I swear this doll was adorable. The more I think about it, the more it seemed like a "save the earth" doll line. As Venus' box seemed quite easy to recycle with all that cardboard and all. It looked really different from what we're used! But the best part that it came with a semi-playset. The box was pretty big and had a lot of fun stufff for Venus. She was in a gardening outfit, but in her own style. It had something Polish written on top.
I was really bummed when I woke up that she didn't excist.

Should I just use the little plastic thing that's being used to put her hair in pigtails? I've never modified any of my dolls in any form outside of changing clothes. lol

So... I've been watching some of the other buy/sell MH forums lately and I cannot believe what some people try to pass off as a possible trades. BW Skull Shores Frankie for DotD Deuce? LULZ. The Siren and Harpy Cams for Gil? Yeah, no. I am very supportive of the fact that those of us within the community often sell/trade for less than Ebay value, but some of these suggestions are ridiculous even for newbies to the community (do some research first!). And while a seller/trader can accept whatever deal that they want, I haven't seen these two suggestions picked up! Anyone else have stories of rather silly deals you've been offered or seen around?

I've also noticed some, ah, *interesting* proposed trades on tumblr... generally the new (temporarily HTF) stuff for old (permanently HTF) stuff thing... which is just not quiiite equivalent! But yeah, if they get takers, okay, cool! If not... research XD But then, I think research is one of the most fun parts of collecting! (Am I weird? :redface:)
I've dreamed about dolls too, quite frequently really. I dreamed about finding signature Abbey very vividly a few times before I actually found her!
One reason I love the Dead Tired line is because their makeup is so much softer, particularly Frankie, Clawdeen, and Lagoona. Also, their hair is much more relaxed and natural looking. I'd love more DT!

Did just that with my Howleen, and it worked fine. You just have to pull out her earring and restyle her hair a little around her ears.

I'm a bit sad that I never got her when Dead Tired littered the shelves way back when but I had so many Frankies already at the time that I couldn't justify getting another one, even if she was a budget release. What a regret, as I still find her one of the most beautiful Frankies (second favorite after her Dawn of the Dance incarnation).

A friend of mine called my Scaris Rochelle "Smallpox Rochelle". :PThat... is not entirely inaccurate! Mine just looks like she has cute freckles... but she's probably the 20th Rochelle I've looked at.

I swear when I first got Venus, she was slowly making her way up to my top favorite maybe a little past Spectra and Lagoona, but damn! After making my OC Plant Monster design, now she's my #1 favorite Ghoul! She's gonna be my exception and I'm gonna aim to buy every release of Venus!! I gotta have every Venus and have a whole Orchard/Garden of Venuses and custom plant monsters!!

Agreeing very much with liking the softer make up of the DT line. It makes them look younger/sweeter. I like that look.
In other news, I had a pretty crappy day today and ripped open Polterghoul to make myself feel better. It worked... For about 5 minutes. Now, I'm wanting to open Wonder Wolf just because, but I'm still undecided on whether I will keep her. :blush:

I don't think there's 100% certainty yet that she will be released in doll-form, but since she makes in appearance in one of the Power Ghoul doll's mini-comics, there's speculation that it means Mattel will release her some day [soon].
I'm excited for the new stuff, like Gigi and Twila; but since I saw the promos for them from the survey, my initial flailing has subsided a bit. It's one of the downsides of a franchise that has such a fast-moving product release; one barely has time to process the excitement before something else rolls along to squee over.

I have been blessed with the MH Doll Goddess! I didn't come home with another Sig. Venus, but I did make it home with a perfect Jinafire, now I can take the one with the lip smear and take her back and get my money back (or possibly exchange her if I find a Sig. Venus. :P)Congrats on finding a better Jinafire! I know how difficult it is to open up the box and be disappointed, like I was with PD Spectra's awful choppy hair (although I'm making the best of it and I've trimmed off the worst clumps).

Skelita is available here (I've seen her in Walmart and Superstore). I have not seen reports of Jinafire showing up yet though.
And Signature Spectra has not been in Canadian stores for AGES. She never got a rerelease here unfortunately... :( The PD version should hopefully be out here soon though.

I actually like the swimsuit Venus (her fang-sunnies are pretty cool) enough so I wouldn't be too upset if I had to settle for her instead of sig Venus... but I like sig Robecca way better than Dance Class Robecca (and her fashion pack!) so hopefully I can get her before she's gone.

