Has anyone else seen this yet?

They have Funko glitter Rainbow Dash up for sale on Amazon for $13.99, being sold and shipped from Amazon. It also says in the title "SDCC Amazon Exclusive." I've never seen that in a description on Amazon before.
Does anyone know if this is legit? I ordered one. I wonder if it will be the actual SDCC exclusive when it comes in the mail, or if it's just a mis-listing?

I bought one because it appears to be retailed by the official Funko, but who knows. If it doesn't pan out, Amazon is really good with customer service so I'm not concerned with a little gamble.

It's not usually a big deal- you just go under your orders, say you want to return it, and then just say it wasn't what was listed or whatever. Then you ship it back!

If its all lies well then Amazon is a large company and they wont mess around in refunding me! I think there isnt a picture because the image for here hasnt been announced yet? Yes this - the images are from Funko and show the SDCC exclusives - they have been floating around for a while. However, they dont prove who Amazon are offering.
I am not saying its not possible and for the sake of ensuring more collectors track these down, I hope it is. But it would be odd and I am highly doubtful...especially as it would be in stock before Funko have technically even confirmed who their exclusives at SDCC are [they are in theory a surprise even with these leaked pics].
Also they are listed on Amazon cheaper than they will be getting sold for at SDCC which is $20.

??!! I'm sure it didn't say that before- did it? I remember reading the description and thinking that despite the title, the description sounded like regular ole Dash.
Anyway- based on the new(?) descript I have revised my opinion and now think there is a damned good chance these could be legit! I ordered another one- I'm going to feel SO stupid if they are the regular RD, but it sure sounds like they are the SDCC ones!
ALSO- geminicollectibles (who sells Funko products) also now has a bunch of 2013 SDCC stuff up on their website available for sale- so who knows? Maybe Funko mailed out their exclusives early ?? Seems odd but now I can't WAIT till Wednesday!

Not to worry- I won't blame you in the least if a couple of regular Dash ponies show up- even if they do- the listing very clearly indicates that the ponies are SDCC glitter Rainbow Dash ponies- and now that the description matches- what else can we think??
I do fear now that there was some sort of listing error (maybe it went up automatically based on an incorrect date) and we'll get a refund notice tomorrow when the person filling the order discovers that the ponies aren't in stock yet... the fact that there is no picture yet lends credibility to that theory.
Guess we'll all just have to be patient- either way dxgirly- thank you for posting!

I really want Bubbles more, but since the description at Amazon says "SDCC Amazon Exclusive" I'm guessing this particular one is exclusive to Amazon, while the other one is Funko's SDCC exclusive. I'd love to be wrong about that, though, but I think she'll probably only be sold at SDCC.

Oh! I bet you are right- the description is for "SDCC Amazon exclusive" so maybe RD is that, while the grey peg is the Funko exclusive. I tried looking up whether Amazon had any other "SDCC exclusives" for itself, and couldn't find any, but that does seem to make the most sense.
My first pony allegedly shipped yesterday so hopefully I will find out today what the story is! I wish they'd just post a picture, lol but then again, the pony will probably be instantly sold out the second that happens...

I just got mine and opened the package; it is the real deal. I pulled out a sparkly Funko RD with a Comic-Con sticker on the box.

The blue part of her mane is transparent but the rest is painted which is pretty cool.

It's actual a pretty high limit for an SDCC piece. Previous years had limits of 400. Some pieces have limits of like 30. Collecting Funko is serious business ;)
Seriously though, it's pretty mind boggling to know that only that many exist! :P

It is weird to think of them in terms of that small of a finite number. I mean in comparison to mass production, where we're talking about possibly hundreds of thousands, 1008 is still pretty darn limited.

Thanks for posting. RD is my favorite and I bought one. Mine is suppose to arrive at the end of the week. I hope that mine is also the SDCC exclusive. One less SDCC that I have to get.

She is remarkably cool- just as sparkly as the Hasbro exclusive, a fraction of the price, and significantly better looking in my opinion!
I wonder how the heck Amazon is able to do this! I wonder if it was a mistake and they were supposed to go up next month ? Who knows! Keep an eye out for the grey one everyone- (although I think that the prior idea that maybe this is an Amazon special exclusive and Funko will keep the grey one for SDCC has merit)
As for the size- definitely bigger than prior Funko SDCC exclusive runs- but I think that this year the fervor over the exclusive toys has reached an all time high- so maybe all the companies increased the number of their runs. I know that the run for the Jem exclusive this year will be "bigger" than last year (last year it was 500 and sold out in minutes).
Don't know how fast the ponies sold out last year, but I bet it was pretty fast too... (I hope Mattel increases the size of its MH exclusive run too...)

I caved and bought a couple. :P I do quite like the Funkos but was waiting for them to hit the UK later this year to avoid paying crazy shipping prices. These are really nice looking though and are a much nicer price than I was anticipating. These are the first SDCC exclusives I've indulged in too (save for Bubbly Grey Pegasus but she came from Taobao).
Shipping to the UK was much cheaper than anticipated too which is great. :biggrin:
I do wonder how this cheap, interesting listing came to be but I'm not complaining.:P

I ended up cancelling my first order and re-ordered Dash & added Drama Pony to the order to qualify for free shipping. The RD I got this time was one of the discounted ones with a damaged box. That way I saved a few dollars and I don't keep the boxes anyway, so I'm fine with it. I'll just pre-order the Funko Pop! Fluttershy separately later. Those don't come out for awhile anyway. I couldn't bring myself to pay $4 to ship Drama Pony alone and I didn't want to add on additional items to qualify for free shipping again, so I'm glad I did it this way. I really need to talk my mom into letting us get Prime.

