Going to count up my points.. 28 so far. Not as bad as I'd thought. :whoa:

Just checked weight on regular, dinosaurus scales (they're so old and tempermental) and apparently the wii was right. Hmm, this doesn't make sense to me.. I've got two days until my next clinic (thurs) so we'll see what happens between now and then. I'll do the challenge during the week. ^.^

Okay, epic fail on the eating tonight.  I ate about half a block of chocolate :(

One point for exercise.

Aww Kiwi!! Don't beat yourself up over it - you are doing such a great job, and I can't believe how much weight you have lost!! I binged yesterday too.... oops. Grainwaves were on special at the supermarket, and I bought some, having not had them in YEARS and thinking the kids might like to try them.  Well.... temptation got the better of me, and one grainwave turned into two, into three, and then maybe a couple of handfuls... And that was before I snatched a chunk of choc, and ate a cookie baked from the weekend... oh dear... that was NOT a good afternoon! And a short time later, I logged on to see surfstars new challenge, about thinking about WHY I am doing this! OMG GUILT FACTOR!!!

So yeah... I made sure I definitely did my exercises last night!!

You'll do better today, you're totally awesome! :)

Shoot shoot shoot! I had a lice scare all day yesterday and didn't have time to post my last part of the challenge before.

Gosh I so lost track of my points, you guys. I'm pretty sure I'm at 24 because while my friends were here I only got one point every day and it was always for exercise. After they left I struggled to get back to healthy habits. I'm determined to have a two point day today!

Well, you're always welcome to do the challenges late. So no worries there! I'm sorry you had a bit of a scare, I hated it when that happened to me! It was always the worst when I was working with kiddo's.

 I'm glad it was just a scare rather than a full blown issue!

I'm behind on this thread, but I did join the gym. :) I like how the environment is very relaxed and there's not that constant pressure to buy supplements, products, & pay for personal trainers like I experienced at gyms in the past. The equipment is great too, with tvs & ipod hookups at every cardio machine (which helps keep my mind off the time). I've been eating right & doing my exercise... I've worked a 30-60 minute workout the last 3 days & boy, am I feeling it! So sore. I'm not pushing myself too hard though, because I don't want to burn out. If I keep with it, I should be seeing some changes in my body soon. I finished last week's challenge although I didn't get to post my last 3 things here, I still told them to myself. :satisfied: I've started this week's with breakfast. So far so good.  ^.^

Congrats on joining the gym! I'm glad that it's a pretty relaxed gym so you're not feeling the pressure you might have felt.

Yay! For keeping up with eating right and getting in some regular exercise. I think going slow is great! I'm glad that you did the challenge, even if you didn't post about it! Posting is not a requirement :)

 Awesome job!

I totally lost track over the weekend because I was dealt a pretty crushing blow with my job and I sought some comfort in food. I did, however, walk a mile on Saturday and yesterday I played 40 minutes of tennis.

I don't know what my points are now..

 I had that happen to me twice last time. That's why I started keeping a journal to make things easier if I needed to recounts. I'm sorry you're having a rough time at your job and as I told kiwi, as long as you know you're eating for comfort and keep it within limits... well sometimes we just need something to help ourselves feel better.

I'm glad you've been pretty active too :) Great job!

I am debating my points for the day....I know I will go home and work out and play the piano...but food has me questioning....
Pop Tarts for breakfast and a cup of coffee...this is a norm for me. I have to eat breakfast...I just do not function...it switches for cereal, eggs, ect. To me cals at breakfast are not an issue...I have all day to burn them if need be:) I just want to make sure I have energy to burn cals that I need to.
So now on to lunch...I normally have tea and a sandwich...never have any issue with this...but today I was hungry...so I drank water...still hunger and it was before lunch....so I went out and got an egg roll and a crabragoon...love those things....not the healthiest option for me but I craved it. I did not buy extra candy or food so I am very proud of myself about that...I didnt even think about it until I typed:) My cals will be at the mark for me with this extra treat...but not sure if its a treat that I took and want to break habit of...or keepping a hungry girl from being crazy:P

:) Good job! I think you're doing a good job overall, I would perhaps take a look at the quality of what you're eating so that way you'll stay satisfied longer. Overall though, I think you're doing good. Each day will be different, if you're a little hungry then I would say eat just a bit extra. If you're not already, I would suggest tracking your calories through My Fitness Pal or Calorie Count, since if you're more active you need to eat a bit more to balance it all out.

Thank you.  I came here feeling pretty rotten this morning but you have helped cheer me up a little.  Today is a new day - and it's not like I put 7kgs back on last night.

Definitely no need to feel rotten. :) You're doing so awesome! I'm glad I could help cheer you up, even if it was just a little.

I wanted to share something with everyone...positive affirmation. It is what I do for pageants and coaching in competitions. If you tell yourself something is true and you believe it ...it is true. A common phrase is "Call a man a thief and watch him steal," That why I started doing the good things about me...I need to give myself a positive to stay positive. So if you call yourself beautiful...each day you will start to believe it...and soon you will be beautiful because you will see what other see around you:)

I agree with this. I think that thinking positive things about ourselves definitely is very helpful. As you said, sometimes this can take an awfully long time, but in time you will start to believe it.

