I remember Picklepud saying he got rid of his (creases) with boiling water, but it also took his sideburns off :huh: My 1600 Clawd has a bad case of glue seepage so beware......Yeah, I want to see if I can heat these guys up without dipping them in water, just so a) I don't mess up their hairdos and b) I don't potentially provide a catalyst for the glue seepage thing.
blowdryer would be worth a shot at least -- its easier to control than hot water or even a heating padOK. I'll have a go. What setting should I put it on and for how long? I don't want to melt their hair or face paint.

Her hair looks much better after washing out that awful gel, I think. I like the idea of her showing off her (conveniently thematic and non-deforming) scar instead of hiding it all the time, 'cuz it's kewl-looking. :3

If you're trying to remove their heads or heat them up, keep the hairdryer (on medium or high) at least 2 inches from their heads but aimed towards the neck hole (or whatever you're trying to heat up). I usually leave it there for about 30 seconds to a minute. Never had any problems with it and their heads become very easy to remove.

1) There's bits of those little plasticy things that they use to attach the doll to the box on their heads, they're quite sharp, is there any way to remove them?You have two options. You can try to pull them out with pliers or something, or you can just push them all the way into the head so they don't stick out anymore. They would've been those T-pronged things, but it sounds like the seller cut off the T parts and just left you with the sticks.
2) Rochelle's bangs are ROCK HARD. Can I get rid of the hair gel stuff?Absolutely. Just brushing it might help loosen it up a little, or you can wash it.
3) Is it ok the wash their hair? It's not dirty or anything, I'd just like to tame Lagoona's hair a little, and perhaps get rid of the stuff in Rochelle's bangs.Yep! You can wash their hair with shampoo and conditioner if you want. Or you can dip it in boiled water, which works great for straightening the hair.

Gave my daughter Rochelle today and when I opened her, there was a grease spot on the cardboard that she was attached to.....thought, oh great.....her hair at the roots is very greasy-like.....the bummer thing was that, at TRU, I made sure I got the "best" one and she had no VISIBLE flaws.... :huh:

I emailed them first and then the woman who replied, apologized for the problem and asked me to call them.....I called and asked to speak to the person who replied but there was no way for her to transfer the call so she handled everything (looked up my case number)....everyone's experince is different from what I've read, but Mattel is more than often very good about their Customer service.

Personally, I'd go for the first. You can always remove the smudged paint if you're careful. Maybe it's just the angle, but the second one looks like it has a really bad case of wonk-eye. The left eye looks about two or three millimetres higher than the right. Please feel free to to correct me if I'm wrong, as I say it may just be the angle of the picture.

Hmm, yeah you're right I could remove it! However, I'm terribly clumsy so I'm scared I'd ruin her. I guess the angle does work creating that wonky-eye-effect, but the seller did state her eye was slightly higher. However, I already ordered her now. So let's hope for the best!
Her left eye seems to have been painted smaller than her right eye (seriously, how does this happen so consistently in this playline what with the paint machine screening the face-up?) and thus not properly filling out the bottom portion of her "eye socket." Hopefully it isn't that noticeable in person and a lot of Lagoonas do tend to suffer from this minor defect so...

I personally like the first Lagoona's face more. While she does have a smudge, I usually remove smudges like that with the edges of my Hello Kitty emery board. :ninja: Doesn't smudge like acetone and leaves a nice sharp line. c:

My Rochelle arrived today!!! Her hair is kind of funky though :( Looks like there are lumps in her hair, not sure if it's glue reside from her rock hard fringe or glue seepage :( Brushed as much out as I can, it doesn't look horribly noticeable but I'm scared to wash her hair out.
Do you think the new deluxe fashion Abbey and Frankie sets are a "now or never" thing, or do you think I'll still be able to get them at a reasonable price in a few months?

Ugh this. I just buy things the moment I see them now, and it's so expensive. Although I left the newest 4 fashions at TRU because they were $14.99 instead of $9.99 like at Walmart and now they're gone and I haven't seen them anywhere since. :cry:I know, right?! Honestly, what would that even accomplish? They held votes for who should be the next doll and Arachne did not win, so she did not get made. How is sending them an email(and I am sure plenty have done so) going to do anything other than get on their nerves.

Thanks to the awesome grzankitter I'm getting a Gargoyle boy. I'm deciding on flocking him or sculpting hair on him. P: I'm also piecing together his outfit from stuff online. So far I found a pair of barbie khakis. Haha, so he won't be going nude!French hipster! Haha, you should track down one of Clawd's scarves for him. NoDivision's gargoyle boy (garboyle?) has made me fall in love with the sculpted hair, but in this case I don't think you could go wrong with either :D
I'm trying to think of a personality for him. I can't get away from French hipster. (Look at me, I love the CAM sets so much that I can't help but give them personalities before I get them!)