I wonder if these will be harder to get than glittery Fluttershy and Dr Whooves after they sell out. 1008 limited run vs. 1 out of every 24 made. I wonder how many of those were made total? Surely more than 24,192.... right?

For Lyra and Pinkie Pie, it will be 1 in 24 for the clear variant, as well as future releases. In the beginning they didn't have clear versions of these two so they wanted to have them released as well, rather than having them go into stores they decided to do them as exclusives.
Not going to lie I kinda hope the two excluives for Funko ponies will be different ones now though ;) Princess Celestia and Luna in much large size with sculpted hair please :) <3

It did- I tried ordering 3 and it said customer limit 2... even with the limit, I have a hard time believing they won't run out fast. 1000 is a fairly small run (big for an exclusive, but small for a regular run)

I'm POSITIVE you are correct. And thank goodness! It wasn't until today that people started getting them so we knew that the listing was in fact- for a real SDCC exclusive and not a mistake of some sort. The lack of a picture still probably makes some people hesitate :biggrin:

yeah, don't trust the 'Shipping now' title. Click on the tracking button and it will actually tell you where your order is in ling. I have a order with 'shipping now' and it's still under Order received as the update lol.

And I really think people from the Arena (if they are from the Arena) need to stop running to EqD with the news that people HERE find, usually without their permission. This is info that collectors want to find for other collectors, and it isn't easy to just come across. So to exploit that work and send it to the masses is disrespectful, in my opinion.

I was so excited for everyone that I had been proven wrong and despite how unlikely it was that they were the real deal...and then as I read on it turns out its been a mistaken release :( I am so sorry to everyone who has missed out.
Although am I the only one who wonders if there are only a 1008 run - counting how many ordered here and by others notified through other websites - how many are left for SDCC :P Although I am guessing they perhaps were planning on taking X amount to SDCC and Amazon have a set amount. The ones ordered I would guess would not suddenly go to SDCC for sale but would pop back up for sale on a set street date.
Perhaps if you guys contacted Amazon and said you understand they cant be shipped now but you were happy to wait for your order to ship after they should technically be listed? Just a thought.

I think it's my fault. I posted a tip on the Funko Funatics forum, because I'm a member there as well. So either Funko found out from someone on there, or when it hit EQD. I didn't tip EQD off, though.

Oh well that's too bad but not your fault! You didn't know Amazon's listing was a mistake. Funko is such a small community I think that quite a few of the Funko employees probably keep an eye on the Funko forum...

I don't think anyone on the Funko forum is a "tattle tale" but I know that some of the creators for Funko are on the forum, so someone (maybe a rep or artist) probably saw the post- thought "what the heck?" because SDCC isn't until next month- and asked the person at Funko who controls these things what was going on.
I bet Funko was pretty upset to find out that its exclusive was leaked a month early- I fell a teensy bit bad about that, but selfishly, still want my ponies...
I DO hope that Funko will have enough ponies to sell at SDCC- it would actually be really terrible if they didn't.

For what it's worth, my order says "shipping now" (ordered like three hours ago) and when I tried to cancel (for science), it tells me that while I could cancel, there is no guarantee that Amazon will be able to stop it, so maybe my order is going to hit the truck.

Yeah, if they run out Amazon keeps the listing but says "Currently Unavailable", but now the links to the two pages just say "Not found" instead, which means Amazon pulled it.

Maybe amazon will renew the listing after the Con? I'm agree that the listing is down because Funko asked that it be pulled.
Upon reflection, I am also quite optimistic that the orders that went through won't get cancelled- because that would be very complicated to track down the shipping process and stop it midstream- particularly when there is a product for the "fullfillment" employees to find. And then issue refunds for shipping (probably already printed) and the like.
Much easier just to stop the listing once the mistake is learned. I'm sure Funko wishes that Amazon could withdraw all of the ponies that are in some stage of the shipping process but not out the door- just don't see that as being very feasible.

I just hope whoever messed up doesn't loose their job. I guess someone slapped a 6 where a 7 would go, and opened the ordering dates early.
I almost feel like those that ordered will get one, because as Galactica said, cancelling all those orders would be a logistical nightmare, plus I bet there would be some outrage from those that didn't get it. I don't think anyone here would be that mad, but Amazon's pretty good about bending over backwards to save a customer.

My order says "shipping now". I have seen that status before (my brother recently bought a PS3 game that had super saver shipping) and I know it can say "Shipping Now" for 2-3 days, but it really just means it's being packed and is being prepared to ship out.
I know I will be really upset with Amazon if they do cancel my order. They put it up by mistake, yes, but it's their mistake and I feel like they should honor it. Just like how if a store forgets to remove signage after a sale, they usually honor the sale price. Really, in the end, I think this was a good thing. If these were only available at SDCC, they'd mostly be snatched up by scalpers and we'd have to pay huge amounts of money for them on eBay. But with them being directly on Amazon, and the fact that members here were among the first to have a chance to buy them, it means more of them will land in the hands of collectors who will appreciate them more and we didn't have to pay tons to get them, either. I kind of feel bad for the person who listed them, though. I hope they don't get fired. It does seem like they got the dates mixed up (6/17 instead of 7/17) which is a pretty easy mistake to make.

