Darn UPS didn't ring my doorbell & left my boxed Skelita in the front bush for anyone to nab. Luckily I found it before anyone else did. :lookround:Thank goodness! We deal with that all the time out here (all shipping services...), so when we know something is on a truck we have to open our bathroom window, keep the blinds open and in cases of USPS, go outside and wait 10-15 minutes when we see the mail person across the street...

That's not what I was picturing in my mind. I thought it would be more of a stylized painted tattoo, bright and colorful, not printed into her skin. Weird :huh:That's what I was expecting too. >,<; like done in black ink with a paint brush or something with small decorations.

Am I the only one that has the feeling Ghoulia isn't getting much attention in the Deluxe lines?? I swear her last several releases were all basic/economical/slim boxed releases. I can't remember the last big box release she had.
I'm not sure if they are still HTF or not but I was at target today and they had two of the Howleen/Clawdeen twin packs. My husband said I couldn't get them though because of having no money (I suppose that was reasonable - though I have been looking for that Howleen for ages).There's a Link in my Siggy that can help you locate them in your nearest Target Eevee if you ever get the opportunity to save enough money for them. I don't know if it still works, but it should.
Anyway... like I said, I'm not really up with what is and isn't easy to get, but they were there. So maybe their back in shops again.

Welcome to the club! That's what we ALL say :P I said I would never get into MH, then I said only the ones I really like, then only one of each, now I have 15 dolls with 2 CAMs 2 of which are Lagoona and 2 are Draculaura.

I've only dealt with customer service once but I filled out the form for them to respond via email. I basically just wanted another robecca head because hers had holes in her cheeks.....;( but they emailed back fast and just sent me another Ro! Not sure about cam sets but you clearly have a factory packaged issue. Good luck :)
They could send you another set, give you a voucher or want you to return it but just go for it :) I'm sure others could elaborate on the other processes.

Does anybody have any tips on making ear piercings on MH dolls? I like to swap around outfits and accessories but then there are releases like dead tired that don't have piercings... I tried just using a needle but it was really hard to get a hole big enough for the earring peg to fit into, haha :')My boyfriend has a drimmel set with like 9,000,000 different attachments. Some of them are so tiny that that's what I've considered using for mine. Kinda bugs me that Operetta only has one ear pierced.

I never noticed blackness and I was doing it all the time. The vinyl heads are soft. I guess wipe off the needle after each time. It cools down quickly.

I was surprised because they never seem to get anything new until all the old stock is sold out and my Meijer's is notorious for having the same old dolls in stock for months. We still have loads of first issue Sweet 1600 and a bunch of SS Lala and Ghoulia.
Checked my WalMart and as usual they have nothing new- dress up clothes, Lab CAMs, DDG three pack, Deuce fashion packs- which needs to go on clearance because it's obvious no one wants them. I think my WalMart never gets new fashion pack because they have a crap ton of the Deuce ones.

Both Walmarts near me have tons of DDG Lagoona. Neither of them have had Spectra or Operetta for a few months now. So either Lagoona is in a case by herself, or everyone is just buying all of the other two and leaving Lagoona there.

So, I ordered the deluxe Robecca fashion on Amazon. I noticed in the photo of the outfit that it looked like there was only one earring in the package. My fashion arrived today, and lo and behold, it only has one earring. It doesn't really look like there is one missing, but more like they only packed one. Soooo... on TRU's website they have Skelita Calaveras, but not available online. However, when I was buying my werecat twins, it gave me the option of adding her to the cart. And with BOGO 50% off. Not sure they'll fulfil my order, but you could try adding monster high dolls to your cart and seeing if they ask if you want her too, then deleting the other dolls.
I just went to Meijers and they had a huge selection of fashion outfits.
I swear when I went it Sunday night the dance dolls were on sale. So I took her back today and told the lady that I was overcharged. She took my word for it and gave me an additional 5.00 back + the difference in the sale price. So I got my doll for 6.00.

I grabbed the nicer looking Rochelle, but I was kind of disappointed they didn't have Clawdeen, especially since I figured she'd be the one I'd have no issues grabbing since Clawdeen in general seems to be a shelf warmer (along with Draculaura) but I'm sure I'll find her eventually. I'm at Walmart all the time anyway.
Besides Clawdeen, I'm still looking for Deuce. If my area doesn't get him soon, I may just have someone pick him up for me. What stores have the Basic Scaris dolls shown up in so far, anyway? Has anyone found the basic ones at Walmart or Target yet? What about Big Lots? I'm trying to figure out where I need to hunt for him.

Wow, I went to Walmart and all the basic Scaris were gone. They only had a Jinafire. Odd to have just her left.

My girlfriend and I snagged Scaris Skelita and Jinafire at Target today. We were so excited to find them! They were the only ones on the shelf...surrounded by a bunch of old frankies.The store probably found where someone tried to hide them. Am pretty sure that's how I got my Gil from Walmart.