You bet they're a lot cheaper than the earlier ones! XD And don't get me started on that last set with MC Wolf and Kung Fu Lagoona, or Simply Operetta. :P I liked Lagoona's but not at that price. Abbey's was also pretty cool, but Operetta's was too "simple" and Clawdeen's, I don't even wanna think about those or have the though or image of them popping into my head. >,<;

They are a bit simpler, but the price is lower than on the last few waves of fashion packs. And there's something nice about being able to add other pieces to them, like LuvlyMelody mentioned. Personally, I like them a bit better than some of the earlier single-outfit packs; especially compared to the last wave of singles. Lagoona's yoga outfit was a travesty, and we won't talk about poor Clawdeen's hammer pants and "drunk cougar" jacket. There's taking risks with fashion, and then there's running towards a moving train :P
I love Clawdeen's hammer pants and her yellow jacket too. Kung foo Lagoona is a tough sell however. I'm going to swing by Target *again* this morning to see if they received Powerghouls stock. I know they're arriving soon because they cleared shelf space and put out their price sticker. Wish me luck!
I must be in the minority because I liked the most recent wave of single fashions the best. I love that they are simplistic and more realistic. I did not like the last wave at all. Mine was too, I grabbed Polterghoul and the two coloring ponies, they were working on ponies, so I didn't get in the way, lol. I left Wonder Wolf behind. I know that from this moment, I will never see her again, and she will become the doll I want the most solely because I left her there.

PandaBerryInSpace: To be honest, I get that feeling with ponies. I have decided that the only ponies I'm going to collect from now on are customs from swaps. Besides that, I have very little interest in Hasbro ponies that aren't custom baits.
A gardening Venus does sound good!
I swear this doll was adorable. The more I think about it, the more it seemed like a "save the earth" doll line. As Venus' box seemed quite easy to recycle with all that cardboard and all. It looked really different from what we're used! But the best part that it came with a semi-playset. The box was pretty big and had a lot of fun stufff for Venus. She was in a gardening outfit, but in her own style. It had something Polish written on top.
I was really bummed when I woke up that she didn't excist.

Same here. But there's nothing more disappointing than opening up a box that I've kept unopened for a month or two and then discovering some nasty flaw that wasn't apparent while in the box like a bum joint that won't hold poses or a neck that's permanently in the "looking up" position.

Well I passed by my MH isle today when I was at work we have Ghouls Alive, PD, lots of scooters, bathtubs and 3 pack plus there was some other stuff mixed in. I like the GA outfits, but not the dolls.

Yeah, they really do release a lot of dolls.. -_- I'm just glad that I'm FAR from being a completionist. The PowerGhouls, Catherine and the new Sig Characters from 13 Wishes will most likely be the only dolls that I *MUST* have this year. And DOA, in case she'll be released. But to budget this out I have completely stopped buying ponies, even pondering selling some G4/G3 since my love is exclusively G1 I guess.. XDI'm to scared to attempting a head removal on her again. >,< Maybe when I buy an intentional test doll maybe. :P
My 3rd/4th collection is Kaiju and some designer toys every once in a while. But Kaiju I only buy 'cheap' when I'm in Japan and designer toys just here and there so I mostly don't count those *is cheating*. xD

I'm just glad I'm not aiming for completion as far as MH goes. I'm only after those I like and can realistically get my hands on. (Holt, one day you'll be MINE!) I will never understand people who get stressed to the point of it not being fun. Collecting isn't supposed to be some sort of job that you have to deal with, it's supposed to just be fun! Granted, my want list is pretty extensive and I'm far from being a "no-duplicate characters" collector, but not to the point of being aggravating. :huh:

I would love for Lagoona to get more development. She's just so well-grounded, kind, understanding, etc that her character can come across as a bit boring. I love Abbey and all, but I also felt a bit sad for Lagoona that she didn't get to even appear in today's new webisode. All the other ghoulfriends got to be there! :c
Speaking of Rochelle, I watched the episode she's featured in and to be honest she felt like a knock-off version of Abbey to me. I expected her to be really sweet and bubbly (which would have been a nice contrast since gargoyles are supposed to be so stoic) but she ended up just being a bit bland to me.That's what we ALL Though about Rochelle once she spoke in the GR Special. XD

Indeed, it always seems to. I remember telling myself when I got my first MH doll (in 2010) that I would be satisfied with only one but then I ended up with all of the wave 1 dolls (besides Holt)...

I bought my first-ever Bratz doll today (to steal her clothes and wigs for my MH girls) and I just don't think the quality is up to par with Mattel. I know we've all had complaints about our dolls from time to time, but this Bratz doll just seems so cheap (and luckily, she was on clearance so I guess I got what I paid for). Monster High is also an extremely creative line... there are so many possibilities that haven't even been touched yet.
I found Scaris Deuce today at a Walmart :cheer: He's my very FIRST guy ^.^ I'm so happy. I do not have a Cleo yet though so she might be a little angry when she finds that Deuce is the only male among my many ghouls :blush:

It always amazes me that Mattel can come up with different face molds for every single character (except CA Cupid having Ghoulia's facemold) and I always wish that other playline doll companies would follow suit! It isn't enough for me anymore to see the exact same face in a different skin/eye/hair color now. I want them all to have unique facemolds! MH has spoiled me for playline dolls.

MH has spoiled me as well with all the different face molds for different characters. Barbie DOES have a handful of different face molds, but usually their used for their special collectors dolls while the playlines all have the same mold. I DID like how when they were doing the Basics line all the girls (and the few guys) had different facemolds that they had used over the years. Also, they have the So In Style line of African American dolls who each character has a different, more realistic face mold, which was pretty nice. But yeah, I'm tired of playline Barbies and I"ll only get one if the theme of it really calls to me, like the Fashion Designer or some of the internationals.