So many translucent/glitter ponies added to my herd recently, I just impulsively bought a newly listed BIN Funko Glitter Variant Fluttershy sealed in box, mint condition for a cheapo price (private, but it was near but not over $50)! Poor wallet... at least now I am caught up with Funko!

I'm not entirely sure I want to keep my RD (assuming it does actually ship) and I've been after the clear Fluttershy for awhile now but I can't afford to pay $50+ for her, so I'd love to trade Dash for her. Anyone think that might be possible, or am I just dreaming?

They are both pretty darn rare to me! Yes SDCC RD will be available to anyone for those who attend the event but her numbers are limited, then there's glitter Fluttershy who might appear 1 out of every 2 Funko freight boxes (1-24 chance) although she can be found at HT all around the United States. Someone here who cant make it to the comic con might be willing to trade, I think its very possible! =D I feel Glitter RD is a bit more rare than Fluttershy since the Fluttershy glitter might pop up around stores for a while. Heck, you might be able to sell RD on ebay and have enough to buy a glitter fluttershy+ other ponies from ebay! All depends on how this new sparkly RD sells....which I predict that she would sell well since she is a 'favorite' character and is very limited!

I got my auto confirmation at 3EST for rainbow dash and at 4:22EST for one of the bubble butts and for the other 5:22EST I hope they process my order soon the wait is killing me!! I ordered Drama Pony 4:42 pm yesterday, and my order was canceled, RD is in transit though placed 2:08am yesterday. They probably under estimated the popularity, they get special Tranformers exclusives from time to time.

I'm not entirely sure I want to keep my RD (assuming it does actually ship) and I've been after the clear Fluttershy for awhile now but I can't afford to pay $50+ for her, so I'd love to trade Dash for her. Anyone think that might be possible, or am I just dreaming?

I ordered Derby 4:42 pm yesterday, and my order was canceled, RD is in transit though placed 2:08am yesterday. They probably under estimated the popularity, they get special Tranformers exclusives from time to time.

I ordered my bubbles at 12:46:13 PST - still have a "shipping now" status. That is bad news to me because it NEVER takes that long when I order prime to get a tracking number.
I notice lots of people who ordered after me are getting shipping confirmations. So I am thinking that it must have to do with which warehouse is filling which orders.... I guess the one in Seattle/WA was too slow...
I won't give up hope yet but am not feeling very optimistic anymore... -_-

So I'm hoping that's all this is.

Also- they advised that if I "ordered" by August 18th (check) the package would arrive by August 20th - so they are running out of time to get it into the mail - if in fact, they plan to ship at all... what I really fear is that whatever warehouse feeds my order went home early and got back in time to see the stop-order, and now they are debating what to do about it...
but I do still have a frail, thin thread of hope- and I certainly appreciate your comment as it adds water to that hope ... :lookround:

Ok, my order status just changed from "Shipping Now" to "Not yet shipped". I went ahead and changed my shipping speed from free to standard, which will hopefully help. I'm just too nervous to wait around any further so paying the $5 extra is worth it.

She's the one I wanted more. Really, instead of cancelling orders, they should let us choose to turn the order into a "pre-order" of sorts and just wait a month to ship it. I'd be perfectly fine with that. I just don't want to miss out on getting her just because I can't afford to go to SDCC or to buy her for a huge markup on eBay.
Also, I noticed my order status changed almost immediately once I changed from the free to paid shipping. So I guess they do delay orders with free shipping.

Out for delivery! I'm hoping everyone who ordered one will get one if it hasn't been cancelled already. That said, I am going to Comic Con this year and if I am able to pick up extras, I will, and I can guarantee that I will sell them at-cost, but will probably limit them to people who tried to order her on Amazon, but then posted here that their order was cancelled. But, not guaranteed I'll be able to grab them or carry all of them, seeing as I'll be dressed as Spock...who doesn't really have a bag prop or anything :(
That said, if anyone wants a photo of Bubbles to confirm her design, I should have mine by 5-6pm (it's 12pm where I am now, PST).

Yeah, I hate to say it ShortyBoo, but that doesn't sound good. :huh: Last night when I went to bed my RD said "Shipping Now" and Bubbles said "Not yet shipped", and my RD WAS shipped but Bubbles cancelled. I'd be okay with it if any orders after x time were cancelled, but others that were later than mine were shipped and I've got a Prime account even. So... I don't know. This seems really random to me!

I think there is a chance she'll turn up after Comic Con- I don't think that she'll be cheaper. Probably they intended to sell whatever didn't sell to the vendors and attendees at SDCC, on Amazon. Only Amazon messed up and started the listing a month early.
I also wouldn't characterize it as bragging- it feels like we've all been sitting on pins and needles waiting to see which orders will go through- I think it is a bit encouraging also to others still waiting to hear that some of us have also been waiting- and then suddenly the order might go through.

For now, I'm going to hold out hope because it's still not cancelled. I think if they were going to cancel it, they would have already. But if they do, they will have a very angry customer to deal with. I don't care what their reasoning is, they need to honor ALL the orders that came in before they pulled the listing. Not just some of them, all of them. It's not fair to cancel some orders and not others.