@ pukunui Killer Style - She's my favorite version of Frankie, with Home Ick as a close second :3Killer Style Frankie is the same as Gloom Beach Frankie but with her hair in a ponytail, right? I got the Day at the Maul outfits, which are modified versions of the killer style outfits.
I definitely plan to get her eventually, but more for the doll with her unusual hair color arrangement (I think it's darling!) than any of her accessories. Not super keen on pants, and ALL of the plastic bits being recolors is a little off-putting. But she is beautiful. <3It's the opposite for me. I want her outfits, especially those stitched-together pants, but I don't particularly like the inverted skunk hairdo.
I cannot waaaait to get Powder Room Draculaura though! Seriously, her and her TINY BATHTUB are like, my most wanted monsters right now.Me too! I'm not much of a fan of Lala in general, but Powder Room Lala is awesome. I love that poofy hair.

SO EXCITE! Daughter of Arachne DID have a very strong cowboy theme, so Wydowna Spider definitely makes sense! Or at the very least it's better than the name I came up with for her. ^^;
I'd totally get the spider doll. Especially if she'll have multiple arms 8) The Daughter of Arachne reminds me alot of hindu goddeses and that's the reason I love her, I really hope she'll make it into production!

I was thinking about what Mattel could do with other Scary Tale dolls, and when Cleo came to mind, I instantly thought of "The Princess and the Pea." I'm not sure how the story goes, except the princess couldn't sleep with a pea under her mattress. Please correct me if I'm wrong:) I also wanted to think outside the Disney-box :lol: I like that Red Riding Hood was included in the line.

Ghoulia was the original for me. Now she's not that interesting to me anymore.I didn't like Ghoulia at first, but she's really grown on me. I think it's partly because I can identify with her personality ~ I was the nerdy one in high school too.
And I agree, the Gargoyle boy is my favorite boy too. :D Though I'm partial to Clawd in the webisodes, I just don't like his dolls all that much (Okay, maybe I do like his original a bit). I'm just thinking of naming my gargoyle Goyle to be nice and uncreative. ROFLLOL.

I'm liking the GB version more and more, but the back of her head is sparsely rooted. Do you do partial reroots? All she really needs is a few more plugs here and there. She totally has a bald spot in the back of her head, and it's kinda sad.

I went into the Warehouse Downtown the other day, and they were having a huge Toy Sale.Anything good? I've been to several Warehouses around town recently and haven't seen anything super new, although more of them are starting to get things like Lala's roadster and powder room and Ghoulia's scooter and stuff like that. They're all starting to get Operetta and Nefera as well, plus both the Warehouse and Farmers appear to have gotten in cases of Sweet 1600 (with Clawd!) and Dawn of the Dance recently, as all of the stores I've been to in the last two weeks have had plenty of both those sets, whereas I hadn't seen them around much at all a few weeks before that.
Heaps of MH I have never seen!
But I'll tell you what else rocks. Bootsales. Bootsales rock, a lot, especially when you come out of one with this...That scooter looks awesome, Pinkamena! I like it a lot better than Ghoulia's scooter. Is it a Barbie one?

If anyone is interested in altering doll clothes to fit their monster high Guys and Ghouls here is one little trick i've developedgenius! thank you for posting!
Get some Fabri-Tac Glue (I got mine at a fabric store and its been my most favorite tool to use with my art since I do not have to sew any more or get my fingers all rough with crazy glue)
I put the garment of clothing i want to alter on my Monster High Doll and see where to take it in from the back by folding the velcro pieces while stuck together over. Then i figure how many folds are needed with the velcro strips to fit the doll the way i want. Before Gluing i reme the garment. I then fold the velcro strip on the back of the garment over and have the velcro piece on the top. I add the glue under the fold so that the garment has been taken in a little bit. I do this to both sides so that it is equal at the back. You fold the garment more times but in an accordion style so that the velcro is still usable so that it can fit your monster high doll. Yes I does get a little buckly back there but some garments you don't have to take in much as others. Barbie Jeans for MH guys only took one fold for me and Liv and Moxie Girls took too folds for me since i like my outfits a bit more snug. Hope this is understandable lol was hard to type and not be able to show you step by step what i do. If needed i can take some instructional pix if any one is interested.

