First of all, Surfstar THANKYOU for doing all of this :) You have been pretty damn amazing! :hug:

My progress over the three months has been complete not like what I thought I could achieve.

1) I've lost just over a dress size :cheer:
2) I've given up my cola addiction :cheer:
3) I've taken a good hard look at myself and realised my bad eating habits of which I had been oblivious too for years :blush:

I have struggled too -

1) I still need to lose some weight
2) When I get upset, I comfort eat. I need to think of an alternative behavior to deal with stress.
3) Exercise - OK I find this difficult due to health issues but I'm sure I could be trying harder.

Things I did:

1. Grew more aware of what I was eating, and when. I've learnt that an hour of 'oh, I feel a bit hungry' and then having a filling meal is better than a quick, unnecessary snack.
2. Walked a heck of a lot more!
3. Lost an inch off my stomach.

Things to work on:

1. Variety within my diet.
2. Different core workouts.
3. To learn that when I'm tired and listless, it's OK to eat more to perk up again.

As this is the last challenge, to mark the end of HH4P, please take a minute to look back over the last 13 weeks and pick 3 things that you feel you did and 3 things that you think you still need to improve on.

Things I did good:
  • Bringing myself to the present & letting go of preconceived negative feelings/past experiences before trying something I'm anxious about.
  • Exposing myself to new forms of exercise
  • Lowered my BF%
Things I can improve on:
  • Getting back into my routine quicker after getting sick
  • Not skipping stretching
  • Emotional eating

As for me, I GAINED weight.  :sigh:

I thought about something. For those of us who gained or didn't loose much. I bet we would have gained a ton more if not for the work we did on this! I know I would have.

Does my last post count as the last challenge?
3 things I did-
Find a new doc and get new meds
Found a new support system
Got a bike
Tried Tai chi
Drank lots of water
Didn't 'stress eat' much this summer. YAY!

3 things to work on-
scheduling exercise and relaxation better
work on studying ADD and find a lifestyle that works
find more recipes that incorporate veggies
transfer this list to the next round XD

Surfstar, you are awesome!!

p.s. I thought of one more thing I did. I didn't give up and disappear and even now at the end I am continuing on round 3 and trying harder. And that is definitely something :)

Points are 171. I also did all the challenges...but I did not add them as points. I am really proud of myself. I did 153 points for the First round. I really wanted to improve that number...and I DID:)

1. I still need to work on my emotional eating.
2. I still need to work on my addiction for candy and greasy junk food.
3. I need to let my guard down...and let people on the arena truly get to know me and make friends. There were a few days that coming and reading this forum was my reason to get up in the morning.

1. At family gatherings I do not overeat horribly. I used to be able to go up for seconds and not feel icky...now I have to take a little bit of each or I am way too full. Seconds is not even on my mind:)
2. I am slowly improving my will power to stop when I am full. I always forced food down because it was given to me...now I am ok with not eating all of it:)
3. I am taking the guts to take a round 3 of this event! I always wanted to do more with the arena but I was always afraid I would ruin something...or upset someone. So I am really excited that I have gotten the chance to host round 3 and know I will have support through it:)
4. Because I like to have more positives then negatives...I may have gained some of my loss back...but not all of it...and its slowly coming off again...I need new pants:)


Thank you Surfstar for hosting this and giving us all the encouragement. Through your own adversity you cared about us....and that is something very wonderful of you. I still think we should change your name to SuperSurfStar and get you a red cape:)

It is similar but I have used a more goal like system. It does not have to be weight it could be practicing the piano(which is mine) or cleaning:) But you also have to maintain what is healthy for you:)

alright my point total 170
1 need to work on sodas again i fell back down with that
2 still nee to work on waking up early but I'm doing a lot better
3 need to eat more sometimes but doing better with that too

1 I've gained more confidence in myself
2 I've gained a little weight
3 i exercise more

Mmmm... 3 things I did:
I grew more conscious of my food eating decisions
I realised exercise can sometimes be fun!
I pushed myself at times and didn't back down (I quit personal improvement things a little too easily...)