Sorry, I didn't mean any offence and "bragging" was a poor choice of words. I was just trying to give a silver lining to people who haven't been successful. I very much do hope they come back on amazon in July and it would be a bonus for people who have missed out to get a better deal. I do feel really bad for everyone that missed out or got the order cancelled.

No- but I used prime from Washington early yesterday afternoon (around 12:45 pst)- and it wasn't until today- at about 11:30 am that my order changed from "shipping now" to "shipped" - so don't give up hope.

I REALLY wanted her and there's no way I'll be able to afford her later.

I've calmed down quite a bit already, but I swear if they try to charge me shipping and handling for the item I ordered with it specifically to get free shipping... It was several months ago, but last time I ordered from Amazon, it was mostly for one item and some other stuff added on for free shipping - the thing I wanted most was canceled because it was "accidentally" listed too early, but my other things went out and it still used the free super saver shipping even though the new total wasn't close to $25.

I don't think they'll do that - Amazon is actually usually really good about customer service. They replace lost/stolen packages no questions asked- and always take returns. I actually think they are a pretty good company. I can understand why Funko wanted them to stop the listings- probably the only ones that got out are the ones that were too far along to stop (depending on the distribution center probably).

Aw- It sucks if you don't get one- and I do hope you do- but as these things suddenly became rare/htf- I don't see much wrong with selling or trading off an extra. It's not like anyone bought these all up with the intention of keeping them out of the hands of anyone else who wanted them. Amazon limited purchases to 2 per purchase, and it really was just luck who got one and who didn't (with maybe more luck for people with amazon prime).
I got mine for myself to display and to keep in a box- but now that they are suddenly more valuable, why wouldn't I want to trade one for something I want more or sell it so I can get something else?

I don't think anyone bought these with the intention of taking advantage of other people- we all bought thinking they'd be $14- taking a risk even that they may or may not even be SDCC ponies.
But I certainly understand your frustration- it is painful to wait and not know. I wouldn't give up yet though- because the order I placed early on the 18th with Prime shipping- (and they usually ship and post tracking the same day for prime orders) - didn't update with shipping info until later today. I expect that non-prime orders may take even longer for the shipping process. Also- if they were going to cancel your orders- wouldn't that have happened by now? Don't give up yet...

Now both items don't say "Not yet shipped"... instead only RD says that, and Bubbles says "Shipping Now". Of course, the same thing happened earlier today, only it was RD that was supposedly shipping before both changed to "Not yet shipped". But I guess the fact that my order hasn't cancelled yet and that it occasionally updates is a good sign. I just hope if nothing else, I can at least get Bubbles.

Agreed. -_-; Like, I can kind of understand 'scalping' items from exclusive events - because you have to pay for a ticket to get in, stand in line, etc, and you have to recover costs from that. (Time is money!) It seems kind of ridiculous to ask people to pay excess money for an item you just bought online. >_> But, I digress. This may or may not be wholly biased because I didn't get one and I don't wanna spend $120 for one. :P

I gotta say, I preferred the idea of Bubbles with clear yellow glittery hair, it made her just a tad more exciting for a SDCC exclusive... but alas, painted hair. I doubt there will be any leftover after the con to be listed online but good luck to everyone hoping to get them, be it fulfilled orders or crossed fingers. ^.^

At least Bubbles will be consistent with the Fluttershy & Dr. Whooves chases but it seems a little weird that Dash will be the only one with translucency in her hair.
I really want to know if the upcoming Lyra and Pinkie Pie will have similar chase figures!

Still no update on my order. :huh: Bubbles still says "Shipping Now" and RD says "Not yet shipped" despite me ordering both at the same time, on the same order. Both are still showing Monday as the estimated delivery date, but if they don't get shipping soon, I don't see how they'll make it here by then.
EDIT: Yay! Bubbles is now on the way to me! It says "Shipped" and she has a tracking number. Rainbow Dash, on the other hand, is still showing as "Not yet shipped" but since I really wanted Bubbles more, I'm happy for now. I still hope RD will follow suit and ship eventually as well.
I think my order may have gotten split up because instead of showing "Sold by Amazon.com LLC" like Bubbles does, Rainbow Dash actually says "Sold by Warehouse Deals, Inc" because I opted for the cheaper one with a slightly damaged box. I'm actually kind of hopeful that she will eventually ship. I imagine since there were only a few (2 when I ordered) that were sold like that, that they probably were not in the same warehouse that Bubbles was in. I'm guessing that could have been the holdup for my order. They were probably trying to figure out a way to ship them together (to save them money) but in the end, it couldn't be done so they're going out separately. At least I hope so.

I know folks who missed out on this were disappointed but i think that Amazon will be able to put the these back up during SDCC. I'm hoping they will also have other Funko exclusives.

That really depends. We don't know how many sold. We know there's 1008 of each, but I'm guessing that Amazon was supposed to just sell any leftovers that didn't sell at SDCC on their site afterward, similar to how Hasbro sells the SDCC pony on their site after SDCC. Either that, or they were planning to split them between the site and SDCC. Say they decided to split them and sell 504 of each on their site and the other 504 at the con. Well, if they sold like 300 of each of them because of the mistake, then that would only leave around 200 of each, which means they'll be even more limited after and will likely sell out quickly. And if they were only planning on selling the leftovers, then there likely won't be any left. I could see them easily selling all 1008 of each figure at SDCC, no problem. With how big that event is, and with all the dealers and scalpers that will be there, they'll sell out. Either way, I'm sure this mistake doesn't make Amazon or Funko very happy.

