The Dollhouse / Re: Anti-MH Blog Post
« on: August 06, 2012, 08:33:13 AM »
My 7yr old daughter has been playing with MH since they've come out and this is her intake on them:

"I love Monster High because everyone accepts others for who they are and it is good to be different....it would be boring if we were all the same."

As for the bratz....a few years ago, my daughter had a few and liked watching some of the movies..... she paid more attention to their friendships and how they worked together in solving whatever the problem was on the show/movie than how they dressed.

I guess if a parent makes a big a deal on things like the sexuality of a doll, then the child will pay more attention to that aspect? I don't know....I never made it an issue and I'm proud of how she views things in life....like, it's what's on the inside that counts! She actually promotes everyone to be different and one way to be a good friend is to accept others for who they are.

Sellers on eBay just usually like to have tracking for international sales so they can receive their money sooner and be protected in case of a Paypal dispute being opened. The funds are usually released once the confirmation of delivery is there for eBay to see. Otherwise the wait could be a while and a buyer at anytime could say the item didn't get there/was lost in order to receive a full refund. The seller would have no say in it since the delivery was never confirmed.
I've never had that happen to me, but I've seen some bad buyers giving arena folks a hard time over on the TS forum.. ):

I've had sellers tell me that they jack up the shipping prices for out of the US just to discourage international buyers...... nice......

Why not just disable international shipping then?

You'd think that would be the first choice if one doesn't want to ship internationally.

Ack! My daughter and I were organizing all of her MH dolls and putting back on their original outfits and would you know it, all of her wave 1 dolls have the glue problem!!!!! Geez, I love these dolls and the whole MH thing and what they stand for but how can we get excited about new dolls when you just get the feeling that they're just gonna end up will greasey gooey hair? We have vintage dolls that have been around forever and their hair condition is way better!

.....just had to vent.....can't figure out why Mattel hasn't changed the methods of how they attach the hair in the factories in Indonesia or China .....I'm sure they have had a million emails regarding this problem by now......IMO, they should take their time and fix the problem instead of rushing to get 100 new doll characters out within a short peroid of time.

What do the ST dolls retail at? Like nearly $25 or something (counting tax and all that)..? Because that would be (guesstimating them at $25 each for an easy number to work with), $75... which doesn't seem.. right. To me, at least. Everyone is so upset about how much she is costing on eBay (around that mark), but fail to factor in that when you trade you still paid money for those dolls. And I wouldn't want to think about the money shipping three dolls would be (assuming they needed to be kept MIB for shipping).

Heh, I think that comes off as me "whining".. but I guess my method of thinking is if people are so upset at what Scarah's are worth after market right now, they shouldn't be spending more than $40 plus shipping on her (even in trade value). I think I just went all derp here and am making no sense.. haha.
Just curious, would the 3 Scary Tales dolls be a fair trade for MIB Scarah Screams?

I totally get it....I was just going by the est. of $80 from a previous post by someone who was talking about a Rebecca/Venus trade for a SS. I'm thinking that ST's are approx. $22 (not sure as I don't have a Target)......anyways, I was just curious and decided to ask....

I was wondering if someone can post the link to the tutorial on how to reattach MH legs to the doll? Someone did post one for me long time ago when I posted about my daughter's wave 1 Clawdeen legs falling off due to the elastic breaking.
Thanks!

Has anyone's MattyCollector order shipping? I am just getting a little worried

My Polly Pockets shipped today.

My SS was shipped today too. The one thing I'm bummed out about is I forgot to order the Polly Pocket set! We have the last two editions.... doh!

Today while I was out, my mother cleaned my room. Looks like she had some fun with my MH dolls while she was here though because they were all displayed on my bedside table posed and wearing accessories they were not previously x) It's pretty neat because previously she's just rolled her eyes at any collections or even interests of mine. She also bought me new shelves for my ponies and art supplies!

How cute! My mom does the same thing lol. Sometimes I will accidentally leave my dolls out on my desk when she comes to visit and I'll come back home to find them dressed up in different clothes or with their hair done up differently.

LOL! I'm a mom and I do the same thing!

Ahhh, I should have some extra money by then... it's just a matter of scalpers not crashing the site when everything goes up (since apparently that happens, a lot, with mattycollector.com). I need her like I need air aaaaaa.

Yes it does, every year there's complaints about the site crashing....I have a feeling its going to be worse this year!
