I think I have one or two of these somewhere. And recently I spotted these dala horse chocolates http://www.dc-chocolates.com/ at a local store!
Strangely enough, I never picked up myself a Dala Häst and i don't really understand why! i love them! i think I could never decide which one I wanted and now i feel silly buying one in Iceland (they do sell them at certain places).I love your collection Teddy, I hope you will keep us updated when you add to it
Just thinking, but I would love to see an MLP custom painted up as a Dala horse. This thread is giving me a hankering to start collecting these. >_>

Omgosh...I was digging around in my parents garage... and I pulled this little guy out:visitors can't see pics , please register or loginIt still has part of the original sticker (as in, an original Dala, not a "made in china" sticker)I think I'm going to try and find it a new home though, as it's been in a box for a long long time! (Thankfully my mother is SO good about storing stuff, it looks almost new!)Post Merge: August 30, 2013, 08:20:37 PMMerge here: Does anyone know what kind of value it has? It's about... the size of an adult G1...
I've never seen these horses before. I love the white and blue on in your first post, Teddy
It's painted by Erik Pell, according to the sticker... I found this site about himhttp://www.farnashemslojd.se/system/visa.asp?HID=75&FID=70&HSID=1022-It seems like it could be at least a couple decades old... as he was born so long ago. All the sticker info matches up to that site's info at least...It was from our family friends who used to travel overseas routinely, they brought me this, clogs from Holland and those stacking dolls from Russia... haha I ended up throwing her on eBay... I mean, why not, eh?
I'm more interested in the chocolates though Goldilocks, which store did you find them at?
