Blizzard of 2015
« on: January 26, 2015, 04:21:00 PM »
Are you guys prepared?  I don't really have to do much as far as preparation.  I helped my Dad do some things in the backyard yesterday such as moving the patio table onto its side and away from the path of damage.  My grandparents have to stay with us for a few days, because it the sky farts they lose power.  :silly:

I just hope we don't lose power.  I'll have to worry about keeping my indoor cat warm and my Dad's fish in the fish tank might die.

I had to call out of work for tomorrow and I'm thinking I may have to call out for Wednesday too since it's supposed to be snowing some, plus we'll have the grand total of snow on the ground.

So, do you wanna build a snowman?

So far not much, but school is closed for tomorrow and my job was trying to figure out if they where or where not going to open.  I have tomorrow off, so champagne is chilling out side and I plan to not worry till tomorrow afternoon.  We are in the 20-30" band out on Long Island.

My classes were cancelled tomorrow. Unfortunately workstudy was also canceled so I might end up missing out on an event I was looking forward to so I can make up the hours.

Here in the Cape and Islands area its something for sure. I also hope to have the power stay on. I tried hard to prepare for the storm as best I can grocery shopping, buying water, finding candles, flashlights and getting the 2 doggies I live with and love enough food and filling up water bottles. I've been very happy about the kind support from others including customers at my shop who understand the blizzard is something to really be thoughtful about and to not ship till later in the week. I hope everyone stays safe in this and best wishes to all for their health and safety.

So once the wind and icky blizzard has blown away can I get photos of your snowmen? Not much snow here - in fact if it's possible would love some as we're nearly in drought conditions....

I'm a Long Islander. I'm getting the blizzard. I have no school for this week. I always found blizzards really fun (except for the shoveling, that sucks). I'm probably going to catch up on some shows and work on some art... and take some of my ponies out for some snow photography yay!

Hey, I'm in Oklahoma and we've had a couple of blizzards!

But not this year... Or the last few years. I wish we could be spared one? I think they're pretty. This winter has been really lame.

At the moment still snowing, and the local airport has recorded 18" of snow.  It is a very fine snow for the most part, which will keep the total down a little.  Too much snow on the windows to tell if we have seen a plow yet.  We are normally one of the last streets to see one.
