Opened case and second chance offer question

I have a case open on an item I sold last week. Can I offer the second chance offer to the next bidder even though the case is still open, or do I have to wait to close the case first?

You can offer it now because if you have opened a case against the winner then it is already too late for them.

It's not a good idea to do that. The buyer still has four days to pay once you open the case. I would wait until the case closes out and then proceed with the second chance offer.

Yes, what ponylady said!! If your first buyer decides to pay before the case closes, and your second chance offer is accepted you'll have another problem to work out with 2 buyers & 1 item. Best to wait until the case closes, then offer the second chance.

That's what I thought, everyone, thanks. I've still got two days on both cases, and even though I doubt I'll hear from either of them, I'll wait. Thanks!
