G1 ponies are my favorite ponies. :) When I first saw the picture I thought someone just put a picture of G1 Firefly next to the box/book and just put the two images together. The Firefly in the picture just looks too much like a real G1 Firefly to me to be a picture of the Firefly that comes with the book.

I think that's exactly what happened- and I think that is totally okay for their purpose, they just want to give their purchasers (not us) a general idea of what the product will look something like-  (although I would die of happiness if it really is the firefly mold that they scaled down)

It just occured to me that the "mini" pony could mean something like Dolly Mix ponies.   I don't think standard sized figures were ever refered to as "mini" before, so I don't think we're getting a full sized pony.

Here's the Dolly Mix Firefly:

Well I'm hoping more for Dollymix than if it was a G4, better if it was G1 looking pony XD

I'm just thinking of the fact that the hair (I mean the single strands of hair) should be gossamer to obtain that look on a "mini pony".

Agree, the hair is what screams photoshop to me her hair looks so full , if we look at the normal brushable G4 figures they have very thin and scarse hairplugs when is compared to older gens mainly to G1.

The machines for adding hair to toys  are similar to a sewing machine, since G4 are so scarse and thin  this means the machines to add hair  for G4 are different from older gens,  so I doubt they will create new machines just to make this Firefly mini figure wit better hair than G4 figures just for an extra to a  book, mostly when Hasbro has beeing so cheap in their quality lately

Glad you posted a picture of the dolly mix-  the picture of this pony shows what rooted saran or nylon hair would look like on a mini-  kind of thick.  The mane/tail on the Firefly pictured- looks exactly the same as it would if Firefly were full sized- which is very unlikely...

I don't think they will recycle the dollymix mold (or at least I hope they don't) but I do think it will look something more like this...

I'm not sure if this is old news or has been posted, but edelweiss added a .pdf with images of the book interior:

Looks like it's not going to be a story, just pictures. Still very cute!

it's interesting that Powder is in 2 of the pictures, but not named, and that all the ponies but Snuzzle are from years 2 and 3...

Thanks Ice Crystal!   Oooo! Starshine!  I'm glad Hasbro's bringing her back, even if it's just in print form.   She was my FAVORITE for many years.   I guess they did when they made the anniversary sets....

I wonder if this means they'll make more mini G1 ponies?

I'm happy that they made Snuzzle GREY in the book, darker than the MLP Fair logo at least

Just because the product size says one thing doesn't mean she will be mini, they could be referring to just the book.

Ehhh...I don't think so.    The description says "mini Pony....mini brush...mini book"    Unless the description is just flat-out wrong, I think we're getting a mini pony ;)   But it all depends on their definition of 'mini' too.   The G4's look mini compared to the G3's, in my opinion!

I doubt they would be just referring to the book, it is usually the size of the product as shipped. There are also other mini boxes published by Running Press, they are not big. The size of the box (1.8 x 2.8 x 3.2 inches) means that the pony will probably be about 3" high.

Although the pony in the picture appears to be an actual G1 Firefly, I still have hopes that it will be a mini version of the G1 Firefly mould. I can't imagine the quality to be as good as a full size pony, but I would still be happy! :)
