Off Topic / Re: Contact Lenses
« on: August 29, 2014, 07:56:25 AM »
when i got my first lenses 15 years ago, the optometrist made me put them in and take them out a few times so he could be sure i could do it. i also had a trial, i had to go back after a day, after a week, after a month just to make sure my eyes didn't react.
i highly recommend that - i chop and change my lenses now, and my optometrist doesn't do that anymore cause i've worn many brands over the years with no probs. until i tried the cooper vision biofinity lenses... major reaction, itchy eyes, huge globs of eye goo... ewwww!!
i like the cibavison night and day, but my lens of choice at the moment is pure vision by bausch & lomb. i need them for distance, my eyes are pretty bad at -3.00 & -3.50, and they make night driving a lot easier.
i'd also recommend getting used to regular lenses for a few weeks, and then the special lens for a few weeks too. nothing worse than irritated eyes when you are out n about.
i too carry lens case, solution and glasses everywhere i go, and air conditioning REALLY annoys my eyes, not so much heat. another annoyance is dust, smoke (especially from smoke machines) and believe it or not, the common cold! when i am sick, the lenses are out.
oh, and don't be surprised if when you first have lenses in, you constantly adjust your glasses - that you aren't wearing. lol!! if i wear my glasses for a few weeks, i spend the next week pushing my non existent glasses up!!!

Pony Corral / Re: What do you do with you accessories?
« on: August 28, 2014, 06:13:32 AM »
For my daughter's accessories (g3& g4) I either print a stock photo off the net, or take a photo myself of pony and accessories and print it off. Then it gets clear contacted to a zip lock bag. That way we know who came with what, and makes clean up time so much easier  then all the bags go in a drawer :) she also has a folder that has one page per pony that she owns, it has a pic of the pony, the accessories, eye/hair colour, symbol detail and the back card story. Kinda like the wiki site :)

Until early this year we just had an uneconomical wall aircon in our lounge and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. We now have split systems in all 3 bedrooms. I sooo don't do heat!! Over a week of plus 45 c temps, with nights not getting below 30... Ewwww!!!! Bonus is they are heaters too :)

Off Topic / Re: Do you hold on to keepsakes from past partners?
« on: August 02, 2014, 07:46:18 AM »
I don't like my partner (of 16 years, 2 kids) keeping stuff from his past partner, but I can't do anything about it... 20 years ago, when he was 14, he was the sole survivor of a car crash that killed 4 others, including his girlfriend. When we first got together he was living in a caravan in his mum's backyard, and the framed photo of her had pride of place. When he eventually bought and moved into his mum's house, the pic got pride of place on the hallway wall. Till his brother told him he should probably take it down. Now all the stuff is back in the caravan. I don't have to see it, but I know it's there...

Off Topic / Re: Pony Room Color ? Need Help!
« on: July 20, 2014, 04:34:47 PM »
i have this colour in my bedroom, with brown furniture. otherwise i'd go for a pale cream, but with a brown tint rather than a yellow tint.

and here it is on the walls - unfortunately it is not a pony room

Off Topic / Re: You load sixteen tons and what do you get?
« on: June 27, 2014, 07:54:46 AM »
Laundry. Especially in winter. It takes about 2 days to dry one load, hanging on a small clothes horse in front of our only heater. And as soon as it's dry, there's another 2 loads to be done... I hate ironing and putting clothes away, so the ironing normally gets done when I have 4 loads worth to be done... Then it all has to be put away. My couch tends to become our wardrobe till it's all pretty much ready to be washed again... And every night I have to cover it up so the cat doesn't sleep on it. I am so lazy!!! Vacuuming a close second, I always used to know I had to do it when I'd change my son's nappy and his poor little bum would have clumps of human and cat hair stuck to it  also detest grocery shopping and putting it all away, and emptying the dishwasher - but those are cause it involves a lot of bending which totally screws my back. Think I need to win lotto so I can build a self cleaning house!!

this was all i could find in regards to tracking...

What parcel tracking/monitoring features does SkippyPost offer?

SkippyPost does not offer a door-to-door tracking facility on regular parcels, rather a despatch confirmation and recipient-generated delivery confirmation.
SkippyTracker is our fully trackable service and we advise you to use this if you want full online trackability.

SkippyPost cannot provide tracking details for regular parcels that have not been received. SkippyPost is not able to track a regular parcel after it has been despatched from the Shipping Centre.

The SkippyPost monitoring system allows the following online monitoring by both the SkippyPost member and the parcel recipient (if an email is registered for the recipient):

When the shipment is received at the SkippyPost Shipping Centre
When the parcel is processed and sorted at the SkippyPost Shipping Centre
When the parcel is despatched from SkippyPost Shipping Centre
When the parcel is received by the recipient (optional)
Parcels are not able to be tracked to the recipient's delivery country, only within Australia.

then there is skippy tracker...

What is SkippyTracker?

SkippyTracker provides genuine online tracking and proof of delivery worldwide via Speedpost (a Singapore Post division). SingPost recently won the EMS Cooperative Certification Gold Level Award from the Universal Postal Union (UPU) for its Speedpost Worldwide courier service and is the only postal administration in the world to win the award for six consecutive years since 2001. Tracking in New Zealand is a separate service, but also features online tools, provided by NZ Post.
SkippyTracker is a premium ECI-style service akin to international courier delivery. You can check SkippyTracker rates using the Rate Estimator page.

You select the SkippyTracker service as an option by checking the box when entering your parcel into the shipment. SkippyTracker is a separate product and the rate for that parcel weight and destination will display on screen when you select the option.

You and your recipient will receive an email containing a tracking number and a link to the website which will allow both of you to track the progress of the parcel to delivery.

If the delivery address is a PO Box the tracking details will stop when the item has been delivered to that PO Box

Due to Customs Regulations, SkippyTracker items require that extra documentation be included with the parcel. This documentation format is provided online by SkippyPost and is printed on plain paper by you after finalising your parcel via the Print Labels page of the SkippyPost website. You will need to sign each page of the documentation and place it inside an envelope affixed to the outside of the parcel.

Information about this extra documentation can be found on the print label page.

doesn't help you much tho :(

Identical twins are completely random. fraternal twins can run in families, but only on the mothers side, and only if they pass on the gene that causes them to release more than one egg during ovulation

Just remember to check the abr/abn registry to make sure your chosen name isn't already taken :)
