparently getting a re-release, however this time they won't be coming with their lockers. They've been popping up on ebay this way, and Walmart has new codes for them in their system.

What I never understood is why Ghoulia in a sports outfit, when in the episodes and her dairy is very clear she is slow and not good on sports, so why she is teaching it? that's very confusing. :shrug:It is actually explained in one of the episodes, she gets upset that the Zombies are always picked last for "dodgeball" and so she goes about proving that through her smarts [and math. The worst thing ever happened. I was trying to get off DT Clawdeen's head to put a necklace on her, and the peg broke and ended up totally inside her head. It took me a half hour to get it out. I was so terrified it would be stuck in there forever, or it was broken beyond repair. Thankfully the circle part was not broken completely and I managed to put things back together. But what if I hadn't? Then what are you supposed to do if the peg breaks?

Drama Draculaura does look kinda cute but do we *really* need another Draculaura doll? There are already more Draculaura dolls than any of the other characters, even Frankie. If they are going to expand the classroom assortment, I would prefer that they include other characters.

I feel so awful.. went to a different Walmart today (because we went to lunch with the person who regularly gives us rides to Walmart) to grocery shop and I actually found Wave 2 re-release Lagoona for my fiance, as he REALLY wanted her... got her home and her right shoulder can barely move it's so tight, the head band slipped off her to reveal AWFUL bald spots (from them not bothering to put plugs in) and super loose hip joints... we obviously contacted Mattel over it.. but I still feel so bad because my fiance really wanted her.. luckily her face up seems very similar to his Mad Science (School's Out has some added pink eye shadow and slight different colored lip stick) so MS looks awesome in School's Out's outfit.. but it's the principle of the thing, ya know?
We threw School's Out into MS's outfit for now and I pulled her hair up to the best of my ability until we know what Mattel is gonna do... of course we really don't wanna have to return her to Mattel as he wanted the outfit and we'll never find a new one at our local store, bleh. /end rant.

The Scaris line is going to be split, with some being in the larger deluxe boxes and the rest being in the thin boxes at a lower price point. :) Frankie, Clawdeen, Rochelle, Jinafire, and Skelita are all deluxe dolls, while the more economical dolls will be Draculaura, Ghoulia, Abbey, and Deuce. It'll be interesting to see the packaging on Catrine and how much Walmart plans on charging for her.

They're making you pay for shipping? They asked me to return my GR Frankie before they'd send me a replacement, but they were kind enough to send me a prepaid shipping label.They're e-mailing us a normal return label and explained we need to get a box/bubble mailer to ship it out and we have to pay for proof of mailing. To be honest we're a little annoyed and are considering it out of sheer frustration and being able to keep the stuff from the doll, but I'm trying to do SOMETHING with the hair to make it look not so thin on the top. We also realized after the fact we lack a printer so it would be kinda hard to print out the label...
I'm super confused about what the Walmart scavenger hunt actually entails, but I checked and three stores near me are doing it. Hopefully more details will emerge soon, because all I can gather right now is I need to be at walmart on x date XDlol watch it be the finale of the event, everyone participated will get their first chance to pick up a Catrine and buy her, but once they go to retrieve her- THEY'RE ALL GONE CAUSE THE SCALPERS GOT TO EM WHILE THEY WERE DOING THEIR SCAVENGER HUNT!!! I liked Heath and Abbey in Ghouls Rule and it really made me want a Heath doll. I just wish Heath didn't have to save Abbey and they could have just let her save him and have him learn to be ok with being saved by a girl (if that makes sense).I agree, but I think it was also a case that Heath felt he needed to be "even" with her as well. I think it also had to do with the fact that he only had to be saved from problems he caused lol. And Abbey saved his butt more than once!

