Well, I figured as much. :/ I'm going to save myself the headache of dealing with Mattycollector and go straight to ebay once preorders start showing up. I think she's going to be my favorite when all is said and done. I'm a bit aggravated she's premiering as a SDCC exclusive, but I'm just glad she's being made at all at this point. In other news, my Twyla was waiting for me on my front step yesterday.  I wasn't expecting her so soon, given the projected date the package was supposed to arrive, so I was psyched. She's really cute in person, and I love Dustin. Her skin is a lovely shade of purple and makes Operetta look pink when compared side by side.

For anyone who preordered Bloodgood, I just want to pass this along. Toys R' Us is having a promotion right now for $5 off purchases of $25, $10 off $55, and $25 off $100 (eligible amounts are before shipping and state tax). I sent their customer service an email asking if this could be applied to my order and they knocked $5 off my total.

Well, that was a bust. Oh well, maybe not knowing what the exclusive is for SDCC is for the better, it's one less thing to stress over for the time being. There's already a handful of dolls I know I'm going to be buying this year, so maybe I'll be caught up a bit on my wishlist by the time it's revealed.  Anyone know when DT Spectra is supposed to be released?

So, this is interesting for those into variants. Apparently, the newer versions of DDG Spectra are coming out with light pink hair streaks. Here's a side-by-side comparison someone posted on flickr, comparing the two versions: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginDDG Spectra Variant by iwant20, on Flickr I'm so nervous! Today may be the day they reveal the exclusive! Eek!
Let's hope! It better not be one of the previews they have planned to reveal at a later date, I've been on the edge of my seat all week!

Soooooo, any news on the SDCC exclusive??? I've been insanely busy all day, hence my absence on the forums today.

Congrats on finding her apanda0622! I really like her face, she's very sweet-looking. That's awesome that she's going to your mom. I'm totally jealous, I wish I had someone close to me to collect with.

My Catrine hasn't discolored, but after putting her under a blacklight, I noticed that she's made up of a mix of different plastics. Her torso and upper limbs fluoresce a bright green, while her tail, hands, and forearms are a soft purple, and her lower legs seem to be a marbled mixture of both. I'm thinking the plastic used on her lower legs wasn't mixed properly, so this may end up happening to more of them unfortunately.

So her eyes do glow after all, good to know. Thank you for re-posting this pukunui! I, for one, really love Twyla, I think she's a cutie. I initially thought she was a bit Plain Jane and was almost disappointed when the leaked survey photos of her prototype first started making their way around the internet, but the more recent images of her that have been circulating, coupled with the fact that she's on Howleen's body-type has since won me over. I really like her wavy hair. I would have preferred it if her bangs were curled inwards, rather than laying straight, but this is a minor nitpick. I think her face is really sweet and I love the colors they went with on her, as well as her dreamcatcher theme. As far as new female characters thus far for 2013, I think she's my favorite so far. I already caved and purchased her online and I'm just waiting for her to get here now.

Last year I logged into MattyCollector, put Scarah in my cart, got stuck in queue, and when it took me to the pay screen she was sold out.
Same thing happened to me last year. I had all my payment and shipping information preloaded from the night before and was able to add a few Scarahs to my cart the second they appeared on the website, but it lagged on the order confirmation screen and she was sold out by the time it finally put me through. I think they were all gone in roughly 10 minutes after going up. The first two years' exclusives were a cakewalk when compared to last year's madness, and I'm not looking forward to the scramble again this time around if it's a new character. Last year I just caved and went to a reseller on ebay, and I'll probably do it again this year if the exclusive is something like Wydowna or Invisi Billy. I'm really hoping it's a one-off of a character we already have though, it'll be one less thing to worry about picking up.

Thank you, and will do.  She is really cute. I didn't know what to make of her at first, but she's one of those characters that I've slowly warmed up to and now I'm really excited about her. I'm so happy that Howleen is finally getting a friend. From my tumblr ask box:

I hope for this too. Twyla and Bloodgood are a start, but the more dolls we get in those molds, the more potential for official clothing options. I'd love some fashion packs in these sizes.

I found someone selling Twyla on Amazon the other day for a decent price, with shipping, and she's now on her way. I've been sitting on a gift card for what seems like forever now, so I caved when the opportunity presented itself. The same seller jacked up her price to double what I paid for her almost immediately after I put my order in, which is a bit obnoxious. It's coming from the UK, so she probably won't be here for a while. I'm eager to hear if she glows, so I'm hoping that person on tumblr gives us the scoop. Twyla and Heath are the two dolls I'm looking forward to the most this year. One down, one to go! If Wydowna ends up being the SDCC exclusive this year, I swear, my head is going to explode.

I checked on my signature Spectra, and under bright light it appears as though her forearms and hands may be slightly yellowed as well. Mine was an earlier release from China, and her transparent features were always a bit cloudier than the Indonesian dolls anyway, so I can't say if this is something new with her or not. Her feet seem fine, but they're also made from a different plastic. I keep my dolls on a bookcase in a dark corner of my bedroom, far from the windows, and always wash my hands prior to touching them. It probably is just going to be par the course with some Spectras unfortunately. At least it only seems to affect the forearms and hands, maybe future batches won't be as prone to discoloring and we can just replace them.
