I saw that the other day and was kinda baffled. I mean, that seller sells a lot of ponies, they don't normally go that high. That's just a FF CC. It's baffling.

Normally we would lock this thread - as we do have an Arena rule about looking for the winner of an auction but as this thread has taken a different tone we are going to let it run.

However, as the seller is not only a long term community member and an Arena member last I checked, I am going to assume this was an unfortunate case of someone trolling, something becoming more common as MLP become more and more high profile. I really feel sorry for the seller

(Somehow I managed to miss the second page of discussion on this one. If it is some kind of trolling, then I do feel really bad for the seller! It's frustrating that selling on eBay can be so obnoxious.)

I'm sorry Hathorcat, I wasn't trying to find the buyer or even look for the seller...I just tought the amount was ridiculous! I was kind of hoping in a silly way that the bid was real, and that I had missed something speciial (I only have a Blackberry right now and pics can be hard to see clearly) I apologize if I hurt anyone's feelings, I was bidding on her because she was so gorgeous! Whoever did/does sell her has amazing stock.

Its a private auction so maybe the seller is using the pony as a front to receive funds from something else.    Then there is a paper trail should things need to be safely reversed. 

Years ago, I remember there was an auction for an innocent-looking anime wallscroll that was actually a front for an auction for a 'date' with a few well-known female cosplayers. Crazy stuff (they even had in the description, "do not bid if you don't know what this really is for"), there was a supporting website with the details of the "date" arrangement and a link to the auction.

No, I don't think this is similar.  Just a bizarre story and the thought of this pony really being a front for something else reminded me.

It could be some kind of mistake too I guess. I can't see the bidding history because I don't have ebay but maybe someone happened to press one or two extra numbers or someone not so familiar to pounds made a miscalculation in the middle of a bidding war. If so I feel bad for both seller and buyer.

Why do I feel like we are going to see a million of ebay sellers trying to sell a super rare htf cotton candy because they saw this auction and suddenly remembered "hey, I have one of those!"
