Pony Corral / New Soarin brushable - ball-jointed wings!
« on: April 06, 2018, 03:37:36 PM »
Apologies if this is old news - I can't find a similar thread so forgive me if this has been posted before

So Tesco had the new Storytime brushables in today (Soarin, Bonbon, AppleJack, Rarity and Twilight, I think was the wave, I don't remember seeing any other ponies), and they were £3.75 so I sprung for Soarin because I lovelovelove that boy pegasus mold!

I got him home and opened him up and...ohmygoshohmygoshohmyGOSH

What's this cheeky boy?

He's ball-jointed! The wings have really good articulation meaning you have more than just the standard pose!

He's so gorgeous! I didn't check the others to see if they have anything similar, or if they're just solid like Twilight is. Wave B seems to be BigMac, DJ Pon-3, Starlight Glimmer, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy (going by the leaflet included), but  it's hard to tell if Rainbow or Fluttershy have articulated wings

Bonus:  BigMac in the leaflet has long hair!

Trader & Shipping Support / Request Total [Ebay] Issue
« on: April 12, 2016, 10:30:55 AM »
Hi hi! Just a quick one, (non-pony, sorry!) I purchased a quantity of items from a seller and asked for the seller to provide a new total for combined postage, thing is, Ebay is prompting me to pay now, and I can't see that, aside the confirmation page on the App, that the request has gone through. Is this normal, or has the App goofed and the seller has no idea I'm waiting for the new postage total?

I really don't like the App lol

Pony Corral / New! Ponymania in UK TRU
« on: September 27, 2015, 07:05:00 AM »
I had a £10 voucher due to expire and as Argos can't decide if they actually have the Power Ponies in stock or not I decided to visit TRU as we were passing and boy I was not disappointed!

Loook!

This is the first time the UK has got one of the "Favourites Collection"s  It was actually much cheaper than I had expected (especially given TRU's love of marking up their exclusives) - £30. Sadly no sign of Maud Pie or Daring Do :<

Pony Corral / New items in ASDA inc. Apple Family blind bags!
« on: August 22, 2015, 10:45:53 AM »
We went up to IKEA in Milton Keynes today and stopped at ASDA on the way home and boy, seems like they have all the new things!

They had the Twilight and Flash Sentry doll pack (£25)

The Button Belle/Rarity and breezies sets (£10)

The new CMM brushables (no price but I assume £5), Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie and AJ.

Aaaand the new Friendship is Magic blind bag sets, which are apparently ASDA exclusives (why are all the exclusives at the stores that are miles away from me? ) . They were not priced.

Sooo I was browsing to see if The Entertainer had listed anything new, and they had! Well, kind of:

http://www.thetoyshop.com/My-Little-Pony/My-Little-Pony-Pink-and-Fabulous-Pinkie-Pie-Pony/p/521854

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

...Huh. This line was originally exclusive to TRU (who kindly jacked the prices right up, this particular pony was originally £21.99 at Toys R Us. Scalpers.), but the Equestria Girls doll ended up exclusive to Sainsburys (who seem to like having exclusive toys and then never putting them on shelves, lookin' at you, Cadence and Shining Armour FS set).

It's interesting, and I wonder if the next Target exclusives might end up in The Entertainer over TRU? I hope so; their prices are much kinder to my wallet...

Trader & Shipping Support / Tips and Advice for a Newbie seller?
« on: January 10, 2015, 08:49:29 AM »
Hi hi! I grabbed a couple of Holly Dashes today to sell or trade to people who can't get them in their countries, but as I've never really sold much before, and haven't traded, I just wanted to ask a few questions -

Are partial trades common? So if I put an item on my trade list that is of a higher value I would make up the difference with money, etc.

I'm willing to accept trades OR direct sales, which forum do I post it in?

And...shipping. What's the customs form etiquette for a trade as, obviously, no money has changed hands and all!

I'd really like to help out those that can't get her, but it's a lil intimidating, especially given all the problems you hear about

Pony Brag Arena / Private Christmas Swap with Cyberunicorn!
« on: January 05, 2015, 11:53:47 AM »
Last year Cyberunicorn and I did a private Christmas Swap, my first ever, and when she posted looking for a partner again this year I jumped at the chance  I really hope we can make it some sort of tradition

We decided on a budget of around £20 total with a Pokemon theme. Here is the awesome package she sent me! I really have a lot to learn about wrapping swap boxes  this beauty was hidden in an unassuming brown-papered box. Just wow!