Yeah, they did use a couple of different molds on playline Barbies, but most of the ones I had when I was a kid were the same Superstar mold just with brunette hair and brown eyes instead of blonde and blue. And don't even THINK about getting a redhead. My ONE playline redhead when I was a kid was a Whitney, who was skipper sized. Has anyone noticed a tag for the Werewolf Sisters at their Targets AFTER their resets have been completed? Is there still a chance of finding them in store?

My target got reset a couple weeks ago, but the shelves are still pretty empty. They don't actually order their product. The warehouse just ships them whatever they want. It doesn't make sense, but unfortunately thats how it is. They don't even know what they are getting till they get it.
I call every truck day and ask them to run the DPCI number for the power ghouls, and when they do that, they can also see if any other stores in the area have it in stock as well. I love that because I only ever have to call one store, and no driving is involved!

It frustrates me, because if they would let the stores make their own orders, then they could get much more accurate numbers and the shelves wouldn't have to run empty like this :( They could sell more product!
Does anyone know anything about Signature Ghoulia and when she had saran hair? Was she made in a different country when she had saran?
I have two different Signature Ghoulias, one says made in Indonesia and one says made in China.. is there a difference between the two? The one that was made in Indonesia has hair that feels different then the China one, maybe its just me though. Anyone got any info?

And if you guys can adjust the BOH on a store level, and someone does that while a customer has one or two items in their shopping cart, then that creates an error also. So when the customer finally checks out, all of a sudden your perfect BOH is now -2. And then the truck comes in and that 12 pack from the warehouse never arrived, and now you are at -14.
I had sooo much fun trying to keep those numbers right when I worked in a grocery store. LOL. So many customers walking around with so many little things. The BOH was almost never right.

During X-mas it was ALL over the place because the system wasn't updating properly and DC kept on saying they sent stuff that never showed up, or people would steal crap, or we had to damage out a bunch of crap because some kid puked on it. Ugh. So annoying. >.<
I know a big problem at our Walmart too (didn't really notice until I worked there) is that a lot of stuff can sit in shopping carts for days/weeks on the floor or in the back because people ignore/don't have the time to replace them. It is really bad at our local one. Things from returns or items people decided not to get at the registers or placed on a shelf somewhere else in the store. We would have carts lined up along the action aisles or in the back room of things like that. That is another way that your count gets off.
Or like in dry grocery we would get pallets of shipments that would sit in the main aisles in the stock room without being binned because there wasn't room or enough stocking people. So our shelves could be empty but our system could say we had 20 of something but since it was just on a pallet we couldn't go find it or find it easily.

My guess is that we'll either see them as exclusives (Target or TRU most likely), or as a case refresh. Fingers crossed for them to NOT be in a five pack with the other three Scaris basics lol.

@ Bow Tie- Ive straightened Ghoulias hair with boiling water and it was so much easier than the other ghouls. Hers got straight instantly :) Unless they changed her hair this should work. When it gets straight just run some cold water over it to set it
I got my first CaM set today; the werewolf/dragon! I'm still not 100% sure I like the dragon, but I do really like the werewolf.

So on Youtube, that Monster High Expert guy claimed he had gotten a Catrine DeMew at his Walmart. The "review" video is about 6 minutes long and I only skimmed it, but it doesn't seem he ever shows us the doll in box, only the back(ish) of the box.
All he got in the comments were congratulations and such so I'm guessing he either shows the doll at some point (not gonna watch the entire video to see if he flashes her) or people just read the video title and are blindly congratulating him. Anyway, not accusing him of lying about finding her but he seems to be the veeeery first finder since listings of in-hand dolls aren't even up on eBay yet. Anyone find her at their local Walmart?

I did find clearance Skull Shores dolls at Fred Meyer for $7 (they also had the bridesmaids ponies for $4).
If I have ghouls whose hair is greasy, even after a vigorous washing, does that indicate glue seepage? I have 3 girls whose hair almost feels slimy, and I'm wondering if reroots are the only solution.

So I decided to pick up an extra Skelita to use for my Skele CAM. I didn't even remove the clothes yet was getting the darn plastic off the arm. The front part of the bubble part of the neck area snapped LOL and was promptly eaten when I lifted the doll up by my dog...so I have no clue what to do. Her Head just flops about now :( I do not recommend trying to handle the skelita's in any manor other then observing them from a distance :(

They didn't seem to have a spot for the deluxe FP though...does Target usually not sell these? What do they retail for in stores?I don't know if Target will carry them, but I have seen them at TRU for 11.99 each pack. Amazon has them for a $1 more so if you don't want to drive forever looking for them, it might be the way to go! (I found them way on opposite side of town so I am considering ordering the other two heee)

I think I've read that kanekalon has a lower tolerance for heat, so you would have wanted to use a lower temp. of water on her:( I'm so sorry, Rococo:(

