My grandmother gave me her artificial tree after she moved to a home for elderly.
We'll be putting it up tomorrow I think :)

When I worked Trauma, I saw the result of a bad accident between a cat and a Christmas tree, or rather, a cat and the gate that was supposed to keep the cat out of the Christmas tree, and the owner got the worst of it trying to free the poor little beastie. Not that I was a big Christmas fan before, but trees are now on my "never" list, at least as long as I have pets :)

We didn't used to have one, because both artificial and real trees have their ecological downsides. :(

Then last year we inherited a slightly broken second hand artificial tree, which wih a bit of fixing up looks lovely and we saved it from going to landfill. :)

Decorated enirely with home-made, second hand and upcycled decorations, it feels really homely and cheery. I like mah tree.  ^.^

Also, my doggies know to stay far away from it.

We go the extra mile and get a live tree every year.  While a fake tree would save us money and a hefty cleanup, it just doesn't feel like Christmas to me without a real tree.  It smells so goooood~

That and the lot where we get the tree makes wreaths out of the branches they trim from the bottom of the stump.  So we get a tree /and/ a wreath. :3

We've been using an artificial tree for years; I can't even remember what it was like to have a fresh one.

Just my mini purple MLP tree up on a shelf in my bedroom.  Mum won't let us have Christmas decorations in the rest of the house. :(

We'll probably have ours up once mom's exams are over. Right now we're in the 'don't make any sudden moves' stage of the year.

We have one tree in our house.  Personally I prefer fake trees because imo they look more symetrical. I also don't like the idea of cutting down a tree just for Christmas - even though I know some of them are specially grown for this purpose!  :)

I celebrate Hanukkah but I put up a Christmas tree.  I just love them.  :)

After making that Menorah adoptable (to be widely released next year), I think I want a light bulb Menorah for the family next year. ^.^ Of course, I naturally like things that emit light, anyway.

Ive had mine up for around a month, I absolutely love Christmas, and am mentally scarred from working so many Christmas days over the years, so I really appreciate the small things. Ive got an untraditional white fake tree, which I decorate in different colours each year - this year its covered in pink :D last year I went gold, green and purple, the year before was green, blue and pink. I like white ones cause you can put whatever colour you want on it, unlike the green where some colours just fade into the tree or just look odd (like blue or green).

I would have a live one, but also have hay fever and it sets off asthma, sneezing fits and makes me puffy. I do love the smell of live ones, but I pay for it lol.

Also I have 3 senior kitties, that have never tried to climb it, they do get under it and play with low hanging decorations, but get bored and wander off to have another sleep quickly :) if I had younger kitties, I probably wouldn't have one just in case they got hurt. Id hate one of my babies to get injured from such a thing :(

Two artificial trees. One is my mother's, a small one that she places her special expensive likely-to-break ornaments. It's just for her own collection. The other big tree goes up the ceiling and has the usual random assortment of ornaments, with tinsel, star on top, lights, etc. Real trees = no good because of asthma and I am also allergic to them. ): However, I don't want trees to die anyway, so it's just as well. It's so sad seeing the parking lot offerings, with all these nice trees cut down. How many real trees are wasted every year just for the holiday? Then you get to see them chucked on the curb for trash pickup. Such a waste.
