Funko Princess Luna & Celestia pre-order @ Hot Topic! Arriving November

I called the store about my packages and there were there already ,it was kinda weird ,it only took a day to arrive ??
the order was shipped on 12/16 and 12/17
there were no glitters  but an order of 5 of each came in a big box and the tape had fallen off, a different manager this time came and told me the box arrived like that and that she had gone through it to make sure it was all there , it was weird because they are always are sealed, the other smaller order was incomplete, she said there was nothing she could do, I had to call the 1 800 number and get them re shipped or refunded,I called in and the rep said she did not show any stock in the system for them anymore  to re ship them ,so she refunded  2 incomplete orders I received ,
the weird part is that the invoice did not show any back ordered items on the slip,it looked  like the order was shipped complete and the store tampered with the big box and might have taken items from  my box and they could have been glitters Is what I think or maybe just regulars, who knows what happened but next time around I will ship them to a different store ,I just had it with that one,Their Facebook page did get back to me and got my phone number for a DM to call me .
but at this point I'm just updated about their policies so there is not much I can say,but to ask that they check that store ,they are doing many things that stink.

wow that is horrible! it does sound like they tampered with your order! If they were going to go through it, they should have notified you about it beforehand.

Maybe they were confused and opened it thinking it was for the store instead ,so they might have sold a couple , and they were out of the new ponies, their shelves were empty.
So anything could have happened there, but they are out of stock ,the site is not even showing Luna or Celestia anymore

Luna and Celestia are out of stock on their site?  Ugh, I really hope this doesn't mean that I won't be seeing those two in stores any time soon.  It's bad enough that Spitfire never showed up here, which didn't give me the chance to try and find her glitter at retail value.

I asked the Manager about glitters of the Princesses and she said she had not seen one yet of neither one and then she went on to mention that Spitfire was arriving tomorrow .

I talked to a worker today whenever I called and he said he doesn't know anything about any new figures coming in.  I know with the other waves, the workers seemed to at least know that something was coming.  My neighbor is a manager at Hot Topic so maybe I'll ask him about them next time I see him.

I can understand them opening the box, thinking it was for a store, but wouldn't they have noticed the little order paper inside and checked to read it to make sure it wasn't a customer order?

  Well since the feeling now towards people who order more than 5 is that you are a Bulk Purchaser and therefore an Ebay scalper and their policies pretty much say, they can cancel,refuse to sell and refuse returns to anyone who is a bulk purchaser and they can decide to charge you for shipping even if it was sent to the store, and at the stores 3 is the max to buy per  pony, but like I posted before ,it depends of the cashier and the manager of the store .

To be fair, I think it's only right to assume that anyone who is buying more than one of each of a product is probably going to sell the extras at a higher price.  I mean, eBay is all the proof you need of that what with people paying more than double the original price for a regular Funko figure that's up for “pre-sale".

Seriously, someone explain that to me.  Is it because the figures are no longer in stock on HT's site?  Is that why people are willing to pay nearly triple the retail price for figure that isn't even a variant?  I remember when we first found out about these figures in October and people were buying them for pre-sale at crazy prices on eBay. That legit confuses me, but maybe I'm missing something.

Anyway...

Not that I think it's right to just go through an order without notifying the buyer, but I get why they're treating bulk orders the way they are.

I don't understand why/how there's a market for the pre-order HT figures.  I mean, I sold 5 sets this time around (I ordered 7).  When it comes down to it, though, I didn't actually make any money. 

Sounds weird, but it's true: I broke even for each set I sold.  Which is all I really want.  I'm trying to increase my chance of getting a glitter, not make money.

I thought, for a while, that it gave international buyers a better deal with shipping...but HT has promotions for that.

I get that they're out of stock (for now at least), so that creates a market.  But when they were both up for pre-order?  Nope.  Don't get it.

edit: Unless they've had awful experiences in the past with HT and feel better with the eBay/PayPal policies that are in place...but...it's been over 30 days for my orders (thank goodness I'm an honest seller!)

Yes, so next time I will not go over on any of my orders ,they will be 4 or less
but all this selling on ebay of the extra ones is just a side effect of the chase/glitter figures
so it is their fault, just make the glitter available and be done with it ,no one is going to be making crazy orders and reselling these if chasing the glitters is taken out of the game .

But...they ARE getting more sales with the 1 in 24 as long as they refuse returns.  Or at least equal sales....or something...lol

LOL  here I'm with 6 of each  today and no glitters, I will have to remind myself of making just at least a couple of orders of just 1 and try that LOL

Yeah... seems unfair to taunt buyers with rare, random variants and then get huffy when people buy huge lots of them. 9_9

 yes they will never end it, they created all this resale mess, if they are serious they could end it easily with that move, make the glitter regular price and make tons of them and it will be then no resale going on,because they also want the international buyers now to get them directly ,so it could all work very nice, but I doubt they go that way  for obvious reasons

How long has this been going on?  Almost 2 years?  The re-sale-pre-sale thing didn't really take off until after Fluttershy/Whooves.  I mean, that's when I first saw it on someone's blog (they ordered exactly 24 Fluttershy's and got 1 glitter).

So, yeah, they needed this policy in place ages ago.  I also think the older release ponies that are listed (Lyra, Twilight, Pinkie) are from all the returns.  I mean, yeah, they could have ordered more from Funko, but that hasn't been their "thing" in the past.

It would make sense, too, if they realized their warehouse had tons of returned ponies...plus this strike fiasco & trying to fill orders...that they needed to put new rules in place so they're not losing money.

Of course, we all know a way around this: order no more than 4/5 per order

I've never done bulk orders.  I've always ordered one of each figure each wave and I've so far received more glitters in my orders than people I know who've done bulk orders.  Not rubbing it in anyone's face, just saying that ordering a ton doesn't up the chances. Personally, I didn't understand the point in ordering multiples, but that's just me (thank you for explaining, Spiffy).