Ok, at the moment I sort of feel like Homer Simpson, who set his milk on fire while trying to make a bowl of cereal, but I tried to boil straighten signature Spectra's hair today (she was sort of bait-ish) and her hair melted into this fuzzy mess. I know I must have done something wrong as everyone seems to straighten her kanekalon hair with boiling water with no problems, but here is what I did: I washed her hair with human hair conditioner/warm water and while it was still wet, I poured the boiling water on it.
Her hair instantly clumped together where the water hit it and looked like it had melted and soon turned all... springy/coily. It has tight little waves in it now and I can tell that once it dries, it's going to poof out something fierce. Should I have poured boiling water on her hair dry? Was the water just too hot?
I might be looking to buy depending on which dolls you have! :)

I did the same thing with my DDG Spectra while I was trying to get that kink from her ponytail out. Not only did it frizz her hair, but I think I must have rubbed her lip in the process, so now she has a smear on the paint there :/
today at Walmart all there was were 2 PD Draculaura, 2 DDG Lagoona, 1 DDG Operetta,3 DDG 3 packs and 5 coffin beans with Clawdeen and 1 each of the 3 ghouls alive.... >_> I guess... An improvement since they had empty shelves for 2 weeks :P

hehe yeah maybe the boiling water was a touch too hot for her hair. I specifically used that Spectra because she's the most baity of the the kanekalon dolls I own so I knew I wouldn't be too gutted if something went wrong. I don't think her hair's salvageable anymore so some time in the future, I will probably get her re-rooted. c:

I smoked for a little over 5 years and when I was smoking, I haven't for almost 2 years now, you can't tell how bad a smoke smell is on something because you're used to that smell. Now that I haven't been smoking I smell even the smallest trace of it instantly. To a smoker, or someone who lives with a smoker it can be hard to pick up on a light smoke smell. At least, that's just what I've noticed from being a smoker and becoming a non-smoker

Personally, I wouldn't mind buying them if they've been in a seperate room. I can tell the difference in smell between something that's been in the same area where smoking has been vs being in a room where smoking doesn't happen. I think you mentioning it is a good idea and a very kind thing to do regardless of if anyones mentioned any smell before. I personally always worry about allergens with people and smoke is a big sensitivity to a lot of people. Along the lines of your dolls for sale, are they all nude?

Unfortunately, I couldn't look at the MH sheet because some lady was standing there staring at every little aspect of each MH doll while her daughter was tugging on her wanting to leave. With only one per case and that's if the store even orders the right case....and if they order what every 2 weeks (Maybe more if lucky) then man....there's too many people where I live to get lucky and grab him!
The case has 1xDraculaura, 1xAbbey, 1xGhoulia and 1xDeuce. I haven't seen Ghoulia or Deuce so...I'm happy as long as they pull through.

Oh and I preordered Scaris case from BBTS also a few weeks back. Said it wouldn't be ready until February, but that's fine. I do hope they are better then EE, I preordered from them before Venus was released and they still haven't "gotten then in". WHich I am thankful for since I have her now, thanks to a member here. But I'd hate to sit there and wait for a release in BBTS and years later it arrives...

I think Souffaloufagous just meant it's particularly annoying on her or something. I hate how so many of the dolls have eyebrows that don't match... Though my boyfriend snarkily pointed out that when I was in high school, my (dark brown) eyebrows didn't match my dyed-blond hair.

I think all Frankies (aside from the black-and-white ones) have brown eyebrows. She was stitched together from different human body parts so maybe that can be used to explain why her eyebrow color never matches her hair. xD

On the eyebrows/hair front, it's never bothered me. My hair naturally changes shade with how much I'm outside, and I have dark thick eyebrows so they never match. My mom dyes her eyebrows, but she dyes hers darker because they're naturally white blonde and just blend in with her face, while she leaves her hair natural. It's just never been something that bothers me. *shrug* Sometimes, though, dyed eyebrows will throw me off. Like, when I see someone with neon hair that has dyed their eyebrows to match. It sometimes looks weird.

Mine is set up using the harpy head with the unicorn limbs. It's close but not perfect :)

Ok, so after seeing people say the High School playset is going for about $30 Clearance, I rushed into my car, speed towards 2 target, swerving, dodging, causing hundred car pileups behind my path, just to see that the High School playset is still going for retail at my target. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI know how you feel. Someone said they'd seen the Picture Day dolls at a Kmart here in Auckland, so I went looking and all I found was classroom Ghoulia. :(

Quick question for the more knowledgeable MHers around here - is hyper-flexion of the knee joints a common problem, particularly for Robecca? I pulled her out of the box (finally splurged on her!!) and her knees are CRAY-CRAY!! :faint: I'm not sure if this is a common issue, or if I just got a goofy-kneed Robecca! The problem is that when you put her legs "straight," it's very easy to make them bend forward, so it looks like her knees are backward! Any idea?

I got DT Abbey at Tuesday Morning earlier this month. She was the only one they had at the moment though. TM gets stuff pretty randomly. A couple of years ago they had a BUNCH of Hestia dolls, then NEVER AGAIN. Makes me said because I was only able to get one and I'd like to have more.

