No really...we went to the beach one year only to wind up in the path of a (weakened) hurricane, so we had to go home early.

We were planning a trip to Japan a couple of years ago and the earthquake hit. Cancelled the trip all together.

Now my mom and I were planning to go to San Francisco in late October/early November, simply because I've never been and I wanted to go, and the Yosemite fire is threatening their electrical grid.     Our timing is impeccable!

I hope everyone's all right out there. If they can get the fire under control (the maps I've been seeing show a LOT of California on fire right now!), we may still go. We'll just have to keep watching and waiting.

Those fires are awful. I hope they can stop it soon.

Uh oh! I didn't even know about fires! We have plans to go there early October!

They are now saying it's on the brink of taking out San Fran's electrical grid.  This thing is ENORMOUS.