3 things I need to improve:
I need to get my motivation levels back up (I started slipping badly towards the end)
I need to vary my exercise more
I need to stop snacking (or at least, grabbing the wrong things to eat)

All right! Three things I did: 1) I lost 10 lbs! 2) I started making better choices when eating out 3) I eat more fruits & veggies

126 pts for me. Kind of on the low side comparitively, but better than 0 points!

3 things that were positive

1. I learned all sorts of new ways to eat, tried new things, tried new exercises
2. I was really conscious about my food choices
3. I'm making real steps to improve my overall well being

3 things that still need some work

1.Impulse control
2. Anxiety/emotional eating
3. More exercise

1. Better sleep schedule!
2. Better work schedule too. Working in the mornings now.
3. My new puppy has improved my life a lot. I am not feeling so useless and lazy anymore now that I have to care for him 24/7

1. Improve my eating.
2. I'm still pretty lazy sometimes lol
3. I don't how to get more energy during the day. Maybe it's my diet. I probably should eat breakfast.

Sorry I haven't been around this thread much, but this was challenging and fun and I feel like I have improved a lot. :)

Thank you so much SurfStar for hosting this and spending so much time and energy supporting us and thank you everyone for all of your support and encouraging words! It has made all the difference in the world. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of you.

Ugh, points, I have no idea. I stopped keeping track about the time I gave back in to unbridled emotional eating. I lost about 8 pounds, but I gained most of that back.

Negative things first so I can end on a high note:
1. I need to find something I can do to exercise that I enjoy enough to do it every day.
2. I need to find some way to stop emotional eating. As I write this I'm fighting the urge to go bake cookies because I'm stressed out.
3. I need to find a substitute for frozen pizza for a quick and easy meal when I don't feel like cooking.

Positive:
1. I have really changed my eating habits and now I'm eating lots more vegetables, and healthier in general.
2. I learned a lot about what foods make me feel good and what foods make me feel bad.
3. When I was really paying attention and trying my hardest, I did lose weight.
4. I did not give up. I back slid a lot, and I didn't end up meeting some of my goals, but I kept trying and will keep trying until I am completely successful.

Thanks again everyone, and especially you SurfStar. This has been a wonderful experience to me and I'm looking forward to round 3.

the things i did best were staying away from certain foods and trying really really hard to not over calorie my diet.... the things i did worst were keep track of points, pig out on mt dew when stressed, not excersize like i wanted.  Granted this summer has been the worst summer EVER!!!! so im really really proud i did this well, and i did end up losing about 20 lbs from last christmas.  I lost more, but i gained about 5 or so back.... then lost it again....  I wish i could have been here alot more.  I needed the support and needed to give it, but it was just completly imposible.  :<  so WOOO its almost over, though i think it will continue for me.  I need it. ^_^

First off, thanks to SurfStar and all the frequent posters in this thread. We all kept each other going for the goal. It was quite the experience!

As this is the last challenge, to mark the end of HH4P, please take a minute to look back over the last 13 weeks and pick 3 things that you feel you did and 3 things that you think you still need to improve on.

Things I did:

With Surfstar's challenge where we were asked to really ask ourselves just why we were eating things, to ask ourselves about our choices...that really helped me with the sweets eating. Sometimes I will get big-eyed at a confection, and then go to myself "Why do you want to eat that?" It makes me stop and think if I'm just eating to eat.

I'm also buying fruits and veg I really did not enjoy before. I gotta learn how to cook collard greens.

Even though it's been difficult, I've been sticking to an exercise regimen.

Things I need to improve on:

I haven't been drinking enough water... The extra exercise gives me a lot of leg cramping lately because of lack of water. It's not like I drink anything else either, I just forget to drink enough.

Gotta stretch before exercise more often. My tendons are gonna be a mess if I don't. I actually experienced achilles strain at one point from not stretching. That sucked.

I still feel that I don't eat enough "right" things. I need to visit the market more often and pick up more veg.

I personally didn't meet my goal of fitting into a dress for Halloween. I know though, if I work hard I could go to a backup costume for this year, and hopefully be able to pull it off next year instead.
