They are from a line called "Pony" and are available at TRU here in Sweden. I have all the unicorns, but they also have baby and adult earth ponies (I don't think they're as cute, though). :)

My Remco seapony! I went to clean her out and she had like, CONCRETE inside of her! It was crazy!Omg, I have heard that about these Remco Sea Ponies, that they put an actual physical rock inside of them! That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. Can you tell me how well she floats? Assorted fakies, I know the big one is CPK, the purple one on the right I bought new in-store in the 2000s, and the blue sparkle G3 looking girl was from someone on the Arena!

Now, this surprised me - the purple pony is a Disney horse (apparently she came with a little Belle figure to put on the saddle!), but the white horse has the same mold for the torso!! They just gave it a different (pointier!) head, with glass eyes! Woah!

I got the pink one from my father when I was a teeny girl, he never got me any real MLP due to the price of them and the fact that G1 was out of production in '99. The yellow one I got from a forum which someone was selling their fakies at, and I got a green MGR fakie with the yellow one as well. The pink one is by far the one that is most worn, she have had ink stains from a pen removed and had to have replacement hair due to brittle hair. :)

I just got my MFA in Creative Writing in May of this year! LOL! :lol:
you know its really nice to see fakies finally getting the love they deserve! I remember way back when I first joined the online MLP community for some reason those unique non MLPs where hated and reviled. :( I'm so glad the communities attitude towards them are changing for the better. :)
I have always loved them and believe they play a very important roll in the toy world. When I was little my parents couldn't often afford to buy me real MLPs. but there was always an "affordable" fakie pony that they could get me and I'm sure there are a lot of other children out there from lower income families that would never have known the joy of playing with a pony toy if it wasn't for those noble fakies. :)

Aaaargh Mini Fillies! I had these as a child and I wish I had kept hold of them! I had the pink and blue pegs and the orange and lilac unicorns. I love how the pegs wings flap when you press their bum. One day I hope to own them again but they seem to be pretty HTF.

Wow, I'd love to know as well! Or more specifically, are those g3 baby fakies? :shocked: WANT!They certainly appear to be! Although when surrounded by the others, they come off as looking like G4 stallions who happen to have eyelashes. (And hearts in their eyes, of course.) I'll forward you the link too.

The one on the left is a Remco fakie (I had a few genuine ones when I was younger). She's got a genuinely sweet face, although those airbrushed bluish spots on her wings make it look like she's got poor blood circulation. :huh:
The one on the right (whose hair was wet when this photo was taken) has definitely had a haircut, but it actually looks good on her. It gives her a spunky, impish look that complements her expression.

Stormness has mentioned that they are fakies of the Enchanted Kingdom Horses, they're not very big. They're made of flexible rubber, it's a tad sticky too :/ They're about shoulder height to my Crumpet fakie. I'd love to find more of them!

I have this pony! This exact one! I'm from Indiana where we have our annual Covered Bridge Festival. It brings a lot of business to this area, and one year (2012 I think) I stumbled upon some knock-off Barbie dolls packaged with these little fakies. I could only afford to buy one, so I picked out the white one thinking she was prettiest. The problem though, is that the pony was being held in the box by this really tacky gold wire, and it bled into the pony! :yikes: Poor dear has a terrible gold stripe down her side, and sunfading hasn't helped. :( I still love her though- she's a very cute pony. I was able to snatch up a purple and a pink fakie friend for her at the MLP Fair too. :)

A few of my fakies still need a good spa day and some I'm hoping to give a bit of TLC, my poor frumpet needs some new locks as she is missing some of her plugs, as do a few others, and some have really messed up symbols. But once they're done I'm sure they'll look fabulous! :D

Apologies, I didn't go through the whole thread, but I picked up my very first thrift ponies today! I never find ponies :) I found a G3 SLH Petal Blossom, and also picked up this Fakie because I know they are well loved around here and thought maybe someone wants to give her a home once she's cleaned up!

