I've called the Hot Topic's around me (there are about 7) after new figures are released and I'll ask if they have any glitters in the store. If they do, sometimes they'll hold them for you for a set amount of time to pick them up. Not every Hot Topic does this though.

Cool! Something looks a little off about Celestia to me though, like her wings or legs aren't quite long enough. She still looks nice. I wonder if her glitter will be clear or milky like Rarity. One thing I don't understand, they made DJ Pon-3 with yellowish white, Rarity with grayish white, but Celestia isn't pinkish white like she should be.(thank goodness)

I just noticed that some people are already pre-selling them on ebay, and there are lots of bidders! Seriously people can be so stupid sometimes...I've honestly never understood that, especially when the pre-sale prices on eBay are more expensive than just ordering it from Hot Topic.

Wow!! These look really really nice. I imagine they might be harder to find than usual with the big Christmas shopping release. I don't have any money to order either one at the moment but I will be keeping an eye out! i feel the same way. It basically ruins it for others who do legit buy multiples to helps others (like international fans) get them, along with ones who just want a mini army of Funkos. Luna's street date bugs me. That's 5 days away. And considering Celestia and Blue Flu!Discord come out at the end of the month, it's making me think typo.
On the figures though. Celestia's proportions are a bit off, but eh. I can deal with it. Her eye bugs me though. Why couldn't she be looking forward like the rest of the figures.
Only complaint I have with Luna is her Twilicorn wings.
Hope both are at least on scale with Discord.
Will pre-order a couple Luna's with the hopes of getting a glitter. The last round of glitter hunting was hell. And with the Christmas season upon us it's going to be near impossible, plus inb4 she becomes the most expensive glitter on the aftermarket.
It is not a mistake I asked Hot Topic about it they replied that all the dates were correct.
If that is the case, then maybe I should order Luna and Celestia seperately. I'm a bit uneasy about my order- I ordered by telephone (because the site was crashed for so long due to traffic) and although I got a confirmation number, it doesn't show up on the site, and I never got an email. I called customer service to ask them whether I could get an email confirmation, and they told me that phone orders don't get an email sent out until the order ships.
So who knows whether it actually went through or not? Guess I'll find out.

I can vouch for this working at a TRU. Since Lyra and Pinkie Pie weren't selling, they where seperated to potentially be destroyed as their retail price was changed to .04 cents in the system. Anything that hits that price is to be taken to the back for potential destruction or re-sending to the distribution center. I blame TRU's lack of advertising them that they're shelfwarming.

You know, it didn't seem like TRU was treating the Funko figures well to begin with. There are two TRU's near me and, I swear, there are always three or four Funko boxes that look absolutely horrendous just sitting on the shelves. That coupled with the fact that the paint jobs on them are normally bad, I can see why people weren't buying them. I can only speak for my local TRU's, but still! I'm not surprised that they're going to stop carrying the Funko figures.
Destroyed? You would think that they would donate them to Toys for Tots or Goodwill like Target does.

Whether they changed their mind (due to a late shippment) or never had the correct date on the website to begin with (fairly likely)- I wouldn't expect to see these now until late November.

I know! Spitfire I ended up paying the most for than any of my other glitters but her and Sweetie were kinda a different case with their releases. I was lucky enough to find Daring in store this round but Rarity has been tough. I just haven't been able to bring myself to pay ebay prices for her yet. There are nearly a dozen of them on there all at $75+ that aren't selling. The last auction one I tracked went for $61 shipped. I really try to keep under $55. Hopefully the sellers will lower soon. I agree that hunting the princesses, esp. Luna, will probably be a nightmare (lolol :lol:). I found glitter Rarity and Big Mac in the store, and I had an extra glitter Big Mac from a friend that I traded for glitter Applejack. All the others were bought on eBay for less than $50. So I'd like to think that I have incredible luck with getting glitters at good prices. :lol: You better believe I'll be calling every Hot Topic around here (there are 6 locations near me... SIX!) when Luna and Celestia arrive.

This is weird. I saw that my Princess Luna got shipped since 2 days after I ordered (31st Oct)
and they've already provided me with a tracking code. When I emailed them to check cos I thought the release date was the 4th, they said it's already been shipped. I ordered a couple of other things - I hope they didnt miss her out because she's a pre-order :/
Plus shipping is all the way to Singapore (maybe that's why she shipped out early??)

They're going to take out the amount for good whenever Luna ships. They do this for security measures when you don't use Paypal.

