Once I accidently bid $2000 instead of $20 on an ebay auction...

It could be some kind of mistake too I guess. I can't see the bidding history because I don't have ebay but maybe someone happened to press one or two extra numbers or someone not so familiar to pounds made a miscalculation in the middle of a bidding war. If so I feel bad for both seller and buyer.

It started off pretty normal until it got up to 35 euro, then up to 127, then 2224, and the last bid was for 1 euro more.

Hhhhmmmm....If you look at the bid history, although it's private you can see that the bid for £2224 was made in advance and accounts for most of the jumps in price.

Maybe the person who bid £127 and then £2225 was just trying to catch the £2224 bidder out, having realised that every bid placed was immediately auto-outbid by the £2224 bidder.

I'd be interested to know the reason they gave for not being able to pay...

p.s. Even £35 is crazy for a FF Cotton Candy!

I did the same thing the other day, even though I am usually very careful.  I was planning to bid .75p on an item but in my haste forgot the decimal point.  Thankfully I won the item for only £2 -- what a relief!

Why do I feel like we are going to see a million of ebay sellers trying to sell a super rare htf cotton candy because they saw this auction and suddenly remembered "hey, I have one of those!"
