"Snowmaggedon" was a joke here in Philly so far - we barely got an inch. They were thinking we would get 8" to 10". I'm from Minnesota, I think I can handle an inch of snow!

Good luck to those of you that are getting heavier snowfalls, though! I hope this thing passes by quickly for you (or stays long enough for you to miss work/school if that's what you want!)

Michigander here; it missed us lol We've only had 17" of snow so far this year--last year at this time was 46". It's still pretty cold at 10 degrees; DD won't have outdoor recess unless it warms up above 15 degrees.

It just barely started snowing here a few hours ago...I can't imagine what it's like in the coastal areas right now.  They are saying 6-10 inches total for us, that'll be plenty! :P  I hate shoveling and driving in it, otherwise I wouldn't mind.

Right now it's snowing hard, near white out conditions and very windy.  We got a lot of snow last night and it's continuing today. I called out for work today yesterday morning.

It doesn't seem like much of a blizzard here in CT. The 2013 storm where we got 36" of snow and I was stranded for 4-5 days, now that was terribly. Since that storm they seem to be extra cautious here now...there's a driving ban in effect, etc.

And here in England, the headline reads: Killer freeze on the way to Britain ...4 inches of snow. The horror.

Gah, what a joke, especially compared to some parts of the US. Stay safe everyone!

Eh, up here in the Yukon we're actually happy it's cooling back off. We had over a week of melt, which, while the warm weather was nice, it wreaked havoc on our only highway making it a deathtrap. So it's nice to have it back to "normal" winter temperatures (-20C/-3F) so the roads can freeze up again. Honestly I would love to have the snowfall the east is expecting. Your incoming blizzard would be a normal week for us lol.  We need the snow pack quite badly. We've only got about 2-3 feet of snow and it's really not enough for a healthy summer.

Funny how things differ between the north and south eh?

Well all said and done we only got 20.8" according to the weather channel.  Too hard to really tell with all the drifting.  High on our wind gust was 50 miles an hour.  Storm is doing much more damage to New England then it did to Long Island.

There's no  such thing as a blizzard in Texas! :D although I better check on my internet sister :s she lives in New York and they get gnarly winter storms O.O

Hey, I'm in Oklahoma and we've had a couple of blizzards!

But not this year... Or the last few years. I wish we could be spared one? I think they're pretty. This winter has been really lame.

I know, it's like 70 degrees today!  I'm in Tulsa, where are you?

Yesterday morning, there was a nasty weather-related accident down the road from where I work. A pickup truck, a car, and plow truck all collided and the plow truck struck a building.