So Celestia isn't very big at all... Just as I feared. :/ I would have gladly paid more to have one bigger than that. At least Luna is perfect!!
I'm having a hard time comparing their heights from the angle of the photo but it's cool to see proto's of the Princesses. As long as Luna is at least slightly taller than a regular pony (hopefully taller than Big Mac by a little) & Celestia is at least slightly taller than her I think I can deal. I'm so disappointed in both their wings though. Celestia's are too small & Luna's are too big :( What happened there, Funko? I hope that's either remedied in the production models (doubt it) or that it doesn't bother me as badly in person as it does in the photos. I'm still dying to see Celestia's glitter variant. I think it's going to be amazing. Luna's is going to be so awesome in person, too. I so hope I can find at least one of them.
I hate to disappoint you, but Luna is slightly shorter than Big Mac. I would post the photo here, but I don't want to do it without permission for the person who posted it on the Funko Funatic site. So Luna is taller than the other ponies, but not taller than Big Mac.Oh, I just went and looked. I see the pic of all of them on the shelf. The princesses look so tiny there being thinner but not much taller than the regular ponies.
I wonder who Funko goes to to get the designs approved for the ponies. I don't have any major complaints, but Luna and Celestia's wing sizes as well as their height bother me a little... those seem like details that should've stuck out.
Tuesday will be their release, hope they get here fast, hoping they are shipping them already :)

on the AJ and BM I ordered 25 of each , no glitters at all on that wave on my orders, so even ordering many, does not guarantee a glitter :)Tuesday will be their release, hope they get here fast, hoping they are shipping them already :)

Well - they probably ordered many Luna figures...and if that person gets none, they'll probably cancel the order/refund the buyer.
I think, at this point, Funko Pony collectors know how the system works. I think that person has a good idea. We don't know WHAT'S going to happen with the prices of the glitter princesses.
Maybe they work at Hot Topic??? So they know they will be able to snag one is the only thing I can think of. :huh:gonna go work for Hot Topic and then get fired for sure after I get my 2 glitters LOL

I didn't think Luna and Celestia glitters would be expensive. As long as they aren't a super limited, extremely hard to find release like Bon Bon and Spitfire, there's no doubt that their prices should be about the same as any other glitter (which is why I WISH people on eBay would lower their prices for glitter Rarity. There's no reason for her to $80).
I suspect that glitter Spitfire will be going down in price now that Hot Topic has her, too. :nod:

Okay, quick question for the both of you: Did you get your order shipped to the store, or to your house? I'm wondering if maybe the ship-to-store orders don't get shipping notifications.

Me as well. The only part that has me worried is that they didn't ship Discord, which is in stock. Usually they ship the items that are available. I'm probably just getting antsy because of the pre-order delays, for all I know Discord's on his way already ^.^

I'm going to assume yes. It seems like Spitfire just randomly started popping up in Hot Topic, so I expect that Sweetie Drops will follow.
I stopped in Hot Topic today just to see. They definitely got a Funko order in recently but no Luna/Celestia & no luck finding glitters. Of course the manager that refuses to actually get the ladder & look was there. It's always just "There aren't any up there.". I think she's also the "collector that works here" that another employee told me was the person who cut open all the blind bags and stapled them back together. (I definitely have some animosity towards her.)Basically this for the two closest to me. Huge funko orders but no princesses. I did get lucky and found the highly sought after Smaug and was called by the store later cause another rare figure popped up. I'll just keep popping by their stores everytime I get the chance :/
I've given up on glitters anyway. I'm actually selling all mine now. I love them but I tire of the chase and ebay stalking and my collection's getting to that point where I think it's too big again.

I swear if I see or hear of Luna being in stores, I'll be so thoroughly done with pre-orders. My order was placed over a month ago and they never changed the status of it from November 2nd. It still says “shipped" and I know it STILL hasn't. Any email I send or call I place is met with a garbage response that isn't very helpful.

So after much debate, I decided to call and cancel my order. I was going to place an order for Luna after and just wait for Celestia to hit stores. I was told that my order can't be canceled because it has already been shipped. Um...no, it hasn't! My card was never charged, even if that's true. It's HT's fault for never changing the status of my order on their site. You're telling me they can't check themselves to see that my order never shipped because it was impossible for it to have shipped on the 2nd of last month?! I was too angry to deal with it. So I said “Okay, whatever" and hung up. I know that was rude but...ugh. :stressed:

I've made plenty of orders before that were shipped to the store and only some of the items got there because the others weren't in stock. Once the rest of my order was in stock, they shipped it separately.

It can happen - I remember years ago there was a Monster High TRU exclusive doll two-pack that started showing up in stores at least a month before ANY of the pre-orders were shipped out.
Nowadays, unless it's for video games, pre-orders =\= get it first or right on release day. Pre-orders just guarantees that you get one. :(

There is NO reason that I can think of (from a customer standpoint) on why they haven't shipped Luna yet.
When they have an item in stock, they ship it out separately, right?
My theory: They don't have enough Lunas to go around, so they're using this Celestia situation & ordering more Lunas at the same time.
Everything else aside, preorders just take way too damn long. Call me impatient, but I'm not going to be paying in advance anymore for something when it'll be in stores only a few days after I receive mine. There isn't always a sale going on when they hit stores and I like to get them asap, but also prefer to get them on sale when possible.

