I'm bummed out, I like Zecora, but I dunno if I wanna shell out $35 for her.  Man, why did she have to be more expensive than the others AND online-exclusive?

I don't know if there's any truth to this, but I heard a rumor that an employee said that if Zecora sells well enough online, they'll bring her to stores. Which is what I'm holding out for. BaB's site is ridiculously finicky and I can't stand Fedex Smartpost. I only order from there as a last resort so I hope it's true.  :(

Too bad their Facebook staff is keen on not telling anyone anything.

It was hard to pick. I like plush and I like brushables...so I guess the brushable plush like the BaBs are my favorite kind of thing.

Honestly, I thought that looked like they too a stock image of the Funko Rainbow Dash
like this one:

then flipped it, and edited it in there. It doesn't even look like the guy is really holding it.

Not sure how well it works on extreme tangles, but I use a spray bottle with water and one teaspoon of fabric softener in it. I mist the hair with the mix and then comb it out in small sections with a fine comb. That's gotten all my BAB ponies' hair nice and neat.

I'm also all for the questions above about more brushables that aren't the Mane 6.

But I'd also like to know if there's any plans to re-release some of the previous non-Mane 6 G4 brushables?

I got into G4 too late and now I can't find anything but Mane 6 in stores.

That's really sad. I've always thought it was. I used to know a few people who did stuff like this(One took Magic cards the other stole clothes from their workplace) so I asked them why they do it even though they could afford it. They told me it's not about the item itself. It's about the thrill of getting away with it. And on top of that, stealing $2 figures from WalMart here gets you a slap on the wrist unless they catch you doing it all the time.

if they're gonna give us a mane-iac pony at that price point she should have at least been a brushable FS pony, or have SLH. but sadly hasbro can't do that cuz apparently they only know how to cater to bronies who must be terrified by the thought of having a toy with brushable hair. I mean, god forbid they have something girly in their collection! /sarcasm

Honestly, that seems to be the case. At least it is on EQD. Every time they get posted, you get more than a handful going "Ew, brushable. Do not want." or "Molded manes are better." or "It's too girly because of the hair."  -_- Like...really? You're into colorful ponies and THAT'S where you guys draw the line? Alrighty, then.

I was hoping for a FS this year. I won't be getting this. I like molded manes when done right...but not tentacle hair. And this is coming from (what looks like) the only person here that liked DJ.

I liked DJ too. Considering she had this light function, was as tall as a fashion style pony and had swarovski elements, i think she was worth her price a lot more than this thing.

At least I wasn't the only one then! I always figured that DJ was $50 because of the swarovski elements and the lights. But I guess not since this set is $50 too. I feel that DJ was worth her price more for the same reasons.

I checked 4 Walmarts around Easter and never found one. My local Walmart has like 7 DJs, 2 Cheerilees, and 2 Trixies. I really want her too, but only for retail price.

Pony Corral / Re: Do you feel uneasy when you buy ponies?
« on: June 05, 2014, 11:52:42 PM »
I totally don't care at all when I'm out buying toys. It's what I enjoy! Though at first I did feel uneasy about it. I was a huge tomboy growing up and the thought of ponies back then would've made me go "ew!" along with the entire pink aisle, so it was strange to be shopping there for the first time, but I got used to it. I haven't ever actually been judged for it.

Though cashiers can occasionally catch you off-guard! I was buying some ponies from a small toy store with my boyfriend in San Francisco one time, and there was a really sweet older lady working the register. I'm very young looking(most tend to guess me at around 15-16) but she gave me the nicest smile when we went up and in such a calm voice she asked us "Oh, how nice. Is this for your daughter?" And I just couldn't help cracking a smile! I totally did not see that coming  So I told her "We're not quite old enough for that yet!" So she finishes ringing me up and tells me "That's good! Enjoy being young!" That's the strangest I've ever felt while buying ponies. Never thought anyone would ask me that at my age!

« on: May 31, 2014, 06:39:16 PM »
I tried playing it with my boyfriend once, he got it easily and I am still lost!  I definitely prefer the trading cards instead! There's nothing to learn about those, so I can just enjoy collecting them.

Pony Corral / Re: The truth behind the 12 inch Chinese Plushies

Companies like Frontwinner really tick me off... why? Because Hasbro sent me a C&D on Etsy for 4 pony plushies I made and I nearly lost my etsy shops over it. Yet companies like this make and sell hundreds if not thousands of them... and nope. Nothing. Bah.

As for the whole ""It will be much harder for the plushies creators to sell their overpriced stuff."... people who believe that have no idea what it takes to make a custom made OOAK plushie and have no right to squawk.

Are you positive it was Hasbro? I've heard of people going around reporting things on websites claiming to be Hasbro, and the site just rolls with it. Sorry that happened to you though. I just find it odd since I've only ever heard of one other person getting a real Hasbro C&D.

It was one of Hasbro's Legal representatives. I was skeptical too until I researched the name, and found out that yes, in fact it was one of their hired legal eagles who specialize in trademarks and copyrights. Honestly I'm far from the only person to get nailed on Etsy, I've talked quite a few artists on DA and Etsy and others have been taken down for the same (or similar) thing. I kept the emails in my records, it was the same on both of my etsy stores. :\

I get why they do it, really, I do. I just got bugged that a small time itty bitty seller like me gets a banhammer and companies like the above blatantly rip of fan artists, make and sell hundreds of plushies, and yet Hasbro either can't, or doesn't stop them. :\

That makes me wonder what makes them pick someone to C&D then. I wonder if that means eBay is really the only site "safe" for selling then since they can be fickle about listening to reports. I hear about etsy taking down more accounts in other fandoms than ebay does. But even etsy is starting to get bootleg plush listings and yet like you said, no one does anything about it.

I'm defnitely excited for these! I want a full set of them. Too bad I won't be able to find them in stores though. Wish the usual places like Target and Walmart were getting them. Unless they are and I missed that.  :P

My only nitpick is the lack of blue and purple in RD's hair. That always gets me because I love her full rainbow mane.

Given the whole "don't take candy from strangers" thing, most people probably would be weirded out by random people giving their kids goodie bags. I think would, and I don't even have kids.

Seconding the "don't take candy from strangers" thing. As a kid, my mother would've NEVER allowed me to eat candy from a random group of people. No matter how well-intentioned they were. It sets kids up for disappointment when their parents will just throw the candy away to be on the safe side. Allergies aside, toys seem like the safer choice.
