I've watched the previous seasons as well and have a pretty strong stomach but the one guy and the bugs. Eeewwww.

Last night was so awesome!!!

...and I almost sat through it again when it repeated at 11pm, but I was too tired.

Oh, this season is going to be epic!!!!

I loved Bates "creation". Now that is the Bates I remember from Misery. Utterly creepy!

My husband and I just watched it...so many thoughts!!!

So we have the supreme, a clairvoyent, a telekinetic, a human voodoo doll (that's a new one I hadn't heard of!), an alchemist (Professor Snape, haha), a possible "necromancer" (because I hope Lily Rabe is not in only this one episode, and the way her powers were described makes me think she'll be back) and...Zoe.  What the heck is Zoe's power?  I assume what we've seen is just an initial manifestation of it...but that can't be it?!?  I hope not anyways.  Don't get me wrong that last scene was spectacular, but I just hope that isn't the extent of what she can do.  Any thoughts?

Where did Frances Conroy go after that one scene?  She and her manservant fellow just disappeared into thin air after delivering Zoe to the school...

Delphine and the Supreme seem to have similar goals - eternal vitality?  That could be interesting, considering I thought maybe Kathy Bates' character was a flashback-only deal but NOPE, she's been in a coffin underground for a century and a half, still alive!  That definitely was a nice touch!

I hope Evan Peters' character returns as well, in some way.  I assume he will but not counting on anything yet.

Overall very impressed with this first episode!

Her power is bothering me too. I know it's a twisted series, but in my person opinion, I wouldn't have used my power on that kid in the hospital, I mean she only just met that other kid. Okay okay, witches have powers so they probably have instant and lasting connections, but seriously. I do want to see how she "develops" her power, because she's got to have a more... appropriate way of using it quickly. I mean that particular method of using her power isn't exactly something that she can do in a split second, like the flick of the wrist that threw over the frat bus in the first place, ya know?

She's gotta be able to use it on the fly like the rest, or it's not really a way of protecting her, maybe just contact in general? If she gets strong enough she could just touch them? That's my best guess - like her power is new and "weak" or unfocused now, so she can only do it when touching someone very intimately, with the most intimate part of her and them - BUT if she gets stronger, perhaps she can just simple touch someone on their chest and use the power?

Okay I'm done speculating, because I'm sure I'll be wrong, I can never tell what I'll be seeing in AHS! If I don't say, "What did I just see?" at least 3x an episode, I know it's not American Horror Story, lol!

I hate to say this but it always takes me a few episodes to remember character names. Till then I go by actors.

I feel like there is a lot more to her than jut having deadly lady parts. Lmao, I at least hope so otherwise that's strange. I believe essentially she will be the opposite of the other character. A bringer of death instead of life that could turn out really interesting.

They mentioned there was a supreme for each age. Do they mean jut one till she dies you think? Or will one of these young girls possibly be a supreme?

I'm curious about the mix of voodoo in here. (I do not know this actress name. The one that cursed Bates) After what she did is she a witch or is voodoo separate? I honestly don't know since it's a different spiritual thing I wasn't sure how they would classify her.

I'm still thinking Evan is gonna be a mix up boy parts zombie pet

I agree about Evan... some sort of... "made up boy" again... and perhaps she is the opposite of the life-giver, that's a great angle...

Angela Bassett (or Basset?) is the Voodoo Queen, which I am loving that angle - of course in New Orleans we need it. Does that mean that the human voodoo doll girl has more ties to the Voodoo Side of things than the Supreme witch side?

Oh, also, I think it's absolutely fantastic that they cast the clairvoyant the way they did. It's so wonderful. I can't get enough of her!!

I really loved this episode.  I loved the way that they intertwined the historical part with the modern part. I am really interested to see where this goes.