Yeah, this whole roll out is a mess. I placed my order for one of each on the day they were up for pre-order. I am peeved that my Luna hasn't been shipped especially since it is ship to store. I ordered these for a birthday on the 17th, now I am going to be the jerk who shows up empty handed, a 5 year old is not going to care that its late, but they will remember that Aunt Kalma didn't give a present on her birthday. thanks Hot Topic!:( Maybe Luna will appear in the store before the 17th so you can get her for your niece. Even then, you shouldn't have to possibly resort to that if HT had just did right in the first place and ship out Luna to you.

Woo.I'm actually thinking of doing a huge bulk order of figures whenever the next wave comes out because I got ship-to-store this time around, and when I was talking to an HT representative on Facebook yesterday (before the email got sent out), they told me that I'll get free next-day shipping on the next order I place with them as an apology. Since I have so many friends who got the email about refunded shipping yesterday, but they either got 25 cent or free shipping, I was going to suggest going in on a huge order and taking advantage of my free shipping. I'd place the order, people would Paypal me the money, and I wouldn't charge shipping either. This would be extended to my pals here on the Arena, of course! :) I wouldn't want to make too big of an order, but a handful of people would be cool.

My neighbor is a manager at one of the Hot Topic's near me and he told me that they don't expect to have the figures any time soon, despite the fact that some places are getting Luna already.
I stopped by HT to check if they have glitters, they did not have a Glitter but they had regular Princess Lunas in their shelf already.Mine had Luna on the shelf about a week ago, so I was kinda ticked I just got my preorder today.

Hm, I'm actually not so taken aback by Celestia's glitter. (Good thing since I've stopped collecting glitters. I was afraid I might regret my choice after seeing Celestia.) Her hair looks really cool but, the body, I don't know. It's nice they are doing different things but it looks so opaque.
Is there a size comparison on the two? The packaging kind of make it look like Luna is taller.There were pictures of the prototypes posted a few weeks ago side by side. I believe Celestia is slightly taller, but I can't exactly remember.

As far as I know, the never give tracking for anyone who does ship-to-store, so I won't be notified until it actually reaches the store.
I'm really glad their Facebook reps are cool people because after the hell I went through talking with someone on the phone, I just want to be able to pick my order up sometime this week with no issues. I was almost afraid they'd come up with some BS since my order has said "shipped" for over a month now. Luckily they didn't.

There are probably a bunch of people who go in and buy up all of the exclusives (not just ponies) just to sell them at a higher price on eBay and Hot Topic has finally caught on. The Utah pony people who preordered are understandably frustrated, considering everyone who didn't preorder now has one and we still don't. I can't leave the house, so it doesn't make much of a difference to me, but it is kind of lame, lol XDNot just Utah pony people, trust me. I placed my order the day the listings were put up on Hot Topic's site and my order JUST shipped out on Friday. But, we've already gone through the whole reason that the orders were late... even if the reasoning didn't add up considering some people got their orders and had placed theirs later. "We have to wait until Celestia is available before we can ship your order" Okay, but I know other people who ordered Luna and Celestia and got their Luna already. :unsure:
I will be talking to the District Manager , this manager which is in the store closest to me, is making up new pollicies,I called the other stores and the only items with limits are the Comic Con Exclusives .
I went to the store and told her to her face that and she was like " the District Manager will be handling your case "
She was refusing still to sell me at least one ,I told her that she had said to me the limit was one, and I drove to the store as I had told her over the phone,she was all like "well since you have a case with the District Manager I won't sell any to you "
I told her " I did not drive all the way here for you to change your policy for the second time on me "
then she walked to the back and brought only one Celestia and allowed me to purchase it !

Yeesh. I suppose I can see why - with all that hair, them being solid would be extremely heavy and hard to connect to the bodies securely... How thick is the plastic? Is it thin and squidgy or at least rigid and kind of thick, like the heads of the Funko POPs?

I just called another store asking for Celestia and the glitters and the new limit policy ,looks like indeed there is one for the new items, 3 I was told at this last store , something about preventing people from selling them on ebay.
guess is a good deal ,but if I wanted more I just take my niece and nephew with me and we are up to 9 ponies LOL add my 4 sisters and Mom LOL we are up 24 ,and I got more nephews and nieces ,so .............you know what I mean .... is just a fail at the end.

What terrible customer service. I hope she gets reminded by management that customers end up paying her check and she should treat them better! I can understand if they are making new policies but to try and refuse to sell you even 1 is ridiculous and petty.
I just called another store asking for Celestia and the glitters and the new limit policy ,looks like indeed there is one for the new items, 3 I was told at this last store , something about preventing people from selling them on ebay.
guess is a good deal ,but if I wanted more I just take my niece and nephew with me and we are up to 9 ponies LOL add my 4 sisters and Mom LOL we are up 24 ,and I got more nephews and nieces ,so .............you know what I mean .... is just a fail at the end.
aaaaand how does that make sense? Sorry, but I sold pre-orders on eBay (like a few others are doing) so I could offset the cost of a bulk order.
So, they're limiting to 3 to prevent eBay sales...unless they had 3 glitters, that just doesn't make any sense to me.
I understand the company wants to make a profit (which they are doing) and the local stores are trying to maximize sales...while cutting down oninsane people*cough* pony collectors from calling in constantly...while trying to make their regular customers happy...and...and...gah, I don't see the logic in this for a "standard issue" pony.
I know DMs can make up any rules they want within reason (i.e. upholding HT's standards). They could always say to order online...

