Do you like ponies displayed on light or dark colored shelves?

I always had white shelves for my collection for many years, but then I moved far far away and had to get new cabinets. I picked black ones because I thought they'd look more fancy and make the ponies' colors pop out more. Boy, was I right!! I LOVE my black cabinets and would never go back to white.

As of right now all my ponies are displayed on dark shelves, mostly because I like my furniture to match and I don't particularly care for lighter colored woods. However, for some reason, I LOVE the way ponies look on stark white shelves...or baby pink shelves which I think also fall under the light category. I think it's because, for me, ponies are such sweet, soft, happy little things and the lightness just accentuates how gentle and precious they are. It's difficult to describe, but I feel like pastel ponies belong in a pastel world.

I thought dark shelves would be too dark for ponies, but it was all I had access to. To my surprise, it really made the colorful ponies pop against the dark background. It looks great!! I can upload a picture later.

I used to say white. Until on Boxing Day I purchased a beautiful real wood dark espresso bookshelf for my ponies. Holy jumping my ponies are suddenly the focal point! Their colours are amazing against the dark. I also strung some white christmas mini lights in there and I have dark risers to match. It's truly magical!
