What did you want to be when you grew up?

I was thinking today about what I wanted to be when I was a little girl.


I went through a few phases... singer, egyptologist and then medical examiner!

What did you want to grow up to be when you were little?

I went through so many phases...a doctor, a school teacher, a veterinarian for awhile until I realised I couldn't deal with that work. Then a writer. Now I'm not really sure what I want to be. I haven't really thought about it.

Nothing too interesting. I think a veterinarian at one point.

I wanted to be a paleontologist for a couple years thanks to Jurassic Park  Later on I wanted to be an animator at Disney. Now I want to be a costumer when I grow up  (is almost 29)

Not gonna lie, when I was really REALLY little and had no sense of the world, I wanted to be a horse. Yes, a horse.
I am super serious about this, too.

That's okay. I went through a phase where I wanted to be a mutant. Preferably one with the power to control plants. Yup.

I had absolutely no direction growing up, and I didn't really get into music till about four years ago, which is my current career. I still don't know what I'll end up doing for my main source of income. I went to school for audio engineering in 2010, and I'm currently hacking away at that, though it's not as good a source of income as I like. I get by, but I'd like to pull more than I am.

Right now, I don't know, I have no idea where I'm going to end up. I'm 25, and five years from now, I have no idea what I'll be doing. I don't know if I'll ever go to school for orchestration (which is something I keep threatening to do), if I'll work on my bass playing and find a band I can tour with (which is something I'm both threatening to do, and actively working on), if I'll settle down and eventually start my own recording studio (again, threatening to do), if I'll end up working in dialogue (recording and editing), or try to pursue being the audio director for an orchestra (which is something I've been told I'd be good at), or if I'll find something else I excel at, and pursue that.

I've yet to feel like I have an answer to 'what I want to be'. I have talents, for sure, and I have options, but I don't know where my future lies.

tl;dr never knew what I wanted to do when I grew up, no that I've 'grown up', I still don't know.

I wanted to be an actress or a singer. (and of course when Really little, a princess) Then a teacher. I work retail right now but am looking for more of a career job. No idea what now though. Haha.

For a while I wanted to be a magician's assistant, then I wanted to be an archaeologist... Now that I actually study archaeology, I might go back to plan A ;-)

I've spent most of my life wanting to be a mermaid

...but when I was being serious, I wanted to be an Automotive Mechanic which eventuated into 5 years working as an "Automotive Trades Assistant" (I have learnt and am able to do a lot more than the title suggests thanks to my own project vehicles). Lately though, I have decided to turn my trades experience and love of cars into a hobby and chase something else more challenging for myself 

No idea what that is yet...

A vampire. I'm not joking, I was a morbid little child. xD The whole idea of turning into a bat and flying around really interested me.

When I grew up enough to be serious about my future, what I wanted to be shifted from vet to stunt woman to spy to pilot to spy again to combat medic in the army to medic in the air force to intelligence officer in the air force to an intelligence agent for MI5 and then to a professional equestrian rider, like the three day eventers.

When I was little I wanted to be an RSPCA Inspector so I could rescue all the animals, then a vet, then in secondary school I wanted to be a fighter pilot, then an equine artist, then a professional artist full stop. After leaving school I thought I could be realistic and settle for bog-standard retail, but I'm 21 and still don't know what I want to be when I grow up!

I wanted to be a teacher.  Then I realized that none of the students would respect me or my authority, so I decided I would rather be an author or an artist. 

And currently... I do none of those things.  LOL