They didn't have one out so I decided to take one and get in line, then ask about the glitter again when it was my turn to pay (and ask about Luna, because seriously, I need a Luna), but 10 minutes later I hadn't moved an inch so I put Celestia back and left.I've had something similar happen while at Hot Topic before. I love the employees at my local one, I really do, but they only ever have one person at the register and that confuses me. Plus the store is so tiny that the line gets long pretty quick. :yikes:

I can't even get into the stores. I tend to shop in a wheelchair because my back can't stand the walking and standing. I've never met a hot topic where I could ever get around. I'm way more fond of Amazon for that reason.

My HT has both of them.... no glitter variants, but they are beautiful as they are! :D Seriously... ever since the AJ/BM wave ive had terrible glitter luck! :huh:I've had the opposite luck starting with that wave. A friend of mine got glitter Big Mac, so she traded me for a regular one since she didn't want any glitters. Then I found another glitter Big Mac in the store and traded that for glitter AJ. With the next wave, I got glitter Discord in my order, found glitter Rarity in the store, and my fiance surprised me with glitter Daring Do.

I had purchased one of the Eraseez packs and Luna, and the Eraseez shipped separately but it seemed like Luna was just sitting there with nothing happening. I called and they told me she had been shipped and that she should be here on Saturday! I still never received an e-mail or anything that she has shipped, so even though calling their support is a little annoying, it may help and offer more info!

No, my order only contains Luna and Celestia and I'm not going to make an international phone call to them, because it might end up costing me more than the figures. I did message them, but based on their track record, if I'm lucky, I might get some kind of answer just before Christmas.
Still no activity on my order or on my CC. I sent HT an email a couple weeks ago to make sure I was good to go but I got a pretty generic reply on Dec 4th about vendor delays and whatnot. I just messaged them via FB so hopefully they can reassure me that my figures will eventually arrive lol.They should give you a definite answer through Facebook, for sure. I messaged them soon after my CC was charged and they replied that my order would be in on the 20th. Well... I picked it up yesterday, but at least they gave me an answer! :lol:
First order arrived. Love them seriously they are amazing, all decent paint jobs from first glance, no broken tails or anything out of a ton of ponies, no glitter Lunaa, but three glitter Celestias?! Glad I got my Luna on ebay, but I needed an upgrade hopefully I can find one in store. thrilled to be complete just need a glitter Luna upgrade and I'm happy :)

Could someone do me the biggest favor and tell me what the dimensions of Celestia's box are? She is the bigger of the two, right? Just want to check on something...The box is 7 1/2 in. in height and a just slightly over 9 in. wide. Celestia and Luna's boxes are the same size, btw. ^.^

I called the store about my packages and there were there already ,it was kinda weird ,it only took a day to arrive ??wow that is horrible! :( it does sound like they tampered with your order! If they were going to go through it, they should have notified you about it beforehand.
the order was shipped on 12/16 and 12/17
there were no glitters but an order of 5 of each came in a big box and the tape had fallen off, a different manager this time came and told me the box arrived like that and that she had gone through it to make sure it was all there , it was weird because they are always are sealed, the other smaller order was incomplete, she said there was nothing she could do, I had to call the 1 800 number and get them re shipped or refunded,I called in and the rep said she did not show any stock in the system for them anymore to re ship them ,so she refunded 2 incomplete orders I received ,
the weird part is that the invoice did not show any back ordered items on the slip,it looked like the order was shipped complete and the store tampered with the big box and might have taken items from my box and they could have been glitters Is what I think or maybe just regulars, who knows what happened but next time around I will ship them to a different store ,I just had it with that one,Their Facebook page did get back to me and got my phone number for a DM to call me .
but at this point I'm just updated about their policies so there is not much I can say,but to ask that they check that store ,they are doing many things that stink.

To be fair, I think it's only right to assume that anyone who is buying more than one of each of a product is probably going to sell the extras at a higher price. I mean, eBay is all the proof you need of that what with people paying more than double the original price for a regular Funko figure that's up for “pre-sale".Yes, so next time I will not go over on any of my orders ,they will be 4 or less

This pal of mine on facebook ,ordered 2 ,1 of each, he received a glitter Celestia !!!!it's worth a shot: I only pre-ordered one Luna and got a glitter, and the only other time I preordered (two Fluttershys) i ended up with one regular and one glitter. :blink:

Yeah... seems unfair to taunt buyers with rare, random variants and then get huffy when people buy huge lots of them. 9_9exactly!! It's 1/24 when produced at Funko. Once at HT's distribution center they get scrambled and distributed randomly. It's not a 1/24 chance with HT.

