Pony Life and G4.5

Am I missing something? Where's Owlowiscious? All of the pony pets are there but Twilight's pet. Is... Is that hippo her new pet pal? Does she transform Owlowiscious with one of those potions?! I'M SO CONFUSED RIGHT NOW.

I didn't really get what you were saying at first Harmonie. But when I was editing the dragonfly (or firefly?) pony, I noticed she had a very blank stare. And weird cat pupils...? I know "the new ponies are cats" joke, but it seems like Hasbro is taking it seriously! I made their irises and pupils larger too to make them more "cute". Ironically they ended up looking a bit G3.5-ish... but at least G3.5s had chins...

This is the blank, uncomprehending stare when you wake up in a filthy room with blood-soaked, surgical tools beside you and you look down to see that the large, infected wound on your stomach has been haphazardly stitched together. Only in this case, they can't scream fof help because their jaws are gone. This is why we don't go vacationing in certain parts of the world little ponies.

PS: that sudden hippo cracks me up. It's like they re-used a couple of pet molds and then randomly chose a hippo from another line to fill the last spot. Imagine the outrage of a little kid wanting a pretty unicorn and ending up with a Madagascar lookalike hippo with a glued on horn. It's like a practical joke

Thank you for this reconstructive surgery. What Hasbro did to these poor creatures is animal cruelty. One by one we can rehabilitate them and teach them how to eat again.

Yikes the originals look like they're going through some sort of existential crisis... or are just now realizing their jaw is gone.

Is that really the original design? Hard to believe they'd OK that...

Oh good, I'm not the only person to see that. That was my first thought. I think these are adorable, but I thought the brushables were adorable? Helps to like the trends, I suppose.
I am getting a fakie vibe from a few of these, mostly the recolored Twilights. Loving the Cha-Cha. That Hippo is especially out of place. I'd love to see someone find out they reused the mold from some other set.
My gripe is that I literally could not care less about the pets. They aren't particularly interesting, and at least the inflation ponies are ponies. I would only want Dark Winona and Dark Opal for jokes.

Even from just these stock photos, the paint jobs look awful. The hair colors and cutie marks are much less detailed than the FIM blind bags.

Also the boxart...yuck! There is no semblance of a muzzle on those "ponies" from any angle anymore!

I don't get the horns on all the animals.

BUT.  I would like to get Cha Cha the llama and then I can just sand the horn off or something.

Cha Cha looks way better than the actual ponies, cute fluffy sculpt.

Trixie arrived on Tuesday. She's really cute and has gloriously soft hair. Somebody else has gotten her and it seems like the accessories can vary. Mine came with a translucent glittery head band and a red barrette but somebody else's came with a silver head band and a blue barrette. Anyway she's really cute and I can't wait for these to hit retail.