I saw some photo's on Ebay from someone who's selling powder room Draculaura and I'm quite dissapointed in her hair. I was expecting those gorgeous curls from the photo we saw! On another note, I was at the attic yesterday and I have to say, I love my younger self. I stored (almost) all of my Bratz stuff in one box on top of all my old toys (which I couldn't reach easily). And everything was in quite nice condition, it did show some wear of playing so much with it, but it was mostly fraying on some clothes. I ended up playing with the clothes a bit and the result is this.. :lol:

I am having a lot of trouble getting into Draculaura, and the powder room doll is the first one I think I really like. I LOVE her. Her hair and face up is lovely<3I'm still debating whether or not I want to keep mine. I don't really like that plastered straight fringe. And I've found that I prefer the shorter-haired Frankies. My SS Frankie is my favorite (although I'd like her even more if she was in color) and I'm looking forward to getting my RM Frankie as well.

EDIT: Doesn't look like there's much in the way of "Golden Girl and the Guardians of the Gemstone" stuff on eBay at the moment. What I did find looks very Conan-esque, with lots of beautiful women scantily clad in furs and armor and wielding swords and stuff. They look like they came straight out of a Larry Elmore (http://larryelmore.com/) fantasy painting.

My GB Lala arrived the other day and I spent last night trying to do something with her hair, but I honestly can't do anything with it without leaving obvious bald patches on her head.
I think she's also got the beginnings of glue seepage ~ her hair was feeling a little waxy down by her scalp, but I washed and conditioned her hair last night and it seems OK now.
But I still am having trouble getting into her. I'm also disappointed because her Day at the Maul tights were badly stitched together so the row of bows want to be on the inside of her legs instead of at the front where they're supposed to be ... :huh:
I'm not sure I'm going to keep her. I really wanted to like her. I thought the GB version was the one I liked best, but now I'm not so sure. I even like my Home Ick Frankie better, and I was sure I was just going to strip her nude and sell her right away. Now I'm having second thoughts. I might keep Frankie and sell Lala instead.

Even if her hair's not in a curly fro, I still think I like this Lala better than any of the others. I like that she doesn't have so much eye makeup on, and I also like that her fringe isn't so severely straight or in the stereotypical vampirical 'v' shape.
I'm also jazzed that she comes with her pet, as I am still looking to get Count Fabulous, although I do wish s/he wasn't wearing a bathrobe. That'll limit her useability as a photography subject.
(Whereas Lala's bathrobe can double as a kimono. I have visions of doing a photoshoot of her in that kimono wielding a katana. If only I could find one that's the right scale ...)
I do wish the mirror was a real mirror and not just a picture but oh well ... we can't have everything we want, right? ;)

Yeah, I can understand! I never really liked gloom beach Draculaura. I'd rather have skull shores Draculaura but I guess that's mainly because of the clothing. I really like SS Lala's outfit, but her make-up is not my thing.

I don't know if any of them be suitable for your photos, but there's some nice looking katanas (intended for 12" action figures/dolls, so the scale may be slightly larger than MH) up on ebay at the moment. You can find them by typing in "katana 1/6." Some are on the pricey side (they're made of actual metal) but they look really nice.

golden girl stuff is relatively rare ... it only lasted a year ... and it predates she-ra ... the whole line flopped because it was REALLY ahead of it's time ... it was too conan-esque for girls and too girly for boys ... no cartoon to tie into it ... but the line was pretty amazing ... i would love to own more of them ... they usually get lumped into lots with shera ... but i haven't been so lucky to find any yet ... really want dragon queen and moth lady ... epic levels of want ... more at ghost fot he doll and they do have some info on wikipedia ...They are awesome...I so need both horses now though! YES. I found out about it almost 2 weeks ago, when I was ordering a game off ebay. It gives you 14 days before the money is taken out of your account, but it pays the seller upfront, so you're paying after it makes it's way safely to you. It's supposed to give you added peace of mind when ordering things, but it's really just made almost a line of credit for me, since I get paid every two weeks. :X

That's how I do it too. My DT Lala (1.0 with the sticking-up pigtails) can do awesome pigeon toes, heh. But some of mine have stiff knees that don't want to twist so I don't force them ^.^ Depends on the doll I guess!

For those of you who have re-haired your CAM dolls how do you do it? Mainly, how do you get around that big hole in their head where the wig is supposed to go? I would imagine that you just put a lot of hair in that particular part and poke holes for other plugs, but I am not sure exactly. Wow....that question sounds really dumb, forgive me.