If I had to rate it, I'd give it at least an 8 out of 10. I thought it was pretty good and "silly/stupid-cute". To me, it's the best MH special. Liked it more than I thought I would. I generally liked the normies, especially Claire (goth girl) and her friend Chad.
I also liked how Jackson got some good attention and whatnot in the movie. I know it's a bit of a running joke/gag, but it always did bug me how Jackson would seem to get "the short end of the stick" in comparison/favor to Holt. But I may be biased because he's my favorite male MH character. :heart:
I will say, the characters sure have a weird/funny way of dancing in the movie. xD

They're making you pay for shipping? They asked me to return my GR Frankie before they'd send me a replacement, but they were kind enough to send me a prepaid shipping label.They're e-mailing us a normal return label and explained we need to get a box/bubble mailer to ship it out and we have to pay for proof of mailing. To be honest we're a little annoyed and are considering it out of sheer frustration and being able to keep the stuff from the doll, but I'm trying to do SOMETHING with the hair to make it look not so thin on the top. We also realized after the fact we lack a printer so it would be kinda hard to print out the label...

I chuckled a bit when when I noticed the CG team made him sparkle (ugh, thank you Twilight).

I wasn't a fan of Rochelle's voice in the special. Erin Fitzgerald (who also voices Abbey, Cupid, and Spectra), I love her and feel that she's normally a perfect fit for the characters she portrays, but I think that her Rochelle voice just sounded too similar to the voice she uses for Abbey. I also imaged the character a bit softer and higher pitched. I wonder if Erin was just a stand-in for now, since Rochelle didn't have many lines, or if she's the permanent voice actress for her?

as for the dance class, getting Lagoona and a couple of Howleens. Yay cheap howleens.
Now that I've seen those new pics of Dance Class Howleen, I definitely want her. She's adorable. I'll have to find or make another outfit for her, though. I don't like her pajama outfit. I love Lagoona's face up, but I'm still not liking the outfit. I just see those colors, and think of Draculaura. I think if I don't manage to get a Classroom Lagoona when they're re-released, then I'll pick up Dance Class Lagoona instead.
And seeing Scaris Draculaura out of the box, she doesn't look as pretty as the promo pic, so I'm going to pass on her. It's probably for the best anyhow, since I already have a Lala, and I have limited room for dolls.

That's weird that they're making you send her back at your expense. I've complained about two of my dolls so far, and both times I was sent a replacement right away (like I got the shipping confirmation email at the same time as the email from customer service) without having to send anything back to them. The first time I just told them all the issues I had with the doll (hair falling out, knee that wouldn't turn, head that won't tilt forward, etc) and pretty much just let them know that I think they should have more quality control for the dolls and they apologized and said they're going to send me a replacement. Then the second time, I contacted them because Spectra's arm was badly bent/curved and wanted to know if they had replacement arms for her that they could send me. They said they didn't have them for her, but would send me a new Spectra.We've gotten quite a few replacements (all without having to return anything + one voucher, but it's been under one or the other for names because it's been split between our dolls).. though this might be because we did it via the chat, as they asked us to do that as they didn't know which Lagoona they were talking about (despite us putting the correct product number, mind you!). But yes, it seems to be all over the place with how they handle their customer complaints because people have either had to send them back or not send them back and it's so.. spotty how they ask. I just wish it would be one blanket thing :|.
Both cases were this month (Oct. 4th for Rochelle and Oct. 11th for Spectra) so if they changed their policy, apparently not everyone got the memo. Out of curiosity, how did you contact them? Both times, I went to this page: http://service.mattel.com/us/ContactUs.aspx and clicked on "Email Us" at the bottom of the page. Maybe the people who cover emails don't have the same policies as the ones covering chat or phone complaints? Have you ever complained and had them send you a replacement before? I figure they must have a list of people who have complained before and maybe you get so many before they make you return the dolls?
I like Scaris Lala's skirt ... which happenes to be a recolored version of Ghoulia's fashion pack skirt, which I quite like. I might have to get a Scaris Lala just for her skirt. LOL.

The only thing I don't like about Robecca (besides that terrible ponytail, but it can be washed out) is that it looks like her skin is lighter than the Signature release :( I hope that's just the photography, because her dress is super cute, and if her top and skirt end up being separate pieces too I might just lose it.