Yeah- I can't see that happening. The Toy companies make limited runs of an exclusive for a reason- they WANT the items to be limited and highly sought after- it generates excitement over their line, and boosts sales for other stuff. If they secretly made 50,000 (say) of an exclusive instead of 500-1000 (a typical "exclusive" size run)- they wouldn't be as hard to get or exciting to collectors.
I am curious of course what a typical "run" is for a FUnko line- ie, how many crystal Fluttershy ponies are there, exactly? But I'm guessing based on the staggered releases- that Funko can print more up as quantities become low- or as they expand their market from Hot Topic to world-wide retailers. Unlike certain collectible dolls- they have no obligation to limit production to a certain quantity.

I have collected funko for nearly 2 years now. Peanuts compared to some other collectors but based on what i have witnessed in years pact, funko does not bring it's entire stock of limited SDCC to SDCC. Some funko fans do a funko pre-buy where they buy everything that funko offers at SDCC. The items are shipped to them after SDCC.
additionally, last year gemini recieved some stock and i am guessing this year gemini will get some stock as well as amazon.
Plus some of the funko collectors who have done the pre-buy won't be collecting everything.
Additionally, I got a shipping confirmation for RD!! I did the free shipping option and RD should be at my house on monday. Can't wait!
Also, in terms of the production pieces and the other clear ponies, I don't think we will know what the numbers are. Since they produce 1 clear/glittery pony for every 24 regular ones, it all depends on how many Fluttershy or Dr. WHooves the may total. Hot topic has a 6 month exclusivity but then the ponies and the chase pieces could be available to any retailers. RD and Drama pony will be the most rare since they are SDCC exclusives.
For some of the other funko figures, the batman metallic figure is the most common since there are so many more of him produced. We just don't know the whole production run.
Additionally, someone mentioned drama's tail and mane not being clear. I don't think they painted the mane and tail. I think they probably decided to use the existing tail and mane and just added sparkle. was probably cheaper since they needed those for the production pieces. Not sure why RD is clear with painted rather than the non clear tail and mane of the production piece.

Don't quote me on this, but I'm almost positive Warehouse Deals and Amazon are the same entity. I just think Amazon likes to use that for used or damaged items that they sell, as they usually come in Amazon boxes.
They could be a second party, but they must be like super close to Amazon, like how Alpina is to BMW. BMW doesn't own them, but they are so close that you could buy one at a BMW dealer.
As far as the amount sold, I would imagine (or like to hope) that Funko wasn't stupid enough to give Amazon all the ponies at first, take them to SDCC, and take them back to Amazon. It seems really convoluted. Most likely they gave some to Amazon to sell after the con, though what ratio they used to split is probably never going to come out.

Is the glitter mixed inside the plastic, or is it just surface glitter like how Hasbro does glitter on ponies? I can't tell from the pictures. Do these have their cutie marks on both sides or just one like the normal vinyl figures? I'm guessing one, but it would be nice if they were on both sides since both RD and Bubbles look better on the other side.
My Rainbow Dash is still not shipped, but they haven't cancelled yet, so I'm still holding out hope that she'll go out soon. At least Bubbles was shipped and will be here on Monday.

On the translucent part of the pony, the glitter is mixed inside the pony plastic but there is glitter glued on the outside, but just on certain parts of the mane/tail. :)

I feel they might be available online somewhere from Funko after the SDCC event! HotTopic might even have a giveaway like they did with 2012 Bubbles last year! Since some were sold on amazon, I would check their amazon listings after the event weekend is over! They could be event retail or they could slightly raise the price if they list them again.

Wow, there is definitely a theme this year for SDCC exclusive ponies... bling!!! XD What with DJ Pon-3 getting a super glam treatment, and now the Funko ponies being sparkletastic, it could be crazy for the people carrying them around... flashes of light everywhere! But they are so pretty... I like the way the clear wings glow in the light.

I know it sounds silly on a friendly website such as this but honestly if you have the time to watermark your images please do so. We ensure that people who are not members cannot see pictures but that does not stop people who are just here for information and images from signing up and "borrowing" people's pictures.

Well, I'm pretty upset with Amazon right now. I checked my order this morning, and it only showed Bubbles and was acting as if I had never ordered Rainbow Dash at all. I was quite angry at that point since they waited all that time only to cancel it, plus, I was mad because people who ordered after I did got theirs, so I went ahead and contacted customer support. Not surprisingly, they weren't all that helpful. They claimed they "didn't know" why it was cancelled or why it wasn't on the site anymore. Yeah, right. :rolleyes: Then I was offered free 1 day shipping on a different item, which really doesn't help me since I don't want anything else, I just want what I ordered. And unless they do send me RD (I don't care if they wait until July to send me her, I just want to be sure I get one) I won't be shopping on Amazon for quite some time. I was told they'd pass my issue on to someone else (I guess someone higher up) but they couldn't do that through chat, only email, so I now have to wait 1-2 days until I get an email from them.

I guess you can look on the bright side that you have managed to secure the one of the two who seems to be more difficult to get hold of. A fair few people acquired two RDs I have noticed so she will hopefully be a little easier to track down!