Went to fiddle with my Jinafire while my fiance had the light on, and noticed the strap on one of her shoes bent in weirdly (like kinda warped and if it were on a real shoe it would have been cutting into her ankle) so I pulled it off to look at it. Nothing could be done, right now, to fix it so I went to put them back on. When seeing which shoe belonged to which foot I see that they are both right shoes :|. So I contacted Mattel to see what'll happen.... sadly I'm sure this will just end up being a "Oh we'll be more careful" because I am NOT sending this doll back for a crappy voucher :<.
I have actually gotten quite a few replacements, so I am expecting them to want her back. Especially since the last time my fiance and I had an issue we used the chat feature and they wanted the doll back and we just decided against it (between it being a doll my fiance didn't really want, the same issue probably going to happen, not being able to print out the label and not being able to get to the post office).Ugh, I could scream.

Actually, the first few times I complained about defects, I was sent a replacement doll at no charge without sending mine back. So if you haven't done several complaints before, you should be fine. I've had more luck with emailing them, than with using the chat function. The ones on chat tend to ask tons of questions where the ones in email will usually just send out a replacement and apologize for the problems.

The Ghouls Night Out looks real nice, but the stand out line for me next year will be 13 Wishes.

Maddy is getting me a doll for christmas, but other than her, no one buys my christmas gifts anymore. My husband and I opted out of Christmas several years ago when money started getting tight. This is the first christmas that I have had spare money to get anyone anything, so I just decided to do the secret santa thing on Google+. It's worked out really well, but no dolls from it. I got myself a Toralei though, and I hope she will arrive safely!

My husband and I are terrible with Christmas.. and birthdays. My husband never knows what to buy me and he only buys one thing so I let him buy it on his own. There's no surprises here anymore :lol: he would like to surprise me sometime but he knows that I want dolls and doll stuff more then anything else really sooo he just gives me money and says have fun! I tend to buy my own dolls, it would be to hard for fam and friends to keep up with my want list and my city doesn't have the doll on my list on the shelves so there is no point of asking for something that's not there.

I almost bought both of them, but since I don't actually want one, I figured that buying two and selling/trading both on here might put me into the scalper category? I don't think I'll put him up until after the holidays though, since I will be leaving town on Sunday.Goodness no! That's being awesome person helping out those in need.

Omg this makes me want them even more! I was really jiffy on Lagoonas but now I know I love it. That one and Abbey's is my favorite. Based on the first pix I thought Abbey's and Spectra's would be. I just bought Abbey's and Draculaura's on Amazon since I have Jude's of those. I really want the other basics and possibly Robecca's; Frankie's and Operetta's.

CAM sets have also reportedly finally been seen here (it only took them a year!!!)
Target has stocked some Frankie Mirror Beds and Draculaura Coffin Beds, $35. If you are missing one from your collection I would grab it as they only appear very sporadically in Toy World stores from what I have heard.
My Walmarts have marked the Ghouls Alive line down a little bit, I think. I'd never seen them before, though! Are they relatively new or have I been just blind to them? :P

Ugh! Don't remind me! After Christmas last year was a dark, dark time for MH collectors :( I haven't been shopping in SO long, when I finally get back into the swing of things, those shelves better be full-ish. I might crawl up in a ball, and start sobbing right there in the store if the shelves look ANYTHING like last year!
I don't think I would ever cry in a store (unless I had something really painful happen??) but I've definitely been noticeably sad in an aisle. >___<

I even tried to apply without then mechanism and just apply one at a time and it came out worse. I think I'm just going to find a sealant and then paint my own face.
This is not what I had in mind when I made the suggestion to Mattel. I'm sure the application is off center due to the fact that instead of coming straight down onto the face it comes in at an angle - that angle probably makes all the difference. I'll have to play more to figure it out, I just got frustrated with it last night.
I wonder how many Build-A-Monster kits we'll see at the thrift store after the holidays with tons of junked-up dolls... if collectors are having a hard time aligning things, I can't imagine how kids are handling them. :(

I got like this shortly after I started collecting. It felt like everyone was finding Robecca and Venus, but there weren't any around here! I was so frustrated, I was driving all over town and calling tons of different stores to no avail at all. I actually called one Walmart who said they had Venus, drove 30 minutes out to get her and was told they never had her to begin with. It was maddening!
Now I just say, "Today, I'll check at Target. If there's nothing there, I'll just live with getting nothing." I don't actively look for them much anymore. I'll look if I'm out and can afford to grab one, but otherwise I'll just refuse to think about it. The one thing about having so many different collections is that when one gets to be too intense, I can just take a time-out and focus on a different one for a while.
Just take a short break. If you find one while you're out, awesome. If not, just let it go. Like you said, they're just dolls. They're not going anywhere, so just relax. If it's not fun, it's not worth it!

