The picture says "Do not use PVC" How can you tell if the bin you are using is PVC?Also, one thing I always try first is putting the pony (toy) in the sun for about hour. Sunlight has great disinfecting power and I've had success eliminating smoke smells from ponies, but don't forget and leave it out there too long!
I aired out one of my stinky G3 Ponies by putting her outside for a week. I washed her, and scrubbed her with a magic eraser then washed her with hand soap then set her outside on a table until the stench went away.
C'mom Skeen....dig up the pony. We are all dying to know if she still stinks.

She's either at the end of the porch or out by the back fence, because we both remember being in both places with the pony, but not the actual burial! I'll be at Mom's tonight, maybe I can get my niece to dig for me.
Oh she'd do it if she thought there was a pony in it, for sure. No sweetening needed!
So, bad breath Minty has been cured! I simply let her air out alone for all this time, and she seems to be scent free now. I wonder if the bath helped at all or if she only need some air. She didn't even get much UV light, as I didn't want to harm her hair, but maybe some ponies just need some time after their spa day.I think ponies like the infamous Merry Treats need more than a bath and some air, however.
