The Dollhouse / Re: Monster High Discussion Thread
« on: August 30, 2012, 09:06:38 PM »
I was reading on another forum over the weekend (of course I can't remember/find it now) that Robecca's penguin comes with either a black or gold backpack.  Anybody know if that's true?  (See completist self-proclamation above LOL!)  I was wondering if maybe it was a promo or custom or something...heaven help me if its actually real!  :)

Ooh intriguing! Could it be a different factory/batch thing?
My Robecca's penguin has a black backpack. What does it usually have?

Mine also has black, I'm curious to see if anyone has gotten a gold one...
our penguin has a gold backpack.
My penguin's backback is the same color as his/her body.  The only painted parts are the eyes and the beak.  Oversights or more laziness on Mattel's part?  Hmmm....   :hmm:

Huh. So the mystery continues. I still wonder which one is the more common of the two. I'll check in the morning, but I'm not sure if the backpack is painted or the plastic itself is actually black. Curiouser and curiouser...

For those with the gold unpainted backpack, what store did you get them from?  I'm wondering if its certain retailers or a running production change or ???

Definitely curious!

I started out being all like "only the ones I like" but that didn't last too long...I started liking them all!  I'm also a completist, so I wasn't shocked when I started down this path that it turned into "all or nothing."

Wow was off the boards for a couple weeks and I had soooo much catching up to do.

Starting with something kinda oldish- I picked up 2 powder room sets with LaLa and noticed that she had different colored earrings.  One set was yellow and the other pink.  So I'm thinking its like some of the mlp accessories where its luck of the draw what you actually get.

My fave character is Abbey, and least favorite of everything is DotD Frankie.  I just can't like that outfit!  Also not a huge fan of Lala's in general.

Venus and Robecca have started showing up better around me, don't give up yet!

Bigger than Enchanted Kingdom, smaller than FSF.  I wish they would do a sale or something to get the line started, because I'm really stuck on the price point as of right now.  I'm cheap, what can I say LOL!

The Dollhouse / MH plushies
« on: July 31, 2012, 08:53:55 AM »
Hi all, I'm looking for some of the plushies.  Hoping to find someone that still has them at Target clearance.

Draculaura
Frankie
Deuce

Please PM me if you can help me find them!!! :worshippy:

ETA: I can pick up new stuff for you if you'd rather do a full/partial trade - Ghouls Rule, Roller Maze (including 2pk), SS 5pk, new DT, and if you have patience Venus/RoRo and ST (they just started showing up this last week, so its hit or miss on them right now)

Does anybody's Target still have clearance plushies?  I managed to snag all but Deuce, Frankie, and Draculaura.  If someone could pick them up for me I'd be happy to return the favor with new stuff.

I want to say they were $15, but I could be wrong.  I looked at a lot of new stuff, so all the prices are kinda running together in my head.

I found them at Target.  I only check MLP and Monster High aisles, so check there!

The heads are a little funny, but they're articulated so you can pose them, I guess it's a trade off.  I think its really cool that the hair is interchangeable.  Octocorn I agree about the carousel, it looks neat.  I didn't see it out shopping, just the additional fashion packs.

Saw these while out shopping today, and I think I'm going to cave.  They remind me a lot of FSF or Enchanted Kingdom horses.  Has anyone bought one yet?

I hadn't read this thread and placed 3 orders yesterday (1 for me, and 2 for fellow collectors) and two of the orders were cancelled today.  So my guess is they will have another group to sell, its just a question of WHEN!  Not that it matters much for me, I got my 1 order in, so it looks like my friends will just have to fend for themselves unfortunately.  :(  I have a love/hate relationship with the limit, its nice they are trying to make sure no one hogs them, but some people are honestly trying to help out people....not scalp them all on ebay.  I can't believe this year has gotten so bad, I wish they'd go back to the art pony mold if it would keep all the FiM scalpers at bay.

The Dollhouse / Re: Hasbro releases new Jem dolls!
« on: July 16, 2012, 06:23:31 AM »
Did Jem sale well at the convention? I read somewhere that she sold out on the second day. However I'm not sure if my source is reliable. I'm not finding a lot of information about sales online. I love those costumes.

There have been two stories about this. 1 - Hasbro set a limit each day and sold out.  2 - That there wasn't a limit each day and she officially sold out completely some time Saturday.  It's been pretty confusing trying to figure out, but either way I'd say she was popular.  I've been trying to find out if anything was said about the line at a panel, but no luck yet.

Wow, I love her colors!  And it looks like we'll finally get a nice kitty unlike Tor and her twins in crime lol.  I'm glad the reveals were all unexpected, made for a much more enjoyable event.

......I like this concept, but if they ARE Target exclusives, I would have rather seen an expansion of the Scary Tales line rather than start up something new.

I love the superheroines.  It's not like other lines that slap another pink dress on the same doll over and over:)  I think they thought outside of the box with Spectra's face stripe, and I like that.  It's a feature that not many dolls could pull off, or doll makers for that matter.  I wonder if they have to fight to release some of these dolls the way they want, from the sales point of view.  Anyway.  I would have LOVED a Scary Tales expansion, but who knows, maybe those are in the works too:)

Also, I'd like to say, I'm so so so glad that the reveals at CC are new and not anything from the recently leaked photos.  I was sad that nothing would be a surprise, and new and exciting this year.  I was wrong.  And I'm glad.

I'm kind of thinking Mattel WANTED original characters, like Dead Fast, b/c they do a lot of crossovers with Polly Pockets and Barbie as DC superheroes.  Not to mention they do the DC Universe toys, so I'm sure they could have secured a licensing agreement if that's what they wanted.

Not sure what I would have liked better, original or DC...I like both ideas, and Ghoulia definitely needed some friends to help in the crime fighting area.

I'm glad there's new stuff too, can't wait to see the next reveal!!!

Yeah, good and bad employees aside, I never trust my hunting to a phone call simply b/c I know what I'm after b/c I collect it, they probably don't and as a result are less likely to know "EXACTLY" what I'm talking about.  Fun story, just the other night at Walmart, my checker was like "Monster High...I've never heard of that.  (Then next checker over) Oh my granddaughter LOVES those!  I just bought her the cotton candy one for her birthday, and she has the one that you put in the slime container too!"  It was really sweet, they asked me if it was a gift or collecting, and they were very sweet, but obviously not that "into" the toys lol.