It kind of looks to me like each ghoul is wearing a leotard with a skirt over top (or in Howleen's case, leggings underneath)... I really want that to be the case! More adaptability, plus leotards are cute :satisfied:

Am I the only one a little concerned about the fact that there are no new Cleo dolls speculated to come out soon? All we've gotten lately are Ghouls Rule. I am a huge Cleo fan, and with the recent trip to Scaris, and all of the Rochelle/Deuce drama, I'm just a little concerned..... I am totally siding with Cleo!
Does Howleen fit on the same stands the other dolls come with? I want Dance Class Howleen when she comes out, but I would need to get a stand for her since I only have a small part of my desk for displaying my dolls and so they all have to stand. I know she's smaller, so that's why I was wondering if she fits ok on the stands the other dolls come with.

I FOUND ROBECCA! I manned up and got up early and was at walmart by 10 am. they had so much stock! I originally went to get the ddg three pack with hopes of seeing Robecca or Venus and they were all there. Broke me could only pick one, and Venus had a wonky eye, the three pack was 13$ more, and Rpbecca was just too GROGEOUS to put down. *sigh* She's even better in real life. I actually haven't seen any Cleos in awhile. Way back I remember always seeing tons of the Cleo/Deuce set and I remember thinking she wasn't as popular, but I think that maybe it was actually just the price of the set that kept it around for ages.
What always bothered me about Cleo is how she always has tinsel in her hair. I hate tinsel. Plus, she seems to look cock-eyed a lot more than any other character.
I would love to have the Cleo/Deuce 2-pack and all the great drama photos I could get with them and Rochelle :) :devious:

so much here about Deuce and Cleo separating lol... Maybe its not something like that... It could be for some reason she has to stay behind. I can't seem to get excited about the DDG singles. I've seen them dozens of times, and can't force myself to buy them. AND I BUY THEM ALL! I dislike the sheer parts of the dresses, the huge dots, and the hairstyles aren't doing anything for me either.
I plan to buy a second set of dresses to alter. Take the sheer stuff off.

I'm right there with you rayedelsol. Cleo's one of my absolute favorites of the ghouls and it's been bumming me out that she's getting the short end of the stick lately. In my neck of the woods at least, I've noticed that pretty much every release of her has sat around on shelves unfortunately, so Mattel may not be seeing much of a demand for her at the moment when compared to the rest. :/
The TRU shelves are full of poor Cleo and I've seen several kids pass on her for some of the more colorful monsters.

THIS! There are two different Monster High doll listings in my area, and the one seller responded once to me to tell me she wasn't in my town, and that's it. I never heard from the other one. Once I called a lady about ponies she had listed because the ad said to, and she acted like it was completely bizarre that I was calling. My boyfriend is convinced that craigslist is all murderers, and I think they're all flakes.

How do you guys deal with the tabs in the dolls' heads (that connect the head to the backcard)? Do you pop the head off and pull the tab out that way? Sand it down? Cut it as short as possible? How do I save myself from these things?!I usually try to pull them out with pliers. When that doesn't work, I cut them short and push them in.

Another question. Do you guys take your dolls out and about with you like BJD hobbyists tend to do with their dolls?I have taken them out specifically for on-location photoshoots, but I don't take them with me just when I go out shopping or whatever. I'm too embarrassed to be seen in public with them, even with my daughters around (mostly because I know I wouldn't be able to get away with pretending I was taking a photo of their dolls because they'd make it quite clear to anyone who asked that the dolls belong to me not them).

I recently got sig Operetta, and while I was pleased to find she had plastic hip joints, I was surprised to find that they were different colors. One is white, the other is green. All my other dolls with plastic hips have matching joints. Anyone else have a doll with mismatched hip joints? Just curious really.

I love MH shoes. They're very inventive and they almost always go really well with the doll's theme.
I used to have 5" platforms whose soles were shaped like waves and they had a star punch-out in the heel. That's as close to crazy heels I have ever gotten. I think mine were closed at the top, but besides they looked like this.

