Just because the product size says one thing doesn't mean she will be mini, they could be referring to just the book.

Ehhh...I don't think so.    The description says "mini Pony....mini brush...mini book"    Unless the description is just flat-out wrong, I think we're getting a mini pony    But it all depends on their definition of 'mini' too.   The G4's look mini compared to the G3's, in my opinion!

I doubt they would be just referring to the book, it is usually the size of the product as shipped. There are also other mini boxes published by Running Press, they are not big. The size of the box (1.8 x 2.8 x 3.2 inches) means that the pony will probably be about 3" high.

Although the pony in the picture appears to be an actual G1 Firefly, I still have hopes that it will be a mini version of the G1 Firefly mould. I can't imagine the quality to be as good as a full size pony, but I would still be happy!

Until there is a product image on bookseller sites like Amazon/B&N/ect. the catalog image is not final and we won't know for sure (unless someone finds one in hand). This is common with book covers. It's entirely possible that the pony in the product image is not the pony that will be sold, but it's also possible that the image is final and it's a miniature version of G1 Firefly.

Hmm I wonder if it might be baby firefly instead since G1 babies are close to 3" as well

I guess it's looking likely, though for some reason it still calls the toy a "mini pony." I'd been hoping that it was something new, but I might pick it up anyway! It's not as if it's expensive, and I'm actually more interested in the book. Do you suppose the book will feature other characters? I would hope so.

It's still lower than the $9.95 list price, but I pre-ordered mine when it was $6-something.  So it's just less of a deal than it was previously.

Correct, it is the same image of a photo of a vintage pony photoshopped into a picture of the packaging. I don't think this makes it any more certain or likely that we'll be getting a full size g1 pony shoved into a tiny box
