I think it's because the majority of the people who "like" the lalaloopsy page are concerned parents of 3 year olds, since that's the age range lalaloopsy is marketed towards... apparently some people haven't heard of toys marketed towards older girls.

I think Una Verse is my favorite... Her legs though, is it filled with water as well as glitter or just some cool effect on colored plastic? I worry for the longevity (physically) of these dolls if they are filled with any liquid. x_X

Haha yeah sometimes I need to sit back and remember that these toys are aimed at children, not collectors. (But when we have toys from our childhood that have lasted several decades and it seems as though toys made for children nowadays would be lucky to last even 10 years, it kinda burns. xD)

You think $19.99 is bad? Try £19.99 - which is equal to $31 USD. That's how much Novi Stars are being sold for at Argos in the UK. Yeah, I know, import rates, blah de blah - but it's still crazy. Bratzillas are also being sold for £24.99 ($39 USD), which is ridiculous considering their flaws. It's crazy what these companies expect their customers to pay (whether in the US or internationally).
They could have done one that changes color when touched or in the sun.

I've seen them in person!! It goes up into her chest and stops just under her arm-socket. The glitter will move around, but it takes some turning and tapping to get it to move the first time. I don't know if her shoes come off..... I'm scared to force them, and the stand kinda *clicks* into them.
Sad face. I noticed this evening that Una's ring has fallen off :( Now she has this tiny hole in her hand. If I ever find that thing, I am going to super glue it to her hand!
Still no fashion packs at my Target. :( So far Target is the only one in my area that has Novi Stars. I also noticed today that the in-town-Target is not going to carry Una Verse.... glad I got mine at the across town [on the beach]

I adore my Una Verse. She's more of a desk mascot for me. I think that just because a lot of us got spoiled with jointed dolls that because they weren't jointed brushed these cuties off.

I've seen a lot of Blythe customs and most have the original body. I have seen some using Obitsu bodies as they are very posable. If these dolls were to gain as much popularity as Brats, Barbie and MH dolls, we could see a lot more interesting ideas.

Okay, 3 complaints:mine was really hard to get out too! I destroyed the box in the process....
1: THE BOX IS STUPID. It's hard to get to her. Is there supposed to be a science to this?
2: Hair is thinly rooted in the back, but I guess it's not too bad because you can brush the hair in the way. She's also got iffy box hair.
3: NO BRUSH DX Thankfully I have craptons of MH brushes. Hehe.
BUT SHE IS SO PRECIOUS. I loove the size. I missed it in the pics, but she has little ringed planets in her eyes. TOO CUTE.

My boyfriend was walking back from the gaming section at TRU (he always splits once we reach the girly aisles, lol) and I heard him shout "It begins!" as he saw me going though the Novi Stars. I told him that I just wanted the one and then we both laughed because I've that before....;)
They had about 6 each of Una and Ari and no sign of Alie or Mae. You guys weren't kidding about the packaging being a nightmare to open, they practically sew the dolls straight into it. I ended up restyling her hair and gave it some curls.

Una seems to be the most popular of these girls and I totally get why since I have her myself lol.

Each of the dolls have a novel effect. Alie Lectric is the one who lights up (a little changing light is attached to her backpack that is inserted into her back and lights up through her translucent body), Ari has a body covered in purple glitter and is scented, etc.

Thought I'd post a warning to be careful when opening the Novi Stars Secret Pets.
The antennas aren't actually attached to the animal. They're just sitting at the top of the pod. So if you pop yours open (like I did with mine), the antennas may go flying. I had to hunt around my plush carpet on my hands & knees looking for one, but I found it! :lookround:

Weird.. I've never had a problem with Una's stand. Only that she kind of tips over to the front from time to time. Other than that.. nope. I love these dolls but the fact that they can't sit down or move their legs bugs me and keeps me from not spending much time with them. I still plan to get at least two more though!

I bought Una yesterday and the glitter in her legs seems to be uneven. It's all clumped together too so it won't float around like it should. I'm not sure if they'd consider it a defect. Has anyone ever contacted MGA about stuff like this? Will they send a replacement like Hasbro (they replaced my Fluttershy for free) and do you have to send the doll to them first if they do? I didn't notice the flaw until I got home. :c
I'm really excited about this doll line. I love their eyes, especially the little symbols and it's nice to see a doll that has "real" eyelashes. Although I wish the quality was a little better (the hair is so messy) and the bios (and webisode) make me cringe. I'm going to see if I can find Alie tomorrow. I'm tempted to get Mae too. There were tons and tons of Ari at my TRU. I guess she's not as popular as the others.
I thought the webisode was cute but that is because they act exactly how real 11-12 year old girls act. I think almost all girls go through that stage, even I did at one time but replace Beiber with BSB. (they were much more talented so shut up) I outgrew that stage and turned out fine. I just don't know what happened to letting kids be kids (or teens be teens in this case) there is plenty of time in life to be serious and responsible and all that.

