We used to have two, one for Mom's nice ornaments, and a smaller one to keep the kids away from her's.  Lately we've been too tired/lazy to do two, so it's just the one. Also artificial, we got tired of the needles and allergies a real one brings.

@Heliodor: I don't know that it's really a waste if the trees are specifically farmed for this holiday...the thing is, it's actually way better for the environment to use real trees, since they go back to earth very quickly after use. When we had real ones, we liked to throw the carcasses in the woods, and birds would nest in them.
I'll put something here some time

We have a small artificial one.  It doesn't smell as nice, but it is clean, doesn't mess with josh's allergies, no pine needles to be nommed by dogs, and it's the same every year.  I love it.

I've always had an artificial tree. My family didn't put up the tree the past couple of years. The cats turn it into a giant toy. Branches get bent down where they sleep in it and there are no ornaments on the bottom foot of the tree.  :P

We celebrate both holiday here which is awesome cause I love Christmas trees.  We have actually three though Thoth has not put hers up this year.

The main tree is a live tree which we traditionally go cut down ourselves on Black Friday.  It is huge, as we have a 9 foot ceiling and I usually bring home more tree then we can fit, that is with using a tape measure. LOL  It is totally covered in glass ornaments.  I shall get a photo tomorrow to add to this thread.  And yes it does have a blown glass MLP ornament on it.

We also have a little artifual tree that we actually got for Thoth's I think second christmas, since she was mobile and there was no room for a big tree.  It holds all those first and oddball ornaments.

Then there is Thoth's which like I said is not up, I think it might not make it out this year.  It has all sorts of MLP ornaments and LPS and other things she likes.  It is also artificial and is actually one of those fiber optic jobs.  So kind of cool.

We also some how ended up with two of the MLP trees, which we no longer use.  Too small.  Need to find them a home.

We never have one because, 1) we're too lazy, and 2) my cat would eat and otherwise mess with it too much (silly cat eats any plant that we try to bring into the apt)

I live in Oregon and the whole place smells like pine XD so I have a fake tree (also, I tend to kill houseplants). When we moved into this house there were 3 artificial trees in the attic so I have the top of one of those lit up in a fancy pot on the front porch, next year I'd love to put another one up in my kids rooms.

I prefer fake trees. The real ones just are too much of hassle. And the needles make me itch.

We have two in the house. One for our room and the big family tree. :D

plus isn't there a risk of bringing bugs into your home? like the ones that live unter the leaves or under the bark?

We put up our artificial tree the first week of advent. We used to always get real trees, but when my brother moved out and I went off to university my mom opted for an artificial one because it's easier for one person to manage. I do miss having a real tree though. I miss the smell more than anything. We always try to get some greenery in the house to replicate it, but it's not quite the same.

I just put up the 5 foot artificial tree in the front room and there are three smaller trees in my bedroom - all artificial.  :)

I prefer real ones but we weren't able to get one this year.

We have 4 up, but they are all small ones, three are small microfiber ones (the one in my room has some plastic g3 MLP ornaments hanging on it) and then the one in the window by the side door setting on a table is a little bigger with fake snow strings of lights and garland on it and has stuff under it/on the table by it.

Not this year.  I gave away my artificial tree in 2008 when I moved in with my now-ex because he had one and I didn't feel we needed two.  Now that we've broken up and I moved out, I don't have a tree.  I am still saving for a car, so I am not buying a tree this year.  I will get one next year.

Anybody else see the Obsession show on TLC about the lady with over 100 Christmas Trees in her house?

I dunno, was it the lady who even had a tree in her bathtub and threw a Christmas party where people would come to her house and see her trees? And she had a daughter who had the same exact haircut as her? :P

Also, I have two little tinsel trees set up in my room, then the big main one upstairs my mom and I decorated together. All of our trees are artificial- saves money, time, effort and they don't shed all over your floors! My little Christmas-themed pony set up on my bed's headboard also has a teeny tiny little LED tree that lights up and changes colors! It's very pretty c: andIgotitonsalefortwodollars.
