Is anyone else disappointed that in New Leaf, you can no longer send mail to players in different towns? I was kind of bummed when I discovered that. I loved sending people gifts in AC:CF.Really? That sucks they took it out. :( i love sending gifts to friends as well.

I have never heard of this.It's a Nintendo game series that's been around since the GameCube game. New Leaf is for the 3DS. It's seriously one of the most addicting games ever! And it's super cute.
I don't think it would really be cheating if you changed the clock time to better match your work schedule. I know that when it comes to Holiday events, some people would change the time so that they could participate if they would be busy IRL during that time. Like if it was Halloween, but the player had to go to work IRL during that event time. So they'd change the clock later (or before they go to work) and do the event.

The one thing that's a shame about me playing the game though is my hours do not go well with it. I work nights so when I play at night all the stores are closed. Lots of the stores don't open until 9am or 10am, and I am in bed by then. :P I could change the time but that feels like cheating!
I guess I will get the most enjoyment out of this game on my days off.
I will definitely be using that night owl ordinance for a while when I reach that point. I was able to get a shovel and net today so I could catch some bugs, but I sure wish I could have gotten a fishing rod! I wanted to fish all night at work. XD XD Wow, the things I get paid for.Have you done the "chores" asked by Isabelle yet at Town Hall (get her a seashell, plant a tree, ect.)? After a bit, she'll ask if you want to know about Fish or Bugs. If you choose "Fish", she'll ask you to go catch some fish, and a response when you talk to her again will be something like " I don't have a fishing rod!", which she will sell you one for 500 Bells. :D
But I'm hoping I don't have to use the night owl thing for long. Got an interview on Friday for a first shift job and I seriously hope I get it. The third shift thing has gotten old!

Actually I haven't. I heard she asks you to do that. I just got my first house loan paid off. Everytime I go talk to her, she asks me if I need any advice. If I can get the chores done tonight, it would certainly pass some time at work! How do you prompt her to do so?When you go ask her for advice, did she mention something like how you should go to the beach and pick seashells, then talking/hinting that she wants one? If so, go to the beach, get a seashell of any kind, and give it to her. :) Pretty much, that starts the "chores" stuff . :)

My friend had a hard time, it turned out it was the previous owner's ID card and she thought it was a previous owner's friend....
At the home screen, there should be a little orange square with a face and you should be able to find your ID in there with your codey! Hopefully?

If I had oranges on me I would have went into your town when your gates were open. It would been kind of funny since you probably wouldn't remember who I was on the Arena. I would have made you play the guessing game! :D
I am officially addicted to this game. It is seriously keeping me busy at work. Glad I have the next four days off so I can play during the day, though. Wanna catch some different bugs and fishies.
Since I have not played since I was little... Each town is randomly generated? So you get different people? Fruits? Layouts? Also I seen someone else play and when Roger I think the guy's name was asked the player if this is the town he was going too and showed a map, it showed you could say yes, or no. If you say no does he just give you a different layout?

Each town is randomly generated but at the beginning of the game I think you get four maps to choose from. I wasn't picky and just picked the second option.
The fruit and villagers you get are also randomized. :)

ok i tried to add everyone xD iv got trixie, tammy, jen, bandit, mar, and ancnothing is wrong - when you add someone but they havent added you yet, they will show up as grey. But when they add your code to their list, you'll get notified of them and you'll see their Mii. :)
for some reason when i put in everyone elses code it tells me to give them a name and then they show up as gray empty picture on my list, even when iv carefully re entered their codes lol, i dunno whats wrong.

Been training my vacation-replacement at work (so tiring), so I haven't had much time to play - my town is still piddling little, and I only have apples. -_- But you're all welcome to visit when I figure out how to open my gates. I downloaded my game, and I'm too flighty to read my manual in-depth. :PTo open your town gates, go to the train station and talk to the monkey inside. There, you can open your gate (select "a faraway town" of something like that after choosing that you want to open your gates). :)

Man, the island is GREAT. I've made a ton of bells in just a few hours. I already will have a second floor on my house tomorrow! Now I should start furnishing it too...hahaha. Also, I believe the watering can and axe are sold at the gardening supply store, not Nooklings....though I may be wrong?Nah, you're right about the axe and watering can. And from what I read, the gardening store gets unlocked after you do 30 plant-related stuff ( watering flowers, planting trees, ect.) and after five in-game days from the time you started the game. If that made sense.

I missed the bug off, I was working....and I didn't want to time travel backwards to participate because I don't know what happens? I hadn't done anything that day so I guess it wouldn't have been bad....If you hadn't played the game at all on Saturday (or at least up to a certain time/point), and you haven't started the game up today yet, you could Time Travel back to Saturday to do the Bug-Off and still be alright.

If you got it in, Pelly will give you the clock.

The Tarantulas attack you? Lol that's scary. DXVery scary! I've seen a video of someone trying to catch it, and it can move fast. If it "wins", it bites you and your player faints, the screen goes black, and you appear outside your house. xD:

Everytime I try to visit someone else's town not one has their gates open these days. XDYou get the slingshot when Nookling upgrades (at least 10 days since starting the game, plus either spend 12k bells or buy 15 items at the store), and the store should be selling it. That is also when you get access to the catalog.
If you see me online playing the game, come stop by and say hi. Chances are I'll have my gates open. I want visitors!!! LOL
BTW, when can you get the sling shot in the game? I am trying to collect all the balloon furniture. I know the trick where if one blows by the edge of the cliff by the ocean you can use your net to pop it.

The one issue about the current filter is that you can't use certain regular/normal names in the game because of the word (or part of it) being a curse/insult word in other languages, such as "Criss", "Violet" ect.