Has anyone seen new secret pets in stores? There is at least 4 new coming (Quax, Octogen, Raroo and Foxxi) and I can´t wait to see them! They are in stock at Amazon but no pics.

Just to let you know I went to Target today and other than Nita Light which is still at $20, the Novi Stars were only on sale for around $17.80. Which is both a really odd number to choose and not really much of a deal at all. :(

I got the all the Novi Stars for Christmas, and spent tonight styling them. I like them alot:) They are very different!

I just got Una and Mae on clearance at Walmart today. Love 'em!
I think Alie might be my favorite too:) I had to cut off an enormous amount of her hair, though. After I washed her up I noticed they tried to cut her hair a certain way, but failed so hard! So I got out my scissors, and cut, and cut, and cut! No regrets! She's so cute!
ETA: Oh and thanks for all the stand suggestions! I'll have to check out my craft stores!

I finally got Nita Lite (from that $11 special on Amazon) - she is soooo cute! I can't believe I resisted her for so long-
The "Pod" is kind of odd- it lights up in different colors when you turn it on and slowly rotates the doll (and a pet not included) around on stands- to make it look like they are floating.... reminds me a bit of the Moondreamers Dream Central... I don't think I will ditch it after all :D

Unfortunately my financial situation has prevented me from collecting these girls, or I would have snatched all of them up ages ago. However, the Walmarts in my area have been having them on sale for about thirteen dollars, so I went ahead and bought my personal favorite: Alie Lectric.
I must say that she's quite the cutie. The lack of articulation doesn't really bother me since I plan to just display her instead of playing with her or anything.

Went to Target looking for MH fashion packs, came back with two new Novi Stars dolls and fashion packs. :P I picked up Malie and Nita yesterday.
Now the hard part: I have all the Novi Stars that have been released so far but they're MIB. Storage is starting to be an issue. Should I debox them? I'm worried about decreasing value and the dust they might collect. How do you remove dust from doll hair without washing it and ruining the style?

Also, do Malie's arms actually stretch or are they just flexible? If they stretch, is there any way to make them go back to their original length?
They are just flexible. No matter what you do with them, so long as you don't rip them, they'll always bounce back to their default position.

I deboxed three of my seven Novi Stars last night. It was hard, both literally and mentally, as I hated the idea of decreasing their values like that. But after getting the first out, I was so glad I did; more space to display, full exposure to their awesome hair, and, like the GameCube controller, it's fun to hold them. :3

I think it's just a wig for you (or a kid) to style & wear yourself... to pretend to be a Novi Star.
The faces in the box look kinda cute (I'm guessing that the one inside the box is a factory reject) but I have never cared for styling heads. The whole idea of a head without a body is creepy in a way. I almost wonder if the head would be compatible with any kind of body. I know there is a large jointed version of the China Doll from the OZ movie that is on the way. Hmmmm.

I had bought 3 novi stars at walmart for $16.00 a apiece. I was Honorably disappointed,
They completely fall apart. The arms pop off to dress them and un dress them, But they also fall off just being on their stand. the stand isn't secure I they fell of it all the time. The clothes are poor quality. you have to be careful of the sprayed glitter body because the glitter falls of..not too bad but it dose.
The water glob body have this bad habit of not allowing the shoes to come off because of glue seeping into the shoes. Dont brake it trying to take them off. if they don't come off then I wouldn't try unless you soke her in warm water. but I wouldn't risk that.
However the heads are pretty well made the rooted hair is really well done, But the wigs just become fly away. They are beautiful looking but a display doll only in my opinion. I wouldn't handle them much.
Poor quality, I returned them. i didn't want to, but I felt there was no point in keeping a poor quality doll.
Please don't think I am talking anyone out of buying them. I am just sharing my experience trying to collect them. and being disappointed..

i have read these complaints alot in reviews of novi stars..
i haven't had too many problems with mine, but
the arms do tend to be put on sort of loosely. My nita light will loose her arm if you are not careful with her.
I DO Think MGA could make them alittle better. For $20 ea i think that they are a bit pricey for what they are. I didn't pay that for mine so i am happy.
That said i only have a couple of the original ones, maybe sila, malie and tula are a bit better?
they seem alittle cheap when compared to quality of monster high, but I still LOVE mine and will continue to buy more.