I noticed she's now going for $80 on eBay. :shocked: And here I thought $50 was way overpriced for the clear Fluttershy. I guess I should be happy that Bubbles at least shipped, but now I'm wishing I hadn't cancelled my original order when Bubbles showed up so I could get both of them together in one order. Then, maybe I'd have RD, too. Either way, I wish they had just cancelled Dash earlier because then maybe I could have found someone with an extra, but now I'm sure everyone who did have an extra has already sold or traded it.

So hope for those who might have given up- I had made my first order with a Prime account- and then went back and made a second order immediately after with a non-prime account- The Prime order shipped pretty fast- but for DAYS my non-prime account has said "shipping now"
This morning it just changed to shipped! So if your order has been taking forever- don't give up yet- it looks like if they haven't cancelled them by now- they are probably going to go through.
I think there is a good chance Gemini collectibles will have some after the Con since they have a lot of Funko stuff and are carrying ponies now.

Because the SDCC clear RD and Bubbles both said Amazon exclusive, so I doubt they'd be sold anywhere else. Items that are sold as exclusive to TRU won't be sold at Walmart and Walmart exclusives won't show up on Target's site, etc.

Oh man, I totally missed both of them. I've been dealing with the passing of my grandma & haven't been on the pony site :( This is what I get, I miss getting the 2 ponies I was looking forward to getting after the com con. Oh I was fooled by that too at first! But yeah- for the POP figures- I actually had to take the Vinyl one back out of my cart- they should NOT be using the vinyl "shadow" for that pre-order.. they should use the POP shadow.

DJ is the exclusive for Hasbro, not Funko.

It does seem odd, but hey, money does strange things to companies.

My ponies came sooner than expected, I used the super saver shipping and the estimate said they'd arrive on the 25th!
They're very pretty and having them almost makes me want to get the Fluttershy and Whooves to match.
The surface glitter on their hair doesn't seem to be sealed well, each time I handle them I get more glitter on my hands! And they reek of plastic fumes (when loose), but that should go away eventually.

Funko are actually going to be attending the MLP Fair this year with a vendor presence. :)
But as others have said I doubt these will be there as the Fair is before SDCC so timing would be out and it looks as though they have an agreement with Amazon to sell stock anyway. There wont be any stock left at SDCC even if they had all 1008 and the same with Amazon - so I doubt there will be any heading to the Fair even if the Fair was after SDCC.

My two RD's arrived today! ^_^ I'm so happy, this is the first time in a looong time I didn't miss out on something. They are truly cute! Although... I really don't understand why both Hasbro and Funko are so insistent on gluing freakin' glitter all over their toys... It's not like they couldn't figure out how to incorporate glitter into the plastic. We had the technology for sparkle ponies that don't flake off in your hands in the 80's!!! How did we regress to gluing on glitter 30 years later??
(But I won't complain too much, this is rare luck for me! This almost makes up for missing out on all the special promo MLP Trading Cards that were up on a 1-day sale earlier this month! ;_; )

I got Bubbles today, but she has tons of glue all over her. Normally glue wouldn't be a big deal, but since she's shiny and translucent, the glue really stands out. I realize there's probably nothing that can be done with the glue that's all over her right eye, but there's a huge streak on her forehead leading to her eye, a bunch that appears to have dripped from her mane on the NDS and a bunch on her neck and legs, especially the hind legs. I'm guessing acetone wouldn't be safe to use on her, so does anyone know anything that will remove the glue without melting the vinyl?

The second photo was with the flash, and there you can see the glue on the eye itself better, but the other pic shows the glue between the eyes and on her cheek a bit better.

This one, the glue is pooled below the hair and almost reaches the eye. It's kind of hard to see.

The glue on the hind legs (it's on both legs, at slightly different spots) was tricky to photograph. In every pic I took of it, with or without flash, it just looked like a blurry spot in the photo. That's pretty much how it looks in person. It's like a cloudy spot on the vinyl where you can't clearly see the glitter and it doesn't have the same gloss as the spots without glue.

Hmm I can totally see what you mean. The glue on the legs is pretty noticeable and it would bother me. I'm not sure if acetone would et that off. Maybe dip a teeny bit on a qtip?
Or maybe a magic eraser... I'm not the best with getting rid of flaws.

I don't think acetone would do anything except turn the vinyl from clear to frosty. I second the previous post that mentioned contacting Funko, they may be willing to send a replacement.

I'm kind of afraid to try anything because I don't want to ruin her, especially since I may never be able to get another one. I'll try contacting Funko, but for some reason I don't think they'd do much since no one is even supposed to have one right now. But I guess it's worth a shot. I've never dealt with them so I have no idea how their customer service is. If nothing else, I suppose they'd know what can be used to safely remove the glue from the vinyl without ruining it, right?

Fedex drops the packages to the USPS sometimes and they do the last mile delivery !, but not all the packages, not sure which ones get delivered by the usps ,I guess anything small !, out for delivery means it has been placed in their vehicle for delivery, maybe it was just loaded to be delivered tomorrow , guess these trucks get loaded on sunday or late at night on saturday in some post offices , I have a USPS as neighbors LOL they do work on weekends on the back .

