I use acetone for everywhere except over symbols/eyes...for those I use rubbing alcohol and lots of scrubbing. I douse a cotton pad in rubbing alcohol and scrub scrub scrub. It's definitely a labour of love sometimes!

Prototype bbe sunlight.
She was on ebay years ago and i thought i bid high enough but at the last second i was outbid. I felt awful and regretted not bidding higher for years. I let her owner know if she ever intended to sell to please let me know. As luck would have it, right before my wedding i was contacted by her owner who asked if i wanted to buy her. I couldnt believe it. The story has a happy ending so i enourage everyone to not loose faith and that some times the best things are worth waiting for.

LOL I was going to post BBE Sunlight too! I also missed out on the ebay auction and have been kicking myself ever since. I'm so glad she ended up with you though. But if you do ever sell, hit me up!! She's my ultimate grail!

WOW
How did you get her so clean without loosing flocking?

I ran her under COLD water to get her wet, then sprinkled OxyClean over here and GENTLY rubbed it in. Like, barely rubbing so I didn't lose the flocking. Then rinsed with cold water. Then used shampoo and conditioner on her body. Styled her hair and let her air dry :)  I was lucky that I was really careful with the so softs as a kid as I didn't want them getting dirty, so it was just 20+ years of dust on her from being at my parents' :)

I LOVE so softs! In good condition, of course. I love cleaning them up and making them nice and fluffy and soft. But there is nothing more satisfying than deflocking a grungy so soft and discovering the hidden beauty underneath! I'm actually trying to collect a set of nice so softs and they're deflocked twins.

Of course, finding colours like this underneath gross flocking is awesome:

Wow, she's gorgeous! The purple is stunning! Did you use a special paper and glue for the symbol?

If I ever do it again I'm going to try sticker paper, but this was just regular printer paper on a regular colored printer.  After it was printed I sprayed the image with mod podge, then once it was dry cut it out with surgical scissors.  Then I painted tacky glue onto the back.  Getting it to lay smoothly is the hard part.  Then I sealed it with satin glaze.

Thanks for the tips! I'm totally gonna try this!!

I don't usually braid ponies as I prefer curls, but thought a 4-strand braid would look nice with Pretty Vision's colours:

Don't feel bad about "cheating"....I used a temporary tattoo on my last custom cause I have no artistic skills. But printing and gluing sounds like a great idea! Might have to try that if you didn't have to use special paper or glue!

I follow lots of accounts but I don't post much because I dislike how they force images into a square format when my phone takes rectangular photos. It either cuts part of it or shrinks it with bars on the side.

That can be remedied with a free app called no crop :)

No crop is an awesome app! The only thing I dislike about it is when I use it and then want to put a filter on, the box changes colours too. Not a huge deal but a bit annoying.

Any plans to make clam shells? Or are you just going to stick to the conch shells? (Which look amazing, by the way!!)

Nickleback is Canadian too, but I wouldn't attend their concerts even if there was a free complete punzie and scoops in it for me. ;)

LOL I'm not a Nickelback fan at all, but I have to say they put on a good show. We saw them because Chris Daughtry was opening for them in Toronto when we lived there and I'm a big fan of Daughtry, so we went and stuck around for Nickelback just to see if it was any good, and it was! I was actually pleasantly surprised!

Do people bleach moldy ponies? Does that work?

Bleach would probably kill it if it's mold. You could also try anti-mold spray. If it's mold, that would kill it, but it might stain, but at least it could be customized. I'd try soaking them in bleach and see what happens. If the alternative is to toss them, might as well experiment!

Off Topic / Re: Anyone Here Like Pizza Pizza?
« on: August 21, 2016, 11:50:54 PM »
I like it. It's not the best I've ever had, but for the price it's pretty good. And I love the dipping sauces! LOL  We don't have Pizza Pizza out in Alberta that I'm aware of - the equivalent is Pizza 73, which is exactly the same thing down to the design of the delivery boxes. The only difference is the name. We order from them about once a month. They always get the order right and are at our door within 20 minutes, so it's nice when we've been out all day and are too lazy to make anything!