So many presents! So many sweeties!  Aaaah. I opened some right away (On Christmas Day), and some later in the evening (hence the changes in lighting  ;) ) I LOVE that bauble sign so much <3

First, the ponies! I have no idea what magic or witchcraft Cyberunicorn used to get these gals in such gorgeous condition but Oh my word they are SO minty <3 Their manes are perfectly sillllky (and after the recent waves of dry-haired G4s it's a wonderful change lol ) All those rainbow manes and glittered symbols, ah!  :inlove: I could stroke them all day!

I didn't realise Cotton Candy was so PINK. The photos really don't do her, or the others, justice
Next was a plush Octavia! I'd actually been planning on getting her sometime but whenever I find these plushes Octavia is usually gone  Her fur is so soft <3

A Gilda necklace! I love Gilda (even if she is a meanie in her episode)~ Griffins are my favourite mythical creature and it's a shame they don't get more love in MLP  :P

Pony wall stickers! My laptop might be finding itself getting a make-over soon (my walls have that textured paper on them so I don't think they'd stick too well :( )

Temporary tattoos! Aha, these are so cute~ I only just noticed one of them is the wrong way around

A set of Santa Russian dolls! I'm sure I took a photo of these on my desk but I can't find it >.< The decorations got put back in the loft at the weekend, too  Sorry! I totally loved them, though! I don't know where you find these things, Cyber, but Aaaah!

There was this cute snowflake bauble, too! It goes perfectly with some blue ones I bought this year, too <3

Now onto the Pokemon part!

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

These are so, so cute! I don't know whether to use them as decorations or keyrings xD Maybe both? One of them is going on my bag...when I can work out which one...

And lastly, the sweeties!

So much! Ahaha, how did you know the green triangle was my favourite Quality Street chocolate? The orange ones are so good, too! It's been ages since I saw those jelly character lollies, too. I used to love them as a kid and I can't wait to eat those ones <3 (I have soooo many chocolates and sweets now, though, it'll prolly last me until next Christmas ahahah)..

Overall...wow. Just wow. Once again I got totally spoiled! Thank you so, so much, Cyberunicorn, and I really hope that we can continue this in December :D

Pony Corral / Honey Rays FOUND (+ Pinkie Pie plush speaker)
« on: December 13, 2014, 09:09:08 AM »
There's a little department store in the city I live in that always seems to get pony stock super early (they only have a small toy department so I guess they tend to only order a few things at a time, so by the time they sell out the next waves are available?) Anyway, I went in today and they had the new Cutie Mark Magic ...melty...glittery..wing....things, for £9.99:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

(Sorry for the bad photo, it was really busy in there so I could only snap one photo. I didn't buy her as £10 is too much for one brushable.)
They had Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy as well. I didn't check to see if they had any other characters as I spied an unopened box of W11 blind bags (alas, split into two sets for us again), and had to nab the ones I wanted xD

I also found this...odd and deranged looking thing in a stationary shop:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

It's an MP3 speaker and was £25 (ouch). I've never seen it before so I thought it was pretty interesting!

ETA: The Entertainer's website has listed the Charm Wings brushables too. They're in stock and £10 :) They've also listed the new snowglobe brushables (Diamond Mint, etc) as "coming soon".

Pony Corral / G1 merch found at Sainsburys

I found these at Sainsburys today on a stand for stocking-filler type items. They also had temporary tattoos in the same style :)

I was tempted by the coin purse but didn't really want to spend £4 on something that's going to get all gross with money

Welp. I need that Celestia one. I thought I could resist the POP ones. I was wrong.

Pony Corral / Ponymania at UK TRU
« on: September 01, 2014, 07:36:42 AM »
So I went into Toys R Us today to see if they had anything new, and there was a box sat by the pony aisle end that said "MLP QUEEN CRYSALIS". The employee putting the boxes onto the shop floor stopped to ask if I needed anything and I asked what was in the box, so she opened it for me to reveal:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

!!! There is nothing on the box to suggest it's a TRU exclusive, there also was no shelf price and as I don't really like the big talking ponies I didn't bother asking. I went back a lil later and there was a box with an "EQG PLAYSET" (I assume the big, expensive stage), but nothing else. The employee said she didn't know if there were any other pony items on the lorry and I couldn't stick around any longer, sadly.

I also found these by the checkouts: (again no shelf price)

I've never seen any of the comic stuff before. Anyone know if these are any good? I was tempted, but TRU is usually very, very expensive, and there were no staff around to ask  -_-

Customs / Do you feel guilty about baiting a pony?
« on: July 11, 2014, 05:36:16 PM »
So...I bought some cheap G4s off Ebay (CE tinsel AJ and Rainbow Dash, so two super common and not sought after ponies/variants) with the idea of baiting them to begin practising my customising skills on them. I have a spare non-tinsel Dash and Pinkie Pie, too, that I plan to use at some point.

