Rainbow Rider's Cracktastic Horribad Art Adventure! [G1 book fun!]

Oh man, guys.  I finally managed to get a copy of the book "Rainbow Rider's Birthday Adventure".  It is all the cracktastic crack I have come to expect from UK MLP comics, paired with THE WORST PONY ART I HAVE EVER SEEN.   The result?  Hilarity!

I'm going to gradually scan it in and post it here!  (Also on my Tumblr.)  Let's start with the cover and the first interior page . . .

Confusingly for US folks like myself, in the UK all the tropical ponies have different names!

US Sea Breeze (pegasus) = UK Surfing Days
US Tootie Tails (yellow) = UK Summer Heatwave
US Hula Hula (unicorn) = UK Sailaway
US Pina Colada (dark pink) = UK Hula Hula (OMG confusing!!)

Okay, now that that's out of the way, let's see what's happening in our introduction here . . . Well, the bizarreness begins immediately as Hula Hula is planning to give hula lessons to palm trees and Surfing Days/Sea Breeze starts giving the evil eye to Sailaway.

The ponies agree to stand in a boat.  Surfing Days / Sea Breeze possibly turns into a sea pony on the second page.  She seems ticked off about it.  But not as ticked as Hula Hula (aka Pina Colada), who is positively GLARING out at the viewer.  I think she's angry about what's happening to her hair . . . whatever it is.  Like, seriously, what is happening to her hair??

The first two lines . . . I just . . . what . . .

As you can see, the Rainbow Curl ponies also have different UK names, Streaky being "Rainbow Rider" and Raincurl being "Rainbow Cloud."

But that information is insignificant compared to the fact that these two have set up a secret spy base, both watching and listening to the unwitting Tropical ponies.  Covert ops, pony style!

The writers must have definitely been on something writing this.  I can't imagine you can write like this sober.

Shocking aren't they!? I also have the sister book to this one, Playschool Pantomime. Although the artwork is not quite as bad, but most of the ponies look like they have a bad case of acne!

The artwork in the 1992 Annual is also quite bad (same company).