If they put special listings for glitters, I'm sure that stock would sell out very fast (if not in minutes, then in hours).it could last longer if they put in a "only one per person/account/address" limit. But yeah, it certainly would only last a day, at the very most.
Don't worry, the glitters are always high at first and then go down to the $50 range, and then the $35/$40 range. I haven't seen too many cheaper than about $32- but they ALL drop in price eventually. Remember when Spitfire was $200? She is finally dropping to the $75 range now. I will finally get her when she does her next drop (probably once she becomes more common at Hot Topics)Oh trust me, I know how it works. I've posted about it before, but I've only paid over $50 for two glitters and the only reason I paid over $50 for Spitfire was due to shipping; she was still $50. Bon Bon I paid $90 for, but my fiance paid for half so it wasn't too bad. I don't regret that either seeing as she's still impossible to find.

I got an email that my order arrived yesterday. This morning, my mom gave me a ride to the store, which is an hour away from home. Why did I choose this particular store? We're out this way about once a month to shop at a specialty grocery store. Thought I cpuld combine my pickup w/ a grocery shopping trip. The delayed shipment threw me for a loop, so a special trip qas made today
One person was manning the store. She had a complicated service issue ahead of me. That took 15 mins. Told her what I needed. She took the customers behind me first, which was another 5 - 10 mins.
Not mad at this point. Normal course of business.
I ordered 7 of each pony. That's 14 funko ponies. She did the smart thing and opened the box before marking it rec'd. Only 2 (one or each). No "1 of..." marksd on the box. While on hold waiting for customer service, she marked the ponies as rec'd.
A second employee came to work (thank god). He manned the registers.
30 mins. Cust service picks up...and then disconnects. Close to 30 mins after this, she gets "Indiana" in customer service. Long story short, we both talked to Indiana who told me that a) 1's and 7's look similar b)my ponies were stolen by an employee & theycant correct the order because theyre sold out and c) stores close to me have them in stock. She gave me ten store numbers that the employee can look up & have them shipped in. d) she can't do a refund because she didn't have the capability, but put a request in for one...but no confirmation number e) all of the stores she gave me Re in California because C's and P's look similar (CA and PA).
After nearly TWO HOURS I have something in writing from the emploee of what I am owed, a promise of a potential refund (I can always take this up with Visa), the possibility that the DM can get the others in (I don't even know if it's worth it at this point) for me.
I'm furious, my mom who was waiting for me is furious at me, and the poor employee who helped me got a late lunch/missed her lunch plans/got a heckuva lot of stress added to her day.
I think I'm done with Funkos.
So True , I saw a glitter Big Mac on an auction that ended for 17.50To be fair, I think it's only right to assume that anyone who is buying more than one of each of a product is probably going to sell the extras at a higher price. I mean, eBay is all the proof you need of that what with people paying more than double the original price for a regular Funko figure that's up for “pre-sale".
Seriously, someone explain that to me. Is it because the figures are no longer in stock on HT's site? Is that why people are willing to pay nearly triple the retail price for figure that isn't even a variant? I remember when we first found out about these figures in October and people were buying them for pre-sale at crazy prices on eBay. That legit confuses me, but maybe I'm missing something.

Not that I think it's right to just go through an order without notifying the buyer, but I get why they're treating bulk orders the way they are.
Well I ordered 5 of each so that I could sell them AT COST and at my inconvenience, for the increased chance of getting a glitter. I think lots of people do that. It works out for everyone, I help out a few international friends who don't want to wait, and there is at least a chance (not a great one but one exists) of getting a glitter.
In fact, I still have 1 of each up for grabs if someone is interested. At cost, actual shipping only. :D

Don't worry, the glitters are always high at first and then go down to the $50 range, and then the $35/$40 range. I haven't seen too many cheaper than about $32- but they ALL drop in price eventually. Remember when Spitfire was $200? She is finally dropping to the $75 range now. I will finally get her when she does her next drop (probably once she becomes more common at Hot Topics)

I think the main reason I put up with this is because I sold 5 people pre-orders on eBay.
I just gave this a lot of thought and have come to terms with the situation. It's okay if I get negative feedback. This situation is completely out of my hands.
1) the very first person who ordered gets a set. He already left me positive feedback a month ago, so it must have been in the stars they these ponies were meant for him.
2) I can give the option of immediate refunds
3) I can give the second option of working with my local HT to get the ponies. It would be at least 2 weels, if not longer to get them on my end. It may be faster than waiting for HT to add them to their site again. It's another gamble.
If people choose refunds, I can tell the local DM not to worry about tracking ponies down fr me...which would get rid of some of the stress on his end.
Yeah, I don't fully understand why HT gets exclusivity on the figures for so long before they pop up elsewhere. Surely Funko realizes that they would still make a lot of money by having other stores sell them alongside HT...