I would try using an eyelash curler; the Novi Star lashes are long enough that a human-sized tool should work. If you don't have an eyelash curler already, you can get one in the beauty supply section of pretty much any store, for less than $10. Just don't squeeze it too tight when you're trying to fix the doll lashes, or it could crimp them - use gentle-ish pressure along the whole length of the lashes to get a nice curl. If the doll lashes still don't behave, you could warm the eyelash curler in some hot water first.

€36? ??? THAT IS RIDICULOUS!! I expected them to be €25 in europe (which is already ridiculous.. they're HARDLY worth €15). They'll flop.. they must flop. I hope nobody pays that much for one. o_o;

I was worried about Una leaking too- but she seems to be okay. I suspect she wouldn't hold up well with a big drop. I have my doubts that the liquid won't evaporate after many years (like so many goo filled things in the 80s). I guess you could inject new goo and seal it though (google snowglobe repair). I decided thats what I would do if it came to that... The beach Una doesn't have liquid filled legs.

I knew that some bodies were filled with stuff. I'm not interested in those because I just know that after a few years the liquid turns the insides yellow and then dries out. It's this magic wand/lava lamp idea that looks really cool but isn't made to last ^^#
I was interested if the dolls without "filling" would have hollow limbs. I heard all heads were hollow, that's why I asked.

Alas, not a troll, I am an authentic sauna elf. We Finns love our saunas and elves. :) I am very sorry though that I got your hopes up. I will keep my eyes open in case the store starts stocking the teenz too. Once again they are available at only one store and they cost more than the Novis! 39.90!

Galactica: Yes, the huge hands are a bit frog-like, but luckily there is another PN body that has the tiny hands and feet. i'm with you, though. I like their proportions, that's why I would love to try my hand at giving them a bit more posability.
The Orbit Beach dolls also have more space-y fashions in my opinion ^^ Such a shame they don't come with stands, though.

Yes, Malie is my number one on the wishlist. I just adore multi-limbed characters and she even has something like a fashion theme going on unlike the other girls who always look a bit mix'n'match to me.

So funny.. the companies I did work for always said the margin was large(r when compared to other branches). But it might depend on the toy. Most goes into design and conception, so maybe you have to invest more into dolls b/c of the clothes and such?! :0

My boyfriend wants the Multi Tasker(?) Doll. I almost fainted. I am not sure why he wants a doll with multiple arms LOL. Didn't even know he liked dolls...learn something new every day I guess. I have taught him the way of the ponies; but I am not familiar with Novi Stars that well I know I just like the blue one. Hope he doesn't want me to mysteriously grow 2 more arms...

I wouldn't push it with the hollow ones, so I am more careful but still they seem semi-durable

Since they are called "Super Novas" I am wondering if this is an extra deluxe line ?
I'm not sure the "Invasion" ones (Ina and Anne) are going to be much cheaper than regular Novis since one of them lights up and I really don't think the pet affects the price much because it doesn't in Monster High either. I just have a suspicion that the "Super Novis" are just going to be bigger.
I was at Target today and the basic dolls were on clearance for $13.68, so I picked up Tula Toned. I didn't plan on ever getting her, but after opening her, I like her way more now!
Oh my! I've definitely decided I'm not going to debox my two new dolls. My first four girls had been taken out of the package, but were directly put into storage shortly before I moved... well, I tried to put them on display today, and those stands are awful! I keep pulling out their arms and heads just trying to get them to stand on the things. Ugh. And Mae's wig will NOT stay on her head. I set them all up 3 or 4 times, and then left the room, only to hear them come crashing down 5 minutes later from the livingroom. I finally got so frustrated that put them all in box, and closed them in the closet. Ugh. I'm so upset. I wish I had never deboxed them.
Sorry for the rant, guys.... I'm just really disappointed. :sad:
I like the clear rubberband idea, but the Orbit Beach line didn't come with stands so I'll have to come up with something for those girls anyway :rolleyes: Do Kaiser stands come in super tiny proportions? I have a few for bigger dolls. I never seen any that are smaller.

The orbit beach ones hips are nicer. They can actually sit.
I just picked up a couple of the new dolls!
There are some MAJOR improvements! The dolls fit much much much better into their stands- the feet and stands are redesigned.
The hip joints are more flexible too- and the arms don't pop out anymore.