Catrine looks SO LOVELY (I think she would make an awesome Unicorn, Zapper!), but I wish she had something on her legs. Not so much for modesty, which is meh, but just to have more clothing pieces/more going on with her outfit. I looove tights/leggings/thigh/knee-highs. I also wish the three new characters in Scaris had pets! :< Since I feel this is their signature release.

I found Poulter Ghoul and Wonder Wolf yesterday too. I did not get Wonder Wolf though as the doll did nothing for me. I would love to get the stock someday but her hair looked like a rat nest and the green just does not go with her brown hair color.

I really hope the April Fools' joke is not all we get for him.I think it would be pretty neat if InvisiBilly ended up being this year's April Fools' doll (as in, like an actual doll of him started to "Surprise!" show up on store shelves that day...and maybe a 1/6th variant of an legit "invisible" doll in the box). xD
As for Invisibilly, I swear he's been out for a long time, since last year. This may seem like a dumb question but are there any dolls with red hair? Besides Operetta >_>Little Dead Riding Hood (Clawdeen) has red streaks in her hair, and the CAM dragon/werewolf set comes with a wine red colored wig. I can't think of any others off the top of my head.
Many of the dolls are like that and chopping off the barbed prong won't help (I tried it with my I <3 Fashion Frankie). The problem is the way the ring at the bottom is connected to the post in the neck. Some of them are too tight. Others have an issue with the post not being straight.Alright, I'll take your word for it then since you've tried it. I just wish there was a way to experiment and see how it all works in their head with the post, ring and everything. Maybe like get a baity doll, then chop the head around the ears and move the head around, trying to understand how it works in there.

Although I think Catrine is beautiful, I'd like to see Mattel release more monster-looking dolls. In my house, there are enough pretty Barbie and Disney Princess dolls. What attracts me and my daughters to MH is the fact that they are not perfect looking girls. MH dolls are pure fantasy. Part of what makes these dolls so awesome is they take things that are scary to kids (like werewolves, ghosts and vampires) and make them more approachable. They take away the fear and replace it with fun. So let me ask you this: What's more frightening than spiders?!
Please Mattel, release Wydonna. We need more fabulous and truly monsterous ghouls. We need to hear her back story and get to know her. We need more dark skinned beauties to balance out the uber pale ghouls. I need a reason to be less afraid of spiders (cause I'm terrified of them!). We just need her!

Used this to fix my Skelita's neck I was planning on removing the head on it but part of the neck broke off when I was trying to get the rubber band from out of one of the joints I guess I man handled the body too hard trying to get it off and snapped poor Skelitas head off and part of the neck fell on the floor so the head piece and post that goes up into the head just flopped right off. After a small struggle I found the piece of neck that broke off and posted about it. Mermaid suggested E6000 and I patched her up with my Skele cam's head on it though I did invest in a white duct tape too just to make sure. She turned out great so I recommend that E6000. Also found a broken umbrella at a thrift store I mended too with the E6000 and it's fine. Won't be able to remove the post from it but it works :) Thanks mermaid and trust me her advice is sound :D If you have problems finding it I got a packet of 4 tubes at walmart in the crafts area.Thanks! I still feel kinda bad that it had to happen. >,< Now this gives me a good reason to go to walmart! Adhfalkdjlkehrlkjsa..... *pauses to hyperventilate* I have the BEST FRIENDS EVER!!! I got a call this morning from one of them saying that Catrine was in stock at our local Walmart. I was all "Cool, I'll have to go before work." She told me that there was 'only one left' and that if I"d pay her back she'd pick her up for me.
Well, just a few minutes ago my friends came by the house (along with a friend I don't see very often). She actually just gave me Catrine as a late x-mas present! Yay! So super happy! I'll post pics of her tonight when I get home but for now I need to get ready for work. ;.;

While I do like Catrine (I don't think there's been a character yet that I haven't liked or wanted), I would honestly trade her in a heartbeat for the Daughter of Arachne. She really knocked my socks off when I first saw her prototype, I'm disappointed that we still have yet to hear anything about her (though the comic cameo makes me hopeful), or see anything remotely close to her since.
I don't mind if they want to play it safe on exclusives every now and then, like with Catrine or Scarah, but I'm with you Michelle, I'm really itching for Mattel to push the boundaries by including more monstrous characters in their line up. I feel that the other two recently released Scaris girls were great. Skelita is actually one of my favorite dolls at the moment and I was surprised that many people didn't seem to like her. She's just the right amount of creepy and cute for me. I really love her skeletal body, and I even find her wall-eyed look to be endearing. ^.^

Although I think Catrine is beautiful, I'd like to see Mattel release more monster-looking dolls. In my house, there are enough pretty Barbie and Disney Princess dolls. What attracts me and my daughters to MH is the fact that they are not perfect looking girls. MH dolls are pure fantasy. Part of what makes these dolls so awesome is they take things that are scary to kids (like werewolves, ghosts and vampires) and make them more approachable. They take away the fear and replace it with fun. So let me ask you this: What's more frightening than spiders?!
Please Mattel, release Wydonna. We need more fabulous and truly monsterous ghouls. We need to hear her back story and get to know her. We need more dark skinned beauties to balance out the uber pale ghouls. I need a reason to be less afraid of spiders (cause I'm terrified of them!). We just need her!

