We got hit pretty hard!  At least we didn't lose power.  In 2013 we didn't have power for days and days and it was horrible.  This time we just had to shovel for hours!!  We shoveled 3 times, and only now are we officially dug out, so to speak.  For scale, here is a photo of Milky Way on our patio after we dug a path to the driveway.  The grey thing is the top of the back of a full sized chair!

We got 2" winter has been quite mild here...

Post Merge: January 28, 2015, 11:54:37 AM

And here in England, the headline reads: Killer freeze on the way to Britain ...4 inches of snow. The horror.

Gah, what a joke, especially compared to some parts of the US. Stay safe everyone!
4" that's NOTHIN'! LOL

Here in Gloversville NY, we were supposed to get around eight inches.

How much did we actually get?

Gryff's Snow Accumulation
A whole... great big... QUARTER OF AN INCH. XD If even that much.

On the island here off of Cape Cod power went out completely during the storm here at the house no cell phone, no landline, no heat, no lights, it just went away. I stayed in the warmest room till it just got too cold during the Monday to Wednesday time period. I have 2 doggies with me and they were getting cold and sad so I packed up a bag before the storm that I had ready, finally got 1 bar of att and called to get to the local shelter. Walked down my road here in the snow with one dog in a carrier over 1 arm, 1 dog on a leash to the police car to get to get to the shelter. Was told they may be be accepted there by the police on the phone but brought them anyway down the street not leaving them behind. We went Wed am early around 3 am. We ended up staying till about 3 pm Wednesday. It was something for sure.  So glad that the island is recovering although roads still had snow on them today and people had to go very slow even though they had been plowed. So glad its passed.

Yeah I saw on the news, you guys got hammered.

We ended with a total of 23.5" according to the paper.  And we have more coming this Sunday.  My road stinks, I have to gun it to get out every time I leave.  So much fun. LOL

Today we have blizzard with a windchill of -40 at 50km/hour winds. When the weather report says "Frostbite in minutes they're not kidding.

Haha well it's highly recommended. The wind was wild yesterday and bitter cold. When it gets that bad usually the police are on the radio suggesting people stay indoors or try to limit their time outside. Ever had your lungs flash freeze? IT HURTS LOL! I was surprised they didn't shut down the highway again, but considering the blizzard not many wanted to travel anyways. We lucked out early January with nice weather and now as expected, February is kicking our tails.

Only 4 more months of winter to go....
