As I think more about starting the FB group dedicated to oozing/glue sepage problems, I wonder one thing....would Mattel think of it as "slander" and want to sue?

I'm almost thinking of starting a FaceBook group focussing on those who have the glue/oozing problem.....maybe Mattel would take notice then?

I, too, think its big BS that there's no other complaints about this issue....I've emailed the lady from Mattel back and told her about the phone call. I will make sure something will be noted..... when it comes to trying get answers from a business or whatever, I'm like that bad pimple that nevers goes away....I keep coming back!  :P

Okay, just got off the phone with Mattel.....I wanted to talk to the woman who emailed me but the guy said there's no way to transfer to her and he can help me......

We went through the 7 known dolls that have the glue problem.....he did each case individually and is sending me labels to send them all back if I choose to.....this makes me sick to my stomach since most are wave1!!!! I told him that I would have to talk to my daughter to let her know our options....I mean, a cood chunk of her collection would be gone.....and how would I even get wave 1 back again? He was very nice and said I can take up to 30 days to decide and that he understands.....

I told him that my main concern was, is the problem going to be investigated (he actual said that there hasn't been any complaints on the glue issue....I told him its a huge problem and people on message boards talk about it daily). He seem surprised.....So guys, start emailing Matell!!! ;)  I gave my opinion on what's happening with the glue and what are using to try get rid of the problem.

Geez, would you send 7 dolls to them? I just want Mattel to look at other ways in hairing the dolls cause what they're doing now, isn't working!

It's true that things like boiling and such to the doll's head would set off the glue sepage but our dolls (most of wave 1 and Rochelle) hair have never been styled with heat in any way....it just happened....I feel bad for my daughter cause she often checks for the glue.....she just goes with it though....it's more me as I don't think kids should have to be playing with greasy-like dolls..... I mean, we really have no idea what kind of glue it is.....I know its non-toxic but still.

As soon as I told Mattel about poeple having to buy products like Goof off and Twin Pines to try to get the glue off, they sent another email requesting me to call asap! I feel bad for complaining as they have been great with the customer service .......but someone's gotta get to the bottom of this darn glue thing! LOL! For me, I love these dolls, but its for my daughter who plays with them.....and she (nor any child) should have to play with them, greasy in all! :P

Re Scarah & shipping: Matty only gave me one option when I put in my order...I paid $8 shipping for two dolls and they got here in 14 days (Canada).

I had a dream last night that my Matty order came today and guess what? It did!!!

....and Sweetscoops, I agree with you 100%, SDCC Ghoulia, IMO, is the coolest of all three SDCC dolls!

I complained about Spectra's legs myself, included a photo and all the information they could need and they granted me a $18 voucher for use in-store for any Mattel/Fisher Price item. All hope isn't lost for Pickle! ;A;
I just know that out there is a bunch of scalpers with fake "issues" getting free toys.. :/

I also got a voucher from Mattel cause our Wave 1 Clawdeen's legs fell off...the elastic thingy got weak and broke....and my daughter is very careful with her MH dolls ....gotta find the tutorial for fixing those legs!

OMG! Amazing find :D Where in Canada are you? (So I can stalk your VV :D Mine barely even have toys most of the time)

That information is classified.... LOL!

I was thinking the same thing gustystar.....if a doll is your kid's role model, then maybe the parents need to take a closer look at themselves or whoever is in their lives....and I totally agree with that the blogger clogged the child's mind with unneccessary mature subjects that probably could be discussed probably at a more appropiate age.....adults need to let their kids be just that, kids!

Wow...I briefly went through some of that blog's posts from that lady on other Mattel dolls, and she's on a "book burning" kick on any toy it seems....she pushed the ideas of MH or should I say, almost any other doll out there, as hooker, smoking, skinny dolls that are evil, onto her daughter. Then her daughter turns around and repeats the stuff to other adults and the mom praises her up & down and then tells the world about it. To me, she's judging the book by its cover.....it seems she hasn't even looked into depth, what the whole MH thing is about.... to me, that woman is pretty much thinking all Disney toys are evil (I may be exaggerating here).....

She spends a lot of time writing multiple articles to Mattel on how much she hates their products.....which she has a right to, but really, sounds like she has an indepth personal issue that she should deal with instead of brainwashing her kids. My take on it is, if your child is self assured/confident and knows right from wrong, a doll isn't gonna make them into rebels....really, why does a 6yr old need to know about sexualization or what a hooker is at that age? Sounds like the mom needs to prove to others what a good mom is and shows everyone when her little girl talks about dolls being inappropriate and all evil like. Kind of creepy IMO.

My daughter is the same age as the blogger's and in no way does my daughter see MH as what the lady is preaching. My daughter has her own thoughts and tells me that MH is about being unique, accepting others for who they are, how working together helps solve problems and how its good to be kind to others and not to be a bully. In no way have I planted anything into her mind that the dolls are inappropriate, look like hookers or are evil. The blogger's daughter's views are of her mother's and is just repeating what she's been told.

I usually don't bother with nonsense on blogs (IMO) but I feel that this woman is definitely judging the book by it's cover here and is not fully informed on what MH stands for.

I so wanted to leave my comments on that lady's blog but decided to refrain from doing so.....not to mention, I didn't want her to have my email address.....

IMO, in today's society, people are quick to blame someone else for things, whether it's a hot coffee that they just spilt on themselves from a coffee shop, a child wanting something thing that the parent thinks is inappropiate, or someone gaining wieght from eating at McD's often.....they blame the companies.....what about self control? They have the power to decide for themselves to engage in a behaviour or not.....they have the power to say 'no' to their child.....they need to take responsibilty for themselves....and to educate on products they buy (ie, mom's suing Nutella cause it's not as healthy as they thought and they fed it to their kids~ WT?).....

In regards to MH....would the parents have the same attitude towards the dolls if they read the books, & watched the shows? Do they know that MH is a partner in the "Kind Campaign"? They would see that they support individuality, accepting others for who they are and their differences which makes the unique.....and how these things are important in friendships and working together? The concept of MH goes beyond the fashion and skinny bodies.....maybe these parents need to look beyond the exterior of things and dig a little deeper within themselves.

As a parent, I fully support MH and think this whole monster thing totally rocks! I'm happy my daughter loves them and sees the characters beyond the clothes and waist lines.