Somehow I got a delivery on Sunday. I'm happy that both of my SDCC ponies came.
Like a previous poster my ponies are not perfect. On my drama pony there is some glue residue along her hairline up towards her eyes. And mine also has the glue on at least 1 of her hind legs. it's not as smooth and is pretty thin. I do notice every line on her more than on the non translucent ones.
My RD has glue along her hairline towards her neck and a few drips of yellow paint on the blue part of her tail. They aren't huge blemishes and I can live with them all.
I do wish they had not put glitter on the mane and tails. It comes off everytime I handle them.
I'm just happy they are here!

I received my pair today :) it was by the mail box ,so glad no one just took them from my mail box, as I have a privacy fence and the mail box is too close to the street , most of the homes here have their mail box by their door ,old homes I guess :)
anyway , the ponies are awesome , took pics of them before unboxing them , they are now joining my translucent herd on the window sill so the day light hits them and makes them shine shine shine !! :)

Maybe if I contact them again after SDCC, they'll answer me. If they don't, then I guess I'll just assume that they have horrible customer service.

No, I didn't ask them for a replacement. I don't want a replacement, actually. I just want to know what I can use to remove the glue without harming the vinyl. Since I know I won't be able to get another, I don't want to risk using something like acetone and have it melt the vinyl or something. I figured they'd know more about the materials they use to make the figures and would be able to answer that.
Not sure how you tried to reach them but the best way may be to message them on facebook.
I just emailed them at the address listed under the contact section of their official site. I don't have a facebook account (believe it or not, some people don't) so that's not an option for me.
That would definitely be helpful to know- maybe someone on the Funko forum would know...

Oh I don't think they will be widely available since there was only 1008 of each made. I'm guessing left overs- if any, will be on Amazon at the time of the Con or shortly thereafter and so maybe some more people will manage to score them at $14 a pop. Then the price might get high (unless they are really unpopular- which seems just a bit unlikely I guess)
I seem to recall the 2012 Hasbro SDCC pony steadily increasing in price and then hovering around $100/$150 ever since.

I think with the 1008 run they were able to split them. 200 or so for folks who did the funko sdcc pre-buy, 400 for SDCC, 200 for amazon and 200 for gemini. so, more than enough to go around. maybe there are more mlp fans that don't like the glittery??
But with funko the 1000+ exclusives have always been plentiful.

And since I complained when they cancelled the RD from my last order, I was promised free 1 day shipping for my next order, so I took them up on it this time. I should have my ponies by tomorrow.

Last time I was super nice and only ordered a single Rainbow Dash since she was the one I most wanted and I knew they were limited. But since they cancelled my order last time while so many others got their's, this time I said to heck with it! And they upped their price, I see, another reason to dislike amazon.

I actually agree Marigold. When you factor 1) the stock they have for 4 days of SDCC, those pre sold on Amazon, the number now on Amazon and on Gemini. Then consider that many people are buying multiples and that ebay is filled with ones which have clearly been picked up by scalpers. Consider the number of bronies, the number of pony collectors and the number of Funko collectors...I am amazed that they seem to be so plentiful if their truly was only 1008 of each created.

I wonder how many Amazon actually have, and how many know the listing is there and that it's legit. It doesn't seem like the same scenario as with FS Dizzy Hooves from last year where everyone knew she was coming so she sold out super fast. The Funko ponies, especially the glitter ones, just don't appeal to some people like the brushables do, too, so it could just be that these aren't as popular so it's taking longer to sell the stock. It would hurt Funko's reputation if someone found out there weren't as limited as they said they were, like if they suddenly released the other chase figures widely or something.
I dunno, I'm just trying to be optimistic XD I only paid a few £ more than it would have cost me to buy the regular Dizzy, and I agree that it's nice to be able to get your hands on a special item without having to refresh over and over.

Does anyone know whether Amazon is still limiting orders to 2 of each? That might help explain why they wouldn't have run out of stock despite the fact that their number must be fairly limited given the many different places she is available. Or, perhaps Amazon has all the stock (except the ones physically at SDCC) and they are just providing supply to those other websites... (not sure if they do that)

I think people getting them from Amazon do have the stickers. So it seems all these orders are the exclusives. Maybe they just don't plan on having a bunch at the con. Maybe it saves them a headach.

Well Popcultcha always has SDCC exclusives, and they're currently 'in stock' so they must have a certain number put aside before the con, not just leftovers.
For us poor Aussies who have no hope of getting to ComicCon I guess, Popcultcha is the best lol :P

The metallic POPs are exclusive to Gemini and to ToyWiz.

With Funko its always possible that the exclusively is timed however. Neither Gemini or ToyWiz are going to admit if thats the case or not because of course they want you to buy from them. But all the other "exclusive" Funko releases have turned out to simply be period exclusivity. So maybe you could have luck in the future?

They may be a reseller. That is what ToyWiz are as well; for example they will often carry Target exclusives - but they have bought them from Target not from Hasbro and hence sell them on at a significantly marked up price. I would guess Popcultcha may be doing something similar by the sounds of it. Or perhaps Funko/ToyWiz/Gemini because they do not have an outlet in Aus, they could simply use Popcultcha as a kind of franchise.

Just letting people know that the Funko Vinyls are being sold on ToysRUs .com now. They've got :muffin: Pony, Rainbow Dash, The Doctor, and Fluttershy. They don't seem to have the crystal variants but still, it is becoming increasingly less likely that these are Hot Topic Exclusive products anymore.

