as for references I have only seen the movies(dont throw fakies at me) I keep meaning to read the books but not got round to it yet:)

I won't throw fakies at you But you will LOVE them. So MUCH happens in the books that doesn't in the movies. They left out whole characters! I keep wanting to read the UK versions of the books. I saw a list of the terms they changed to publish the US versions and I was shocked! i.e. torch for flashlight etc...

Im torn about getting the actual books or the audio books:) I love reading in the bath but I figure if I get the audio books I could listen to them while making my pony lol

I am deciding between 2 ideas at the moment as well. They're both kind of ambitious in different ways.

I'm sure whatever you pick will be awesome. The ideas I have are very different from each other. My friend and I were brainstorming the other day and she had the best ideas! Watching the movies again didn't help because now I want to make them all!

Not that I know of. I'd recommend making a template from paper towels before cutting in fabric.

I found the first 4 books on CD at the thrift store near my house for $5. I have all the books and prefer to read myself, but my sister prefers listening to the CDs. So I bought them for her and she loves them. The actress who plays Luna Lovegood is Evanna Lynch, I only know because she is my favorite character.

I have my idea, hair ordered, and design chosen. Now I just need to select the perfect bait, which is easier said than done because I am picky.

I was looking through the boxes I packed for ebay years ago and found... TWO BAGS OF PONYS! (Not that I wouldn't have had enough bait (two boxes) to choose from, but now I have three boxes. Yay.
Hair should be no problem too. *eyes the 50+ hair colours in the box*

Still torn between two ideas, but both would be totally cool.

Questions:

I prefer the books. But the visuals are quite good in the movies, so feel free to mix from both to your liking.

Where would I be: With Hagrid trying to breed dragons. Or down at the lake swimming with the giant squid.

Poses I don't care about (but which are totally fine to use if it fits the custom):
G1 Quackers pose because they always tip over. lol.
G1 ballerina baby poses.

I love all the G3 poses. Incl. Donkey, broken neck and all the rest.

I'm a die-hard Ravenclaw. I even got sorted by Pottermore into it. Sounds like a lot of us will be in the library I also forgot that I might be at a S.P.E.W. meeting.

ApertureS: Messing with the prefects sounds awesome! Except I am a prefect I know, I can  mess with the other prefects. lol.

I am so freaking excited about this swap, the pony and the extras I am gathering. I am already hoping someone hosts another HP swap sometime soon after this ends Hannliten: my pony is coming along nicely (crosses fingers).

I watched the Goblet yesterday and forgot how annoyed I was at EVERYTHING that got left out. But it's okay, I will have to re-read the book. At least they didn't leave out the Draco/ferret moment.