Thing is...they're in great condition, so I feel a lil bad for planning to rip out their hair and clean off their decals (also anyone that's seen The Lego Movie, it reminds me of
Spoiler
the scene where Good Cop's face is erased :(
).

Anyone else get this?

Pony Brag Arena / Canada vacation brag!
« on: July 10, 2014, 01:21:00 PM »
Sooo as I was finally done with university and had had only silence or rejections for internships and jobs, I finally went to Canada to stay with a longterm internet friend and of course I bought a load of ponies :D I didn't buy any store exclusives, largely because the Through the Mirror and PPB lines are kinda boring and I already bought glitter Pinkie and Wysteria loose a while ago  . The TRU exclusives are okay, but the Favourites set was waaaay too big, and I only really want Crysalis, Dizzy, and maybe Lyra for my army so it seemed a waste. Sadly they didn't get in Photo Finish before I left, either, but my friend is coming to the UK next year so she's getting a Paypal deposit and a list :lmao:

Here is (most of) my pony haul:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

(So glad to find Mrs. Cake! The set has had very poor stock in England, and the TRU I found her at only had one left  . Likewise with Luna - I had only seen her for £20 (about $35), but Target were liquidating their pony stock so she only cost me $11 (£6) !!)

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Not pictured:  full size Funko Lyra, Funko Mini Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash mug and hat

I got lucky, as Trixie was released just two days before I left (she's online only in the UK ugh) and the store had had a re-delivery of Scootaloo, whom I'd been unable to find back in England. I wanted AppleBloom but alas only had so much room in my suitcase (I had to leave some clothes and yarn at my friend's to keep my suitcase beneath the weight limit OTL).

Funny story: On the way home I forgot to take off my belt going through (one of these:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

. ) and it set off the metal detector. So I handed it over to one of the guards and went through again. She was staring really hard at the belt and turning it over in her hands and for one long moment I was terrified I wasn't going to get it back (the buckle is fairly heavy). She gave me a bit of a look and I think she was smirking as she handed it back but, whatever. I got it back. Yeah I'm 21 and wearing a pony belt, you should see my suitcase, lady.

We also went over the border to Massena in NY for the day and went to Walmart. Before I left my sisters gave me some money and a list of things to bring back. So. Yeah. You can prolly tell what happened next.
Spoiler

ALL THE PEANUT BUTTER OM NOM NOM

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

...I regret nothing, aside trying to fit that into the suitcase and ending up filling my carry-on luggage with poptarts (those things are heavy!). I should note this was purchased between me and my two sisters so I'm not going to be eating it all myself

Then I came home to Build-A-Bear Toothless (the store held one for a few days so my mum could get him for me as their last delivery came after I left) :D

Aaand, best of all...I got my university results back and I got first class honours in Creative Writing

I'm sad to be back in the UK, though! I wanna go back to Canada

Hi again  I'm looking into selling off a few things and I don't want to be stung by people claiming they've not received things, and I'll be selling some fairly pricey Japanese figures that I'd rather didn't go walkabout in the post. So - my question is, will "Royal Mail Signed For" postage provide enough evidence to protect me if a buyer claims they didn't receive something and takes it up with Paypal? It just says it has delivery confirmation, not tracking, so I'm unsure how well Paypal would like that. Just wanted to be sure~

Thanks guys~

Pony Corral / Tips for fixing an EqG leg?
« on: May 11, 2014, 11:57:26 AM »
Not sure if this should go in the Pony Corral or not, but as it's a doll technical thing I thought I might have more luck here.

I bought a damaged EqG doll at the weekend for 50p (instead of £13!). I couldn't leave her at the store broken and naked! Her leg has come off the joint, which is tearing in the middle (it's really hard to get a good photo of this). The joint is soft rubbery-feeling plastic and about 1cm thick (so I'm not sure breaking it off and reinforcing it with a metal pin is an option as I'm unsure how deep the joint is in the body).

So far my soft plan is to glue the tear and soften the plastic of her thigh hole enough using a hair dryer (I use this technique all the time to get errant Nendoroid parts to fit) to get it back onto the joint.

I've read a review on Amazon US that said the person had to split an EqG's leg in half along the seam to fix it but I really would rather not do this.

I've never tried to fix a doll like this before, so does anyone have any advice?

Here is Fluttershy before her bath (though I had unmatted her hair. Poor lass).