Honestly, maybe we all should write letters about the orders this time around. While not all of us had extreme cases like you, it seems like we've all dealt with something unacceptable with the pre-orders. I had a handful of people from customer service lie to me about me order before I even got it, not to mention the whole "we can't send your order out because you also ordered Celestia and we don't have her yet" BS that they pulled, knowing very well that other people who placed an order for Celestia and Luna had received Luna already (I had numerous friends who had placed an order for them both in one order and were able to get Luna, even though I placed my order before them and didn't get my order until this week).
We can complain here all we want, but when it comes down to it, we need to let them know that we're completely unhappy with how things were handled this time around to, hopefully, avoid crap like this from happening in the future.

The black Rainbow Dash Target exclusive at least means Target might start carrying more figures.

Well the best way of getting that to occur, is to call Walmart and Target and email their merchandise people, and ask them to stock Funko. I'm sure Funko would LOVE to have their products sold at the Marts. It is not really their decision who sells their products, its the stores.
They're starting to ship out this week. We show that your order is still processing. I'll send an email to our warehouse so that they can expedite the processing.

Well, I'm another one whose order was incorrect.
In early November, I ordered 2 each of Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and Blue Discord. Was I happy with the long wait, no, but at least I was getting them, right? Right??? Wrong!
My box arrived Friday, and I happily anticipated picking the best one of each for myself, then wrapping the other ones for my daughter. Alas, there was only 1 of each in the box. After calling Hot Topic, and being on hold for more than 30 minutes, I finally talk to someone.
"Oops, someone in the warehouse made a mistake."
"Sorry, they are out-of-stock."
After being placed on hold several times, I'm finally told that my nearest Hot Topic "might" honor the sales price I paid, but they only had Blue Discord and Princess Celestia. I only need to go to the store, have the store call them, so that they can authorize the price adjustment.
During the phone call, both my children came home from school. (At this point, I should mentioned they get home 45 minutes apart!) We go to the store, and after explaining the situation and another phone call, the store honors the price I paid.
Believe it or not, there is a silver lining. Although I only received 1 Princess Celestia and 1 Princess Luna, both were glitters!!!
Of course, now I'm on the hunt for 2 regular Princess Luna's, but things could have been worse.

Both of the Celestias we received have the bottom of her mane and tail that actually fall slightly lower than her hooves, so her feet are slightly "elevated" off the surface they are placed on. Not sure if this is across the board with all of them, or just some of them. Doesn't really matter to me because I keep all mine in their boxes after initial inspection :)
Yeah, i saw the review on EQD and wondered if they were all like that. The pictures made her front view look pretty akward and according to the reviewer she tips over fairly easily.

HT corporate sucks. At this point, I'm only willing to buy directly from the store because I love the employees and they always try to be as helpful as possible. Trying to deal with customer service on the phone, or through email is the worst, and they're usually good with responding on Facebook but it (understandably) takes a little while.
Were you already charged for your order? Is it possible to just cancel your order at this point?
I DID however see a metallic rainbow dash at HT with a 20th Ann. black box, i have no idea if its the same RD from Target. I think Target metallic RD is black and the HT metallic RD is blue.

I doubt local a store has five Celestias (most I am seeing is 4 each). I don't know if doing an in-person exchange is a possibility for you...
Thank you guys for letting me know the Target RD has glitter and isnt metallic! Ive never seen one in person, so it was hard for me to remember. We went to 3 different Targets and the MLP section was cleared out of ponies!!! I saw some princesses on clearance, but I want the RD. Looks like i will have to order her online or wait.

I actually saw Twilight as well as Big Mac pop up in my local Barnes and Nobles the other day. I'm still waiting to find Trixie. I already had her from Hot Topic, but I'd love to get an extra one for my work. TheGreatLate and Powerful Trixie.

I read somewhere that Luna possibly won't be available to buy in store if you haven't seen her yet (talking mostly to my fellow east coasters here) so yeah...that's a dumb load of bull crap that may or may not be happening. It sounds strange, but with how things have been going, it wouldn't surprise me. I'm still sorta hoping she'll pop up sometime next month, but I'm starting to doubt it. How are you searching? When I search for "Luna" or "Princess Luna" or even "Funko Pony" she doesn't come up.
I have 8 hot topics in my area. One of them got Luna's last week. So yes I think stores will eventually get them :) I hope, I still need a glitter!

Happy to report I FINALLY got my Luna and Celestia figures. I asked the manager how many figures they got in- she told me very few Lunas (gone almost immediately) and no Celestias. I was hoping to check for glitters but that's kinda impossible when they don't have either in stock. Their Funko selection was pretty bad too but I'm assuming they're cleaned out from the holidays, so I'll just check back from time to time.
I did have one disappointment though- my Luna's horn was bent. :\ At this point I'm too frustrated by this whole thing to argue with them about it and there seems to be a shortage of the figures as it is so I'll leave it be. Just a word to those still looking for Luna, she can have a bent horn and it's near impossible to tell while she's still in the package.
I know I'm really really wary of ordering anything from HT at this point. I know the strike wasn't their fault, but the terrible customer service was. Good luck to those still searching!
I had a nightmare that Funko started making crazy Limited Editon/OC ponies (both regular & glitter chase!)...and they were all exclusive to McDonald's, because they thought selling at McD's would be better than HT...and, while ordering food, I saw they had Sailor Moon-themed ponies...and 10 different Wonderbolts in various poses...but the customer service was awful & none of the employees knew how to answer questions...and when I said I wanted the Glitter Queen Metalia Sailor Moon pony, the McD's worker just stared at me...and it was *right there*, but she just didn't understand and started taking drive-thru orders.SAILOR MOON PONIES?! I NEED THIS TO HAPPEN even though I have two custom Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter ponies using Rainbow Dash and Applejack as bases.