Ok I'm super excited! I was giving some of my fakies a much needed spa treatmet, I got to me pink baby donkey and realised her plastic was a bit see through, and then it clicked. Maybe she is one of the glow in the dark baby donkeys. So I put her in the sun, then after a minute went to a dark room and she glowed! I have a glow in the dark baby donkey! Eeeee! :frolic:
Funnier still, I was talking to my partner about how there were glow in the dark ones and I really wanted one, and then my light bulb turned on! So excited! :D :D :D

Really? That's quite funny! I rarely ever see ponies in opshops/thrift shops near me, and I have access to over 15. I've seen a Maccas pony once or twice, and a few G3's, but that's usually it. To find an actual G3 priced less than a fakie is funny, but I guess those working in the shop just thought the bigger one was worth a bit more than the little one?

They're by Lanard, and came with either surfboards or snowboards. Yes, snowboarding ponies! (The snowboarding one actually came with an adorable white weasel/mink/ermine that I'd love to have someday!)
I collect those particular CPKs, Stars, but I don't really know much about them either. What makes them collectable to me are the little raised hearts on their hooves, so I call them "raised heart" fakies. So original, I know, but that's what I call them. :p

As you can see, I have your blue one and also her pink sister with the same symbol. The blue one reminds me of Nachtlicht. :frolic: The green one has butterfly and flower symbols, and I apologize for her angle being one where you can't really see that. She also has brown eyes, which is neat because she's also green! I guess they just looked good with that color scheme. Also, the red one with the apple symbols is my favorite fakie in my entire collection. I think she is beautiful. :lovey: I named her Spiced Cider, and it's true... I do have a few beauty shots of her, though this one is my favorite.

Lemme think... I don't think they do - but they're defining feature is the horseshoe prints under their feet, which none of the newer ones seem to have. they also have eyelashes, and two rows of hair, with a rooted tail. I'm thinking nineties, maybe 94-97? I know they were among my first ponies, but they weren't there right at the start.. I'm sure I'd have records somewhere.

And I think the right one has a similar head as well. The left one seems to be related to those small glow in the dark donkeys headwise. You're absolutely right! He was sold as a groom along with a white bride, and two foals. (I think the necklaces the two white ponies are wearing did come with the set, and possibly the ribbons, but the hair clips came from the previous owner.)

I swear she came with that apple tree for size reference, as if to say, if this was a real creature, it would be taller than apple trees and blind you with it's vivid neon colour. It would also wear cheap fashion accessories and graze on glow sticks to help maintain it's ludicrously loud colour scheme. This monsters vividness I could not capture in photo, but she is the brightest fakie I own!

I'm of the opinion that the vintage Lanards have ugly faces that only a mother could love, but their colors and designs are so pretty that they make up for it! What they don't have in shape, they make up for in style.

I got this girl in a cheap lot together with the other ponies in the picture from the German ebay site last year. She looks pretty normal to me (apart from the eyes), not creepy like so many other fakies, but the plastic is softer and smells/feels cheaper than that used in the original MLPs.

I call her "Gloxinia" in my herd after lovely purple flowers. (Well I actually called her Tina Turner until I rehaired her lol) She a bit harder to find and I believe her to be vintage (possibly international). Did you get her from a local German seller?
Interesting Rachel on the lack of seaflower symbols, every Crumpet I have seen has them, some more faint than others. Do you have any packaging pics on your lovely girls?
You are most certainly posting on the right thread, because Colorscapesart is a collector and expert at these. :frolic: I'll give you the scoop on what I know though...
That is what's colloquially called a "Crumpet fakie" here in the community because she was lifted from the Crumpet pose. It has since been discovered that a cast was actually taken from the pony Seaflower, and the vintage Crumpets actually have a shell molded into the plastic from where the paint had stuck! You can check to see if your girl is vintage by searching for Seaflower's shell symbol on her non-display side jutting out of the plastic. I actually have not found the Seaflower symbol on my Crumpets that I bought from a gas station 2 years ago, so I have a feeling that some manufacturers might have covered it up. My vintage Crumpets, however, do have the symbol!
As far as exclusivity goes, they have been found in both the US and Europe, though it would be difficult to track down the original company that made these. If you look on the bottom of her feet, you'll actually see that someone took some clay and covered up Hasbro's stamp to I guess cover their tracks and not be found of stealing. I think their stomachs look kind of weird too, so I'm thinking someone edited the mold slightly so no one could claim piracy. No worries about quality either- the ones I own are also pretty squishy with typical fakie hair that frizzes easily. Some of the minty ones can pass for actual MLP, but the quality usually always gives it away, as they always have painted eyes and stamped symbols that differ from pony to pony.
I'm sure that Colorscapesart could probably tell you more, and could probably tell you more about your specific fakie. If you Google "crumpet fakie," a thread that she made on the old Arena should pop up with pictures from her own collection. I actually use that thread as a reference, because I too want all of the Crumpets! Gotta catch 'em all!
Oh yes, I forgot to mention, the missing plugs are quite normal. They were there from the unfortunate Seaflower who served as the casting mold of these types of fakies. For some reason, they are not given forelocks.
If I were you, I'd try to sell her here, as the Crumpets can be quite popular fakies among collectors! A lot of people customize them too, so if you'd like her for practice, that totally works too.