Not a fan of the Skull Shores Cleo myself. The only other one I'd consider getting is DotD Cleo, but I've already got her outfit by itself and it looks pretty rad on SO Cleo, so I'm good. I only need one Cleo. Oh, and most of the tinsel has come out of my Cleo's hair, although I didn't deliberately take it all out at once ... it was just that every time I've brushed her hair, another strand of tinsel has gone scraggly or come apart into separate pieces, and so I end up ripping that bit out. Now she mostly just has the dark brown and teal streaks in her black hair, which I really like. Gives her a bit more color. Oh, and I got lucky and found a doll whose eyes aren't so far apart that they make her look wall-eyed.So much agreement! (Though Skull Shores gives her a run for her money... if anyone has one for sale, I am looking!). OMG yes! She's a really edgy doll, and her colour scheme (when they remember to add the teal) is so striking! (Arranges a little love-in for Cleo on the boards). There's no reason why she has to look less like a monster than the other girls!I think what people keep forgetting is that both Cleo and Nefera are mummies and that they have to have at least one bandage on them at all times or else they crumble to dust. So while they themselves might not look like mummies, if you remember to keep some bandages on them no matter what other kinds of clothes you put on them, then there's still a little bit of something monstrous about them ...
I still see them as Mummies, but if they painted on like a bandage wrap/s on either of their wrists/forearms or ankle/calves that might be a good way to give her a more Mummy-ish look. Seeing them with only the Eye of Rahish style eye and diamond beauty mark, the first thing that would pop into my head if I had no knowledge of MH would be that they're normies with Egyptian heritage or something.

I decided to keep the first one, bald spot and all, but there's still a lot I don't like about Venus in general. I don't like her shoes (or her pants for that matter); I don't like those vine things that wrap around her arms and legs; and while I do like her shaved head (and her multi-pierced ear), I don't like how long the rest of her hair is. I think I'd have preferred a proper Mohawk like DotD Lagoona's.

On a different note, I am curious to find out more about the Swim line Venus. I wonder if she will still have flocking on her head. Just seems to me like swimming + flocking isn't such a great idea. I mean, how many kids would see "swim line" and think "Oh, I can play with them in the bath!" and so they plonk their Venus in the water and ... "Mommy! She's going bald!"
Also I'm curious too! I can see that happening.. "Oh she's in a swimsuit!!! She can go in the tub with me!!! YAY!" suddenly your kid is covered in pink flocking, the doll is bald, it's stuck to your tub or something and a parent is upset. :/

Or with exposure to water in general? Or am I ok if I work around the flocking and just give it a rinse under the tap?I've got a bald spot in my Venus' flocking from exposure to steam while I was boil straightening her hair. I have also heard of people losing all of Clawd's flocking just by getting it wet, so I wouldn't get his head anywhere near water if I were you!

One thing about the new deluxe fashion packs. If I understand correctly the middle one is supposed to be for Robecca? On first glance I thought "Frankie" and I can't really seem to find any specific details that connects to Robecca, do you find any? :S
And the skirt for Operettas pack looks a lit like Clawdeens Club skirt. And all the accessories in the small fashion packs are re-pros of earlier stuff *disappointed* :'( Serves me right for looking forward to them for so long...

In all fairness he was kinda lusting after her too, while being in a relationship with Cleo. I read her diary and it doesn't say anything about Deuce, unless you mean the Scaris one. And Cleo bugs me to no end. I don't see that as such a bad thing myself. It creates a more natural way to have a convo. Duece doesn't have to worry about turning her to stone, and Duece is a great guy. If he's interested in Rochelle (which I don't think he is) he's a decent enough guy to be up front and honest about it. Besides, sometimes we just find ourselves having chemistry with a person, relationship or none. Just because it starts off as a bit of a crush doesn't mean that it has to stay that way. Rochelle has even confided her feelings in someone else, who told her that it was heading for heart break. Lonely, in a new place, looking for where she fits in? I'd say she could be cut some slack. Personally, I don't care as I do not "follow" any of the various continuities. I don't watch the webisodes, I've never read the books, and I only like to read the diaries to get some insights and inspiration for the MH world in general. My Rochelle is dating my Scottish gargoyle boy, Flint, while Deuce and Cleo are happily together, and I don't have any plans to alter those relationships in my photos.
That being said, I can sympathize with Rochelle. I know how hard it is to maintain a long distance relationship.
Plus we don't really know anything about this Garrote guy. Who says he's been faithful to her in her absence? Perhaps she will discover that he's moved on while she's been away ... ^.^From my experience, usually right when the doors open, or during a time when most people are at work or school. Also handy if you can find out whenever they get new shipments in and on the shelves, like with TRU. As far as Walmart goes, I'd had the best luck whenever I'd go to the store while they're re-shelving/restocking the toys and have the boxes/cases out (like around 11pm to 2am, if you have a 24/7 store near you).