I actually just revamped Bratz Boyz Black Pleaterish Jackets. I used some black ribbon to extend the sleves, altered the collars and then used GIMP or Plastic string for the pink and white. Not hard at all more time consuming cutting and cluing the stripes on in the right spots.Cool. Wish I knew how to do stuff like that.

Umm, I just got my third and fourth SS Lagoona today. Other of these ladies is a bait, so I will customize her. But the other was supposed to be for my daughter. She played with her for a minute or two, told me she was too floppy and said she didn't want her.You could dress her up in one of the Fashion Packs! :D

They finally delivered a package today, I got all excited when the deliveryman was at the door. Turns out it's for a neighbour living two doors away.. I did take it though! I hate when nobody is home and I to wait a few days more before the package gets back again. They have a note in their mailbox, so I wonder when they drop by! I also wonder when my package gets delivered, I want my wave 1 Lagoona!
I also hope my seller is doing okay, I haven't heard from her for four days. I would feel pretty bad if I got impatient and something happened to her.. Oh dear now I'm really starting to worry. :cry:

They had the cat/witch and as much I need that torso for my dragon girl.. I just couldn't warrant getting it when I know how badly I wanted the sea monster. I need to rig a Liv wig onto the sea monster... but here's Paige, my vampire~

She's $14.99 at my store. I call them Killer Style (but I do think they go by both names). For me the classroom dolls are Home Ick Frankie, Mad Science Lagoona, etc.

I stuck it on my Ghost girl head while washing it.. and the ghost girl head looked SO CUTE with the sea monster/vamp wig... because the bangs went over some of the 'raccoon' paint of her face and just ugh. It softened it up so much! I should take a picture of that later... hm.. maybe when I'm not spinning from the heat and my neck killing me...
I love that purple wig...wish Liv wigs were easier to find in the UK.

ok...so its not just me...the newest CAM wigs with the Seamonster/Vamp don't fit. Cause the wig cap on mine seems like its too small to fit on her head :/
Oh! I forgot to tell you guys (got all caught up in CAM stuff :lol:) I received a Clawdeen/Howleen set in the mail today:) Now you don't have to listen to me go on and on about how I can't find them. Someone here had a set up for sale near retail and I jumped on it. I was feeling mental pressure to cave and spend way too much on them. I think I might have to take a little break (yeah, right) on the MH spending, though. Everytime I ask my husband to pay for a new doll, I get a tired sigh, or roll of the eyes. I wish he was a tad more understanding.......... Although I am a completionist, and our living room IS starting to fill up dolls :P

I think I'm most in love with the CAM's of all the Monster High dolls I own. It was so much fun picking out clothes and accessories for each one... and coming up with my own names for them all too! Some of them I didn't like at all at first... but then as I developed their personalities they really grew on me. Draculiam, for instance (my CAM vampire boy) - at first I thought he was too feminine, but once I gave him the right accessories he started looking like quite the rebel bad boy! :)That's cool. I honestly don't know what to do with my vampire boy. The gargoyle boy has such a gentle face and I've already got lots of ideas for him. I've made him Scottish. But the vampire boy is a total blank slate. I have no ideas for him at all. I've been wondering if maybe I should just sell him.

Was up all night painting and what not. Just finished taking some pix, and the heat in my apartment didnt help the paint on them at all since I've noticed from posting I'll have to repaint some areas that melted and pealed ARG! Besides That they are looking pretty good minus the minor touch up and detail work. Still need an Idea for Bandanna's since my Ribbon Idea and Fleece Idea bit the dust and didn't work. So back to the drawing board on that one. I love how RM Frankie's Dress turned out after an alteration. My OC Sunnie Bunny Looks so Cute wearing it even with her tutu over top its so cute!

I have a question for all of you:) Have any of you seen the lifesize Gloom Beach sunglasses lately? I saw them once at Walmart, and kinda wish I had bought them. Haven't seen them since, plus I can't seem to find them online either:( They were hanging on a "clip strip" off an endcap, not in the regular MH section. I was just wondering how easy they would be to find, if I could afford, them later ;)

I have seen that playset at a TRU by me for two weeks now. I think the price is maybe making people lose their interest. I looked at the box real good and no offense to people who are interested in it, but I could never justify spending $90+ (with tax) on a playset. I haven't been watching this thread so I apologize if this has been stated before, but I suspect that Mattel is going to drop Cleo as one of the main six girls and replace her with someone else (or perhaps a couple other girls) like Rochelle and Abbey. Out of all the new lines of dolls, (Sweet 1600, Ghouls Rule, Skull Shores, Roller Maze, Dead Tired 2, Dot Dead Gorgeous, and Scaris/Travel) Cleo is only in two: Ghouls Rule and Skull Shores as an exclusive. They're really cutting down her releases lately. Also, the fact that Deuce Gorgon is in the Scaris line and Cleo isn't is highly suspect to me. I wonder if they'll make Cleo move away and pair Rochelle with Deuce.I can't remember where but they made some allusion to this. Saying Cleo was moving or "going on a trip". More like a trip to the reject pile XD She's not my favorite so I wouldn't miss her much.