I like that these dolls are so detailed and they seem a bit obscure (unlike the super popular Monster High Dolls).
I think lots of Targets do have them on clearance. Unfortunately, my Target has never had any dolls other than the very first series and they have never ever gone on clearance. :huh: So I've been watching Amazon, and when Justice clearanced their dolls- I got a second set to keep MIB.
I also ordered two of the new ones (Mimi and Tabre) from Walmart- they just arrived! Vera is definitely my favorite- she is so weird and bug-like- I love her to bits !

Any tips on how to display the dolls mib? They are not stackable and i have limited space.well i have a couple MIB and mine aren't stacked but against a wall. i think they need to lean on something LOL most ly i debox these because boxes are so freaking huge! but i try to keep a couple in the box :)

While I doubt sales will go up enough for them to consider new lines in the Spring I don't think we need to panic about the Fall ones yet. They produced a regular run of those at least. Maybe they will even pop up at TJ Maxx or Burlington.

I just got my Ari on Tuesday and deboxed her only to notice then that her other antennae was broken. It wasn't in the box, so she came broken. :(! Now I can't even return her, because she has been opened. Bleh, but it's OK, I like her anyway, although the smell is too much for me.

After some regretting about not getting Sila when I had the chance, I managed to find her on clearance at one of the nearby Wal-Marts. Was pretty excited to find her, since she turned out to be the one Novi I just had to have. I know that they're not discontinuing the line, but the dolls seem to be pretty unpopular in the area where I live. Toys R' Us only got the first four, the nearby Target stopped after Malie and Tula, and it looks like the nearby Wal-Mart isn't going to bother after Sila.

Ina Ferna was meant to arrive today as well, but she's a no show - hopefully she isn't too delayed. I also have Mimi Merize incoming, so now it's just a hunt for Vera and to decide if I want the Steller Skinz or not.
Phew. I don't know what to believe about the possible discontinuation/not discontinuation of this line. They certainly don't seem to be selling well over here, from what I can tell.

Yeah.. this may be second-hand info, but I heard that Headstart (the importer of Novi and Bratzillaz here) aren't going to do Novi in Australia anymore, hence the markdowns. This was from a company rep. Bites for me, we haven't gotten things like the fire and ice ones, the last new lot that came in were Tula Toned's wave
I wish the newer ones were sold in stores instead of the first wave. :/
Ok, total newbie here with Novi Stars!!! Ive been eyballing them about a year, we had sooo much that I knew they would mark them down in the clearance isle. Welll payday cones along and so does the 50% off everything in the clearance isle!! So I managed to grab 3 dolls for $3.50 each, and a Stellar Skinz for $4.50 each!! Theres only a Cila Clops left lol might go back up and get her!

Vera Tabray got delivered to my house last week. I was happy to finally get her! Now I have all of the dolls I want except maybe Nita light if I could get her cheap.

They are discontinued - meaning, they won't be making any more and most stores have stopped carrying them. If you want any, buy them now! Tula is my favorite, and I bet you won't regret getting such a unique doll. :)

I'm probably never going to have Ina and Anne. All I can afford to do this month is trades. And already they are on ebay for more than double retail which is redic since they were in stores less than a year ago.
I'm half tempted to just sell the dolls I have since it will always seem incomplete to me.

The Picco Nemo body looks pretty good, and it's jointed as well! The downside is you will have to paint it- I've seen a couple of customs based on this body

I'm not a Novi Stars collector really...I only have Tula right now, but it's because they never really show up here! I want Anne, Malie, and Vera SO bad...it's crazy. We still have 1st wave dolls sitting on the shelves.

I've done a hybrid with Tula on a CAM dragon body (I can show some pics if anyone is interested). The tail is very easy and fits into the CAM slot just fine, but the wings don't fit by default. I used some flat magnets to attach the wings and make them removable.

My TRU had Mae Tallick on for $5 so I bought her on a whim, and dangit, now I love this line! There are basically no Novi Stars left in Canada, but what about the US? Are exactly how hard is it to track down Mimi, Mali, and Vera?I'm in NY and I've never seen any of those in stores here. I dont think Mimi and Vera were ever available in my area. All the rest have since been clearanced and are gone. It's really too bad. This line is so cool and quirky.