Well, I came to my senses shortly after, and realized I just needed to take a more laid back approach. *Most* of the dolls will hit your area and be pretty easy to get, in time. You just have to be very patient.
Oh, and I miss my dolls I sold very much, and regret selling them, but I'm happy they went to loving homes with people here on the arena, and it makes me not feel as bad for being so silly about it. :blush:

So here in Colorado the MH stock is ... well, non-existent.Where in Denver are you? The south side seems slow on restocking, but I certainly don't think it'll be phased out... I think they're actually just very popular here.
Our first stop was at Super Target. Whole lot of nothin', except a couple Skull Shores 5-packs. After that it was Toys R Us, with one budget Scaris Ghoulia, some Ghouls Alive!, some high school playsets and a couple DDG Lagoonas. Then it was Walmart, the biggest shock of them all. The MH shelves were completely void of a single doll. All they had were wigs, skirts and nail polish sets. The Monster High sign has been down since October and now it's starting to look like the section might be overtaken by Cutie Pops and Novi Stars. We then dropped by the smaller Target on the way home and their MH section had one Skull Shores 5-pack left and a few CAM sets. The pegs above the boxes were all Novi Stars and everything had been clearanced out except the SS 5-pack.
So between Walmart and the smaller Target it looks like MH is being phased out of these stores completely. Is anyone else seeing this? WTF is going on?
I was so disappointed seeing it after hearing how so many of you are seeing fully stocked shelves at your local stores. Don't know what's going on around here, but the Denver Metro area isn't re-stocking its MH and considering how overrun the sections look I am very concerned about the future of my MH collecting.
Had another hunt for the week as most retailers on here seem to stock on Thursdays. My dinky local Kmart had slimbox Scaris where all the other larger ones didn't!! Looked like only one case had been put out and that someone beat me to it, only Abbey and Draculaura were there (the two I don't want).... must be a collector around near me :PIs your local Kmart Westfield plenty valley? I managed to pick up the set the other day and left only draculaura and Abby! Sorry

While I absolutely hate Ghoulia. I would say Scaris Ghoulia is my favorite Ghoulia and may end up getting her one day, but I'm not in a hurry to get her.
I wonder, do you guys think there is an interest here or on other sites for adopting ready made characters for like 10USD or something like that.
I have some Original MH characters that I think turned out pretty good, but that I have no use of myself. So I wonder if maybe people would be interested in buying them.

Oh gosh I am so jealous of those shelves! Right now I have to pack my dolls and ponies away because there's no room to really display them yet. Soon though, I will have a home office and lots of room for my dolls!
I think they're the Billy shelves and I think they go for about $50-75sh from the top of my head.

I LOVE the Mummy! Her details are fabulous. But the wig that came for her is just nasty, so shes going bald for the time being. I love Egyptian ANYTHING, so she flew to the top of my favorites pretty quick.

I am so envious of collection rooms! My apartment is so tiny and crampped! I had to clean out the book shelves and donate a lot of books just two clear two shelves.
And I ADORE the idea of decorating one shelf like it is a room! That is just too neat!! Wallpaper and decorations.. So cool!
Some day I hope to convince my husband to upgrade to a two bedroom now that we have some debt paid down. But he wants to wait a few years. That is just too long! I want my extra room now! I need it for crafts and hobbies and such.
I'd love to just be there and look at each shelf and see how all your dolls are set up...

I saw a buncha Picture Days at Target, at least two cases. They also had a whole shelf of the Scary Tales but they were all Frankies! At least 20 of just Scary Tale Frankie. I think with a little more time I will find the new CAM and fashions, but probably next year.
If it helps at all in my experience there is never enough room. We have a two bedroom place, but the other room also has our guest bed. We are rearranging to dedicate a corner to my sewing, but it is also my office room and wife's study space. It seems no matter what room we have something ha to fill it. My old bedroom in my parents house is dedicated to my model horses, dunno if I will ever have a full room for something though. That is impressive though.

I just moved in November, and my new place had an extra so I finally got my Collection room. So for Christmas my parent bought me shelves. I just finished setting up my Monster High Room and I love it!!! :biggrin:

A new Roller Maze assortment with Clawdeen and Abbey is up for preorder on Entertainment Earth, with an estimated DOA of January 2013.

I'm not sure if this is the definitive assortment for this line now, or if they'll be altering the numbers/characters per case like they sometimes do, but it looks like they may have taken Ghoulia out. No kidding? I'll have to check the one in Biddeford then. Maybe I'll get lucky, but I've noticed it's uncommon when two of the same store in the same state have the same new stock. The Wal-Mart in Sanford has been my go-to for collectibles as the one in Biddeford seems to rarely restock with anything worthwhile. Fingers crossed...
And from the looks of it, the Mummy/Gorgon pack will be the one I go for. Really like the look of that Gorgon. I originally thought I'd be all over the Ice/Blob pack, but there seems to be far too many joints showing through the translucency. Maybe if I see some more pictures and it doesn't look that bad, or hopefully I can spot in stock somewhere so I can judge myself.

I need a moment to pout to you all:( For Christmas, I asked for a couple new lines of dolls (Bratzilliaz, and Novi Stars, among others) so most of my presents were not MH. That means I have a whole bunch of catching up to do. Yes, but just her lower legs. :) There's a little instruction sheet in the box that's usually included to inform the purchaser of what parts are removable on the doll, and hers is unique in that it shows the legs disconnecting at the knees.