When you said you also put it around the neck ball after the round part of the anchor, did you glue it so the whole thing is completely stiff or is it still wobbly/move as it originally would out of box/first time beheading??
Because the E6000 is flexible the neck is not stiff. It doesn't roll around the same way a fresh out of the box one does but it has give to turn and tip all the same. I honestly can't remember which Abbey I did this to, I think it was the one I pictured but I've forgotten and can't tell the difference anymore by feel.

Sorry to interrupt the Catrine talk, but just a note to fellow UKers - just found all the deluxe scaris dolls, including both Skelita and Jinafire, at my local sainsbury's (I'm in London), even though it has the tiniest toy section ever! So if you have one near you and don't have them yet, it's worth checking it out :)
Also, I do think this might be the ideal opportunity for us to start a Wydowna Fan Club thread so that us extremists can blab about every facet of her. That lovely creature deserves a thread all to her own!

When it comes to stocking toys and items are they mostly stocked at night? I live by two Walmarts, but I'm in a decently small town without the scalpers. Sometimes it's good because I can find things and others things are not restocked a lot since people are not buying toys much. I figure I'll start checking in the mornings on the way to work since I usually leave so early anyway no ones up. My Walmart seems to stock it's shelves (the entire store of shelves) all day and night. It's a very busy Walmart and the management want it to be fully stocked at all times. I've gone to the toy dept in different times of the day and there is atleast one person unloading a cart of cases of toys. Right now there is a bunch of Scaris deluxe and slim box, dance class, GA and PD. We also have the single and double fashion packs, cars, coffin beans, cafe and the 3 doll pack. It's a poop load of dolls for me to dig around in every time I get a minute to poke in there.
Anyone work at Walmart able to get Duece's UPC to pop up on the telzon? I don't use them so I don't know.

There are several things I like about HHM. First, she appears to use the larger torso. Her head is designed to come off (it looks like it can be easily put on and removed, unlike the normal dolls), she's the first doll of an adult, she has a really cool outfit.... and her concept is unique to both the franchise and to playline dolls.
Catrine, on the other hand, shares a head mold with two other dolls (granted, those dolls are twins, but still), and there are already three werecats in the line. There are also three werewolves, but each one of those has something unique; gender or body size.
Like I've said before; Catrine is pretty, just not creative. For playline in general, but especially for this line. Even C.A. Cupid, who was another random one-shot character with a reused head mold, had more creativity. She's a monster who was adopted by a god. She was the first "winged" doll, and those wings were stunning. And she was the first to utilize the body tattoos.

It is so much better than Ghouls Rule! Kinda makes me want to buy the Roller Maze line. I honestly just don't like the Roller Maze line but just adore the movie.

I hope they're not pulling a target and lumping all Deluxe MH into one barcode #. >,<;Well how site to store is explained to me is that what you order comes from the distribution center/warehouse. It doesn't come from the store shelves. That's why sometimes you order something and it takes a few days or weeks to arrive, depending on the distribution centers location. The store I work at has a center about 2 hours away, and sometimes we can deliver same day as order depending on the time the order was put through.

Well it's hard to be picky about face up when what you order is what you get.
That's what made me question it at first too. That one fooled a lot of people and there's some pretty talented folks out there that can fake packaging. Lol that is just like me. A lot of my older dolls have wonky eyes because I wasn't quite as picky about them back then as I am now. Hell, some of them I even picked out myself from a bunch of others because I didn't really notice the uneven eyes at the time. >_>

Edit: The box is different and has unique art on the interior, as well as the exterior. Plus, they all have ungloved hands and Toralei has the updated tail.
My favorite thing about the Friday Night Frights special was probably Heath and Mannytaur cheer leading...I think I have a problem :)lol I know right?! Thank you for passing on the info PiexLover, and I'd really like all of this to be true (gah! Wydowna!? Invisi Billy!), but there's a few tidbits in this list that are wrong. Color Me Creepy was initially assumed by a few people to be the funky-colored Lagoona and Howleen dolls that had prototype images leaked recently. Thereafter the rumor mill immediately spread this as factual, but the people who took the original survey have confirmed that they're not connected.
The trademark for the line was discovered immediately before the images surfaced, so that's likely where the confusion came from. The images of the dolls in question are meant to be a part of the basic 13 Wishes line, while Color Me Creepy are color-changing Create-A-Monster sets.
Did this person list any sources for why they would have this information? If they're telling the truth, then it may just be a perception of what they believed the dolls to be a part of if they just glanced them over and didn't get any additional info, but I'm going to take it with a grain of salt for now. Toyfair is in less than 3 weeks though, so we'll be able to confirm or deny it all pretty soon. :)

