How many dollies is too many?

Fab shot of all the Ghoulias! I would like to have something similar with Frankie, but there is a few of her that I'm just not keen on. Like the Sweet 1600.. why would she want freaking tinsel in her hair!?!?

I have all the current release frankies with the exception of wave 1 sig (looking to buy!) and SDCC. I have almost all the Ghoulia's as well. My big problem is space    I have a tiny apartment, and a tiny bedroom and I'm running out of places to put things at this point.

i have about 10 Ghoulias....and 4 Frankies (considering a 5th)....as long as you are happy with them, why not have as many as you want

Well, right now the only repeats i have are MLPs (three G4 Pinkie Pies and 3 G4 Raritys). But I do plan on getting every type of Jackson Jekyll doll they'll release.    Jackson is my favourite MH doll. Sadly I only have the basic one so far as I haven't been able to find any of the Gloom Beach figures here.

It's like having a mlp army (like my slow building wysteria army). Its only if you think personally you have too many.

Personally, I couldn't collect more than one of the same doll, I adore Lagoona and I love 2 different Lagoona's hair and makeup but I just couldn't justify paying £20 for two dolls that are the same except for hair and makeup. I just couldn't, I would rather have more of different characters with one favourite, it makes it more fun for me because I have to think really hard and pick which one I want. It's like that with Clawdeen, I am getting her soon, and I was torn between DT and Sweet 1600, I prefered the makeup of DT, and the hair of both, but the clothes of sweet 1600, so I chose Sweet 1600 Clawdeen. I am waiting to recieve her from a lovely member, and I am so physched! xxx

I swore I'd only get 1 of each MH character, maybe 2 if the doll was really different from other versions...and now I have 4 Frankies and 4 Clawdeens.  >_>

I looked at the poll and thought 'well this is a weird question', and voted "1", then I read comments and understood that it was MH. not just dolls in general.
But, if I start buying MH, I won't have more than one of each probably.

Actually I'm not talking about just MH, people just took it to mean that. I see no reason why a person couldn't have multiples of Kewpie, Rapunzel, Batgirl or any other doll of a specific character?

Like I believe you have a collection of Nendoroids with different versions of Miku, LMT?

Well, yes, I do I have 3 versions of Miku. I tend to not cal nendos dolls (even tho I post them here... hypocrite much? )
so once again hypocrite much, One doll for each chara, but with nendos I don't care

I don't have a good number that works for me really.  When it comes to the same character I never set a limit. For some dolls I have like 50 or more of the same...like polly pocket.  Then there are the 30 plus barbies I have for the kids to play with. I am not a barbie collector really.  I don't ever say now I have too many...its just when I am happy with what I have...I quit buying.  When I was collecting Annette Himstedt dolls though I did set a limit as who has the room for more than 5 of those girls?
 
I am not a MOC collector and all of my stuff goes in plastic crates with lids.  Everything is labels with dates and what it is.  Accessories are in tiny zip lock bags and labels. Everything is put away, but I would say large Lalas...there are only two more I want. The Hula one and the Mermaid.

What I don't get is how some people who either currently collect or used to collect Pullips are "Oh I only want one of each character" when it comes to Monster High. Isn't every single Pullip just a different version of the same character and the same with every Dal, Taeyang, etc?