Absolutely! I actually just got her yesterday. I had seen her before, but never had cash whenever she popped up. She's a gorgeous doll and her pet is cute, too. You'll love her. She's such a beautiful girl.

Not from Mattel, but you can always check the Arena to see if anyone is selling the set. eBay is a good place to look, too.

Curiosity killed the Yuru in the case of MH. I kept seeing the ANTM threads every darn time I refreshed the Arena and I finally wanted to know what was going on in there. I checked out the photos and I was quickly awestruck, but I was happy with spectating. Shortly after, I watched poor Pinkamena's descent into dolly madness. Seeing a fellow dolly-hater succumb greatly weakened my resolve. I continued to watch ANTM pan out and next thing I knew ... Rochelle Goyle. And then Chi's enabling. And next thing I knew I had Rochelle, Operetta and Nefera in the mail on their way to me. That was in August of this year. I'm at 22 dolls now. It'd be way more if any of the stores around here ever had new stock.
I'm thinking of a few floating shelves above my dresser but considering my fish tank size will be going from 15 to around 50 gallons soon, I don't know what my options are. I'm also getting a bigger bed in my room for my partner and I and we're expanding the closet size so I don't want to over cram the room. Just this past Boxing Day, though, I went to The Warehouse and got some mini bookshelves that were buy one get one free. At some point I'm going to set them up and use them for my collection - both dolls and accessories (my parents were just here for two weeks, so I now finally have Lagoona's hydration station, Lala's powder room and the school accessories I ordered from Mattel).
That being said, I don't think I'm going to be increasing the size of my collection any more in the near future. I may be a doll or two in the coming year, but I intend to only replace existing dolls. I'll probably skip most of the accessories too, although I *may* get Frankie's vanity if it ever shows up here.

I wanted to sell/trade some of my stands on here (actually got a PM a while back) but I realized all the stands in the box are the ones that are supposed to be on the dolls and the ones on the dolls (plain black ones)are meant to be in the box to sell.
I don't even want to deal with that mess until the holidays are over.

According to Target's website, my local store had Skelita and Jinafire in stock today.
Except for the part where they didn't, actually. :( They had Robecca, Draculaura, and Spectra, but no Scaris whatsoever.
My frustration has finally come to an end....I found Jinafire AND Skelita!! both were in my arms in a heartbeat!! I am now finally happy!......Until I got home.....A Biiiiiig Eff bomb had been dropped, and my frustration has flared up again!!!

Where did the CAM's show up at? I've been all OVER the place today, and the only place I had luck was at the Rochester Target. I found 2 of the Sister packs! I had a moment of "I don't need these, I already have one of each..." But knowing me, I'd regret not grabbing them when I saw them. So I went for it...
Also, how do you guys remove the plastic strings in the dolls heads? I have a cool tool I use for that, but considering my Skelita doesn't have the back of those. I can't use my tool! Any tips? :lol:
I use nail clippers and just clip as close to the scalp as possible.

My little niece broke the clear blue stand that came with Home Ick Frankie.
It's that little clasp that holds her, it's broken on one side. Do you think I can save it?
Tiffoes- my clear blue clasp snapped too. I used superglue to clue the pieces back together and it hasn't fallen apart again yet :)
My exact same stand broke in the exact same place. It seems the transparent ones are more fragile than the others. I guess you could use glue but I don't think it would last. I threw mine away. :(

I want to throw a fit too! I was waiting to gather my Christmas money together from all our different Christmas's and get DT Clawdeen with her bunk bed from TRU's website (they had her for awhile again). I had it in my cart for 2 days and the day I finally was able to order it, it was gone :( Now I doubt I will get a chance at it again!
I also agree that we need more stands. I think it is a poor way for Mattel to try to save money. Sure their Barbie's don't come with them, but they haven't come with stands since the first ones (and maybe not even then?). I think it's crappy that they have started not including them. Who needs a brush? Those are easy to come by if you don't have a doll one. Stands, not so much.
I can't wait to start seeing the new items on shelves. The stores around here are BARE! Walmart has been since before Christmas. Target got some PD dolls in and that is it. Kmart did get some new things in but were wiped out right away. I want to see more dolls!

I might be alone on this one, but I think the "power-ghouls" look incredibly cheesy and overdone. :huh: I'd love to have a Toralei, but not one that looks like she's stuck in a bad halloween costume!
All the Power Ghouls are just horrendous. Bleah! This is the first line that I dislike as a whole. Usually I find one doll in a line that I like, but all of these are just super ugly.That's your opinion but we at least like Toralei. In regards to the Picture Day dolls, does anyone know if the wave 1 dolls are going to be retired! Because that was a super short production period, and I don't have any of them yet!

Looks like they kept changing Wonder Wolf's hair. IIRC, the original promo shot showed her with just brown hair, then the promo in box shot showed her with a bit of a green streak, and now this actual in box shot shows her with quite a lot of green plus a curled fringe.