That may have been my fault, Rhini. I posted a link to a "screencap" of what looked like something from the MH website. It said something like someone was leaving and making way for someone new. Some of the comments speculated that Cleo was leaving. People here on the arena said it was actually from a fanfic. Second, thanks for all the replys to my Gloom Beach sunglasses question. To answer someone else's question (sorry too many pages back to remember who :blush:) they are replicas of the Gloom Beach girls sunglasses. I think they are probably child size actually. Can I ask anyone who still has excess to them, to do a price check so I can see if I can afford all 5. Also if it's not too much trouble, to check and see if they have all 5? If I can't have all 5 then I'll pass. I'm an all or nothing kinda gal:) Not a good flaw to have when it comes to this line.

*shrug* The B&W was a promo item. We knew that from the start, she was always marked as such. So she's a novelty, and was sold at a cheap price (most places, TRU doesn't count.) She was never really sold or labeled the same as the other skull shores singles, so I never thought of her as a normal release. I always kind of assumed that another one would come along with another wave in some way.That wasn't clear to me. She was, along with Nefera, the first MH doll I ever bought, and I didn't know much about them at the time.
At least it's not like the color Frankie is the only exclusive with the Skull Shores Line. If you get the 5 pack, you get THREE new dolls, unlike most of the other multipacks where you'd get 2-4 re-releases and one new one. Much better deal this time around, at least.Perhaps. I actually understand everything about Pukini's frustratuon. For someone living outside the US, exclusives are the worst thing ever. Because there are a high risk that the exclusives aren't being released in your country, and if they do they will be overpriced to hell and back.Exactly! Thank you. I just did Moon (werewolf CaM) ears - marked up inbetween hairlines where I wanted the ear post to go, then made a hole with a corn-cob holder, snipped the 'clip' part of the ear off, pushed the peg through the hole then popped the clip on the underside of the wig. Looks sooooooooooooo much better now! Just be careful when you're making the hole not to split the plastic next to a hair hole.
I'm lucky in that I hadn't gotten around to getting any SS dolls when the 5-pack was announced. I want all 5 of them ^.^

Wow, Sweden have gotten some new dolls XD Saw Rochelle and Jackson today after looking in 4 different toy stores... Though I already have Rochelle, and I'm not really keen about Jackson.
All the MH dolls I saw today; 3 Operettas, 6 SS Ghoulia, 2 Rochelle and 1 jackson. And this is after checking 4 Toy Stores! (I can also say it was MORE than I usually see)

Tuney: The legs do not come off easily or cleanly:( The leg peg has barbs that keep it secure in the knee joint. No amount of pulling will get it out. You need to cut the rubber knee joint. I assume you are asking because you are thinking about modding a regular doll into a CAM? You'll need to drill out the rest of the joint inside the thigh, if that's the case. I've seen people cut open the legs......but I don't know anything about that.
The heads on CAM's and Regular dolls are all interchangable:)

A while ago I told a very wise friend of mine how afraid I was of ending up alone because, come on, what hot guy is going to be into another guy who collects ponies? She said, "You don't need to find someone who will love you IN SPITE of your collecting, but someone who will love you FOR IT!" And that is so, soooo true! Chin up!
KAM: I'm considering my other options. I may buy a custom blue torso. The main issue is the arms and legs. Since the puma boy has white on his face, white arms and thighs could work. So I *could* use the grey gargoyle's pieces. Does anyone know if the grainy stuff comes off with acetone? Or is it actually part of the plastic? I know that Abbey's sparkles come off; not sure about the gargoyles.

I just got my MIB Abbey and, well, her lipstick have smudged inside the package. So there is a blank spot on her lip and lipstick over the plastic ... I don't now if it was like this when the seller sold her to me , I should ask her about it.....that must be a thing with Abbey's... because my local Walmart had one (maybe two... I dunno if it was the same one) that looked almost exactly the same in package. If you think you can fix the paint I'd say do it?
