Trader & Shipping Support / US East Coast to get snowstorm, expect delays
« on: January 20, 2014, 05:51:49 PM »
If you're expecting to get a package from the US, or are expecting one on the East Coast, be prepared for delays. The mid-atlantic states and are expected to get a snowstorm tomorrow, ranging anywhere from 6-18 in. depending on the area (My area in MD is expected to get 6-8 in.)  High winds are also expected, making for blizzard-like conditions.

Bundle up ponies! Get your bread, milk and flashlights now!! :P

Trader & Shipping Support / A bidder to block (non-pony)
« on: December 10, 2013, 01:49:54 PM »
I can't believe one of my two non-payers paid at the very last minute. Of course it was the 0.99 cent item... Oh well, it's sent!

Anyway, my second non-paying winner was mleiker902. It was a non-pony item, but a Transformers one. No communication, no payment.

Trader & Shipping Support / Opened case and second chance offer question
« on: December 08, 2013, 06:24:03 AM »
I have a case open on an item I sold last week. Can I offer the second chance offer to the next bidder even though the case is still open, or do I have to wait to close the case first?

Trader & Shipping Support / Does this seem weird to you?
« on: December 06, 2013, 12:28:34 PM »
I have an auction lot of blind bags up on Ebay and the current bidder has 19 feedbacks....the latest from 2004.  It's 100%, so I'm not worried about that...I'm just wondering if maybe someone got into their account and is using it without permission? It just seems so odd that suddenly I'm their first auction in almost 10 years to bid on.

I hope I'm wrong. It just seems weird.

Trader & Shipping Support / It's like being a brand new seller again...
« on: November 24, 2013, 03:10:42 AM »
Hi everyone,

I just sold my first item on Ebay for the first time in a LONG time with a BIN.  My question is, (and I'm shipping this out priority), would you use Ebay's shipping, or would you just go to the post office and mail it from there?  The reason I'm asking is Ebay is saying that the entire package is 2 oz.  I weighed it and it came to 11 oz after the item and the cushioning is put in a small priority box.  Is that going to matter if I use Ebay's shipping label, or is the PO going to send the package back to me with insufficient postage?

Thanks!

Off Topic / Anyone get a new phone recently?
« on: October 28, 2013, 01:04:53 AM »
~sigh~  My contract expires next month with T-Mobile. I don't know whether to stay with them or not, but that's for another conversation.  If I stay with T-Mobile, I'm not sure whether to keep the phone I have (do I get a discount for that?) or get a new phone.

Anyway, if you got a new phone recently, which one did you get? Some of the new models look very sleek, so I'm curious about them. I have been doing tons of research, but I'm still not sure which one I want, if I get one at all.

Price Check Archives / PC: MIB I'm a hero/I'm a villan! Comic-Con Pony
« on: September 15, 2013, 11:05:10 AM »
I wound up with an extra one of these, and I'm not entirely sure what they're selling for right now. Here's the Strawberry Reef page for a picture of her.

Both of mine are MIB, never opened. Boxes are in overall fairly decent shape. Yes, I will be selling one. :D

Thanks for any help!

Off Topic / This family is cursed when it comes to vacations!
« on: August 25, 2013, 06:52:24 PM »
No really...we went to the beach one year only to wind up in the path of a (weakened) hurricane, so we had to go home early.

We were planning a trip to Japan a couple of years ago and the earthquake hit. Cancelled the trip all together.

Now my mom and I were planning to go to San Francisco in late October/early November, simply because I've never been and I wanted to go, and the Yosemite fire is threatening their electrical grid.   :whoa:  Our timing is impeccable!

I hope everyone's all right out there. If they can get the fire under control (the maps I've been seeing show a LOT of California on fire right now!), we may still go. We'll just have to keep watching and waiting.

Trader & Shipping Support / Is Ebay customer service open on holidays?
« on: March 30, 2013, 10:47:14 PM »
I'm in the U.S. and I have four more days to use my Ebay bucks from this last quarter, so I bought some yarn on a whim. Went to pay for it and the Ebay bucks don't come up on the paypal payment page. Long story short, after looking for alternatives options on how to pay with the bucks, and not finding them, it looks like I need customer service. After they've just closed. And of course, tomorrow is Easter. My timing is astounding.

So, I know they're normally open 7 days a week, but does that include major "holidays" (and I use the term loosely, because it's not a federal one here in the U.S.), like Easter?

I'm hoping someone can answer for me before I find out the hard way tomorrow.  I really hate to leave my seller hanging like this!

Trader & Shipping Support / Ebay vs. Amazon, Round 1 *ding*
« on: March 19, 2013, 02:23:13 PM »
http://www.nbcnews.com/business/ebay-change-fees-lure-disgruntled-amazon-sellers-1C8953666

While that's a bit of comfort, what I've seen just from our trader support forum is they NEED to change the feedback system!

I haven't bought anything from Amazon Marketplace in a long time. I got screwed twice there buying dvds. One was an obviously ripped copy of a movie with a pasted on sticker on the front of the dvd (although the dvd box cover looked legit, weird), and another that sent me a library copy of a dvd, when I'd specifically paid for a new copy. Won't do it again. Just too shifty when they can use stock photos from Amazon to sell their stuff.

Trader & Shipping Support / New Ebay policies
« on: February 24, 2013, 01:09:38 PM »
I got an email from ebay regarding an updates to their user agreement, privacy policy and buyer protection policy (there is NO seller protection policy included!) Thought you'd all would be interested in reading this. Any bolding below is mine.

Key updates to the eBay Buyer Protection Policy:
Communications between buyers and sellers. We are making changes to allow buyers and sellers to communicate more efficiently about transaction issues. A buyer must first contact a seller via the Resolution Center and wait a reasonable amount of time as specified in the Resolution Center before asking eBay to review and resolve the issue. Communications from buyers for item not received and significantly not as described transactions will be centralized and presented in the Resolution Center to help facilitate an efficient resolution.

Updates relating to seller's performance ratings. Opened cases will no longer count against a seller's performance rating. Only unresolved eligible cases that are escalated to eBay for a decision may count against a seller's performance rating.

Provisions relating to PayPal accounts. We have updated the Policy to reflect our ability to remove funds from a seller's PayPal account in a currency other than the currency of the transaction at issue where the seller does not have sufficient funds available in the transaction currency.

I found the last one interesting, as it means if you have, for example, both US Dollars AND British Pounds in your account, and you don't have enough US money in your account for a refund, they're going to take it out of your British pounds total.

Thoughts? I thought things were supposed to get better in February on Ebay, not worse!

ETA: Think I found them, thanks to Brightglowpony! Thanks!

I swear I'm not stalking anyone, I promise!

I'm looking for someone that sat either across from me or next to me at our table at the Olive Garden Friday night before the Fair in Orlando. We started talking about the Unicornos collectible unicorn series, and I stated that I believed I had the one at home that she was looking for.   If you're she, and you remember this conversation (I'm Erin!) please contact me. :)

Thanks!

Post Merge: August 05, 2012, 08:07:02 PM

Thanks to my pal, Brightglowpony, she ID'd the people that sat with us! I'll be contacting them shortly. Thanks BGP! :)