I called my Target and they said they had the dolls so I went in since I'm only a 5 minute drive from there. When I got to the MH aisle, I was really excited to see them because I like seeing new dolls on shelves until a scalper pushed me out of the way and grabbed them. Perfect timing, right? :mad: There was only one case from what I could tell. There were 3 Spectras and 3 Clawdeens. The shelf was a mess so I was doing some digging before the scalper came along. Looks like Frankie and Toralei will either be in their own case or will be put in that case later on.

Twyla is the size of Howleen and Gigi looks tall like Nefera but hard to say from a picture. Feel free to ask any questions about them. I have seen them so they are real.
Then they have a Cleo with Beach set and Spectra with a vanity type thing that closes. Maybe what the inside of the genie bottle looks like?
Then there is a Draculaura vanity.

Twyla is the size of Howleen with pastel green hair with blue in it. Her face skin color is light blue but reminds me of the sea monster. Her body color is white and she has grey hands. She has some designs on her lower that is grey legs. Cant tell is socks or actually on her legs. She is wearing a blue black and purple dress and shoes look blue sneaker heels with white laces. The bottom of the shoes are black. She comes with a bunny that looks pastel purple with one button eye. Missing left eye. She has a pastel green bracelet that matches her hair and a blue purse with the pastel green on it.
Gigi Genie has a tall pink pony tail sticking up. Looks to be some yellow in it as well. It has three rubber bands to hold it up. She is wearing pink genie shoes that are heels with gold straps. Her top is Blue and pink with pants that start at the below her boobs and go to her knees. They are black genie look with gold designs in it. (Sorry hard to describe that.) She has a gold braclet on each arm and holding a genie lamp purse It looks a bit differen then a normal lamp. Her pet is purple and looks like a puff of smoke. Not sure what it is. lol
They need to release more boy dolls, though! Come on Mattel! Bring on the boys!!

I agree with some of your points, puku. The two Lagoonas are really freaky! 13 Wishes Lagoona looks like she has had a REALLY bad dye job!! It's just... YELLOW!And her face is dark blue.

It looks like there are at least two different releases for this set. Some dolls [Lagoona, Gigi, Twyla, Howleen] come with pets and a diary. Others [Clawdeen, Frankie, Lala] come with some kind of lamp thingie. I'm not good with Arabian culture, so I really don't know what it is.As much as I like Howleen, I have to admit that her outfit doesn't really go with the others' outfits. She looks more like a Picture Day doll rather than a 13 Wishes doll.

I'm not a huge Howleen fan. Probably because she was super hyped up when I first got in, and I just never fell in love with her. I like the signature release, but all these with pink hair just aren't doing it for me... that and she can't sit without her stupid shorts busting open in the back.....I'm loving this Howleen, although it may be more her outfit than anything else. And that being said, her outfit really doesn't seem to belong in the 13 Wishes line. The others are all wearing fancy Arabian-themed party dresses, but she's still got her colorful eclectic punk theme going on.

I was quoting from a facebook page, but let me give my own opinion now. Based on measurements of a MH brush, I think Gigi is actually normal-ghoul sized. Gigi is the same pinkish color as Draculaura. She is wearing a blue and pink top and then high-waisted black pants with gold embellishments. She looks like a normal girl in oriental attire >_< But I think she will grow on me.

Cleo and Nef might not exactly live up to other ghouls in terms of monster...ness, but at least they look Egyptian.
That Gigi Genie sounds like the folks at Mattel tried to white-wash her. I don't want to start any debates about race, but I love the diversity in MH and making an oriental character look kinda white-ish is just really lame.
They could have at least gone for a completely different color like yellow. We don't have any yellow characters yet (apart from the Bee Girl) and it would go great with pink and sort of reflect the Arabian theme (sand).
Kinda makes me think of I Dream Of Genie, which had an adorable but white as chalk "genie" - and she also had pink clothes ;)

I love this idea so much. Making her more sand colored and with transparent lower limbs. I think you have to be careful with "yellow" as that might cause a different kind of PC issue.
Okay, now we just need a customizer better than me to take an Abbey, recolor her, give her Spectra or just Ghost CAM legs and *poof* our Dream Jeanie.... Sorry... I had to go there

There was a notice put out through Mattycollector's Twitter feed last July saying that Mattycollector subscription holders are going to be offered any exclusives left over from the con first this year, through their "Early Access" perk, so it's likely that the MH exclusive is going to be more difficult to purchase through their website this year. :huh:

The only subscriptions they offer right now is for Masters of The Universe, DC Universe, and Watchmen, though subscribers are going to get first crack at non-related con exclusives, which is bogus. When it was first brought up, one of the fears discussed is that there will be a temptation for those with a subscription to buy up and resell the more sought-after items to fund their own collections (and the price of the subscription itself, which is expensive).
I've never had luck with Mattycollector anyway, but for those relying on snagging one through their website for a good deal, keep in mind that there may be even more obstacles in attempting to do so this year. I came close to getting through last year and even had all of my information preloaded into my account and I still wasn't able to finish checkout before they sold out because of the high traffic.
I'm hoping it ends up being a variant on a character we already have, so I can just skip it this year if I have to. If it's something unique like The Daughter of Arachne/Widowna Spider or Heath Burns, I'm going to be pissed. -_-