I'm sorry about your Luna's horn. My celestia had a badly bent horn as well. I was able to fix it.
Boil some water and then have a bowl filled with ice and some water handy. Place the horn in the boiling water for about 45-60 seconds. This will soften the plastic. Then immediately place her into the ice water. The horn should straighten right up.

I got a glitter luna today! She is really pretty in person. I had to drive really far to pick her up but it was worth with it.
I have now ended up with an extra glitter celestia. I would love to trade her for a glitter rarity. How does everyone go about trading glitters? I always post in the trades forum but no one ever responds. I wish we had a glitter trade group or something :) when I come across extras I don't want to sell them for money, I just want to trade for a glitter i need!

Now, supposedly, finally, well over 70 days later, my Celestias should be on the way...

The thing is though, retailers never/hardly do pick up the ponies and if they do its very sparse and they don't have a clue about them.
Walmart never restocks them and 75% of Walmarts don't even carry them. My closest store has had 4 Rainbow Dashs for about 8 months. (The Pinkies sold right away, and the :muffin: Ponies... its like really Walmart... thy probably won't carry them anymore because they think they aren't selling well, its like look those have been sitting for so long, but they are all the same!
Target Never got any of the ponies, they only got their own exclusive a black Rainbow Dash.
Toysrus They actually had their own exclusives, but only back in 2013 and due to no glitters and bad quality control, they didn't do well. They also picked up an assortment of Dr, Fluttershy, Rainbow, and :muffin: Pony, but they never restocked them, once they sold out that was it and no glitters in that bunch. Then they picked up Lyra, Pinkie, Octavia, and DJ. Although they don't restock these once they were gone they are gone, seems like they aren't interested in carrying them anymore. If only they knew if they did more exclusives characters with variants and better QC they would be making TONS like HT.
Barnes They have Dr, Fluttershy, Rainbow, and :muffin: Pony and continue restocking them. Finally just during the holiday they picked up Big Mac and Twilight. They have never had their own exclusives (another huge mistake) we need to ask these stores to carry them!
Random comic book stores Some carry them some don't very random.
Hot Topic Has gotten every pony released first besides Spitfire and Bon Bon, multiple waves per year, their own exclusive variants, and mystery minis. If HT didn't carry them Funko collectors like me would be screwed.
Hot topic does not have the exclusive rights to these ponies, they are the only ones that can buy them for a period of time, I think it is 90 days. After that any retailer can purchase them to sell.
The thing is though, retailers never/hardly do pick up the ponies and if they do its very sparse and they don't have a clue about them.
Walmart never restocks them and 75% of Walmarts don't even carry them. My closest store has had 4 Rainbow Dashs for about 8 months. (The Pinkies sold right away, and the :muffin: Ponies... its like really Walmart... thy probably won't carry them anymore because they think they aren't selling well, its like look those have been sitting for so long, but they are all the same!
Target Never got any of the ponies, they only got their own exclusive a black Rainbow Dash.
Toysrus They actually had their own exclusives, but only back in 2013 and due to no glitters and bad quality control, they didn't do well. They also picked up an assortment of Dr, Fluttershy, Rainbow, and :muffin: Pony, but they never restocked them, once they sold out that was it and no glitters in that bunch. Then they picked up Lyra, Pinkie, Octavia, and DJ. Although they don't restock these once they were gone they are gone, seems like they aren't interested in carrying them anymore. If only they knew if they did more exclusives characters with variants and better QC they would be making TONS like HT.
Barnes They have Dr, Fluttershy, Rainbow, and :muffin: Pony and continue restocking them. Finally just during the holiday they picked up Big Mac and Twilight. They have never had their own exclusives (another huge mistake) we need to ask these stores to carry them!
Random comic book stores Some carry them some don't very random.
Hot Topic Has gotten every pony released first besides Spitfire and Bon Bon, multiple waves per year, their own exclusive variants, and mystery minis. If HT didn't carry them Funko collectors like me would be screwed.
TRU had that ERROR on their first listing on their web, selling the assortment for the price of 1 pony, they did honor many or just turned around and gave you the ponies free.
Their QC was a big deal on their exclusives though, Right now mine has Octavia and DJPon3 .
on their Site ,Bon Bon has been heavily reduced, I ordered one last week, it was 3.79 for it,now is 7.98 on their site.
Target has already put on clearance their black RD.
I had actually received 10 Luna instead of the 5 Luna 5 Celestia I had ordered- emailing HOt Topic customer service resulted in absolutely no answer- so per suggestion from this thread, I tried facebook. They eventually sent me a label to return 5 of the Lunas, but wouldn't actually send my Celestias until they saw "movement" on the return.
Now, supposedly, finally, well over 70 days later, my Celestias should be on the way...

