Pony Life and G4.5

Hanazuki is a show I liked with good adventures and style that would fit in with MLP.    Rick and Morty or Parks and Rec are definitely not MLP-esque.

MLP Merch showed off some new G4.5 blind bags. I have mixed feelings. I'm liking a lot of the new characters but I hate how many non-ponies are included. A hippo? And the pets should be saved as accessories. I'd hate it if I had to spend $3 on a blind bag and end up not getting a pony. I HATE the unicorn horn trend too and that's like... the entire gimmick of this wave. Cha Cha is included too, it's a nice throwback, but she's only included there because llamas are very trendy right now and Hasbro has to cash in on every fad going on...

LOTS of cute designs, I love the pink dragonfly one, the and purple translucent pony with the flower, and the white and yellow translucent pony with the... mouse? Maybe I'll gave in and buy some of these but I'm not a fan of the non-ponies being thrown in there. And the "balloon" ponies make me... uncomfortable...

Btw, do you guys remember when Hasbro said earlier this year they were going to try to use less plastic in their packaging by the end of 2020? I didn't fall for that, and my instincts were right. Maybe it's too early to criticize them but I stated before that Hasbro has been terrible with plastic lately (the tube ponies from this year as well as the bottle-shaped baby set). I don't think they're going to stop any time soon.

Quick recap on my complaints.

The jaws have been completely removed, unlike the other animals who Hasbro actually sculpted proper faces for. This makes me mad.

The expressions on the non roly-polies make em look strung out.

There are nice colors ruined by those freakish moulds.

The unicorn horns ruin the other animals.

I wonder if we'll get more pony friends and pretty pals?

The winged pigs are cute.

Hasbro has decided that only boys are deserving of quality toys. Little girls apparently don't deserve squat. As judged by the excellence of their current TF line and the surprising amount of detail in their Botbots.

I think they look fine for the most part but lack of sculpting doesn't help matters. Twilight is the worst, her eye looks like it's placed too far up.

It may just be the model's designs as a whole that make their eyes look extra off, but to me they just look like they stick out like a sore thumb. Either way, these models look incredibly low in quality to me altogether. =/

I didn't really get what you were saying at first Harmonie. But when I was editing the dragonfly (or firefly?) pony, I noticed she had a very blank stare. And weird cat pupils...? I know "the new ponies are cats" joke, but it seems like Hasbro is taking it seriously! I made their irises and pupils larger too to make them more "cute". Ironically they ended up looking a bit G3.5-ish... but at least G3.5s had chins...

I'm not big on blind bag minis, but I'ma need myself a translucent balloon pinkie. that's just too stupid to pass up, I love that. (actually all of the balloon ones are adorable, imo ^^' )