If I recall correctly I think Hot Topic's exclusivity is only for a short period of time - they get them first, and then after a few months everywhere else is able to stock them.

Yeah, the fact that they're STILL up has me concerned that it's going to end up being something like that. I really hope I'm able to get them this time, after all, I already had to pay considerably more since they cancelled my order last month. :huh: And they also obviously don't fulfill orders on a first come, first serve basis (Yes, I'm still ticked they cancelled my order last time, when I ordered way before other people who got theirs, grrrr...).
As far as the regular versions go, I've already seen all four of the currently released ones for sale in other physical stores besides Hot Topic. I saw them several weeks ago actually, so either the exclusivity is over for those figures, or the store made a mistake and put them out early. TRU has had them up on their site for pre-order for ages, also.

She is pretty cool looking,not a big fan of the glitter in her hair, but I love how her body looks. Easy to get out of the box and I will prolly put her back in because we might be moving but I had to take her out and let her breath..yeah I know how that sounds.. The box was very warm so I can imaging her trip was stifling. I hope they post pics soon of DJ Pon I'd like to see what she looks like and if she looks as good as bubbles I'm gonna get her.

I got mine on Saturday with Prime shipping. :D I only ordered Rainbow Dash at first, then about 15 minutes later order Bubblebutt. They both came in the same box, so that was nice! :D
However, my Bubblebutt has some oddities... Did anybody else have a stocking sticker on the top of the box? And her SDCC sticker isn't in the lower right corner. It's in the upper right and it's upside down. XD Just wondering if anybody else encountered that. I can take pictures when I get home if anybody needs them. RD was perfectly fine though.

I just got :muffin: Pony in, and boy am I happy. I get to pick her up from my mom's house tomorrow....I'm so glad I was able to get her. She is my absolute favorite pony, and I try to get all of the merchandise of her that I can...so I knew I had to have her glitter variant. If it's the only one I get, I'll be happy regardless.

I'm sure everyone who ordered them will get theirs- the last time, orders were cancelled because they shouldn't have been placed in the first place (I'm sure Funko was not happy).

Oh wow. I just got my Bubbles this morning. :shocked: I thought it must have come from somewhere really close, but nope: Kentucky. (How is it my Catwoman came from Massachusetts (SO CLOSE) and took four days, but the Bubbles from Kentucky took one?!) So, um. I have a question. Is her glitter supposed to be pink? Cause... it kind of is. Um. Not sure how to feel about that, it looks kind of... off.
So far all of the chase figures have pink glitter inside. I have dr. Hooves, Fluttershy, rainbow dash and bubble and they are all like that.
Weird! Thanks for confirming, though.

Well don't know if this has been post or not but there is a seller selling a clear glitter bubble butt for $49 on amazon. Dont know if anyone would want to pay that but Id though I would mention it. Now I am even happier that I bought her when I did.

I am surprised that they seem to be sold out everywhere all at once! (Gemini is sold out too) but I'm sure someone can find them for less than $49- they were available up until yesterday for $20 after all.

Lol- my wife now works from home - so I have had to be much more careful about what comes to the house. On the other hand, people now think that I'm crazy at work- so I try to split shipments equally to minimize drama and/or judgment...

Got my Dizzy today! She has a couple of black marks on her mane and tail and is missing the eyelashes on her non-display side but is otherwise perfect! Box is a bit scratch-dented on the back but hopefully none of these will affect her value much. She was only shipped on the 19th and got to the UK super fast so I am very impressed with Amazon US's international postage :D

I am glad I ordered from Amazon when did then based on what I am reading here. The RD I ordered turned up yesterday. She's pretty. Now I can sell off my original one since I don't need both versions.

Got my Bubblebutt! I was really confused because she came in a box with a jazz album (turned out to be my dad's.)
I haven't unboxed either Dash or Bubblebutt and I'm trying to figure out if I should.

The awesome thing about these Funko ponies is that they come out of their packaging very easily for display. You don't need to break anything to get them out, and they're easy to put back in as well! :) I never feel bad about deboxing these toys.
My Bubblebutt and Rainbow Dash came in yesterday. They look really neat! This is the first time I've seen the "corrected" cutie mark close up on Bublebutt, too.
I know the stickers have the 10008 quantity thing on them, but these really do seem like they were a limited time item instead of a limited run item! They ran out just as Comic Con was ending, didn't they?
Maybe we can do a worldwide sparkly Funko pony sound-off and figure out how many there really are out there. :P

Oh I'm sure the run was 1008. That's what they would have ordered from the factory- in the doll community, a run of 300 is considered on the small side, while a run of 1200 is considered huge.
Considering the size of the run, I guess it's not surprising it took a couple of days to sell out. I don't think many got through during the accidental release.

My extra Rainbow Dash has a wicked scuff up her display side leg. I'm going to return her to Amazon within the next day or two, unless someone wants her. Will post a pic on my sales page.

I don't think I posted this yet- Ditzy is in for me as of a couple days ago. The front of her plastic is a bit deflated but undamaged. Hopefully no paint/glue problems; I didn't really get to look at her.

My Bubblemuffin came from Gemini today and she's perfect! I was paranoid I'd get a messed-up one. She's airing out on my desk to get rid of that weird smell the Funkos have. xD