To be fair, Rainbow Dash has as many Funko vinyl figures as Doctor Whooves does and at least hers look different from one another. You have metallic, black, glitter, and regular for RD versus red tie, green tie, glow-in-the-dark (which doesn't look any different from regular), and glitter for Doctor Whooves.yeah, that is true. I forgot Dr Whooves has had the same amount of variants. I can understand them using RD as a test pony for the store exclusives - i wonder if they really sold well. My HT still has a lot of their RD (and Discord) exclusive, and I think my Target only ever had six of theirs.
I think RD being used as the exclusive pony for Target and Hot Topic is just a test before giving us different exclusives.
I agree that the 6 month exclusivity for Hot Topic hurts the sales for other stores. Walmart always has RD and :muffin: and my local Barnes & Noble doesn't even carry the Funko vinyls.
I feel that the six-month exclusive deal that HT has on the Funkos hurts the other major retailers that sell them. By the time stores like Walmart or Barnes and Noble get a certain character, a great amount of people would have already bought them from HT, unless they dont live near one. Why wait six months to buy ______ from [insert store here] when you can go to HT or their website, and buy/order it from there?

I ordered a Luna and had it shipped site-to-store. When I went to pick it up today, I learned a couple of interesting things!
1) Funko's Quality Control. Whyyy. The Luna I got has a really craggy-looking face.
2) Glitter Celestia is awesome in person! (I got to buy one! Woohoo!)
3) My Hot Topic got a bunch of Lunas in with tails that are broken right at the butt. They didn't appear to be snapped off. From what I can see, they've just come loose somehow. They're being sold for about $4 a piece. If I hadn't already ordered mine online, I would have bought one of those for sure, because I figure it would be an easy fix.

I bought one of the broken Lunas at Hot Topic today, and in putting her together, I think I figured out why the tails like to break so much on these.I had posted back in November about the broken tail on one of the Lunas that I first received ,luckily I was checking them at the store and returned it right away .
When I put mine back together, her tail had apparently been installed in a slightly crooked fashion. Since the packaging is so specific to the product, the tail ended up resting up against the packaging in a way it wasn't supposed to, causing it to break at its weakest point

totally thought my story was over. Guess not XD the gift cards they sent me in lieu of a refund don't "actually exist." They exist in the physical sense, in that they are little bits of plastic with numbers on them, but if you try to use them, Hot Topics computer system says informs them there is no gift card with that sequence of numbers.Wow...just...wow. :shocked: HT just cant seem to do anything right. Sorry that you have to go through all of this in the first place.

I really hope Luna will go down, it's crazy how high is it, and with shipping to Europe it's really a "nope" for me.
And I don't understand why Funko don't release more of her ? I mean they would sale ! so they will not loose money !

Hot Topic has done an AMAZINGLY TERRIBLE JOB
* About 50% of the orders they packed up had the WRONG ponies in them or the WRONG numbers of ponies - so there were people who ordered 10 who got 1... I ordered 5 of each and got 10 of one of them...
* They are absolutely terrible about returns- they will put you on hold if you call for 20-40 minutes, they respond to email customer service inquiries with completely useless answers after about 3- 7 days, the only fairly prompt customer service is provided by messenging them on Facebook?!
* Even if they messed up and sent you the wrong ponies- they won't send you the correct ones until you send the wrong ones back- they don't give you anything at all for your trouble, not even an apology
* They ship out new orders of ponies before filling the PRE-ORDERS- every, single time.
I didn't actually run into the problem with the tails falling out for these ones, but I didn't check too hard either- and actually I am not very intimidated by that issue since it is so easy to fix with glue (actually I wish I could do all the gluing with these ponies since the factory gluing is SO sloppy)
I am still waiting for my Celestia ponies. These were ponies I ordered in OCTOBER.

It's weird but Glitter Celestia seems to be the least popular glitter yet- the surprise to me is Rarity, who still seems to be generally high, even though she has never been in short supply and has been out for a while now.

I wouldn't say least popular, just extremely easy to find in relation to the other glitter ponies. I've never seen so many people with an extra of a particular glitter variant until Celestia.
Personally, Rarity was very hard for me to find. I haven't even seen her regular Funko around in months. When she was released with Daring Do and Discord, Discord was EVERYWHERE but Daring Do and Rarity weren't as easy to track down and I had 7 different Hot Topic's in the area to choose from. Not one of them had all 3 at the same time.
Luna came back online at HT, I was missing 2 from one of my December orders, they told they were going to refund me and never did I call them yesterday and ask them to send them to me,since the refund never came and since Luna was in stock ,so they will be shipping them to me, I still hope to get a Glitter from my orders :) crossing fingers :).
She is gone again !
