Whats the deal with the pony thats not to be named?

I seem to be out of the loop and am just wondering if someone can explain to me the issue with the name of (muffin) pony?
(Mods if there is already a thread about this please bump me over there)

I believe it is because so many people get offended and upset with each other over the name, the pony, the drama the pony caused. I think it caused a lot of issues for the mods and just overall to much drama for everyone to handle. So it was in the best interest of everyone's blood pressure to censor it till we could all get over it.

People began to drama and fight when they changed the sequence with Bubblebutt and took out her name in The Last Round Up. Ironic thing is that people thought that there was offended people who complained to Hasbro and that it was the reason for the change, but in reality, there was no offended complainers, it was all because Itunes thought her name was offensive and didnt want to get sued...makes one wonder why they do not ask disney to change all their stuff with Goofy! Maybe we should do a joke petition to ask them to bleep out Goofy in every cartoon he is in!

It's a drama thing. Fans of her named her a word that meant dumb and silly because her eyes are crossed and she's cute and clumsy. The show decided to acknowledge it and said that word in the show, itunes took the word out because they thought people might be upset by it, and then and a bunch of parents and random people got upset because they decided that word was a slur against disabled people. The fans got very upset that people were upset and it became such a huge mess that hasbro just labeled the whole thing toxic and decided not to mess with it.
Her name is not a slur against the disabled. Most people didn't even realize it had that connotation. And everyone likes the cute little clumsy muffin pony. No one is mocking or making fun of her. She's not even disabled. And even if she was that wouldn't be a bad thing.

Sooooo it's mostly just that it's a lot of drama and it's a very touchy subject. So they try to just avoid it whenever possible. But people still love muffin pony so they make lots of stuff with her.

 Wow- I too am clueless.  I just thought she wasn't a named character but was popular so we called her the non-name pony.  I wasn't sure where the muffin came from but I just sort of went with it   

  Is there a special way to find locked threads? I tried searching Muffin pony but didn't see them.  Also, why not call her Bubbles? I realize it's a G1 name but they reuse them sometimes and it is her symbol.  Not a close fan of FiM so I apologize if there is a G4 by that name already.