I would say it depends on what store(s) you are going to. If I am going to TRU I go the morning of their shipments, which is different for different locations, right away when they open. As for other stores its hard to say because they get random shipments of toys in any day of the week. I would say skip Sunday since I believe walmart at least does not get shipments of anything then, and I believe Tuesday is the other day Walmart doesn't get shipments. Not sure about Target though. Supercenters of those stores typically seem to get more in selection wise as well, at least in my area. Hope that helps a little bit!

Has anyone done the Walmart scavenger hunt? MH's post on facebook led me to believe that the exclusive content was just freebie stuff given out to anyone participating, but wasn't the whole thing. That could just be me reading more into it though.A number of people on Facebook have said it was complete and utter crap.

It's been explained to me that the new characters in the Scaris line aren't Signatures. Kinda like Gil in the Skull Shores line. That's why they don't come with pets:( I guess if Skelita and Jinafire transfer to MH, they'll eventually be released with pets and a diary......

No sign of them. There were murmurs of the CAM sets being released in September here but alasMmm. Ah well, at least you guys get the exclusives. We don't have Target or TRU in NZ, so no exclusives for us.
Yeah I think it's kinda annoying too. On the other hand, I think of the price point that they would likely be... :P but people would probably be willing to pay it anyway

These two new cams look great. It's just going to be a pain to find similar looking arms and torsos. I suppose the sea monster and three eyed ghoul parts might be a close match?

Since Harpeas wings aren't a part of her arms I will continue my Idea of making a Harpea out of a Cleo doll.
But Harpy CAM will turn into Harpeas Cousin; Beacky XD
I hope these CAMs get released ASAP! Assuming that they'll have those hard capped heads, I wonder, has anyone figured out how to rehair those type of CAMs? That harpies face is so gorgeous that she just deserves to be rehaired!I figured out how to if you're willing to mutilate a wig. I saw a tutorial online and modified what they did. Basically, I popped that hard piece out, cut the hair off the wig, snipped the peg off, and trimmed out a circle to fit the hole in her head. Then I superglued that in and voila!
Now if only they'd make a Plant girl CAM Set!!! MUST HAVE!!

I bet the siren would look good with the ice girl torso that's coming out.I thought that too.. but those parts are translucent (at least as of this point in promo shots), I'd think that look a little off with the head/forearms/hands.

I think I'm actually looking fotward to Skelita (sp?). If she had been just a plain skull, I would have passed. But I love sugar skulls. I will be changing her outfit for sure though. I mean, when you see pictures of sugar skulls, you see beautiful dresses. The dress she is wearing is just boring:/she's a calaca. sugar skulls are usually candy.

Aw, I was casually looking at Mattel's shop.. and saw their Free shipping + 10% off promotion for playsets and clicked for me "Holy crap, Coffin Bean is a playsetyhaetgasgasgdsadg" because I REALLY want that Clawdeen and heck, having a cute little set up for me to well, set up and photograph would give me more to do! So I threw it in the bag and saw with the promotion it comes out to ~$27 instead of $30 .. but no Pay After Delivery and I won't have enough until AFTER the promotion ends (the 24th, Wednesday, btw). So I'd say if you want the set take advantage of it! I believe that makes it cheaper than Walmart? I think my Walmart had it marked for ~$28 before tax.. so...

My mom has a Wal-Mart credit card with a pretty high limit so she's letting me buy MH and MLP stuff on it and make payments on it. It makes it a lot easier to afford everything since all the new stuff tends to all come out at once, so instead of having to pay for everything at once, I can spread the payments out.

I use crayola model magic. It light weight and it air drys. Takes a little bit to get used to working with it but i've been using it since i was a kid. Good luck!

am i late to the party on the fact that CaM boy fet are removeable or did everyone know but me? o_O;I discovered that when I put Deuce's DotD shoes on my CAM gargoyle and then, because they haven't got a slit at the back, when I tried to take them off, the gargoyle's feet came with them! LOL.