At first I thought she was really weird, BUT After looking at her picture over and over for many times, she grew on me. I want her to be real!Same. She is by far the most monstrous of all the ghouls so far.
I don't care if she's the exclusive or not. If the exclusive is a new character, I WILL have them. When the con is over, I'll pay $80 for her on eBay, just like I did with Scarah, and then, everybody will go "OMG HOW COULD YOU PAY A SCALPER" because they want to waste their time with the slow servers of Matty Collector and then, months later, when the exclusive is selling for $200 on eBay, everyone will be like "WOW YOU GOT YOURS FOR ONLY $80?! LUCKY"

As much as I love that Howleen, I am really failing to see how she fits in with the 13 Wishes theme. She looks like she belongs with the Picture Day or Ghouls Night Out dolls. I guess maybe she doesn't get into the spirit of the thing by donning an arabesque outfit. ;)

I did this with Draculaura's Coffin bed. In September this year I found one at TRU for $20 when we were on vacation. I didn't get it because I was new to MH collecting and I wanted to focus on the dolls. I also didn't think it would be that hard or expensive to get a hold of :argh: WRONG! Still kicking myself.

They had so many of him to go through that it took them forever to get in another shipment of dolls.

That makes me really sad, actually. I only started collecting a few months ago, and I am DIEING to get my hands on a Holt. I love him, but I don't think I can justify spending $100+ on a single doll. Just....(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

I never thought he'd be as sought-after as he is now, but then again, Mattel was really dragging their feet on properly introducing him to the fans at the time. By the time he became a regular in the franchise, his dolls began to slowly disappear.
Then there's the hundreds of Cleo and Deuce 2-packs I ran into in 2010-2011. This set was repeatedly put on clearance at all the stores around me, they just seemed like they would never go away. Now people are jumping at the chance to buy these two and I had so many chances to grab extras if I had wanted to. >_< I just never thought they'd vanish as abruptly as they did.
There would be times where I'd hit up Target, TRU, Walmart, and Burlington Coat Factory in the same day (they're all on the same stretch of road for me) and Holt and the Cleo and Deuce set were all I would see consistently in my travels for months, while all of the other dolls were being cherry-picked away. It would get to the point that my boyfriend would make bets on "that snake guy and his girlfriend" or "the blue guy with flame hair" being the only dolls left when I'd take him doll-hunting with me. :lol:

I wouldn't get too excited about the cameos in the comics. They could be like the ones in the Scary Tales line, where they had other characters come in and had awesome costumes and big parts and no dolls were made of those either.
As far as who will be sought after in the future I'm really thinking it will be Catrine. I have a feeling that when she is released she won't be sticking around long.

I found mine today at TRU. They were $11.99. When I got home to take them off my Amazon wishlist, I noticed Amazon wants $12.99 for (some of) them. That being said, I'll pay any amount to have her. I saw plenty of Power Ghouls and Scaris today at Target. I managed to snag Lagoona's Swim Uniform on Amazon for $13.99. That's the cheapest I'll ever get it. I won't get it 'til the beginning of February because it's shipping with Hyrule Historia and I can't have them shipped separately if I want the free shipping since they're both under $25. Oh well. You may not have to wait that long if they are in different fulfillment warehouses. We ordered a couple things with the free shipping all together and my 2 MH items arrived a few days before my husbands DVD so maybe you will get lucky and they will ship it early!

I was thrifting yesterday and didn't find any dolls or ponies, but for 5 bucks I found the Bratz World House, which immediately shoved into my cart! It needs work (to make it more MH'ish) but with some work I will make it lovely. I was going to have my husband build me a wooden collapsible diorama, but this seemed a good alternative. I really like it, I just need to get some furniture and such.
My fear is that Wydowna will be the comic con exclusive this year. Sure, it'll be great to have her in doll form. But it's going to be such a pain to get an exclusive. That being said, I'll pay any amount to have her. I'll buy all the ebay scalpers out if I have to!
I am planning to wallpaper it with scrap book paper and build furniture if I can't find any inexpensive. Well, the revision will be out in March so there's still time.There's lots of places that haven't even gotten the first case yet. My Walmart hasn't seen hide nor hair of any Scaris stuff, so if my Walmart gets any basic Scaris I'll bet it'll be the revision.

Um, can I ask a question? How do you deal with owning lots of dolls without everything looking visually cluttered? I got a bunch of new girls and they are currently under my bed until I can rearrange because having some sitting in front of the standing ones felt too cluttered and made me feel antsy. Clutter makes me anxious...

That's how I feel too. On one hand, I'm going to be getting her no matter the cost if she finally sees the light of day, even if she is this year's SDCC exclusive and Mattycollector's new policies put her price through the roof with supply and demand. I don't think there's any MH character I've wanted more than DOA, she's just so unique and monstrous-looking. I love it!