Today I bought a Roe Botik for 15,90 euros! I'm so happy with her, even if she's got a few paint mistakes. And my Novi Stars collection is complete... with only two dolls LOL. But at least they are my two favourite ones :D
Well, I'll definitely be getting them! One of them is flocked! And one is a gummi! Other than that, they look a lot like what has already been produced sadly. But they are Super Novas which means they will be in the larger mold. I hope future dolls are a bit more unique

Well, some gimmicks are already 'recycled', like Una and Anne. Both are snowglobe aliens, but one has got stars and glitter and the other one snow.

There have been a few sets on ebay offered by Russian federation sellers- they seem to be selling for $169 (for all four) + $55 shipping (and up) - I was tempted but that is a lot!
I still have a teensie bit of hope that they will come out in the UK though- eventually. I mean, I think the Russian Federation (weirdly enough) got all of the Equestria Girls and new MLP stuff first too. The first news of new dolls (if not from Taobao) always seems to be on a Russian site.
They will no doubt still be expensive if they get to the UK, but hopefully less than $43 a piece plus $50 shipping...
I looked on Taobao- and didn't see any of the new girls. I don't think it would be good to buy them on Taobao anyway, as even the super easy to find ones are listed at really high prices! (Like $60+) - can't understand that.

It appears she didn't come with a stand and won't stand on her own. Can anyone recommend a suitable donor stand? The only other dolls I own are Equestria Girls (the less human-looking the dolls, the less creepy I find them it seems :lol: ) which are free-standing (with some jiggling). I've leant her against some books on my bookcase for now.
I'd be surprised if they don't come with the little plastic stand- since sticking them in those stands is the only way to keep them upright. If they truly don't have stands, my guess is that they will fit into stands of the other dolls- but I'd have to try each one to see who is compatible...
I don't think so - £20 is a lot of money for what the doll is, they wouldn't ever have sold for that amount of money, especially considering what other dolls in that price bracket come with. They're very visually striking, so it's a shame the line has apparently been discontinued.That would be awesome of you!
When I picked up my doll last weekend the person at the store said they had had such a massive delivery of them that they hadn't know what to do with all of them :lol: so it sounds like there may be a healthy stock . Some UK stores are a bit weird about "clearance", too. When the snowglobe princesses first appeared, they immediately went on clearance in Sainsburys despite being a brand new line :blink: aaaand Sainsburys still stock them six months later :shrug:
I won't be going near an Entertainer for a while , but I'll see if they have any Does left next time I go past :)

It's super disappointing but unsurprising :( Prototypes are made long before the product has to be mass-produced and they obviously realise once that becomes a factor that it's too expensive to mass-produce a toy that detailed (though, at the full price of £20 a go I reckon they could have tried a bit harder). Ponies are the same, and so are Japanese figures, and yeeah when you look at what could have been .... :lol:Also sometimes it's not about cost but about durability. Some of those joints look really fragile.

Weirdly - I think the Stellar Skins are STILL available at Walmart. I don't think they sold very well.
It is just as well you are not committed to getting Ina- she was never easy to find- and has only become more challenging to track down...

Sniffing out the baddies and foiling their evil plots.aww, this sounds totally awesome! :3 I also wish they'd have been a little more than another line of girls who like fashion, and I'm also sure they could have sold better that way (especially with accompanying/themed fashion). yes, they were dogs which is unusual, but in a world where anthro pony and monster dolls are available on the shelves dogs might not stand out that much just because they are dogs. I wish they stuck around more, I have always admired Pinkie Cooper but only realised I'd actually want to own them after their discontinuation (also, they never reached my country).

Well it looks like the exchange is $1 to $1.50 thereabouts- so it is a little more expensive than I thought, but not much more. The exchange rates have been pretty good (for the US side) this year. At times the dollar to Euro has been nearly equal, which is amazing.

If you are NOT in the UK - you can still buy them, but their international cart has some kind of flaw so this is what you do:
1. stick the dolls you want in your cart

If you are NOT in the UK - you can still buy them, but their international cart has some kind of flaw so this is what you do:
1. stick the dolls you want in your cart
2. email customer service and ask them if they could kindly send you an invoice for the dolls in your cart

Carrehz, I'm actually opposite of you, and WANT Nita's playset! The fact that it moves the doll is epic! I also want Nita herself, but the playset more so. Your girls are lovely btw!
I really like Nita's playset- the dolls look pretty cool inside. The moving feature is so weird and random though!
It IS big however. I have mine in storage.

Thanks to you I am emailing customer support. Lol! I have all the missing dolls in my cart except the two Curl dolls. I think I can get them on ebay for about the same price shipped so I am going to wait. Then I think I will be missing the fire one and a couple of middle ones.
