Whadaya mean "from childhood? " I'm 27 and I still hear "Don't you have that Pony?" from my mother all the time. XD

I spent a while explaining to my Brony friends that Hasbro rarely listens to the older fanbase and will gladly sacrifice us to pander to its perceived target audience. Still with all the Brony pandering they keep missing the mark. Hopefully the baby steps they're taking will snowball and we can finally find a happy medium of collectors/Bronies and kids.

I don't mind them re-using G3 ideas if that means we get something slightly new in the G4 line. Differently sized, blue leg swirl Pinkie Pie is more interesting than ya know...yet another Pinkie Pie that is exactly the same.

SHHH! They'll...hear you...

>_>

Niiice Pinkie Pies...GOOD Pinkie Pies!

Oh man. That mansion is my grail Precious Places playset. I used to stare at the back of the boxes and DREAM. <3

I have the wedding church, the gazebo, the pink house (I think its called Mom's place or something but I always called her Mrs. Bakery as a child XD) and the pet pageant set, as well as two of the individual character sets. <3 The buildings are still in their rather beat up boxes.

One day... *still dreaming*

So this new Pinkie just popped up on my favorite news site:

She's only on eBay right now (and it turns out is bigger than a regular release but smaller than a Fashion Style, as per the auction description).

Sounds awesome, right?

Well, we've seen this before. This set. And this name:

http://www.shopping.com/my-little-pony-sweet/9XmuNxcRhln_xVUdWw5gBA==/info?sb=1

Look at that. They even gave the FiM version the same G3.5 standard brush, and the same blue body squigglies. XD

I gotta add those pics of the G3.5 book updated with FiM images soon.

Oh, and this isn't the first time Hasbro did this. Back when G3 went G3.5, they did this to Scootaloo:

Creepy? Not at all, I was touched. <3

We have one big meet once a month, and our members suggest and throw smaller ones when they wish as well. <3 I just had one where a bunch of us went through Rockefellar Center, but it was so crowded we couldn't keep together. Though honestly I expected 15 people tops, not  the 40 that wanted to come. @__@

Wow, I didn't think anyone would wonder about me. XD Thank you, Foxtale.

If you want to get technical, our BroniesNYC meets are collector "friendly" because they have two collectors at the helm (Kar and I as co-organizers) but they are FIM Brony oriented, and you may hear some ribbing about older gens. I can take it, but I know others are sensitive.

Our Hearth's Warming is this Saturday if anyone wants to stop by and check us out. Disco (my bf) and I man the store table, which sells Pony merch that he travels around and purchases, plus our members sell their own wares. If you have FIM and other nerdy craft to sell, we don't charge extra for our tables. Just admission (between $9.99 and $15 depending on our monetary situation of the month) and certain months we need to charge for food (like this one).

http://www.meetup.com/Bronies-NYC/events/91230022/

This month it'll be $14 admission with $4 meal tickets, and will run from 5pm to 11pm. We usually dedicate the last 45 mins to an hour to a dance party. If you want to check out the Brony scene that we have and see if its something you'd like to be a part of, its a great chance to check it out, and possibly make some money if you craft.

I'm bumping the Minty thread with something interesting.

I went to go see The Hobbit last night.  Fantastic film, by the way (if a bit slow-moving in parts).  The main characters are mostly dwarves and a hobbit (who are smaller than human-sized).  They ride ponies rather than horses.

In one scene, a character is rescuing some ponies that were caught by trolls.  He's listing off the names, and I swear one was named "Minty". My husband and I just looked at each other at that point.  "Did he just say MINTY?"

So if you go see the movie, listen for yourself!  Maybe I've just got Minty on the brain, but I swear her name was mentioned in the film!  (Maybe one of the writers was an MLP fan, or it was just coincidence.) :)

DUDE MY BOYFRIEND HEARD IT TOO. In our Brony group we call each other by our screennames and I'm known as Minty, so they all know to come to me when they hear it. XD I heard it too but it happened so quick I couldn't be sure.

I help run the BroniesNYC meets. I know a few of us are collectors (including Kar Red Roses) who I can pass the word on to.

She's one of the people who started BAP, and I was asked to have my own display of older gen items there. Paul will be at PAX East so I'll have something to throw myself completely in to!

Hey staff, are you still purchasing this variant for the con, or have you bought all the ones you'll sell? This way if someone wants it, they can wait until you're done buying them for the Con before they make a move. I just stumbled onto one on eBay myself.

See, there you go. You're acting like bronies, as a group, all share the same opinion. That's stereotyping. The only thing bronies have in common is a love of MLP: FiM.

It can't be the only thing you have in common! :lovey:
It is, actually. Bronies are just a fandom for a show, and like all show fandoms, the only thing all of them share in common is a love of said show. Assuming anything else beyond that is just wrong.

Yall are way to serious - doesn't anyone get humor anymore??

Assuming you have more than one thing in common with other bronies is wrong? Do you know what I'm thinking or are you just making assumptions about what I'm thinking? I'm curious to know what you think I'm thinking you have in common?

I think more emphasis is needed on the ALL. Technically every single Brony only has ONE thing in common. Within the group of course people will find connections and such. Like for example not ALL BRONIES love Star Trek but most of my personal Brony pals do.

(except maybe that she likes muffins but there isn't anything offensive about liking muffins).

As a cupcake lover, I am extremely offended that the box art depicts muffins and demand that they recall and change it.

I am positive that Hasbro's reps will leave the MLPFair with the clear and vivid feedback that the majority of attendees wanted either a DIFFERENT character for the Collector's Art Pony this year, or a SEPARATE pony from SDCC.  :(

Yes, if you're going to the Fair, please politely inform Hasbro reps of your disappointment. <3

Mare-Do-Well would've been a great idea!!

But Namby Pamby was a great editor!

Wait, what?

Anyway, I would totally throw money at the Fair to support buying Ponies in bulk and customizing them just like the Love Wishes turned into Frisco and Trolley situation (and I still need those two, hint hint sellers!). Granted at this time frame I'm not sure if its feasible but I am willing to help if it is.

There are a lot of things to keep track of and I'm unsure that Summer commented personally yet. However, with Summer as our collector advocate and my friends who are running BronyCon, I'm pretty sure Hasbro does know there is some sort of distinction. Summer did mention to me at the MD Meet that Hasbro wants the Fair (which is fan run, mind) to remain a sort of collectors area and not really have special FiM guests of honor like we do at BronyCon (bronycon.org plug plug).

Silly people. The talk of bum rushing and Diamond Dogs was spoken equally loosely.

Pitchforks, however, would be srs bsnss.

Can't we wait til Summer confirms this before sending in the Diamond Dogs?