One of my psychology teachers calls it: Faking it until you make it..

Basically, if you start acting the way you want to, eventually the behavior becomes genuine. I think that this is true with positive affirmation as well.

The lice did turn into a full blown issue  I'll write about it in WYP.

I only get one point today. Kind of like, half a point for each area I guess lol. I made the best attempts I could, given the super high stress today, but even that can't excuse bad eating entirely, and I was too mentally pooped to do much of anything physical but I did pull off crow pose today for longer than ever so I was pretty stoked about that. Normally I can only hold it for like a second because I don't have the balance, but I got it this time. Yay. I have no energy to be excited though ;-;

Aww, thanks Marlin

There must have been something in the air yesterday. I'm just like you in that when I blow it, I blow it big time.  LOL.  At least I ate the chocolate slowly and enjoyed it.  I think a certain time of the month is coming up, which might explain my temporary insanity.

Today has been much better.  I went for a huge walk up one of the steepest hills I could find and I've been eating well again too :)

So, I only have 19 points right now ...I just am not getting motivated.  The biggest thing is motivating to exercise.  Food is ok, not exactly where I want it to be but ok.  I just don't want to exercise.  I really would like to go horseback riding but it has been so hot :hot: and humid here and my horse has bruising on her soles I am dealing with.  Not to mention she looks absolutely wilted from the heat.  I will be going for sure on Saturday but ggrrrrrr :stressed:.  There, that is just how I feel about exercising right now lol.  I really should go clean stalls.  That is a work out in itself but once again,  :hot:

What gets you guys to exercise, what do you like to do?  I have been trying to follow the thread to see how people are doing their eating and exercising but am having trouble with that.  Also, here are some of my favorite recipes from Taste of Home I thought people might be interested in.

I am determined to have a 2 point day today! After work I'm going to work out with my sister in law. Tuesday is cardio day so I'll definitely earn my exercise point. The day after tomorrow I'm leaving for the Fair. I can't wait! I really need this vacation!

Challenge time! I've done it slightly differently, as I can't ask myself 'why'.. The simple reason is that I'll die if I don't, or I'll be hospitalised again.

I just had my cereal slightly early, because I've missed two ensures and I've done a looot of walking at the college today. It was kind of a 'just get it down as quickly as possible' sentiment, although now I feel rather sick and a bit.. uneasy? Like it just doesn't feel right, and I'm nervy because it wasn't a multiple of three and that's how I manage my intake. Because of college scheduling I couldn't have the ensure I did have on a multiple of three either, which also threw me off. Luckily, I was with a lovely friend of mine and we had a long catchup.. so that distracted me fairly well.

It makes me feel really uncomfortable when I can't stick to my times. And I know that it interferes and interrupts normal life, because everything has to be 'dead on' and it's like it dominates time, sometimes. How to overcome this? I'm not overly sure. Maybe if my specialist and I identify the need for irrational rituals we'll be able to think of something.

For this week, I'd like everyone to take a minute before they eat or exercise and ask why they are doing it? Is it because you're hungry, avoiding something? Feeding a craving?

This is a great challenge. :D I've come to realize that I honestly don't usually eat because I'm hungry. I eat to avoid the (eventual) hunger pangs that happen to occur shortly before dinner, and then make me eat way too much at said dinner. I only eat twice a day, which I know isn't particularly good, but I'm just oddly not a hungry person (unless it comes to sweets, my biggest downfall). Maybe I'm hungry and just don't realize it?

Haven't exercised yet today. Man, the heat is so bad. I'll just have to do something in the house, probably with a good tv distraction. :lookround:

Thankfully on July 4th I'm going to my BF's aunts house, she has a pool. I stay in it nearly the whole day. The water resistance is great for exercise.

Sorry for going MIA guys! I got really busy trying to find a house to rent (still haven't found one!) then was out of town longer than expected for a funeral, then busy again >.< Here is my updated log:

June 24 - 1 point, stuck to diet but didn't exercise at all

June 25 - 2 point, stuck to diet and got a lot of exercise

June 26 - 2 points, stuck to diet and got some light exercise

June 27 - can I give myself negative points?! I had 4 muffins. I felt horrible the next morning!

June 28 - 2 points, ran around the city looking for houses, stuck to diet

June 29 - 1 point, no exercise but stuck to diet

June 30 - 1 point, no exercise (heat wave!) but stuck to diet

July 1 - 1 point, no exercise (heat wave!) but stuck to diet

July 2 - 1 point, no exercise (heat wave!) but stuck to diet

And I completely missed out on what the weekly challenge was last week. The heat wave here is really making it difficult to exercise safely. It was over 95 degrees here yesterday and that is simply too hot for most Minnesotans to handle easily. And it hasn't been cooling off after dark, which would be my next best plan. I guess I have to suck it up and exercise in a gym if this continues >.<

I do have some good news - I am visibly smaller! Especially around my butt :) Still working on those thighs and tummy, but the weight shifting that is already happening is really encouraging for me.

Also - Macy's is having a big 4th of July sale + lots of clearance items in their workout gear section + my Macy's card gave me an extra 15% off so I bought lots of workout clothes yesterday! All top of the line Nike Dri-Fit for 60-75% off retail :)
