I used to have 2000 Yellow Beetle. I loved that car. I got so many comments on it and it was always so bright and happy feeling. Aside from a few electrical issues, it was a great reliable car. I had to sell it to get a larger car.

I was so sad when they redid the new beetles in 2012. I was planning to buy a brand new beetle in about 4 years, they totally destroyed that plan.

Lol at the lady with the 'cat family' stickers in the window! I would totally get a giggle if I saw that while out and about.

I get heaps of people at traffic lights behind me lean forward, squint, then crack up. I also have heaps of people ask me if I "actually have that many cats" hahaha. It's worth it cause it makes so many people smile :)

I have a 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 that I am very attached to! :) She is a summer car only, so I will be picking up a 2nd car for the snow here soon. I am driving a 2012 F150 at the moment, but it is Dan's and he is keeping it in the separation so I will be car shopping.

I was really attached to my old Jeep Liberty.  I had it for a good 4 years and it could fit all of my friends in it and then some!  We dubbed it 'Monster' because of how big it was. :3

I had a good reason for trading it in (gas got too expensive) and, while I love my KIA Spectra, I still miss my Jeep.  Had gas not gotten expensive, I probably would have kept it.

Sugarstar, your beetle sounds awesome. I love yellow things for the exact reason you mentioned - they are bright and cheerful. I have a yellow umbrella that I use on really awful days and it always makes me feel better.

Oneleo, I'm glad you got to keep the car you are most attached too.  I hope you can pick up a new playmate for it that you like just as much :)

Kaeldre, a jeep is a car with attitude!  No wonder you miss it.  I hear you on the gas bills though!

Oh gosh I love my Nissan Leaf. Not so much in an emotional attachment sense, but more in a 'God damn I'm saving so much money and it's so roomy and fun to drive' love. : )

I was really choked up when it got its first dent! We are a lot more picky about parking spaces in LA now!

Oh I adore my car. His name is Dylan, or Baby D to his closest passengers. I get upset if there is ever anything wrong with him, I have little conversations with him as we drive along [congratulate him if he does a nice over taking manoeuvre] and just generally adore him. He gets me safe from A to B and I hope we are together for many many many years to come :)

And no one is allowed to judge me :P
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Oh, I love my car! She's a Saturn SC2 that I've been driving for 12.5 years. She just rolled over 200000 miles earlier this year (she's at just under 209000 now). She's dead reliable, great on gas, and fun to drive. Hopefully I'll be getting something new relatively soon, I need a truck, but I don't think I'll ever get rid of her, she's just my girl. My brother is an awesome mechanic, so we'll probably just fix her up to play with.

I don't have any good pics of her, apparently, but this is her, my Valentine (dunno why Valentine, I bought her Jan. 1, 2001, that's just what she told me her name was). She's the one in front.

This thread is awesome!

I love my little car - he's a bit gutless and getting a little worn around the edges now... and goodness knows most services pick up on more and more things that need doing

His name is Appleby and he's a Nissan Lucino Hatchback. We've been through a bit together in the 11 years we've known each other... I learned to drive in him (I was a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to driving cars, lol!) and I've dinged his wing mirror more than once  :lookround:  (who makes chimneys stick out in narrow driveways anyway!!!??) But every morning the kids and I say good morning and he purrs back. He even accepts the blame when my youngest farts. Good car.

I am still driving my first car, a green 1999 Subaru Legacy GT sedan with manual transmission.  I'm up to 220,000 miles, but despite lots of problems at about 190,000 miles, she's been a great car.  No A/C for the past 3 years, but otherwise pretty darn reliable.  When my grandma stops driving, I will get her Lexus granny-wagon.  It's a really nice car (if a bit lacking in the coolness department) and in significantly better shape than mine, but I will still cry when it's time to do the switch.  :(

The first dent on a new car is a horrible feeling! I got a dent on mine recently. Luckily its covered up with a protective bumper piece. My sister asked me why I was worried because no one can see. I was like , "but I know its there!" I stare at the spot every time I get in the car.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying the money saving benefits of a car.  In fact, it's no wonder you are so fond of it!  I once got my truck dented because somebody ran into it while it was parked on the side of the road.  It sucks, doesn't it.

Marlin, your description of your car makes me think of a much loved teddy bear. :lovey:

Lol, I am truly shocked at how many of us love our cars.  :P

I'm not emotionally attached to my current car, but I was (and still am) emtionally attached to the car I first drove when I got my license.  It was my grandma's car, and she gave it to me when I first started driving.  She had that car ever since I could remember.  It was a beautiful navy blue Ford Escort...forgot the year, though.  But I remember that car from when I was an itty bitty filly.  It was such a precious car to me, as it was a link between me and GiGi.  Unfortunately,  I totalled it years ago  when I was driving to school on a really snowy day and slid into another car.  I'm still in mourning :-P

Aww escorts are such cute cars. A friend of mine has a little grey one and does market stalls in it. We named it the tardis,  no idea how she fits so much stuff in it.