He is really cute! Poor thing's head was falling off when I pulled him out of the box and I am going to have to glue it :( He is soooo super squishy too. I have no idea if the previous owner had tried to glue his head on or if the glue on him now is factory, but whatever it is it's SO sticky! Dx I managed to scrape most of it off with my nails. I had a weird idea for keeping plugless necks together, but I haven't tried it yet, and it would only work for ponies with very small necks (such as my G3 baby whose plug I mangled. :blush: ). Maybe you could stick a cork in its neck? I figure if it's the right size, it would hold both of the pieces together, but it would also be easy to remove later. Glue might not even be necessary! Monstar's (adorable!) giraffe looks like it might be skinny enough to try it with.
Ponyqueen, your Remcos are in beautiful condition! It can be hard to find them with the red still in their hair - that's a color that "rots" and falls out fairly easily. :(

I have the same ones. We bought ours in the 90s from a catalog called The Oriental Trading Company. They sell lots of party supplies and the like, so I imagine they were sold to be party favors.

It should be noted that very few of those ponies listed will be "valuable" in terms of price, but it is a great list of fakies that people here tend to collect. :)
I would be hesitant to classify certain pony- or horse-shaped items as "fakies" just because they aren't Hasbro MLP. For example: anything Breyer or Lalaloopsy may produce in the way of bright-colored horses/unicorns/other fantasy-style equines have their own style and are part of a licensed, trademarked and "official" lineup of their own. Similarly, Bratz, Monster High, Barbie, She-Ra, and others that have a horse/pony creature as part of their lineup may be cashing in on the "girls love horses" trope, but they aren't making fakies, they're making their own toy with their own style (however freaky that style may be).
When I think of fakies, I think of Dollar Store knockoffs, either using Hasbro-style molds (stolen, copied or purchased, however they got hold of it) or something close enough to the concept that a newbie or well-meaning family member might mistake it for the "real thing." I think of cheaper vinyl/plastic/paint and weird hair. I think of cheap backcards/boxes with either stolen/reapproiprated artwork and titles like "Pretty Princess PONY!" or "Magic Rainbow Pony" or some other generic pony-centric "close enough" name. More recently, I think of the knockoffs that don't even try to hide their nature, like the knockoff blindbag ponies or the many G3 knockoffs that even went so far as to use the Hasbro art and lettering.
In short, a "fakie" is borrowing another product's identity and trading on that other product's popularity without really creating an identity of its own.
That is just my personal view, of course. That and a dollar might get you a can of soda pop! :lol:
I've never seen tails rooted in what looks like a straight line before.... :blink:
The vertical tail rooting is less common than the typical fakie swirl shape, but not completely unheard of. :)

I was more thinking about why the shape. The white chap mei should be the real deal - I have one exactly the same that is genuine! The pink one is probably a fakie - there was a point at the very end of the line where they used that symbol for all the ponies, and she has very detailed eyes like the genuines, but her baby is definitely a fakie, so that gives her awway if they definitely came together. There were only 3 baby colours at that point in the line, blue w/hearts symbol, white w/stars symbol, and pink w/roses symbol.
I got this pony with crazy curls from Timezone for 10 tickets, and as such, i call her Tickles.