My Mother and Grandmother Guilt trip me all the time about my collecting hobbies/addictions :blush: "Sunnie Do you Realize how much money you've spent on all these toys? You have thousands of Dollars spent in here"

I feel guilty when I think about people who don't have enough food or a roof over their heads and here I am, worried that I might not be able to find a doll I want. Why should I be blowing my money on toys when other people in the world are starving. :/
I'm 17 years old, and I sometimes have collectors guilt.They're not right sweetheart. Drinking cannot make you happy. A boyfriend does not guarantee happiness. True happiness comes from being comfortable with who you are. Don't let anyone give you grief about collecting dolls:). Tiff, many of us here are in our 30's (me included) and we're not embarrassed or ashamed about our MH/MLP love. You're family should be ecstatic that you are such a responsible young woman!
Mostly because I like to display my stuff and not play with them so often.
People never really seem to get it. The older people in my family seem to think I'm nuts for buying these toys (pony/MH) and the younger kids think it's awesome. However, most of them think I'm weird for not playing with them, whereas the older people would find me even stranger if they know I play with them.. ;_;''
They think I should go out more often, get drunk and find myself a ~handsome~ boyfriend.
Lucky for me, not everyone is like that and most learn to accept it after a while!

I feel guilty when I think about people who don't have enough food or a roof over their heads and here I am, worried that I might not be able to find a doll I want. Why should I be blowing my money on toys when other people in the world are starving. :/
I think that sometimes, but then we are fueling the economy. We are giving someone a job, actually several people when you think about stores, distribution, marketing, etc. I don't feel bad about my "spend" money.
My husband wasn't happy when they took up our dining room table, but when I bought a desk and organized them all for display, her couldn't really say anything. He's got his corner for his electronics and hobbies, and I have mine. Our bills are paid. I think life is too short not to have something you love. And I love plastic dolls with soft hair. [especially if they look like comic book heros]

True happiness comes from being comfortable with who you are.
Don't let anyone give you grief about collecting dolls:). Tiff, many of us here are in our 30's (me included) and we're not embarrassed or ashamed about our MH/MLP love. You're family should be ecstatic that you are such a responsible young woman!

ok , so I am a little upset... the other day I posted about purchasing a lala vanity... for $13.49... I was excited to grab it for that price, but when I went to go look at dolls on walmart.com... it was on there for $10!! Ugh! I know its only a few dollars, but that could have gone towards another doll :( UGH!

Let me tell you this, girl, my ex-ex was a ~*handsome boyyy*~ of age 26 who had always been crazy for - get this - Disney Princess. His favorite princesses were Belle and Ariel and he wouldn't shut up about how much he adored them. For his birthday I gave him a Belle doll and he went nuts over it.
So go tell those people that being in a relationship won't change anything about certain fannish habits. Seriously, how rude to tell you to "go out more and get drunk".
When I was your age I wasn't interested in partying at all, I'm still not interested in alcohol (I drink when it tastes good, not to get wasted) and bada bing, bada boom, I still managed to get booty ;)
It's such a shame to assume just because some peoples' hobbies aren't exactly what the mainstream culture wishes for, they must have some sort of social problem.
In my opinion it's a waste of money and time to go binge-drinking and later on having troubles to find your own house again. I'd rather be at home with my doggie and friends and we talk about cute MH dolls, laugh and have an otherwise good time without loud music, yelling people and ill-fitting shoes.
Enjoy your dolls and ponies! You're 17, you'll have enough time for other things later on in life. Don't worry too much about people who think all others should be interested in their hobbies.
Just a few das ago at the toystore, a little girl with MH shirt tugged at my sleeve and asked me if my daughter was also into MH. When I told her that I was into it myself and didn't have any kids, she was baffled but also excited and happy to see that even "grown up girls" can like something she likes. That made me so happy. Especially since her mum seemed to hate the dolls (because they are monsters and little girls shouldn't play with monsters or some nonsense like that, haha).
It's hard sometimes, but just stay true to yourself. No shame, plz :)

I found a second hand Clawdeen a while back, apparently she had been sitting on the shelf for quite a while and had been marked down. Another local thrift store had a plush Lagoona so I picked her up.

It's funny that you mention that! Sometimes I see myself being super fickle. I love MLP and the "thrill of the chase," as it were, but lately I've been moving more towards Monster High. "What's going on with Monster High? What kinds of new dolls are coming up? The ones I want are really hard to find... CHALLENGE ACCEPTED." The last time I went to Walmart, I made a B-line for the Monster High section and didn't even bother looking at the ponies.
I don't know if MLP has had a lapse in products that are interesting to me or what, but Monster High seems to be a lot more intriguing at the moment (and they seem to take up a lot more room OH NO).
I'm sure that Ponies will get interesting again soon. Hopefully there will be a G4 Minty at some point, and I am super curious to see what Hasbro makes for SDCC this year! Ponies also have a huge nostalgia factor to them for me as well.