Thank you for passing on the info PiexLover, and I'd really like all of this to be true (gah! Wydowna!? Invisi Billy!), but there's a few tidbits in this list that are wrong. Color Me Creepy was initially assumed by a few people to be the funky-colored Lagoona and Howleen dolls that had prototype images leaked recently. Thereafter the rumor mill immediately spread this as factual, but the people who took the original survey have confirmed that they're not connected.
The trademark for the line was discovered immediately before the images surfaced, so that's likely where the confusion came from. The images of the dolls in question are meant to be a part of the basic 13 Wishes line, while Color Me Creepy are color-changing Create-A-Monster sets.
Did this person list any sources for why they would have this information? If they're telling the truth, then it may just be a perception of what they believed the dolls to be a part of if they just glanced them over and didn't get any additional info, but I'm going to take it with a grain of salt for now. Toyfair is in less than 3 weeks though, so we'll be able to confirm or deny it all pretty soon. :)

Went to Fred Meyer, found Rochelle, bought her with with Home Coupon need her to go with Robecca and Venus: $22.66
Went to a different one and didn't find the school playset...Until I looked at a different spot, they did! $39.40
Add that all together and I basically dropped $74.11 in one day, and now I'm starting to feel REALLY guilty about it...dang...>,<; :yikes:
It's like a Yay! Now I have a Rochelle (and soon Robecca) to go with my Venus moment and I really wanted the school set and now that I have it, I kinda feel like I shouldn't have it....Maybe it's because of how much I spent so quickly or something that's making me feel like this, but wow, I am feeling so full of guilt & regret right now.

I don't have my camera at the moment since my parents took it with them on their trip. I might plan to open them later when I make more room. :P I guess in a way you're right with thinking of the good out of the purchase than the bad, if I added all 3 with retail price, I would've spent an estimate of $125.00. Saved a whole lot on the School Playset and Robecca, but it's still such a high amount, so I'll just have to find a way to make up what I lost and I should be fine. :biggrin:

I bought DDG Lagoona for $11 and GR Cleo for $13. Great deals! I don't need anymore Lagoonas, but I love having extras for fashion packs. I would have gotten another RM Lagoona, but I'm not a fan of her crayon-ish yellow. I prefer blonde that she usually has. I would have gotten PD Cleo if she was on sale! :cry:

And you're right about the "Color Me Creepy" dolls. People who have seen the pictures all said that Howleen was part of "13 Wishes".Exactly! And the actual CmC dolls I've seen were a sea monster and a werewolf (both girls), so I think that's what the CAM boys are actually, as disappointing as that is (would've loved some more boys).
The text also said nothing about the CMC CAM set with Frankenstein's laboratory. Very suspicious.

Just tell them that you went after the holidays and they still didn't have any in stock.. I told that to the lady at the self check out before I tried to use it and she's couldn't have cared more.

As far as I know there is no "Colour me Creepy" Howleen and Lagoona. They keep banging on about "Colour me Creepy" Howleen and Lagoona, but it's the "13 Wishes" ones they keep calling that. This is what you get when some douche I shared images with didnt keep them seceret and didnt know what lines they were from.
"Colour me Creepy" is a new line of CAM's.
Wouldnt trust the CAM's boy news, the only ones I have seen are girls and they are the "Colour me Creepy" dolls as I have shared those images with 2 trusted people here.

I almost bought Skellita today. I don't even really like her. I hate orange. She's wall eyed. She just doesn't do anything for me.
But the longer this line is out and the more people talk about wanting her and not seeing her, the more I am tempted to buy her and hang into her and keep her in box. I want her because of her rarity, not because I actually like her. Not because I am a completionist either. I really don't care if I have every single doll. I only want the ones I like. And now, apparantly, the ones that are rare. I would grab another jinafire to keep in box also because of rarity. Then some day down the line if I wind up needing emergency money, I can sell off the boxed ones. I look at it as a sort of investment, I suppose.

While it is certainly possible to sell toys for emergency money, like psy mentioned, I personally would not 'invest' in toys, or at least not MH. Maybe something that has been around as long as barbie, or maybe art-toys.. but still... It could always backfire. Lots of old toys aren't even worth retail now.
And an item being highly sought after NOW is no gurantee either.. Remember Pokemon and Digimon? Those used to sell like hot cakes when I was young (..well, younger xD). And when you missed out on something you had to shell out a lot of money for it on ebay. ..most of these items sell for about a dollar now. :7

When I saw her in person, I actually liked her so I got her. So far I haven't really bought any dolls just for "investment" purposes, I will buy a rare doll when I see them, but then turn right around and sell them (for little to no profit, at that)... Last night I had a dream that the library I work at had Monster High dolls available for trade. While it is certainly possible to sell toys for emergency money, like psy mentioned, I personally would not 'invest' in toys, or at least not MH. Maybe something that has been around as long as barbie, or maybe art-toys.. but still... It could always backfire. Lots of old toys aren't even worth retail now.
And an item being highly sought after NOW is no gurantee either.. Remember Pokemon and Digimon? Those used to sell like hot cakes when I was young (..well, younger xD). And when you missed out on something you had to shell out a lot of money for it on ebay. ..most of these items sell for about a dollar now. :7
While I'm not saying MH will share the same fate, it's still possible! So I would be careful using toys as an investment, but maybe that's just me. :)

