It was a different time when apparently mind altering substances were allowed in the Hasbro licensing office.

DUUUUUUUUUDE!  This story is like about the tropical pony chicks chilling on their cool island while the rainbow ponies spy on them.  And then like this wizard dude wants them to brighten up his forest, and kidnaps the tropical chicks.  One of the rainbow ponies then goes there to save them but also gets captured.  But it was all a birthday adventure.  It's so AWESOME!

It was written in '91, so I'd have to say awesome.  I was making fun of what had to be the pitch for this book.

Gee, for Rainbow Rider's birthday I think we should kidnap her and sell it as an "adventure!"  Why sure, ponies, that's an awesome idea for a present!  No wonder the tropical ponies looked so smug for this book. 

Seriously, that's the worst idea for a present ever.  Awesomely triply story however.
