Do you like ponies displayed on light or dark colored shelves?

I'm looking at new display cabinets for my collection and got myself thinking. I've always liked putting my ponies on black shelves because their colors really pop out, but most often I see collections displayed on white shelves.

What's your preference? Light or dark colored shelves?

Light shelves for me because I think more light gets into the back of the cabinet and it fits well with my favorite pastel colours

I have silver shelves (so I picked dark, as they're more dark silver than light) to match my bedframe. They're not the prettiest shelves though, they were just ones we had lying around.

If I could have new shelves, I'd love some floating glass ones.

I have white shelves and I do prefer them for display I think they work for most ponies. Black shelves do work exceptionally well with some of the brighter coloured ponies but I think too much can sometimes wash out some of the pastel shades (although it works great with super pink hair!). Its definitely an individual preference thing.

I have light shelves (not white) and think that in the space I have for a pony room they look much better than the darker shelves I have elsewhere.  They look clean and neat.

I prefer dark shelves because the colours stand out and they have a kind of cozy vibe to them. However, I also have a nice, incredibly hippie-ish, wicker bookcase that has lightly varnished wood panels for the shelves and my ponies look fantastic on there.

Definitely lighter colored shelves. I have some ponies on some really dark brown shelves and they seem to "eat" the ponies up and overshadow them. I am in the process of selling off books to make room to put better shelving units up.

I like my white shelves.... I tend to prefer lighter colored furniture because it brightens up a room.

I always like the pictures more of people's light colored shelves, but I pretty much only have black furniture, so all my shelves are black!

White shelves certainly look more cheerful with ponies but they get dusty so fast so medium/dark shelves

Serious answer for me is light colored shelves, but that is because I don't care for dark furniture or shelves in general.

I would have to go with darker shelves, but that's because our tastes (hubby and I) run towards dark cherry wood.

That being said, my collection shelves are a mixture of light and dark bookcases and shelving units that we have acquired over the years, and through various moves.

All of my display shelves are very dark colors, mostly black.  I've just always preferred darker colors when it comes to furniture.

Oh white for sure! The pastel colors really pop, and they just look so clean.

I prefer glass shelves over anything, but I can't afford the cabinet I like :p

For me, it really depends on the shelf! I like wood grain least of all (even though I've got one.. haha)
But as for the clean white/clean black... it really depends.. I have a black shelf that houses my mountain boys and Glow N Shows that I think really makes their colours pop.. but I also have a tall cubed white shelf that I love.. I wouldn't snap my fingers and change the colour of either one...