Basically they are dolls, but I think a bit like the CAMS as their arms and lower legs look a slightly different colour to their head and torso.
They have very simple dresses and plastic hair with ears poking up, looks like the hair is not removable.
The Werewolf is fushia with hot pink hair and ears.
The Sea Monster is bright blue (a bit like the 3 eyed CAM) with purple hair and blue fin ears stick up.
They have colour change features, hot/cold water.
They also come with stencils and pens for you to colour them in and also arm and leg decorations. Like fins for the Sea Monster and black things (?) for the Werewolf.
There is also a playset that comes with a pink humanoid looking doll with real hair that changes colour.
The playset is like Dr Frankensteins lab.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation swirling around about all these new releases. Someone on my one of my MH Facebook groups is adamant that the yellow-haired Lagoona and Howleen are part of the Color Me Creepy line, not 13 Wishes. They claim to have confirmation.
I find it unlikely.

Yes, that guy is certainly a bit on the odd side. I checked out his other vids and he always feels the need to compare Mattel and people he doesn't approve of to the Nazis, even made a Nazi Frankie custom to express his feelings towards Mattel.
Now, Mattel definitely deserves a lot of critique, but damn, man, please learn what Nazis were and what Neo-Nazism is all about. I'm a German, we learn a big deal about WWI and II throughout all grades of school - I should know about those things! :P
I'm happy that 'Goona and Spectra finally get some furniture as well, even though I don't collect it. I'm just always interested in the designs ^^

A survey popped up on a Japanese fashion website that included prototype (?) pictures of 2013 releases. However, since this stuff was somehow confidential, the people who've had seen the pics understandably didn't want to leak them.
Picklepud shared a few with people via PM and one of those people (?) passed them on to a guy who immediatly created a flickr album to leak the pics here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/monsterhighexpert/with/8344285624/#photo_8344285624).
The new characters are a genie named Gigi Genie and the daughter of the Boogieman, Twyla (who is the size of Howleen).
Other rumored 2013 releases:

-Ghoulia and Cleo two-pack (Mad Science)

Spectra's bed....
Her be is dpretty simple really.
Its got a black gate looking headboard/frame and a smaller one at the bottom of the bed. Im guessing to look like the gates in a cemetary or crypt.
Purple chains dangling down from the headboard and all around the bed.
But the beast a utterly awesome part is the legs of the bed a quite long, but transparent. So it looks like it is floating. Cool beans.
Also come with a purple chain bed for her pet and then some other small accessories.

I thought the Howleen was part of the "girls night out" line?Not according to the picture I've got, which displays the 13 Wishes logo quite prominently in the upper left corner (plus a bubble in the upper right corner showing the "basic line" lineup of Twyla, Lagoona, Gigi and Howleen).
hmm...it may well be 13 Wishes.....tho her outfit didnt seem to fit that theme....i guess we won't know till things are official :DI didn't think so at first either, until I found out more about it. Also, with the new info that the Lala, Frankie and Clawdeen in the fancy dresses are going to be part of a "Haunt the Casbah" sub-line, it makes more sense that the other 13 Wishes dolls aren't also decked out in fancy party dresses.

I have confirmed many pages back what line each doll is in.The trouble is there have been a number of rumors swirling around in the past few days, many of which are incorrect, and so naturally some people have gotten confused. Hopefully we'll start getting some info straight from Mattel soon and that'll help clear up some of the confusion.
I guess it was missed by some people.
Howleen falling in with a bad crowd, finding a magic lamp and making some not-so-great wishes (one of which may involve switching Lagoona from a seawater creature to a freshwater one, which may explain the drastic color changes).
Perhaps when the next thread gets made, the list picklepud so kindly put together gets tossed in the first post so people who missed out can have an easy point to catch up? I'm still not sure about Twyla and Gigi. Twyla is cute and all, but I don't see boogieman or anything monstery about her. It's a difficult monster to depict since it varies from culture to culture, but surely that means it was a good opportunity for them to go all out?
I personally would have gone for scary eyes, huge claws and fangs and gone for a hair colour that's less reminiscent of a mermaid. Maybe they could have explored the bed theme more and given her clothes that looked a bit like pyjamas too. Ooh, maybe even a kigurumi with big claws and horns attached to it.
She just looks too nice to me, so at the very least they could have given her more alternative clothes and a more interesting hair style. I'd love some MH dolls with shorter, more statement-like hair.
As for Gigi the only thing I find off putting really is the body colour. The pink hair and pink skin doesn't work for me. I think she'd look great with a darker, more exotic colour, maybe even something unnatural like purple.

they can wear the Liv wigs as well as size 5/6 (tho admittedly, they are usually a little loose)

I love that Wydona's skin is a bonafide black color but I just don't care for the rest of the doll. I'm still excited for her to come out as her multi-limbs are (or were, at the time... Mattel have come out with many new "daring" body styles since her original unveiling, though those were mostly CAM sets) very unique, but I won't be one of those vying for her.
