Minnesota ~I Heart Ponies~ Valentine’s Day Pony Party


  My Little Pony, will you be my Valentine?

Wouldn’t it be nice to get together with your pony friends for an afternoon? Let’s do! Please join us for a little party to celebrate love for all things My Little Pony!  The holidays are winding down and the pony fair is months away, but we love ponies so what do you say?

What: Valentine-themed Pony Party
When: Valentine’s Day, Sunday February 14th
Time: 1-4
Where: ponyqueen’s house in the Twin Cities



Rough outline of the party
Valentine exchange!
[Buy/sell/trade/raffle]
Group photo (wear something with red, white, or pinks!)
Trivia game & G1 Dice Game
[Cakes and chocolate dipped strawberries]
Pony room tour/Show and tell
Painting demo and "draw together" (art and coloring for adults!)
Raffle winner and door prizes!

What to bring
One Valentine for each attending guest (can be simple or ornate, homemade or store bought)
One or two G1 items for dice game (gifts should be $1-$3 value G1 items, wrapped. They can be ponies, accessories, merch, plush, backcards, paper ephemera, art, or G1 retro items. I will probably add an item or two of higher value as well, because FUN!)
Item for show and tell if participating
Art supplies for "draw together" if participating (I'll have crayons and some pony coloring sheets for all)
Ponies/items for selling
Cash for buying

  For everyone familiar with our Minnesota pony meets, I’m envisioning something similar but simplified and scaled down, since space will be limited to just indoors. I’ll have some tables set up along the wall for selling/trading, but mostly I’m hoping to get to know you all better and play some pony games! So don’t overthink it- just search your heart, check your calendar, and come on by!

Sorry won't make this but maybe for MN meet again. It is just too long of a drive to not make it a weekend thing with Ren fair. Neat idea though wish I was a little closer.

My husband and I usually avoid doing anything on Valentine's day itself so I should be able to make it!

I can't think of a good reason to miss this! I might not have much to bring to sell, but I have so many valentines- it would be fun to decorate little valentine mailboxes like when we were in kindergarten! I can bring the stuff for it, I have the perfect boxes in mind. The only question is how much glitter is too much???

I might have to bring my toddler- is that ok? He's 2, and well-behaved for a two-year-old, but he's still two. He touches things. ALL THE THINGS. (I will look into some Grandma time- it's a little extra driving, but worth it for some kid-free pony time.)

Yes I was thinking of making some kind of bag or box for each of the guests for the Valentine exchange! If you have some supplies in mind, we could certainly decorate the boxes as an activity. 

A toddler is okay- but I do have two dogs and a cat if that's okay! My husky is kid friendly, and my greyhound is fine but doesn't like to cuddle.

I ship a lot of things for work, and there are boxes that are about 10 by 7 by 2 that are sturdy and we (and by we I mean I) accidentally ordered too many of. Will those work, or did you already have boxes in mind? I'm also guessing you have some craft supplies, but if you need me to bring some more non-fancy ones, I'll happily bring them.

I'm also in the middle of a mental pony overhaul. I realized at some point that I don't really have a good way to display plush ponies, and they are not getting the love they deserve. I'm still on the fence about it, but is there any plushie that anyone has their heart set on?

Those boxes could work for the valentine exchange. I was just going to use some little grab bags- any small bag or box should work. 

Plush ponies? I would love more G1 plushes!