Some have misshapen heads and the wings on the flutter like one are wibbily wobbly and they smell very heavily of smelly plastic

So I got a new Styling Starcatcher fakie when I went to Vietnam recently. She cost roughly 21 us dollars, and came with a yellow baby.
Here's the back of the box, srry for how terrible the quality is, like i said in my most recent brag, i was about to get on the plane hahaLets start with the fakie baby. She's obviously some kind of large new born cuties rip off.SpoilerAs you can see, she was pretty bad to begin with. Just applying slight pressure to her hair pulled most of it out, she's awkward to look at...but still somehow charming...Spoiler

These ones are actually transparent with the glitter in the plastic. They also split apart much like a POP pony. The hair is glued in with hot melt glue which pulls away from the body fairly easily. If you do this carefully the hair will stay together.

Ooh, ooh! this one, on the left there? He was my first -- actually my second ever pony. My first was a white one of him (they were boys to me) but I lost him at a crowded water park when I was 3. I remember this colourful wading pool, wearing some little frilly swimming pants and the white fakie-- one of my earliest memories.
My mum bought me a blue one as a replacement. I learned how to plait using his tail! Don't have him anymore, but what a trip down memory lane :heart: He was married to Hula Hula in my collection :cool:

Oh wow, you have a pink "donkey"!! I had 3 glow in the dark donkeys when I was little, and they even came to university with me. I dont know what happened to them after that :(shes so cute!

My order on these just arrived (they're super cute), but bad news, it looks like the American front of the store where they were being sold has been completely emptied. They were selling a lot of Hasbro and Simba and other fakies, and I'm going to guess they were shut down for the time being by the corporations they were ripping toys off of (just my theory). I think some people had success finding more on Ebay.
They have no makers marks and are sent in a 'fillies' printed bag, but are pretty obviously not from that line.

Now, from my own experience, one can set up an Aliexpress account, and have these items shipped to the United States IF it is possible for the seller to do so, even when shopping on non-US Aliexpress sites. In the case of these little guys they all ship from China and can be shipped directly to the US. To make things work all you would need to do would be to add the item to your cart, and if you did not want to check out in french/russian/thai, you would need to get yourself back into English on the site (by clicking a link to a US shop seems to be the easiest way) and then check out as normal. The items will stay in your cart even if you head offsite for some time, so long as they are still available from the seller.
I know this may sound a bit tricky, if anyone wants further help, just shoot me a message. Legality-wise, I'm not sure what kind of ground this is on, I mean, they're pretty obviously not fakies of Hasbro or Simba, but they're being marketed as such, which is weird, as they're so cute on their own.

I'm SO happy to have this girl! I missed out on getting her on ebay months ago and saw that Colorscapesart had her for sale. :D
Is she the same one..? is this a normal fakie from some kind of set..? her head and body both have the same pink polka dots but they seem to be made out of different materials. Someone please enlighten me!

I have a nice bunch of fakies for trade / swap and would love to participate, but Im afraid of a partner´s wantlist as many fakies dont have official names and such (or names are unknown to many of the sellers at ebay) so it might get very complicated to search for certain ones. Im a little torn on this... :/ It would break my heart not to make my partner happy .thats why I think photos for the wish lists would be nesscary!
1997 is the mold date, similar to MLP - she'd be a few years after that, although she was among the first releases of that mold, I believe she is one of the earlier '3rd gen' party ponies. (the generations are purely my way of organising lanards, not any official/collector scale) These sets were very erratic, coming as singles, family sets or playsets, in no real rhythm or reason, so they are hard to track down or collect without any real 'complete list', There's just so many colours, symbols and poses. Way back in the day, I went by backcards, but there was always different ponies popping up that were never on them!wow stormness you know alot about lanards!
Lol I have accumulated a few over the years! Mlp were so hard to come by for quite a few years, so lanards were my go-to ponies! I have a few 'vintage', the entire 2nd gen of party ponies, including the baby hearts variant, and a few from the third and fourth 'generations'.