I wish I could get rid of my Diddl collection from childhood. My brother and me had those binders for the notepad pictures and we also had a plushie army. 11-year-old me loved this crap and nowadays nobody wants to help me get those mice out of my life again, because nobody wants them anymore, lol!
I think it's like stickers or trading cards. You need to find the right publisher and bam! the character will sell on its own. Kids love to collect little pictures. It's a law of nature. Just like kids loving dinosaurs *g*
I think the new "Diddl" are those very simply drawn sheep.I myself collect for the fun of it, this community, the great friends I made through it, the anticipation of a new doll and the joy of styling them.. for me, the money is gone the minute I spent it. I'm not feeling guilty, either.. most of my friends blow their money for concert tickets, alcohol, parties, sport clubs or football tickets.. so at least *I* have some dolls to show for it. ..sure, I might sell them off some day, but I don't plan like that, so I can freely play with them, restyle them, repaint them, etc. I throw away my boxes, too..

I came for the ponies and stayed for MH (and the nice people here).
I think the only way of making good money with MH dolls right now is going for the SDCC exclusives and the boys. Gil skyrocketed from 25€ retail to over 100€ on German ebay within only one year.
If I was in it mostly for the money, I'd only buy Deuces, Gils and Holts, keep them for one or two years boxed and then put them on ebay.
I have great respect for the people on here who keep their dolls boxed. I'm so in love with the character designs of MH dolls that I just can't wait to have them in my hands, look at them from all angles, touch the hair and clothes (I'm starting to sound like a creep, lol!!) - leaving them in their boxes would drive me crazy.
I seriously love MLP and MH figures/dolls. Looking at or "playing" with them makes me so happy.
It's a bit weird since I really wasn't a doll girl when I was small. I had Barbies and such, but I never really played with them. My big childhood love were Steiff plushies and dinosaur figures (like I said, it is a law of nature, lol).
So, I have a question. Since Boris Karloff played the Mummy, Frankenstein, and Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde does that make Frankie, Cleo, Nefera and Jackson/Holt are long lost siblings? As well as Draculaura and Operetta since Gerard Butler has portrayed The Phantom of the Opera and Dracula in more recent movies? I just thought it was interesting that so many monsters that are the parents at Monster High have been played by the same actors.
I decided to pop by Walmart tonight just for curiosity's sake. I wasn't too hopeful about Catrine, since she hasn't been found on the east coast yet, and I was right in assuming I wouldn't find her, her space was still empty, but I did find a lone Scaris Deuce pushed in the back of the basics shelf! :biggrin:

I was at TRU yesterday and didn't even know the werecat set existed so I walked right by the MH section without a proper look. :/ This is what I get for not lurking here enough. XDmy tru had zilch yesterday soo dissapointing!!

Thanks! The southcenter store doesn't do it, but the puyallup store offered to have it transferred so i jumped on it. I have another errand in puyallup this week, so that works for me :)

I called Walmart to see if they had Cartine in. I was put on hold forever and transferred to at least 3 different people. When they finally got a hold of someone in the toy department he didn't even check to see if they had any! He just told me that he wasn't sure what they had in and the I should just go to the store and see. UGH!

I went to my walmarts service desk, and all I got was a bunch of cranky ladies going "what baby doll you talkin about? We get stuff every night check later."

that's why they WON'T hire you ... you are knowledgeable and that means they'd have to pay you more ...
this is OFTEN the train of thought at 99.999999999999999999999% of retail establishments ... they'd rather have unhelpful rude people there ony for the paycheck that they can get away with paying minimum wage instead of people who would LIKE to work there, know what they're atalking about, and be helpful ... people go there for low prices, not service ... :(

Last night I had one. Oh gods.
There were sets with Gil, Lagoona and an underwater craft that looked a bit like a futuristic submarine, a hover craft for Robecca and several deep sea thingies for Clawd, Frankie and Abbey.

She said Holt was kind of cute and then Jackson was grossed out. That part was funny!
I liked it because Jackson/Holt has such a hard time fitting in in the monster community, but Claire seemed to like him the way he is. She thought Holt was cute and kissed Jackson. She doesn't see them as two people and that's really what he needs.
Frankie and Jackson/Holt didn't work out because she couldn't handle the two of them, but with Claire's (the way I see Claire's) point of view he's just one guy.
But maybe I'm putting WAY too much thought into this :lol:
I dunno see I didn't take it as Frankie being unable to handle the two f them. I saw it more as the guys were having so many personal issues with each other they lacked any room for her. Frankie helped both of them try to figure out who they were while Claire made Holt into Jackson before kissing him. That doesn't strike me as accepting both sides. But that's just my 2 cents.

I wonder if they'd re-release the wave 1 girls here eventually. It would make sense since there's new fans of the dolls that missed them, plus the characters are always shown in their signature outfits in the webisodes. I'm sure there are lots of people who want them but can't afford eBay prices for them.