Kicks will not be built until you have T&T's built. I know because my boyfriend has had Kicks being built for 3 days, and once T&T was built, he got Kicks.
It says on various guides that you can't get Kicks until you have the convenience store. So I suppose that until that's done, Kicks won't be.

I looked it up and it says something about having 100 furniture and 50 clothes in your catelog too?i dont think the clothes/furniture requirement is right, because I know I hadnt touched that many of both when Cyrus woke up.

I can't keep up with it, LOL.I have TT'd in past games, but didnt do it for City Folk or this one (yet, at least - I dont plan on time traveling, but I dont like saying I 100% won't do it). Time traveling never killed my fun for the games, and I'd still be playing them a year (IRL) afterwards. xD And considering how slow the game starts up (compared to previous AC games), and how the game's favorite word is "Tomorrow", I don't blame people for time traveling because of it.

My favorite villager is a dog named Cherry. She's a pink goth dog, and I didn't care for her much at first, but when I got stung by bees, she gave me medicine.

Quite honestly, it's weird despite that this is a game it just plays true to life to me. I get uber paranoid about debt I "owe". I try to pay it off immediately.
Or better yet, that when people visit, I go in mini states of panic attack (Although that's getting better). Although certain people I'm comfortable with like Milky or Yuitsu (and a few others). ^^ It's just I don't wanna do something bad or say something bad... or I dunno what's wrong with me. Regardless, it's always fun. :)
I hope today I'll get enough courage to go to the cafeteria at my work place. I passed two AC players walking out the other day, so I think if I go to the lunch room I should hit more. (I work at a big "creative" corporation... so.... maybe??! And they just hired a lot of younger folk for summer time).

I have the worst luck fishing. I always scare the fish away. D;with fishing, closing my eyes and listening for the big "bloop!" noise and being quick on the button really helps better than the watching.

I have several mod wood pieces. I have clock, shelf, sofa, stool, and chest. But out of those, I guess you'd only need the clock... I am also checking to see if my friend has any more, since he is collecting that particular set.
Also, I'm pretty sure visitors can't donate. In fact, you can't even donate yourself if a visitor is in your town.

I think some of the games coming out might rely more upon that sort of system, and that's why they may be putting it out.I believe they're updating SpotPass, because Nintendo is realizing that unlike Japan, it can be pretty difficult to get a StreetPass in the US and other countries due to where you live. I've heard of people that have had a 3DS since launch, but have never streetpassed anyone. Even if you live in a major US city, it can be hard to get a streetpass (or more than a handful of them). D:

And yus, there is DLC for the game! If you go the the post office and choose "ask about a present", you should get a rainbow screen from Nintendo. :) Next month's DLC will be the Palm Tree Lamp. :) A lot of the ones I got are ones that were only out in Japan at the moment.

So, here I am, sitting here. Minding my own business, I have 2 extra play coins from getting the fortune cookies this morning. SO I decided to go to my Mii Plaza and play Find Mii. When all of the sudden.. Reggie, is in my Ds....Just chilling out. Um...Reggie is a CEO or something for Nintendo...why is he is my Ds?!Spot pass. You get "special miis" through spot pass, like Miyamoto and stuff. Basically if you connect to WiFi you get them. Its a blue light as opposed to a green one for street pass, and Reggies house should be in your animal crossing HH showcase now too.

i have a question about rare stuff... how rare is rare? I seem to be able to get supposedly rare fish and bugs really easily....They are still rare (compared to other fush and bugs), but they do appear much more frequently compared to past AC games. Especially on the island at night. xD
i've caught countless rainbow stags, 2 golden stags, 3 whale sharks, 2 saw sharks and couple of hammerhead sharks.... am i good at catching/fishing or is my game "luckier" or what? lol!

Bell Boom is one of the town Ordinances you can put in as the mayor. It greatly increases the amount of bells you get when you sell (and buy) items. :D It's very good to use if you want to make a TON of bells quickly.OMG BRIGHTSIDE *glomp*

I'm too much of a bounce back and forth time traveler (it's just how I play the game, it makes it more fun for me. :D and for my playstyle because I'm more likely to play in the wee hours of the morning).I think time traveling is fun - did it all the time in the first two games! xD the only reason I didnt do it for CF and this one is because I have other games that use the 3ds clock, and I dont want to accidentally mess them up over it. xD

Gettng villagers to move is hard! I think the two easiest ways are to beat them up a lot and never talk to them, because it seems that if they get a chance to tell you they're moving, then no matter what response you give, they'll end up staying. The other way is to find someone who wants them. They can visit and send your villager some letters and talk to them a lot and build a friendship. Then the villager will likely move to their town.i see. i had a villager who decided to move on his own and i didnt stop him and he went....

You should have Reggie and now Rich, both are SpotPass homes from Nintendo. If you have others, then you've gotten StreetPasses. You can always check your Notifications from the Home screen. ^_^

You're not an idiot. :hug: For future reference, if you get a StreetPass it will show up as a glowing green dot on your Notifications tab on the Home Screen. It may also be present on the game's icon if they are also an AC player (cannot confirm as I have never StreetPassed, but it shows the blue dot on the game's icon when you get a SpotPass).

I overhauled my Catalog spreadsheet.sounds like a neat idea to me! I would be interested in it. :)
So I was thinking we could do a round robin catalog session if people are interested. Basically, everyone who joins in brings their own items for everyone else to catalog and we make a system so that everyone gets a chance to catalog all of the items they need. I had an idea that we could do it by columns, so each person makes a column of items and then they start cataloguing the column to the right of theirs, so then when it's over everyone will have gone through every column and ended up back at their own column of items.
Anyone have any thoughts?
