Pony Corral / Re: Why, Hasbro!?

Right on, BlushingBlue!  Very well-written insights, and I wholeheartedly agree with it all.  :)

Al-1701, how do the Fashion Style toys differ from the small brushables in design?  Better proportions overall?  I was looking between the two and the most I noticed was that the small dolls seemed to have larger heads and smaller eyes.

Blargh!  Things are pretty much ready to go here. :D Gotta put up some signs and clean the kitchen up, and vaccuum a bit.  I think I may just turn in early and get up at the crack of dawn to finish up everything.  :P  Goodnight all!  See you tomorrow!

Aurora, I think we've got drinks covered pretty well.  Unless there's some particular favorite of yours that you want to bring for yourself - go right ahead!  And btw - the roof should be just fine!  ;)

Sorry that you're not feeling well mngusty.  :(  I hope we can make your stay as comfortable as possible tomorrow.  Looking forward to seeing you!  :D

Nor I, ponyqueen!

Whew, it's crunch time now!  I'm doing the last bits of cleaning and furniture re-arranging today, plus wrapping gifts and printing signs and name tags.  Gotta have everything set up by tonight, no exceptions!

Just letting you guys know, our house is quite WIP right now - so I hope you don't mind the unfinished paint jobs or lack of proper shades!  We're getting new windows in a month so we've taken down dressings and such.  Not a big deal, but I'm kinda sheepish about it.

I would love that ponyqueen!  I've always loved the watercolor medium, since it can be so tricky to work with.  I'd like to see how you "control" the flow and color intensity of the paint!

ponyqueen, I would love to see your originals!  They're so gorgeous!

ringlets_, I'm sorry that you can't make it!  Hopefully we'll see you next year!

Definitely BethyVic!  Better to have a surplus of tables and chairs than a shortage, in my opinion!

Not sure if I said this already, but I am going to bring some apple pie cupcakes! :good:

YUM!!   :dribble:

Got you guys down!  :)  Too bad you can't stay for too long, but it'll be great to have you!  I can relate on moving - our house became somewhat of a "dumping ground" for a great deal of things when my BF's mom moved this summer.  I'm still sorting through the clutter and planning how to sell off/donate some of the larger stuff (furniture and the like).  :P

Hey all!  I'm updating the food list from the new replies and PMs I've received.  :)

The weather is predicting high 80s and a 60% chance of rain.  I'm going to abandon the canopy rental and instead have people inside, as well as under the covered patio and attached garage space.  It will be quite similar to the layout at ponyqueen's house last year, for those who were there!  And because I'm sure it'll be muggy out, I'll have our central air cranked to keep all you peeps comfortable.  :D

Thanks for the input ponyqueen!  I have the next few days off so I can definitely check the forum daily and answer questions.  I'll update the first page info in a bit and send a mass PM to attendees to make sure everyone knows what's up and what to bring!

I've found the time to shop for the meetup lately - I've put together goodie bags for everyone (I made 30 - hopefully that will be enough!), as well as some neat raffle prizes!  Gotta get the house spiffed up as much as time allows now!

Aurora, you're welcome to use your trellises!  And unfortunately I only have a printer - no scanning/copy functions.  :(  Could you maybe email a file to me if you're typing it up?  Then we can just print however many copies we need for peeps to take home.  :)

I can PM you Sapphire Rain!

SilverGlade, how much room is there for card tables? Compared to last year, for example. I can either bring a normal-sized card table or a big ol' folding table from a church basement, or some combination of the two. I just want to be sure there's room for whatever I decide to bring! I'm ok with being outside, as long as it isn't a pouring rain. I've got pretty much everyone in plastic bags just so I don't have to keep combing them to keep them pretty for sale, so if they get a few sprinkles on them it is ok.
Wait- do you have a clothesline? Can I call dibs on the clothesline? That would be an amazing way to display these ponies! I'll even bring my own clothespins! If not, I will figure something out. I'm actually a little excited about trying to figure something like a clothesline out. I wonder if my husband feels like doing some strange creating?

Hey Aurora!  I have room for both tables - bring whichever you like, or both!  I don't have a clothesline, but I do have a wheeled clothes rack that you may be able to use.  :)  Ponies wouldn't be on eye level though, if that's important to you.

Hey all!  I'm keeping track of the guest list - I've been super busy with work and prepping the house for the meet that I've been neglecting the planning process!  D'oh!

I will most definitely post an ongoing guest list tomorrow - and also get a food planner started.  I'd like any and all input on games too - what did people enjoy most last year?  I know the dice game was popular!  Would anyone be interested in an apple-themed food contest?  Not necessarily desserts, either.  Other apple related stuff we could incorporate?
