Radiance - I agree, its a lifestyle not a hobby. when we first got married and bought our house, we were SO broke, that I had to put Domino out on loan for a year. It broke my heart. And I just couldnt function without a horse, so i ended up working for free at local riding school at weekends and in return they let me have one of their difficult horses to look after and ride for free. Otherwise, i just woke up every morning feeling so miserable with no horse to look after   Beautiful photo!

Has no one ever been tempted to dress their own horse up as an MLP then? I have entered Domino in fancy dress competitions as Blossom before   Lots of lilac ribbon and cut out flowers stuck on his bum!!  I have see the most gorgeous "unicorn horns" for your horse to wear (they are on a brow band)  I am very tempted!!

lol i acutaly used to have horses most of my life! lol  bfore i could walk   i was sat in a saddle i have an old picutre soemwhere of me   being i thik  1  and  put on the back of  an  OLD very  small  shetland nad being held on  as i was  led around lol

I did as a child.  We had a farm, with lots of land to ride on, so it would have been a good environment for a horse. 

I don't now, for multiple reasons.  I live in the city, and I know I wouldn't have enough time to go out and ride and care for a horse each day.  I also don't want to spend such a large portion of my income on one.  I go trail riding from time to time, but right now my lifestyle isn't condusive to having my own horse.

Well I don't like ponies but horse yes! I have four though and will fall in with they are some expensive "my little ponies".  I'm about to cut my number down to two in the spring.  I def find myself far more in love with real equines than plastic toy horses( of course I know other people like their plastic guys better so to each their own). I raised DSP (mare in my dp), got her when she was six months old and now she is 15 years. My gelding I've had since he was five. It's a far different road than the non breathing ones. Least the plastic guys don't need to see a vet I guess. Lol

I've always wanted a horse and we're looking into get one (or two) once we buy a house and resettle our finances, hopefully in a year or so.  I'd ideally like to adopt off-the-track racehorses as I've worked with them in the past and they are just lovely, smart critters.

If we ever had a child and he or she wanted to ride, I would buy a pony, but a large enough pony that it wouldn't be outgrown (mainly because I am small enough to ride a large pony, so if the child lost interest, I could ride it!)
